  • Hi, I think you already have a fantastic attitude in that you know your weaknesses (expecting quick results) and you've worked out a way to stay motivated, by concentrating on that great post-workout feeling, so well done already! My advice would be to stay off the scales if you can, or at least limit your…
  • Hi, Why don't you try free weights instead of the machines? It's much better, and just as effective if you use light weights, you just need to do more reps. There should be staff at your gym who can show you the basics. Good luck!
  • Not pathetic at all, seize the opportunity Krash and you seem like a lovely guy, I'm sure you'll find the right person soon x
  • If you're not running a fever, I'd exercise lightly, try a nice, brisk walk outside, the fresh air will do you good, unless you live somewhere very hot, in which case I'd go for a leisurely swim. Hope you feel better soon xx
  • Nice one Krash......from your friend in her cardboard box in t' middle of road, sharing with 24 others......but we're 'appy!
  • Well done! It's lovely when people notice, isn't it?
  • Hi Jellybean, You can do it and you'll get lots of support on here. Add me as a friend if you like, I'm not as beastly as I sound lol! Laura x
  • LOL! I do that stretch too, I can imagine how you looked to your patient
  • I agree with the comments about how low some of the calorie consumption is, especially if you are exercising regularly as well. I know we primarily use this site to lose weight, and I have done, but I'm increasingly altering my viewpoint to make my goal staying fit and healthy. I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to…
  • Hi, I'll join you. It is an unhealthy habit. I was moaning to a trainer friend the other day that I hadn't lost any weight in 2 months, but my clothes are looser and people have commented on my weight "loss". His advice was to chuck out the scales and make getting fit and healthy my goal. So, I'm going to carry on watching…
  • Hi, Add me if you like.I've been on here since February and had some really good results but I've hit a bit of a plateau lately. Just changed my goals and slightly changed my workouts (I had been training for an endurance event but that's done now) so I'm getting in to a new routine. Could do with some support and very…
  • Lucy, I grew up in Mitcham and spent a large part of my life in Croydon, and lots of my family are still there. Cannot believe what is happening, the sheer viciousness of it. My thoughts are with you and your colleagues. Chin up, girl. Laura xx
  • I know exactly how you feel, got to escape from the tyranny of constantly weighing myself, it's driving me mad, too! I'm with you all the way xxx
  • Don't give up, you've been doing so well! I lose really slowly too. I've been on this since 14th February and I've lost 12lbs, but I'm actually very proud of that. I have around 14lbs to go and my trainer told me on my current record it will take me 6 months to lose that, but that's ok with me. I do fluctuate a little but…
  • This is really interesting as I find it hard to do nothing on my rest days. I usually go mad with housework, but it's good to know I could go for a gentle walk or leisurely swim. I often take a few days off the gym after a long walk as I just get wiped out, and thn I usually swim and spend some time in the steam room.…
  • Well done you! Enjoy the compliment and remember how good that felt when you're having a down day
  • Hello! Happy to motivate you and anyone else as long as I get a little motivation in return. I love the site and I hope you will too
  • Hi, Totally agree with the above post. I know it's sounds bonkers, but you have to eat (right) to lose weight. Your poor body is in panic mode and holding on to that fat cos it's not sure when it's gonna get some food! You only saw your doctor a week ago. Give it time to work, stop worrying about losing weight and start…
  • Hi, I just got a Polar FT4 off ebay for £48. It's really simple to use and gives you cals burned but also how long you are working in your optimum bpm zone, so you can be sure you're burning fat not muscle. I'd recommend it:smile:
  • Hi and welcome! Now don't be put off, but cold porridge is a fantastic, low fat snack that will really fill you up and keep releasing energy for hours. I make it with a banana, some blueberries, some sultanas and skimmed milk, and just a drizzle of honey. Two normal sized breakfast bowls gives you enough for three day's…
  • Hi, I've lost 10lbs and have 14lbs to go, so not too far off your target too. I really like this site and have found it very supportive, regardless of the amount you want to lose. Feel free to add me as a friend and good luck! PS I'm the one on the left in the cowboy hat in the photo:smile:
  • Hi and welcome! You sound like your head's already in the right place and that's half the battle won:smile: I hope you find the site as supportive and inspirational as I have. Feel free to add me as a friend, I could do with some extra encouragement over the next few weeks as I'm approaching a big challenge - walking 62…
  • Hi, I just bought an FT4 off ebay for £48, should have been £70. I'm really pleased with it and already noticing a huge difference in the cals recorded by my polar and those on MFP. For example, I just walked 10 miles in 3 hours 20 mins and MFP logs that as around 800 cals, but my Polar recorded 1179 and I know it's…
  • Welcome Enela! I hope you find this site as inspirational and supportive as I have, feel free to add me as a friend (I'm the one on the far left in the photo!)
  • I agree with the other posts, only you can find the motivation somewhere inside you, but I will say this, maybe you're setting your goals too high? Ok, you had a bit of a binge over the weekend. It's not the end of the world. Accept you fell off the wagon, you're not perfect, but you're doing your best to change. I hope…
  • Well.....I was thinking of wearing my Polar whilst doing the deed lol
  • LOL! I thought you were going to say you were a few hours late, but 2 days! Definitely early onset, mate  Mind you, I got a new Polar FT4 yesterday and managed to set it to German which is not helpful when the onlty thing I can do in German is order a beer. Finally sorted it after a trawl around Google. Good luck…
  • Well done! Doesn't it feel good when your hard work pays off
  • Hi, The porridge goes all creamy and tastes very much like rice pudding, even if you make it with skimmed milk  Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • Hi and welcome to the site. I'm sure you'll find it really supportive, I certainly have. I've sent a friend request:smile: You achieved so much before with your weight loss, I'm sure you can do it again. Laura xx Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
