Losing 1 lb is one-derful! As you know, it’s best to lose weight very s-l-o-w-l-y. 👏 😀

Losing about one pound per week is considered the safest and most sustainable rate of weight loss by health experts because it's more likely to result in a loss of fat rather than muscle and water, and it also leads to healthier, long-term results. The best way to achieve this is by creating a sustainable calorie deficit through a combination of a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, along with healthy lifestyle habits like getting enough sleep and managing stress.

To lose one pound of fat, you need to create a deficit of approximately 3,500 calories. Therefore, to lose one pound per week, you need to reduce your daily intake or increase your daily expenditure by about 500 calories. ☕️ 🍰

    Weigh-In: SATURDAY

    Starting Weight: 286.2 lbs (6 / 1 / 2024)

    Past Weight: 198.0 lbs

    Current Weight: 197.4 lbs

    DOWN 0.6 lbs

    Exercise💦: “didn’t happen” this week😕

[My eating was good this week, BUT no exercising kept me from losing my "usual 1 - 1.5 lbs", when I stick to my food plan. Very happy this was the second week in a row I was UNDER 200 lbs!

Starting Step 5 in Overeaters Anonymous "ADMITTED TO OUR HIGHER POWER, TO OURSELVES, AND TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING THE EXACT NATURE OF OUR WRONGS. (edited by BAO!) OA has been a "good tool" in my toolbox so far, though I don't necessarily agree with their entire philosophy, and some of their rules.]

Hello from Fort Myers Florida. I started, re-booted again in January 2025 lost 25 pounds so far. I started lower carb with Wegovy. Hit a wall for months. I just changed my medicine to Zepbound. And last night I took the 7.5 shot. No side effects that are bad. I am not hungry or thinking about food all the time. I started at a size 3X or 4 X depending on the dress. 282 pounds. I weight 257 today size 18W. I want to lose another 100 pounds to get to a place where I should be…I'm 5'4" small frame. My blood pressure is already normal, my blood work is almost all normal now. No sugar issues, no pills, no pain meds anymore. My GI issues are gone. I had gull bladder removed and I had dumping issues, all gone. Food digests slow and that is fantastic for me. I keep full for hours.

I need to drink more water, walk more. My stomach is flatter and I don't look like I'm going to have a baby anymore!

I'm giving away my clothes as they get too big.

We can lose the weight, stay strong and positive. I believe in me and I know this time is the last time for my yo-yo diet.

Yay! I like your attitude Brian. 200 is obviously a healthy weight for you, so you’ve decided to just be “content” with maintaining 200. Wise decision. 👏 😀

Your weight will naturally fluctuate about 5 lbs (give or take) every now and then, but that’s normal. Don’t be alarmed. Just go with it. 👍️

    284 is one-derful Bonnie! You're doing great. 👏 😀

Consider taking an Iodine supplement. I take it for my Hypothyroid instead of the Thyroid meds my doctor prescribed. Works great. Much better than the drugs. I'm taking this one I bought on Amazon:

    Hi!

I’m Kim and I would like to join your challenge/journey and celebrate our successes together. I’m just recently coming back to MFP (I was trying to WW) and in the past few years I’ve lost and regained the same 50 or so pounds a few times. I’m hoping to gain some insight and to feel that I’m not alone in my struggles. Thanks for all of your posts! Oh and my SW (or should I say starting again weight) is 323-up 4 lbs overnight!

Hello Kim. Welcome to MY 100 POUND JOURNEY. I know how you feel. I've lost and regained the same 50 or so pounds more than a few times. What weight loss method are you using? I prefer the Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) diet plan. 🥕 🥔 🥦

Baked Russet potatoes are excellent for weight loss. A medium russet potato contains approximately 160-170 calories. I rub mine with virgin olive oil and pink salt. Bake for 45 minutes, and then top with black pepper and chopped green onions. Yum. Filling, and healthy.

    What is RSD in ADHD?

In ADHD, RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria) refers to intense emotional pain, anxiety, and sensitivity to perceived rejection, criticism, or failure. While not an official diagnosis, RSD is common in people with ADHD and can lead to symptoms like low self-esteem, emotional outbursts, social withdrawal, or even people-pleasing behaviors, as individuals with ADHD may struggle with emotional regulation.

    What it feels like

    • Extreme emotional pain: A minor criticism or perceived rejection can feel like a major betrayal or complete failure.
    • Emotional outbursts: This can manifest as intense anger, crying, or other forms of aggression.
    • Sudden drops in mood: Experiences can trigger sudden shifts into depression or anxiety.
    • Low self-esteem and self-criticism: People with RSD often develop chronic low self-esteem and engage in harsh self-criticism.
    • Behavioral changes: This can include social withdrawal to avoid potential rejection, people-pleasing to gain approval, or perfectionism to prevent failure.

Bonnie, I’m so sorry you are suffering with these conditions. This is my favorite book. It has helped me greatly. You can find a used copy on Amazon for $2.97.

This is all SO true, its hard. No one tells you about RSD until you finally get that diagnosis. Explains a lot but also mean there is no escape. SIgh.

A 2lb loss this week, but I am kinda not paying attention to it as I had a bad stomach for couple of days and suspect thats the loss and not dumping fat. But onwards we go….

The good thing (if I hold onto it) is for the first time in over a decade I am under 20 stone, only a smidge but I'm taking i!

Well here I am …….weigh in day. Lost one and a haf pounds, so happy with that.

Heaviest recorded weight 302lb, todays weight 277.8 lbs. My original goal was to get to 250lbs, I thought it impossible but now its looking slightly hopeful…. at this rate it should be in about 28 weeks, maybe in time for my 64th birthday!
