Thinking of doing this
I am almost finished with Jillian Michaels Body Revolution. I am close to my goal weight (about 7-9 lbs away) and I have toned up A LOT! I want to tone up more, especially lower body. I have ordered the NROL4W book and it should be here in the next day or so. I would love to start this program because I am loving the…

Just finished Stage 1 - Results
Really enjoyed it! I had already reached my goal weight when I started but I am much more toned now and my butt doesn't wobble like it use to! Progress pic in my profile pic on the left. I used to do cardio every day and now I am just doing lifting every other day with the odd walk or zumba class here and there. Gains:…

Start or Wait??
Hi All, I bought this book almost a month ago and haven't started yet. I'm in the middle of Brazil Butt Lift and wanting to start my 2nd Round of Insanity next week. All that being said, I know it's not wise to try to do Insanity and NROL4W. I have some more weight i want to lose and Insanity helped a lot. . .BUT my…

Lunge question...
In the book it says to alternate legs, starting on the non-dominant leg, and complete the reps on each leg for each set - 15 per set total or 30? Does that even make sense?

FINALLYYYY
Today I did the first workout of stage one (1A). I have been terrified of the gym since december (when I bought the book!) but FINALLY did it. I bought my friend a guest pass to the gym (she lifted weights in high school so she was not nervous about the weight room at all) and we did the workout. and it was good!. I was…

Time Required to Complete Each Workout (A/B), by Stage
Hi all, I'm nearing the end of Stage 1, and have been able to (just barely) squeeze the workouts into my lunch break at work. But, I've seen a couple times in posts that the other stages take more time to complete each workout. Can someone give me a breakdown of how many minutes the A/B workouts in each stage take? I'm…

Stupid question...
So, when you log the weight you used for the exercises that require dumbbells vs. the barbell do you put the total weight or just the weight of one dumbbell? I know, stupid question.

Injured Hand - Modify Excercises?
Help! I've injured the back of my hand - I believe it is tendonitis - going to Dr today to confirm. But it was while my hand was bent back. So I don't have any pain while doing most of the exercises but I am concerned re: prone jackknifes and push ups - I'm currently doing 45 degree pushups - do you think there is a mod.…

Not even done with stage 1 and psyched about results!
I'm 5'8" and I started at 240 in May 2012, was doing cardio and low cal (1400 net/day) and hit a major plateau around 215 in August. Until about January when I reduced even more (most days between 900 and 1200), but it wasn't sustainable. I was around 208 when I started NROL4W at the end of March. I'm still in stage 1…

Go my barbell and dumbbells today starting NROL4W next week
So I went out and invested in the barbell and the dumb bells so ready to start . Now next month I will invest in a squat rack and the bench.

Need some suggestions today, starting tomorrow!
I joined our small little gym in town so I could have more resources to start this program. My gym does not have barbell or plate weights. We only have machines and dumbbells. SO I have to make the most out of what I got until I can afford to invest in my own barbell and plates. Anyways, I've been through 30DS and 6 weeks…

NROLFW Stage 1 Results
So here it is, the long awaited results of stage 1 of New Rules of Lifting for Women. I am beyond exhausted of it. I was so ready for a change and am so excited(as killer as stage 2 has started already--) I didn't do the bonus workout at the end with the AMRAP because I left my spreadsheet of what I started with at work…

Disappointing Stage 1 Results
I just finished Stage 1 of NROL4W. My results are not very motivating. I took pictures and measurements and tried not to let the scale get me down but in the end my body doesn't feel different. Day 1A Scale: 165 Squat - Olympic bar Seated Cable Row - 20lbs Push Up - 45 Degree Dumbbell Step Us - 10lb (each arm) Exercise…

ISO NROL4W Friends on MFP
Hi ladies, I joined MFP in January, and have lost 19 lbs so far using an "eat less, move more" approach. I didn't like the "eat less" part of that equation, though... I tend to get kinda grumpy when I am consuming too few calories! After looking for a better way, I started NROL4W on April 1 and I love it! Everything from…

Bench press - how to avoid facial injury?? lol
Ok, so upped my weights to 10kg (22lbs) for a combined weight of 20 kg (44lbs). How in heck do I get the weights 'up' without a spotter? Thankfully people were about to help me today, but I couldn't get them in position without fear of dropping them on my face! Any tips? xx

Has anyone seen "The Croods" movie?
I love how the female protagonist in this film is a STRONG young woman. At one point, her "love interest" turns to her and exclaims, "You're heavy!" to which she replies, "Thank you!" Loved it and thought of you all! :) Keep on lifting! P.S. There is a scene where EPE (sp?) swings around and my 7 year old daughter…

Just getting started - any advice?
Hi All, I just finished Workouts 1A & 1B this week & boy is my bootay sore! So far I really like the workout. Is there anything that you all wish you had done diffrently or anything that I should watch out for? Before I started NROL4W I was going to the gym 5-6 days a week, 3 body sculpt classes, 1 kickbox cardio, 1…

Do shoes matter?
I saw a post somewhere (goodness knows I can't remember where!) about cross training/ walking/ running shoes not being good for lifting. I'm having some balance issues in the gym (damn single-leg romanian deadlift!) and thought my shoes may be to blame. Do shoes matter? If so, what should I be using for lifting? Thanks!!

Stage 1 Seated Rows
I am REALLY excited to get started this morning with stage 1 :) I just have a question about the seated rows. From the illustrations in the book it looks like she's using an adjustable cable and sitting on the floor with a plate to keep her feet out enough? We do have one of those at the gym, but I've never seen anyone do…

I am 5'7" weight right now is between 158-165 depending on the day and I have some serious fluff in the mid section. lunge question
hey all - I'm have a strange pain in my non working leg during lunges (whether static or regular). I feel a pull in the non working leg quads that makes it all much more difficult. Any advice on what I could be doing wrong or what I can do differently? Thanks!

Nervous About Gymming it
I am currently awaiting my copy of NROL and I really want to make a good go of it. I have some dumbbells at home (the max weight is 5kg I think) but I think that I'm only goi ng to get the best out of this program if I go to the gym to do. I am SO nervous about going to the gym though, with all of the bloody posing men,…

Finished NROL4W! My results....
I don’t normally like to post pictures of myself for complete strangers on the internet, but I thought this might be somewhat motivating for those of you who are just starting and/or have a lot of fat to lose. In May 2012, I was completely out of shape, doing nothing but some horseback riding and walking. I had 3 kids in 3…

Probably a stupid question....
Hey! Ok, I'm hoping to start NROL4W next week, I've been reading and familiarising myself with the routines and ideal form etc so I feel ready to start. But, I'll be using the local gym as I don't have the equipment so I was wondering if you guys took paperwork or anything to make a note of the weights you used as I would…

1 Month in Dilemma!
Hi All, I started NROLFW a month ago and have been loving it! I've seen large improvements in my strength (specifically how much I can deadlift: 55lb while feeling like I'm dying to 70lb without problem, 80 tomorrow :) ) BUT today was my 1 month weigh in/measure to make sure I picked the right calorie goals aaaand it…
