  • It’s a great global challenge! I started “Dedicate” today (a bit late) in the UK and my pal in Indiana USA is starting her journey tonight! I have been practicing yoga on and off for 20 years and found the pace and strength of the class just the right amount of challenge and awareness. Bring on 2019!
  • I’ll start on Monday - but will do some elements (jacks and crunches) on my bellicon (trampoline/rebounder) to avoid impact and to make sure I use the damn thing that cost me £400 last New Year... 🤣
  • I will join in with you both, if I may? I started a few years ago and also got injured so will modify the routine to accommodate my twinges but I’d like to start a new exercise routine next year. I will be following 5:2 (16:8) intermittent fasting as my eating plan - once we are thru with Christmas and the new year. I have…
  • Starting over in earnest tomorrow (having a practice day today!!) .. Been doing Johnson Up Day Down Day (JUDD) and 5:2 since Moseley's show on the BBC but plateaued... Now trying with a low-carb kickstart after re-reading some science about fats and proteins... Good luck everyone.
  • I am doing Johnsons Up day Down day diet. There's a calculator on the website depending on your plan, height and weight. I was plateauing so used 5:2 to kick start my weightloss. I now have average BMI but body fat too high - so I am sub 400 on a dd and no more than 1200 on an up day and I am loving it. Much brighter, more…
  • Been doing a traditional eat less move more diet at 1200 per day. Starting JUDDD tomorrow and the calc said a whopping 1800 up days and 350 down days! Youch that will be hard... but determined to give this shot. I only have a little to lose but been plateau'ed since May ... Advice needed : shall I keep to 300 in my…
  • Hi I am Tara and another experimental JUDDDer after seeing the Horizon programme. I start tomorrow as a down day and am planning to coincide my up days with my exercise fix. Happy to make new friends so feel free to add me. Wish me luck.
  • I googled JUDDD (Johnson's up days down days diet) and found a calculator for my height and weight. 1800 for up days & 350 for down days. Glad I checked as I would have happily munched though the extra 200 calories. SO...day one tomorrow. I welcome new friends for support. Tara
  • I am another person who was charmed by the ADF concept on Horizon last night so after far too long on google afterwards I have a question abou the fasting day "feeding window" Is it enough just to restrict to 400 cals over the day or should the calories be consumed in one "meal" I read 12 - 2pm was the control used in the…
  • Polar are market leaders in my opinion. I have an F11 it about 8 years old. Customer service excellent; mine is waterproof so I can log my swimming! I needed battery replaces, and needed the seal watertight: excellent swift service. HRMs are addictive! remember this when you are lying in a darked room trying to get the…
  • (TMI warning) I drink lemon and hot water when I am constipated. Seems to get things moving.
  • 5ft on the nose: Current weight 132. Current measurements Bust - 38 (under bust 31) Waist 28 Hips 39. Goal weight keeps shifting: Aiming for sub 125, and will be over the moon if I get to 115 without looking dead! I love my curves but frankly my chest gets in the way at yoga! :blushing: Good luck on your journeys; add me…
  • PLEASE DO - this madness HAS to stop!
  • Lobotomy is the only thing that will get you your desired thigh gap. And if you DO ever achieve this hallowed status: kiss good bye to your health, your fertility, your very being as a woman! Please realise what you see in the magazines is all photo-shopped to death, and this image is unhealthy and unsustainable. I don't…
  • It's the community: the daily support; the wise words, the encouragement on the low days; and the high fives on the highs. There are those on long journeys; with big health issues; and others with a little to lose who need a bit of a shove to get to the goal... The logging is critical to me; I was eating way over what I…
  • Hi Folks, IT REALLY WORKS I have been on here since 01.01.12 as a firm new years resolution and just wanted to say as a way of encouragement this is the best most effective weight loss I have ever ever achieved. You reap what you sow - so get involved with making pals, (add me as your first if you are shy) commenting,…
  • I am in the "downward dog is tough" camp too. Loving Matsyasana at the moment as I am playing a lot of raquet sports and its a great stretch. I do it with a block sometimes to really let go. I struggle with all forward bends but the weight loss is really helping. I am big busted and they just get in the blooming way!!…
  • I started last weekend and by Tuesday I couldn't move my arms (2kg weights in each hand too much as a start) so now healed and rested (sort of) I am happy to start again. I log it at as Circuits General... and i will be doing it every other day ( I do squash and yoga mid week too) It does work, but listen to your body or…
  • Yes, I am on day 3 of 30 day shred (£3.99 for level 1 on Itunes to view on a laptop somewhere) and my arms are sore. It must do some good. Good luck!
  • Just started on Saturday and ache like I haven't ached in a long long time. Arms mostly! Was gonna pass on day 3 and have a rest day - but these pics have made me say - hell NO - do it! Work through it girl! Great results: thank you for sharing! T
  • Saturday 11 FEB 2012 Day 1 Level 1 I thought I would manage - but OH NO! I can barely lift my glass of wine. Boy this is going to burn - but the payback will be good. Happy to make more friends for motivation! Good Luck people! Stick at it !
  • Tracking has done wonders for my portion control. I was also regularly going 300 cals over every day; and at weekend - do not even think about logging the wine and cheese and snacks! Total eye opener to stick to 1200 - I was fooled into the thinking that I could have 2000 calories coz the packet said so! (not when you are…
  • I have been doing yoga for years and still cant get my feet flat, and trying to ruins my breathing. Don't concentrate on where your feet are but where your breath is going, if you cant breathe you are trying too hard. The stretch should be in the shoulders and spine not your hamstrings; save that for your forward bends.…
  • Laura Mercer at Space NK (Mail order or store) It is expensive - BUT it lasts for AGES and AGES I promise (and it doesn't split like some primers do) and you are doing so well with your weight loss journey you deserve a treat. I like the Debenhams idea too - pamper yourself. Mid week is nicer you get more time and better…
  • I sent my F11 back with the strap - in one instance they replaced my transmitter unit for free. ...and if you want it to stay waterproof for swimming etc. - don't do it yourself! T
  • I haven't had the stamina to read through all the comments back to you; and I know I will get upset. Screw the exercise benefits -being outdoors where ever, you are - city coast or countryside - is mentally and spiritually beneficial! It is a bonus that you are moving. Stick to walking honey! Being outside is brilliant!…
  • Dont dismiss "out of date" food either. The bad boys here are the supermarkets and stores. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1024879/The-best-challenge---One-man-boldly-goes-use-dates-food.html Whilst this is a UK example the stores put dates on food so you throw it out and BUY more food!! I regularly eat food…
  • I plan to start this again when my general fitness is back up to it, and the North West Uk weather is better. Swimming is my thing at the moment. I have started couch to 5 k with a few guided mp3 audio apps (Robert Ullrey is a free one, OK GO do a good one too for ipod) but I tried to get through the weeks too fast and…
  • Me: 5ft 1in 37 years old, North West UK. SW 01 JAN 2012 64.1KG 141.02LB Wk1 08 JAN 2012 63.2KG 139.04LB Mid week weigh in gave me 62.8KG/138.16LB but I haven't moved much this weekend, but I did do my target 3 sets of exercise tis week! Three times more than in the past 6 months! Generally - all moving in the right…
  • I used to be! I did their online system red/green days and it worked in part, but my problem with portion control and SW was not a good way to combat that, as generally you can eat lots! i prefer to calorie count as it makes most sense to me! Happy to answer any questions, (if you have any) and hope you find othe SWs to…
