Good Monday....and Happy Thanksgiving to our ladies north of the border!

Hey, Missy! I have several Origami shelving units a lot like that. Mine fold up when not in use. They are perfect to hold my yarn bins and I use one as an overflow pantry. Glad you are feeling better....those viruses going around are tough! Enjoy your day off!

Lana, we still have the Nor'easter going through. I got a warning about possible power outages, but I don't think its going to affect our area. As for my daughter, I know that if it gets to the point where she can't handle it, she'll try a different area of nursing. Either way, I will be tough for her. I am hoping that as new classes pass through orientation that they will have enough staff eventually so they can give the nurses their 3 days back.

Its another dreary day. I need to work on insulating my a/c unit once and for all sobI don't have cold air seeping in this winter. And I am considering ordering a draftsman chair for working at the stove....I can only stand at it for a few minutes at a time and it makes cooking difficult at times.

But I am having fun buying Christmas gifts for the grandkids again this year! Its still fun spending my son's money. 😉 But I appreciate he lets me do it.

    Till tomorrow...

Ang - it's nice to hear that you had your Thanksgiving celebration with your friends. It is very hard when the traditions around holidays have to shift because of life changes. I think I understand what you're feeling about that turkey breast.

Sandy - is it possible that some sort of floor covering that chefs use might do the trick of not being able to stand for long times? I too don't like standing for long periods cooking or prepping to cook, and that has changed how I trim vegetables (now at a table, and now with scissors, not a knife and cutting board, when possible).

Lana, it’s very windy and rainy but I’ve seen worse. Dogs were not happy they didn’t want to go outside. BUT they were very comfortable on the couch.

Ang, Not Canadian but I do have distant relatives whom are so Happy Thanksgiving!

    Good afternoon,

I have missed both downpours today going to and from work - it is starting again as I type.

This was one of the weirdest Mondays, with rain our computers usually dont work too well, but then were down for most of the morning, making the work day odd. I was a walking zombie which did not help.

A lot of people had the holiday so it was no so busy. MIssy, I am glad you got the day off.

All of my Church craft donations are handed it. Made a massive batch of granola - google Grandmas Granola…. If I did not finish the craft project oh well, I am done with trying.

Lana - doom and gloom - play favorite music, watch something that makes you laugh.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Hello, Ladies!

    @donsm40 , @marceybear , hey.…where are you? Hope you are both ok!

Sara, good to see you again! I need to get myself in gear and work on my Christmas crocheting.

Lana, the same thing happens when I am in my bedroom folding laundry on carpet. I have invested in chopping instruments and slicers and rotary graters so that helps sitting down. I have a rolling office chair on my dining area that I use to sit down at my kitchen table to do prep work. But it's not high enough for me sit at the stove to cook. An adjustable draftsman's chair I could use for both purposes. But we'll see if its in the budget.

Missy, I don't blame your dogs…I haven't had my little guy out in days.

Still bleah out there. Its supposed to clear up later...I can only hope.

I found a real bargain online...100 button. batteries for $9.99! If you have ever had to buy those batteries, they are WAY expensive for just a few. I have fairy lights that all use those batteries and they haven't worked for ages because I couldn't justify paying for them. Now everything lights up again. I have Hallmark ornaments that run on those things, too that have been dark and silent for years....no more!

Food will be about the same today as yesterday.

    TTFN...

Back at it. This is the only thing that ever worked for me before. Hope everyone is enjoying their path, whether it’s easy, tough or challenging. It’s a lot different when you’re 48 from when I was in my late twenties, but hey, I’m wiser….right??? 😂

Ang, I thought you were in France! Happy Thanksgiving.

Missy, how did I not remember you were a teacher too? OMG my first 6 weeks have been so full of sickness! We don't get Indigenous Peoples' Day off. I wish we did. We get Veterans' Day (Remembrance Day) off—a Tuesday. No long weekends until Thanksgiving.

Lana, specialist has recommended topical estrogen. Takes about 3 months to work.

I've been up since about 2:15 am. Gonna be a long, long day—professional development, 2:20 pm to 4 pm after work. Ugh. I can't take it on the best of days.

Steady weight loss in the past two weeks; officially down to 195 after bouncing 195-198 for the past 6 weeks. Gotta keep on keeping on.

    Sandy, Sara, all, HI!

    Good Eeeeeee-vening...

....and howdy everybody! Hope y'all had a good day!

