Need a Brah Meal Plan
Yeah you heard me. After I have my last kid, I do not even want to think about food. I just want to do it. I will be doing IF, lifting, and running.....so give me your lazy-no-thinking-required-just-eat-this-ish meals. I'll get my calories in check with the meals. (Disclaimer: not my usual way of cutting)

Picky 3 year old
Didn't know what board to post this on so I will do it here. My almost 4 year old is so picky and it's driving me crazy. I think it's beyond like just toddler pickiness. It's textures and the way food looks that bother him. And he will hardly try anything new. He had a meltdown because his dad had him try potato soup the…

Jessica Simpson Proud of her killer legs during workout
http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-body/news/jessica-simpson-proud-of-her-killer-legs-during-workout-picture-2014175 Go Jessica. Getting ish done in the gym. But really, the comments at the end of this article are so ridiculous. "Not a good look, real women that balance their families, work and working out deserve credit…

Grip Strength
Deadlifted 212# yesterday and my grip in my left hand sucks. Completed the lift but was losing focus because I felt my grip going. I've been doing farmer's walks (40 lb dbs 50 yards, 4 sets) and rack pulls. I use mixed grip. Anything else in my form to be aware of or a lift I can do to improve? Searched the forum and…

Why Women Lift
We see a lot of threads asking "why don't women lift?" Well.....let's do a spin thread. Say it loud, say it proud....what are the reasons women DO lift. 1. I have two kids now...I don't have time to spend forever and ever working out. I want to get in and get it done. More bang for the buck (burning more calories AFTER I…

Front squat - wrist pain.
Yesterday I did front squats, repped @ 109 lbs. I am pretty sure I could have done more as far as my lower half goes, but my wrist felt like they were going to break. I have watched a few youtube videos on technique. Keeping my grip closer, elbows high. I tried cross-arm and didn't really like it. I don't really know why.…

Extremely slow process...but maybe? (pics)
29 years old 5'7" 163 lbs Roughly 27% BF. I *think* I may have just a bit more definition in my shoulders. I've been lifting heavy consistently for 2 months, 4 times a week. I guess I just want to remind myself, and maybe others, that changing your body is a slow process for most of us. Monday I did shoulders and benched…

Funny fitness/diet pictures...just...no...
I saw a picture on another thread that was some sort of professional photo and it was awful. I know we've done funny fitness memes before...but let's try to find the best WTF pictures that are supposed to be serious. Like for an ad or promotional thing.... This is the one from the other thread:

Body Fat %
I am 5'7, 164, current bf% 27.4. It was 29% in October. So it's down 2 from then without really trying. I can't remember what I weighed then. I am trying to figure out what my realistic goal should be for my body fat %. Anyone have any pointers??

Wanted to say hello.
I am new to this group but not to MFP. I have been on here since 2009. I actually didn't even know groups existed here. Anyway, I gained about 24+ lbs in college and by the time I graduated I got it off, first by using WW then just by exercising and portion control and drinking more water. I've kept the weight off for…

Improving/changing running technique?
I'm trying to change my running form. I've discovered I land on my heel. I know this is a no-no and has probably been the cause of some major hip pain in the past. So, tonight while running on the treadmill, I practiced landing mid-ball or whatever and kicking my heel to butt. When I did this, my calves burned, I landed…

Your grocery store staples
I know this has been done before but let's do it again! I cook at home most of the time so I've got the meals down...but I'm looking for more snack variety (especially while I'm at work! I've been trying to eat about 6 meals a day). What are some of your favorite healthy snacky-snacks? (Also, include some of your main…

MFP Runner's Club - May 18
Happy Monday! I hope I've not overlooked our thread... I just got finished with 5 miles. The first 5k of what I consider my "running season" is this Saturday. I'm excited! I'm running with my best friend so I know we are going to have a blast. Hope everyone has had a good day and a good run or workout or rest today.

How to cook Turkey Fillets
I got these turkey fillets at the grocery the other day. I am thinking about putting some cajun seasoning on them and baking. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Can you gain muscle while in calorie deficit?
I've been reading some articles on this and think it is interesting...especially since people always say, "Oh, you are just gaining muscle probably..." when trying to lose weight and the scale goes up. http://www.gain-weight-muscle-fast.com/lose-fat-gain-muscle.html Getting a net loss in body fat and a net gain in muscle…

At Home BF% Scales
I know these things can't be completely accurate but are they pretty close? Of course, I've heard about them for a while now and I read upon how they work. Are they worth the investment? I would really like to be able to track BF% for myself if possible because I really don't even care about how much I weigh right now.…

MFP Runner's Club - 4/17
Thought I would go ahead and start the thread this morning! I hope everyone's Friday has started out wonderfully! Yesterday was such a great run. Beautiful weather, good pace. I felt like I could go for miles and miles. Today is another beautiful day and I plan on taking full advantage of it this evening after I get off…

Protein and Sodium
I was advised by you guys here at MFP to dump some of my carbs and eat more protein. I think this is a good idea, especially since along with my running and basketball, I am lifting 4 days a week and really trying to push myself. So, I tried it out about two days at the beginning of last week. I felt AWWWWFUL. I know it…

Just wanted to say that Giiiirrrrllllll, you are looking GOOD! I can't get over your new AV. It's awesome! Great job! I didn't see a post from you about your progress and thought you deserved a shout-out!

Cutting Carbs
Okay, so based on the suggestion of the lovely members of the MFP boards, and my own preference I want to cut my carbs down. So, I changed my goals today to 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fats. Which gives me about 83 grams of carbs per day. Is this enough? Or should I eat less carb-o-liciousness?

Annoyed not-so-newbie.
I am frustrated. Since kicking up my cardio (running, doing interval workouts) and lifting occasionally, I have gained 3 pounds. So now, not only had I lost 1 pound 2 months, but I've also put 3 back on. Don't say it's muscle, because I just don't think that's true. I am fairly muscular, but I don't think I can GAIN muscle…

Treadmills
Hubby and I are wanting to get a treadmill for running. There is a used Proform C 525 Treadmill with ProTech X2 cushioning, that I am supposed to go look at tomorrow for a pretty good price. However, reading reviews online it says this is not really a runners treadmill. Anyone know anything about it?

Body Frame Size?
How do you determine this? I don't want to be one of those people that are mistakingly "big-boned". I do feel like my bone structure is fairly large. I found this online: http://www.icb2001.com/What_You_Should_Weigh.asp Dumb? Right on?

Female Teenager's Calories Per Day
How many calories should a female teenager consumer per day? From research I've done around the net, seems like it's probably 2200. I'm guessing that is to maintain their weight, because they had factored in "growth calories".

The lady that just had the 8 babies...
People are saying she is trying to look like Angelina Jolie. I don't know about that HOWEVER, she responded by saying she's never had any plastic surgery done. Really?? So what do you all think? I wish the media would stop talking to her and doing stories about her. I think she's had so many kids for this type of attention…

Popcorn at a ballgame
I eat a lot of popcorn at basketball games this time of year. I've tried to estimate how many calories would be in a bag that you would typically buy at a ballgame. I would say there at 4-6 cups in a bag. How many calories do you think would be in this type of popcorn? Obviously it's popped in a popcorn machine, not in the…
