Some of you are so uptight! Granted, I live in Australia and I know we have a few Hooters lying around but I havnt been to them, but from what I have read, the girls are covered up and they arent objectified, so whats the big deal?

You haven't been to one, so you don't know. The girls are not fully covered up, they certainly are made objects of attention, and there is an atmosphere that I do not find condusive to raising children. As another poster stated, there are groups of people watching sporting events, cussing, drinking, lots of flirting going on, etc. Nothing wrong with that for adults, but I certainly wouldn't consider that a positive family outing.

Kids will see way worse at the beach than they would at hooters. and the waitresses are usually really good with them. We've taken a couple of my nephews there for their birthdays because they love the attention the waitresses give them.
The girls are not dressed any worse than you would see a girl walking down the street. tank top and shorts with sneakers and high socks. It's definately nothing like what it used to be when I was a kid (and my dad would take be there once in a while. I turned out just fine)
And the food is really good, some of the best buffalo wings I've ever had. and they have a great kids menu. It's not the pornographic taboo that many of you seem to think.

P.S. as some others said, it's not a bunch of skanky girls. It's waitresses (usually working through school) that are fit, so they work there for better tips. Any disrespect towards them is not tolerated. I have seen men get thrown out because they going in thinking its a strip club. Its a regular resturant, the uniforms are just different.

Not sure about your beach outings, but mine don't consist of women walking over to our table to chat with us.

It's not often that I've seen someone dressed in something similar to Hooters' attire just walking dow the street.

I don't think Hooters is adult friendly either, their food is really bad for you.

I take my 5 year old son there with me, and he flirts with the waitresses. It's kinda hilarious. The outfits are more modest than what girls wear at the pool or beach, and let me tell you, my son will flirt with girls there too! Just yesterday we were out at the pool and any girl who walked by us, he would say hi and bat his eyelashes...he's ridiculous.

The tank tops aren't super low cut, they have on thick tights under those orange shorts, with tube socks and white sneakers. I had a couple girlfriends in college who worked there to help pay for school. That's pretty much what most of the girls who work there are doing. I've seen girls walking down the street wearing less than what Hooters girls do. I don't really see what the big deal is, it's not a strip club. It's a fun atmosphere, we can watch some sports, eat some fried pickles (OMG best things on earth) and have a good time.

People really need to lighten up.

The wings at Buffalo Wild Wings are sooooo much better, plus at BBW they don't have feathers in their wings.

So in other words good looking girls don't find you guys interesting to talk to at the beach.
It's not often that I've seen someone dressed in something similar to Hooters' attire just walking dow the street.
Well when you're just walking back and forth to church, I could see why.

I literally live within walking distance of a BWW. It's dangerous.

Exactly. We're there as a family with children. Why would "good looking girls" walk over and talk to us?

Ahhhh, a slam on my being a Christian. What a stand up guy you keep showing yourself to be. What makes you think I "just walk back and forth to church"?

Absolutely not kid friendly in our eyes. We will not go either. Just not something we think is ok.

Why would you even want to take an adult to Hooters? The food is terrible, nevermind even subjecting your kid to it...

Haha, so do I! Dangerous was when I discovered they do take out!
