Breathing Article for New Runners
Hey, all! I am on Week 6 of C25K. My body is working great but I often find myself struggling to breathe. The C25K app I use posted this great article on Facebook and I wanted to share it in case anyone else was experiencing the same issues as me!…

Picking it back up!
So I've decided now that I'm going to the gym again that I WILL be working on the c25k again. I actually have felt comfortable picking it up at week 4. Wish me luck!

Race 2 tomorrow
Ok so I ran my first 5k in mid June and I ran most of it but according to my app it was actually 5.50km. I was still progressing through early week 7 of the c25k program and was not ready for this 5.5 surprise. I was still pretty excited to finish, so I signed up for another one which is scheduled for tomorrow. Well since…

Completed C25K today
I finished that last run in C25K today. I'm not quite running at the 5k distance, but getting there. I blogged about my total experience and what I have learned along the way here, if you wish to look: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/nolongerXXL/view/fat-girls-dairy-of-jogging-xxxi-c25k-graduate-555332 :flowerforyou:

Eating them back
How many of you eat back your exercise calories when you run? Currently I am on week 5(starting w5d2 today), and have been burning close to 350 cals a run so my polar ft4 says. I was eating back most to all of those calories I burned but I am noticing a stall in weight loss and have just been feeling really heavy and blah.…

W1D1
I tried this last year and got up to week 5 but couldnt do it so I gave up. This time Im going to do it and if I cant pass a week Ill stay on that week until I can. I also used the treadmill but this time im getting out and doing it out side. I have come to the point I dont cant care who is watching my. At least im out…

Finally! My first 5K race!!!!
I just ran my first 5K race today and finished in 36:39:18. I was feeling a little bummed when my best effort only put me ahead of 3 people...and I was dueling with them for that spot! I turned it on in the last 1/4 mile, so much so that I felt like I might vomit at the finish. I've now heard that this was not a typical…

New to the C25K
Hi all, back in high school i use to be a cross country runner, but as the years, work and new motherhood went on my running has become pretty non existent. Im looking forward to this program to help me get my groove back. Any advice/ suggestions on what worked for everyone else to get through the program? Thanks all!

Feet issues
I am currently on week 8 of c25k and have been putting bandage tape on my feet since week 2 of running because I got a skin tear on the bottom of my toe pad. I did research on it and found I should use a pedi stone after showers and put lots of good lotion on my feet before bed with white sock. I hate socks!!! I only wear…

Last week of the C25K!
Today I start the last week of the program. I remember being so afraid when the runs got extended to 5 minutes, and today I'm almost giddy with anticipation at running 25 minutes! I do have a question for all those that have completed this program. Once you completed it, what did you do afterwards? The running app that I'm…

High and dry versus low and humid
I live in the high dessert of Arizona at just shy of 5k feet. I thought that it would be easier to run while on vacation up in Ohio because I am much closer to sea level. Boy was I WRONG!!! The humidity makes running miserable! It is impossible for sweat to evaporate to cool me off so every run has been spent huffing and…

How fast is a "run"
How fast should you be running? Would it vary for everyone or is there a set speed you should aim for?

A few questions
What do you do on off days? I did the first 2 days back to back because I am so pumped up and excited. I am taking today off as my knees get sore toward the end of the run. I want to workout today though not sure what to do. Also I am not sure my form is good. Can you give me pointers on good form. I read yesterday your…

Heel / Achilles Tendon pain
I have had absolutely no pain when I run for the past two months, the entirety of my running career. I have however been having intermitent heel and/or Achilles tendon pain in my right foot when I walk. It seems to get worse after a run, yet never bothers me at all during the run. I don't believe I'm coming down on the…

I graduated today!
Woohoo! I didn't officially run 5k - yet - but I'll be getting there. Still have time to practice and am a heck of a lot more than when I started. So, all in all, I feel successful. Now I'm preparing for my first 5K event. My question is: how do you prepare? My run is at 8am. I usually run in the evening after I've eaten…

Just started
Hi all I just started a very similar running program to C25K from the book Running Made Easy which runs for 10 weeks and ends at 5k. The only difference I can see is the walk period of the runs, mine are a little bit longer and the over all duration is a little shorter than C25K. I used to do weightlifting but since I…

W6 D1 knee pain
I finished it today but the knee pain was not something I have experienced, til now. I haven`t done anything differently same shoes which I got fitted for at The Running Room. I have taken a break for a few days from running as I was to busy to get much exercise in. I am wondering if it could be the road I am running on,…

I think I can do this...
Today I ran for 3 minutes. Not just once, but a few times. If you had told me two weeks ago, when running for one minute seemed almost like dying, that I would not only run for 3 minutes, but almost enjoy it, I would have told you you were crazy. Looking ahead to next week and the week after and freaking out serves no…

Just Finished Week 1 Day 1 - Shin Splints
Yesterday I planned on starting the C25K, but I ended up waking up early in the morning and not feeling well. I moved my start day to today. I woke up this morning and it was raining (note to self - buy a treadmill or get a membership). I'm not surprised - it's been raining for ages around here. I walked back to my house…

5k in 8 weeks too ambitious?
Hello! I just restarted the c25k program this week after vacation. I had only gotten a week and a half in before. I really want to sign up for a 5k to motivate myself, but the latest one scheduled for my area is the weekend I am supposed to finish week 9. Is this unrealistic, or were most of you actually able to complete a…

ditching the app?
So I am on week 8, and I think I've decided to run without the app. It seems like a lot less pressure without it... I know that probably makes no sense. I ran without the app on Saturday (just running to do it, not part of the program that day), and I was able to just "unplug" without thinking about how far I'd gone or…

Heat/Humidity and Running
I like warm weather personally, and have complained about the lack of it we have had in my area this summer thus far. I just realized that it may have actually benefited me when it comes to learning to run. The Mother Nature issues I have dealt with so far has been storms and/or rain but after reading a few posts about…

I ran my first 5k!
I finished my first ever "official" race at 26:35. I have NEVER been a runner, and I can say without a doubt now I am hooked! This program completely changed my life. Good luck to all those who are just beginning - If I can become a runner, so can you!

Frustrated
After feeling amazing completing W5D3 I have really struggled with W6D1&2 :( It has been humid here in UK (were finally getting some sun) but I can't just blame it on that! Any advice? Surely after running 20min, 10min stints should feel much better?.! Xox

DFL and a Medal...
I ran my second 5K today in the muggy July heat. I matched my PB of 36:39. Yay! Right? Well...I was also DFL. (That is Dead F'in Last.) The ambulance followed me the whole way (see photo of my running team members!). However, in a funny twist of fate, I also medalled! Yes! Second in my age division. Gotta love it :-)!!!

Active App
I know this is a C25K group, however, I'm guessing that many people have finished C25K and might be looking for something more. There is a 5k to 10k app for your phone through Active. It includes 3 days a week of running and is terrific. To everyone still working on C25K--keep it up! You'll feel so great when you finish!!

Running my first 5k on the 4th of July
July 5th is supposed to be my final day of the C25K program, but this 4th of July run is just too good an opportunity to miss. I live in Vancouver, Canada, but will be visiting Santa Monica, CA in July. The "Red, White and Blue 5k/10k/half-marathon/marathon" is being held within walking distance of where I'll be staying. I…

Am I the only one that is really slow?
I noticed both the c25k and b210k say you will be running a 5k when you reach the 30 minute running mark. That means you will be running a mile in less than 10 minutes. I am on week 7 and run a slow 1.2 (I thought it was1.5 until I remeasured today) miles in 25 minutes. I just don't see myself increasing my speed enough in…