I had a busy day and didn't have a chance to post till now. Got a good bit accomplished....got my summer bedding washed and dried at my ex's, got my doggie groomed, filled my gas tank at a good price and my ex BIL paid for lunch for him, myself, my ex and my ex SIL at Cane's. Not the healthiest but it was my only meal for the day. And my ex can be wierd....there were cherry tomatoes left on his plants, so I picked them off for him. I told him what I did and he says you can't slice then and put them on a sandwich. Ummmm....well yeah. So why did you bother to plant them if you don't want to eat them? I was tempted to take them home, but I didn't want to assume anything.

And I finally reconnected all my smart devices. Took some effort but now everything works. And my Monstera plants seems happy.

Tonight I am taking it easy. Enjoy your evening!

    Good Morning, Mates!

Well...I DID IT!! I am now in the 150s officially!! I haven't seen that number in many years!! Feels SO good! My body is adjusting well to my weight loss. Ten pounds to go! Who knows?....it may take another year, but there is no rush. This is a forever thing.

Leftover day! Chili and salmon. Works for me. I have a pack of crescent rolls I need to bake up, too.

And there isn't a cloud in the sky today! Hope your day is as pleasant!

    Thanks, Lana! ❤️

Well, my body decided to be obnoxious to me....LOL! And it wasn't because of anything I ate. So, I didn't make my Challenge goal again this week...grrrrr... Oh well, it will come back off. I was enjoying that 150s on the scale. Maybe tomorrow.

Good morning. It's another gorgeous fall day in NC. I started my walk in darkness, finished at sunrise; see pics.

Busy day yesterday, and a great nap after :0

I'm going to try to get ahead on planning today so I can spend my next couple days at work grading and organizing. I use a fair amount of paper b/c students need it, so it gets messy quickly.

Only 2 weeks left in quarter 1; it goes so fast. Q2 goes faster. Quarters 3 and 4 crawl.

I had 3 days off scheduled programming, so to speak. I don't think I overate, but I sure as heck didn't have a deficit at least 2 of those days! Ah, well. Today is a new day. And I have groceries coming, haha.

    Happy Sunday everyone~~

I just finished coloring my hair. L'Oreal changed the fragrance of their Preference, and it is awful! After I finish what I have of it, I am going to make some sort of change. I should just let it go all white and whatever other color it is now. * sob * I'm going on a cruise vacation in early February; maybe after that….

Tomorrow is garbage day, so my plan for today is to get rid of as much cr@p as I can, and fill that can up! I'm in the mood to let things go.

Wishing you all a good day today~~

    Happy Manic Monday, Everyone!

    Maureen, BEAUTIFUL pics!

Hey, Lana...thanks! But it didn't last long. Up and down. Its like when I was trying to get into the 160s. But I'll get into the 150s permanently!

Had breakfast out with the SO this morning. That will be my main meal for the day. I spent part of the afternoon in front of my apartment building. I pulled out the sunflower stalks that were ending for the season, put them in the dumpster and cut off some of the remaining blossoms to put in a vase in my living room. I worked up a sweat so that's a good thing. And now I can start filling my bird feeder again! And I am thinking of adding another feeder on my window....my daughter bought me one last Christmas I haven't used yet.

    Keep smiling, everybody!

    Good evening,

The dr visits are multiplying like rabbits - I have to have a breast biopsy, that is in 2 weeks, week after that is my follow up uterine ultrasound and this Thursday I find out when my colonoscopy is.

So if you wonder why I have ice cream in my freezer…… weight is still doing okay.

I have done well enough at work in my audits that i do not have to have one until "Nov" work. Nice change and nice reward.

Potluck at church on Sunday making the pistachio/pineapple/mini marshmallow and cool whip pudding. Makes a nice bowl ful and I have not had it in decades. I expect most people to eat it so I wont have any to take home.

Gentleman friend is being a jerk. I will say he is stressed out. I will also leave him alone with it.

Wishing all a good night, Stay safe and sane out there.

Sandy - get that bird feeder going!

Sara - Jeez that's a lot coming down the pike. The Cabana Boys will be giving special attention ✔️ Yes, give Gent Friend wide berth. The pistachio-pineapple stuff is making my teeth rattle! 🤣 Enjoy!!

I woke up too early this morning in anticipation of a 7:45AM onco-cardiology annual checkup. This is to monitor damage done by the breast cancer chemo nine years ago.

After that will be grocery shopping for some chicken and green veggies 🥦

Are any of you fans of jigsaw puzzles? White Mountain just sent a new catalog. Take a look at this photo. Some of these puzzle creators make their images on the computer, and it is obvious. Look at Santa's legs and feet on this one. Nothing is right, literally. He has two left feet and legs! What the heck?

