No I am going to take off probably the 23rd through the 27th. I know this is rather long but on the 23rd I will be traveling, 24th is Christmas Eve, 25th is Christmas, 26th I'll still be at my parents on vacation and 27th traveling back home. I plan to enjoy the time off and the holiday and get right back to it when I return from my vacation. Happy Holidays to you all!!!

Yes I am. Considering we don't do a huge dinner on Christmas day, and everything will be baked anyway, I know I won't do bad at all.
  • It will probably be too hectic to get to my computer. I will try to do my best but I will enjoy the holiday, the family and the feast.

Great answer!!! No, it is NOT about the food or the gifts.

I'm not going to log, but I'm going to quick add 3000 calories, just in case, and still try and make good decisions. I'm going to burn calories like a fiend afterwards and try to limit my intake beforehand so that my net calories for the week aren't insanely high. I want to enjoy Christmas, but I also don't want to be dealing with the negative side effects so harshly.

I dont understand, people keep saying NO they are going to long in they are going enjoy their famly etc... how excactly does taking 5 mins to track your day cause you to not be able to enjoy your family and holidays.

Stay strong people! you dont need to over do it to enjoy the holidays, moderation is key, after all over indulging, thats what got us in trouble in the first place.

I will log in and log my food, I will also somehow find time to enjoy my family and the holidays....

    Well said!!!

    Hell no.

    That's silly.

    If I looked like that I wouldn't either..hahaha !!! but since I don't YET, I will log it.

Why is it silly???It is not about the food, I think you have the holidays mixed up.

I probably will but it will be a kind of day off so I certainly won't be worried if I go over. I would be interesting to see how much i end up eating.I'm hoping my appetite has shrunk a bit so I naturally dont wont to eat as much as i did before.

Yep, going to log. Portion control, calorie counting, and exercise. No holiday is a reason to pig out and hurt your body.

    no.
  • Christmas really isn't a huge eating/binging/pig out day for us. We have a nice Christmas dinner, but we don't really over-do it! So yes, I'll probably log on Christmas

I will be out of cell phone range and away from any computers but I may log it at a later date. I most likely won't be eating anything that big. We're just having a small BBQ on the beach and I won't go nuts.
  • I used to take a day off logging every other week to curb my cravings for junk food. Then I started taking a day to eat what I wanted, but logged it. I found it kept me more on track, and while I ate things I wanted, I didn't eat as much.

I'm gonna log and I'm not going to overly restrict...I don't plan on eating a whole pie, just enjoying dinner and the day. That night we are gonna go out dancing so I figure that will help torch those calories.

completely agree! I found that on Thanksgiving...knowing that I was going to log in my food kept me from overindulging. I ate everything that was there, just in moderation.

Yep... and am also not going to shame myself if I go over... because I am excited to enjoy some home cooking and homemade treats
Life/ health is all about balance... if most of the days are awesome nutrient wise.. then sure enough you are able to enjoy a few days a year on the other side of the spectrum!

No. and I am not going to hold back either. Its one day and Ive far exceeded my weight goal and by that time will be starting to bulk, so perfect timing.

Yes, that doesn't mean I am going to be under my calorie goal though. I always log. I don't have a iPhone so on vacations I take notes and log after the fact. Sometimes you lose after a high calorie day but how would you know if you don't log it in. Doesn't make sense to me to not log those as well. I hope to stay under maintenance calories that day though. Christmas Eve is the day I make a buffet dinner for my whole family and I make my traditional dishes but then I burn so many calories cooking/cleaning that I don't need to worry. Christmas day is harder since I don't usually get exercise or cook and clean as much since it is usually at my sisters house. Still logging it though. I may log ahead a bit to make it easier.

No, I will be too busy cooking and enjoying time with my family to log all my meals.

i was actually thinking about this earlier....id like to say yes but unfortunately i'll probably be face deep in sherry trifle by midday and i think the combination of alcohol and food coma will probably prevent me from doing so!

Of course. It is another day. I am sure I will go over my calories seeing as I am having crab legs with butter and cheesy biscuits for dinner alone, but I would rather see those calories there than not seeing as I have been honest in my logging all this time.

Nope. I have blown it at the end of this year and my goal is not to gain. No more losses for me.

Gosh it would suck to enter every recipe for everything I cook to know what my calories actually are... Think I might guesstimate or use a generic item entry already in the system, but I'll probably log... I fully plan that I'll be over my calories that day, but I'm still going to watch my portions - I always hated feeling so full I was sick anyhow :)
