I was thinking about this group as I was going to bed last night. We're already more than half way through October! Soon, we'll be through the holidays and everyone else will be starting their New Year's Resolution weight loss. We'll be so ahead in our weight loss journeys and feeling great. I'm just so happy and proud to be part of a group who is taking action now and not using this time as a big excuse to gain weight. I think a lot of people will be wowing over all of our hard work during the upcoming holidays.

Awesome post Ali! I am so excited to go to Christmas with family this Christmas and have them say WOW!!! Even if they don't, it feels great to finally be in control of my eating instead of my eating controlling me! Sunday night I had a huge victory. I went into the kitchen in a muchie mood, with no calories left and not really hungry. I opened the cupboards and the fridge and FINALLY talked myself into getting out of the kitchen and doing something else. I have NEVER truly done that before!!! :happy: :happy: :happy: We are all becoming healthier, happier, and stronger women because of what we are doing for ourselves and our loved ones. Have a great week ladies. Let's keep those great numbers coming. And Gina, slow and steady is best so keep it up!!

I finally had the guts to post what I looked liked this summer. The picture was taken in August 2009. I joined MFP in September.The picture of me in the blue bathing suit sent me over the edge.:sad:

Where did everyone go? How is everyone doing this week? I upped my goal from one pound a week to 1.5 pounds a week, and so far I'm having good results. I think this might be my "sweet spot" for calories. I guess I will know in a few weeks if I have better weight loss at my new calorie amount.

well I have been doing great workout wise but slipped up a little yesterday and today on food. It's my TOM and I get some crazy cravings that don't even allow me to t hink when I'm at work. grrr. I know I won't lose an ounce this week. Oh well, last week was great. haha

Hey Gina,
I was looking in the mirror at my side view this morning. I don't look too bad straight on but all my extra weight is pretty much right below my belly button! Ugh! and what I've lost so far looks to have come off my face! I've been meaning to get my son to take a picture so I can post it. I guess I should own up and have him take a side view too so I can see my progress when it comes!

I'm going to the beach tomorrow with my GF and god-daughter. I'll be back on Monday afternoon. I plan on making wise food choices but mostly plan to relax and enjoy my time away from the stress of being a full time caregiver. Hopefully the weather will allow for long walks on the beach. And I hope to do a little shopping .0 -

This week has been going okay so far. I have slipped up here and there, but I have been exercising consistently. Today I took a 35 minute abs class at my gym and almost died . I think I will lose weight this week, I really hope so! I want to be 150 by halloween.0 -

I have been busy with work this week.A good thing to report is I think healthy eating is rubbing off on my kids. My daughter came home from school & was hungry. I suggested sliced chicken On a fiber one roll & she ate it. My 2 older daughter have been doing the old Jane Fonda workout with me & they love it. My daughter Colleen had to run the mile in school and she beat all the girls and three boys of the boys in her gym class. :happy:

thnx mamacindy! As you can see I also carry a lot of my weight below the waist, but it will come off in due time. I wish some more of it came off my face so I could see my cheekbones again. haha. Well have a great wkend on the beach. Plan to take a bunch of healthy snacks like fruits, non perishable veggies like carrots maybe to dip in hummus. I really like those.

I had a GREAT weigh-in this morning! I'm down 3 more pounds this week, for a total of 12 lbs! That puts me at 233. Almost back in the 220s...0

Hi! I'm happy about my weigh in yesterday. I lost almost 2 lbs. since last week. I currently weigh 152.6 lbs. So close to the 140's! Probably won't make it to my exact goal of 150lbs. by halloween, but so close!0

I am so HAPPY about my weigh in today!! My husband and I drove home from Colorado. And I was worried, not sure I wanted to step on the scale!! But I am down 4 lbs.!!! Yeah ME!!!0

Sorry my results are late! We moved over the weekend and just got our internet hooked up today. My weight was 149 this week!!! Down 2.5 lbs and in the 140's!!! :happy: It has been a rough few days for me though. I haven't been able to log food, and I know I have been eating more than normal. I have also been doing very physical stuff though. I plan on getting back on track tomorrow. On top of all this, it's my TOM right now. Oh well, hopefully I just haven't GAINED this week! :grumble: Missed you all while I was away. So glad to be back.

Hello! This morning's weigh in was 232.5, so I lost half a pound this week. It's not a lot but it's my TOM so I was actually expecting to gain a pound. So, I was thrilled to lose half a pound this week. Hopefully this means next week will be a really good loss. I hope everyone had (or is having) a great Halloween!

wow everyone is doing great! i havent reported a weight loss (or gain :S) cuz I have been afraid to do it. Haven't been focused. but this week I will definately do my very best and weigh in after I know I have put osme hard work in. I hope that's not cheating, I just don't want to see a weight gain and be dissapointed and really lose all motivation.0

Well I weighed in this morning and was very delighted!!! I am down to 147.5. Down 1.5 lb. :happy: I was expecting a smaller loss this week so I was so excited!!! Hope you all have a successful weigh in and we'll talk more soon.

The scale is finally my friend. Today's weight is 125.2 yeah!!!!! It's working the weight is finally coming off. I made it through Hallowen & only had a snack size nestle crunch. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

So how are all you ladies doing??? There haven't been many posts from our group lately and I am just wondering how all of you are doing? I am having an ok week. Not great, but not bad either. I have been walking 2 miles a day but I'm having a hard time getting my third mile done. We just got done moving today (it took a week and a half to get completely done!) and my body is just worn out! :ohwell: I haven't done terrible eating by any means, but I know I need to be working on making even better choices. I just feel sluggish with not getting that extra mile in the last couple days. Hoping I feel better tomorrow and can get my FULL workout in.
Hope all you ladies are doing well and staying on track this week. Please feel free to drop a message to say how you are doing or let me know if you need some extra motivation. Hope you are all having a blessed week.

Hi Jessica,
Moving sure takes a toll on your body. Reorganizing everything it changes your whole rountine. I have been staying on track. My kids had off Thursday& Friday so I have been busy keeping them occupied. i have also been planning my daughters 14 th birthday party. Hope all is well with everybody. I had a really good weigh in this morning! I'm down to 230.5!! I'm almost back into the 220s, which is the higher of my "normal" weights. My body is pretty comfortable and it's pretty easy for me to maintain around 185 and again around 220. I hope that doesn't mean I'm up for a plateau in about 10 lbs.
The biggest changes I've had so far in the past 14.5 lbs are mostly in the food choices I'm making (especially in quantity) and I've really stopped eating when I'm bored. I've only been doing this about 6 weeks, and I only eat when I'm hungry. That's a big deal for me since I stay at home all day, and I used to have a really bad habit of eating a ton of snacks between lunch and dinner. And then at dinner time I wouldn't even be hungry, but I would eat because it was "dinner time."
Even for the one meal a week I just take off and don't worry about going over calories, the portions are getting much smaller and I'm not really craving them or looking forward to them as much as I used to. Today, I made cake truffles (cooked and then crumbled box of carrot cake mix, stirred together with homemade cream cheese icing, and then dipped in white candy coating) and I ate the little pieces left in the bowl, and then had two of them for dessert. I think I'm sending the rest of them off to my fiance's work on Monday since they are very good, but the recipe made way more than I expected and I really don't think I will eat them.
