Okay, be nice.
I have been VERY fortunate in my journey and don't have too many physical reminders of the fact that I used to weigh a whopping 294 pounds (no bat wings or neck waddle or other obvious signs); however, even though I am fit and healthy now and it doesn't show up as long as I'm fully clothed, I have some pretty awful loose skin and insane stretch marks.
Like I said, be nice. (I'm 5'10" btw)
I'm so glad you posted! This is such awesome inspiration and motivation for those of us with a lot to lose. It is hard to imagine I would EVER wear a bikini, yet here you are, with a similar starting weight as mine, total rocking that suit! So why the hell CAN'T I wear one at some point?? No f*ing reason whatsoever. :happy:0 -
I just wanted to chime back in with my admiration and respect for you all. The best part of this whole thread is seeing so many women get inspired to either purchase a bikini or post their picture. Many thanks to Kortney for starting this off.
I'm still all nasty bloated from a medication gone wrong or I'd post a new picture, but instead I'm changing my profile pic to the one I took a few months ago. Let's keep this going!0 -

Oops - I guess I forgot to post my "before" picture. It looked something like this, but less tan:0 -

Can't believe I am doing this, but I am proud of my work. It is always good to remember how far you have come! Still have 10-15lbs to go!

In case it gets missed somehow, I decided to post my Original Post in this thread too:It doesn't matter if you have five pounds to lose or fifty, you can still feel good about the person you are and the hard work you're putting toward your health! Confidence sometimes has to come from 'faking it till you make it' .... and if that means you pretend you're a beachbodied minx until you get there, so be it. I believe it was En Vogue who said, "Free your mind, and your *kitten* will follow".
Get your *kitten* in your beach gear and let's see what real women look like.

Okay ladies, you really inspired me with this real women in bikinis topic, so here I am in a bikini - no makeup and no retouches. This is the only true bikini I have ever owned, despite the fact I once weighed 125lbs (at 5' 10")!! I bought this a few years ago when illness caused me to become a temporary size 8. I weighed 155, and wasn't confident enough to wear it. After seeing the great pics in this thread, I decided to try on the bikini. I have lost at least 19 lbs, and I don't think I look too bad in this. I would probably look better at 160 or 150, but I don't think I would scare anyone off the beach.
Hope the link to my image works...0 -
Edit: This isn't necessary any more. The lovely lady figured it out!0

Thanks...I think I got it now!0

I absolutely love this discussion, because I have not even owned a bikini for about 7-8 years because of how uncomfortable I was with my weight. Hopefully this year I will feel good enough about myself to purchase, and actually wear one! This blog is so motivational I love it!0