THE BLUE JAYS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been off track due to lack of sleep watching the ALCS. They don't start until 9pm. I have a couple days of normal sleep before the World Series starts on Friday. I hope to get back on track and not to binge eat (stress of the game) when it starts.

Good morning all. It's a "testing day" at work for our 10th graders. I have a 12th grade homeroom, so they will be with me for somewhere between 4-6 hours. It just depends on how long it takes to get the testing (a) started—wrangling students into their proper testing rooms; and (b) finished—between testing "irregularities" and computer glitches, that can slow down progress in any testing room by a lot. I'll have may 5-12 of my 39 seniors show up. It makes for a great day to bond, relax and get the proverbial *kitten* ton of other stuff I have to do, done. Apologies to anyone offended by my biblical reference accompanied by a 4-letter word.

Personally, I need to get a grip on myself. Zero self discipline. I can excuse the first weeks, with all that illness—not since! I am extremely tired by the end of my work day, yes. But the pattern I'm in is not sustainable with the goals I have. So, I've decided I must:

—stop my 3rd morning coffee. Extra cals in creamer (35 or so, not the biggest issue), and interferes a LOT with my water intake.

—go to chicken sandwiches for lunch, replacing favorite yogurt. I'm living off that yogurt, losing slowly, but my diet sucks and I'm too hungry and vulnerable to overeating. Gotta suck it up and make the dang sandwiches. I can't stand any other meat, and the chicken is fine—although I hate the smell. Ugh. Lots of mustard, I guess. What's lower cal to hid the scent?

—Walk when I get home. I've been napping. Bad cycle—can't fall asleep early then, only 6-7 hours, deep fatigue = must nap next day. I can break the cycle by walking right when I get home. I've done it before. I have to start small b/c I cannot face "I have to walk at least 3 miles!" when I'm that tired. I might walk 3 miles, but I can't set that goal or I won't even start. Also, I need to buy some leggings so I can go from work to walking by just changing tops :) Makes it so much more likely I'll do it.

This is more for me, but if you read through, thanks! Have any thoughts? Send 'em my way. Once I rebuild the habits, I'll be fine, but I've been off track for 18 mo more or less (for my work days, anyway) and getting back into the grove is hard enough each school year!

Glad to see Lana, Sandy, Sara, Missy, Ang, and others checking in!

    TTFN,

    Maureen

    Good Hump Day!

Maureen, the program removes those offending words and substitutes with "kitten"....LOL! But either way, I wouldn't be offended. 😉 And I have a problem with leftover chicken or cold chicken. I love fresh rotisserie chicken but the leftovers?....I have to eat them so I make sandwiches too. Salt and pepper....a little poultry seasoning, mayo and lettuce. Or chicken salad. You can also make a dip and treat them like bread less chicken fingers. I learned never to reheat chicken in a microwave....bleah!

Ang....Toronto better beat the Dodgers or I will be very unhappy....😤😉

Had yogurt for breakfast with a little stevia mixed in and a half mug of milk to take my pills. Dinner will be a salad with a couple of hard boiled eggs cut up and mixed in. And an apple for a snack.

Doggie found a silica gel packet and swallowed the contents....I found the empty packet on the floor. I tried not to panic...its not like him to chew things that are on the floor other than his toys. I found out that the gel isn't poisonous so I kept an eye on him. He did vomit a bit a couple times and was not as active last night. He seems much better today...no vomiting. So I guess I dodged another vet trip....phew! I hate those silica gel packs!

A big hello to Lana and Missy and Sara and anyone who might come around!

    Good morning all~~

Sandy - how is your pup doing today?

Maureen - Can you walk for 20 or 30 minutes sometime during your work day to get outside and clear your head? Or in the morning before work? Leaving the walking for after work makes it a chore; and no, it certainly doesn't need to be 3 miles ever. As for the chicken - make egg salad or have a large portion of lentils or chick peas instead.

Waving to Sara and Missy and Ang and whoever stops by to say hello today.

Sandy - The Jays have never gone to the World Series and lost. They last went in 1992 and 1993 and won. It might take all 7 games but I believe in them.

The ache across the back of shoulders and neck is back today. It's been a couple of months so I had it. Ugh. It didn't need to come back.

    Good (just turning) Afternoon!

Lana, he is fine, thank goodness! No more vomiting and he seems to be back to his old self again.

Ang, I sure hope they go all the way. I will be rooting for them! And I hope your neck/shoukder issue resolves itself quickly! ❤️

Haven't eaten yet today. I did take shrimp out of the freezer for shrimp salad for dinner. Lunch looks like soup.
