    Lost half a pound this week, which I'm delighted with given that I haven't made it to the gym. :smile:

    OWLS - 25 Been eating loads of seasonal veg, Brussels sprouts with dinner tonight, yum! :bigsmile:
    NEWTS - 0 I keep forgetting to do this; I'm not going to be earning many newts!
    House Points - Only 120 this week; I'm keeping active, but not much I'm logging as exercise right now

    I know what you mean when I read your explanations, but OWLs are the exercise part and NEWTs are the food part.

    This week 15 NEWTs was the max. 5 for trying a fall recipe, 5 for sharing it, and 5 for including an in season veggie. :)

    WEEK 4 OWLs & NEWTs!

    (Starting after check-in between 10/21-10/24
    and ending with check-in between 10/28-10/31)

    OWL (exercise): Superman (http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/fitness/fitness-plan-two-weeks-oct06#slide-9). Each rep earns you 1 OWL. Try to do as many as you can, while holding each rep for about 1 second. Don't rush them or they won't do you as much good. Rack 'em up, Gryffs! Let's finish strong, since it's the last week of the month!

    NEWT (food): SODIUM! Let's try to keep our sodium levels under 2000 for as many days as you can. I know this will be tough for me! If you don't already track your Sodium, try adding it for this week and see how you do. You earn 5 NEWTs for each day you keep your sodium under 2000 mgs for a total of 35 NEWTs possible for the week.

    ***Remember to double check the dates for this challenge! Don't start early and lessen your progress for the current week!

    Oh dear, it's such a bad idea to get those confused; I doubt a NEWT would be particularly efficient at delivering letters! :bigsmile:
    Hopefully I have it the right way round this week...

    Weight, I weighed in early (yesterday) but have lost 0.3lb.

    OWLs - 0

    NEWTs - 25 Had at least eight glasses of water every day, but on two days I also had a lot of wine and didn't have extra water and I know I was a bit dehydrated, so I'm not giving myself points for those days.

    HOUSE POINTS - Slightly better, 361 this week.

    GOALS
    On holiday for a few weeks after today and won't have access to scales and internet access will be patchy, so as I'm now officially no longer overweight, and as exercise has been slipping lately, I'm temporarily changing my goal to an exercise challenge of at least 90 minutes every day until my return. (I might regret this haha!)

    Bronwyn, I'll almost certainly be able to get online somewhere to report back in a week's time, so do keep me in! :smile:

    Hahaha! That's true, a newt wouldn't do a very good job delivering letters, would it?

    10/31 goal: same as 10/1 but with my booty being what it is now. if i hit my goal before 10/31 i think i will just start trying to burn a certain number of calories if that is ok.

    usually hit more than that for hps but hubby was home so didnt workout as long as normal for a few days. i feel like a slight bit of a failure but it is what it is and i cant change it. as for all of you i am so proud of you all!!!

    Was on vacation for 2 weeks and did almost nothing. Started back on track (sort of) last Monday, so here's what I got:
    CW: 10/23/11 = 138.6
    GW: 10/31/11 = 135
    OWL: squat kicks = 20
    NEWT: 8 cups of water per day = 20
    HP: exercise minutes = zero
    Monday to Sunday

    Today: 157.0 lbs :D
    Oct 31 GW: 155.0 lbs

    Newts: At least 8 cups of water per day x 4 days = 20 points

    Owls: Squat Kicks x 0 = 0 Points

    House Points: Monday, Oct 17th to Sunday, Oct 23rd totalled 555 Minutes = 555 Points

    It'll definitely be a great way for you to focus on exercise and food and take your mind off the pressure of the scale. :) There's no pressure in this house to lose, only to improve and do your best!

    I know I'm late checking in, yesterday was crazy.

    Weight: up 2 lbs (pretty sure it was the chili I had for supper - water retention!)
    OWLs and NEWTs - none
    HPs - 98 (missed a run due to bad weather)

    Hope to do better next week! Missed my run yesterday because I overslept, but I got it in today!

    NEWT (food): Going back to basics. Let's get our veggies in. Aim for eating 3 types of veggies each day. They can be the same 3 veggies every day, if you'd like. 5 NEWTs for every day you get 3 veggies in. 3 NEWTs for every day you get 2 or less veggies in. So, you can earn anywhere from 3 NEWTs to 35 NEWTs this week. Ask if you have questions!
