Feet/Hands fall asleep during cardio?
When I workout on my elliptical for more than 30 minutes, my feet and my hands fall asleep. Anyone else have this happen? Any suggestions for what I can do to keep this from happening? Thanks!

Weight gain…
I’ve started cycling with my daughter alternating between scooting alongside me and sitting in the trailer. We do about 20 miles a day 2-3 times a week usually over flattish terrain but we also go up a mountain and over the hills if the mood strikes. Since I started doing this my weight loss (53lb so far) has stalled and…

Personal trainer advice
I started lifting weights about 3 years ago at age 42. I got hooked. I got a personal trainer to move from machines to free weights and learned a lot, mostly dumbbell stuff though. However, my trainer wouldn’t show me deadlift and squats due to my age. Said that was a “young man’s game and would lead to back problems” I…

30-40 mins of stationary bike every day
I have recently begun adding 30 minutes of exercising on the stationary bike daily. How much can this help me gain weight if I am consuming around 1600 calories a day? Previously all I did was walk about 20 mins a day. I'm still doing this, just have added the 30 min on the stationary bike. Can go to 50 or 60 mins if…

Getting lean vs getting strong?
Hello. If you’re just interested in losing about 10 pounds (calorie deficit) and getting lean - looking more tone - how would the math differ in how many sets/reps for the main lifts I would do - Squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, rows and some core work with biceps and triceps. Not interested - as much - in…

Balancing weight loss and heavy lifting for beginners
Hi, experienced lifters! I'm new to lifting and was hoping you might share some of your hard-earned expertise with me. I have been digging around in old threads and see a lot of "I should have started lifting when I started losing weight" and "You should have started heavy lifting yesterday" posts. My questions all kind of…

It's new Garmin day!! 😁
My Fenix 7 arrived today and I'm in ❤️ all over again. Touch screen is so nice! The maps became so much more useful. They were good to have before, but scrolling went from a royal pita to natural and no drama. Small victories: I can finally do separate profiles for road vs gravel riding and have them tagged appropriately…

Fitness Post-Covid?
Hi All! Unfortunately this past Monday our whole household came down with Covid. We are all fully vaccinated, however, my husband was very fatigued, our son had a 2 day fever, but I've felt it the worst. I had headaches, chills, fatigue and some pretty nasty breathlessness. I have luckily recovered from the headaches,…

Goals Activity Level Setting
I started my journey to lose weight on 8/10/21, starting at 300 lbs and now weigh in at 235 lbs so I have been extremely diligent using MFP. I work in a desk job 5 days/week. Up until recently, I started walking (started in Feb/March timeframe) approx 7,000-12,000 steps per day. Should I change my Activity Level setting?…

Aaargh- knee pain
Not looking for advice really...just wanted to vent! Haven't been able to walk or run this week because my knee has flared up. Tried a bike ride, that was a "no". Tried a swim, that also was a "no". So I've done two upper body workouts and that's all. It's been ages since my knee was this bad and I'd forgotten how irksome…

Alternative to Climbers and Renegade Rows?
Hey all! I'm doing an exercise program on a website called Darebee. Unfortunately, for today's workout, I'm not physically capable of doing the moves they want me to do (I am morbidly obese and not fit.) I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for an alternative workout I can do that'll achieve similar results?…

Yay wheels! ❤️
I redid the sealant and replaced one of my valve cores, and just enjoyed my first ride on my nicer wheels since last fall. Some air was leaking, I wasn't in the mood to deal with it, and have been using some box section alloy wheels with tubes in the meantime. What a profound difference! Great wheels make it feel like an…

On a Weight Loss / Fitness Journey!
Hello from Malaysia! :) Within the 5 years after I graduated from university, my weight jumped all the way from 48kg to my current 62kg weight. It was 65kg about 2 weeks ago, and I've got 3 kg down so far :) A friend of mine recommended me to try using the food diary and logging some of my workouts, since I've never paid…

Odd observation re: restless night after evening workout
Warning: don't try this if you have a high blood pressure. Mentioned a few times over the years that I can't sleep well after working out in the evening, especially running. Just totally restless, wake up constantly, tired in the morning. Well, evening is the only moment I actually am able to run. So that's not good. For…

Calories burned issue
Ok, so i haven't gotten any kind of response in the tech side, maybe one of you could tell me why this happened. So yesterday i went to make dinner, was logging my stuff and saw it says i've burned 597 calories, then later it went to 600. Now i have had that happen where it adjusts up, but what happened after is a big…

Is this enough to start?
I'm at the beginning (again) of a very long journey. I weigh 395 pounds, I'm 5'4". I'm homebound, with no exercise equipment at home. I saw a TikTok video recommending this seated routine for people that have been sedentary for a long time. I set a goal to do this once daily for a week and see where I'm at. I started…

Runner/cyclist debating complete change of fitness goals - help!
Hi all I've been running and cycling fairly consistently 11 years. Never super-fast but pretty consistent. Three marathons, 5k PB 21:23, 10k 44.58, best times were around 7 years ago. More cycling than running in the last few years - last years mileage 3500m. I'm 46, single mum to two teenagers, work full time. Last 6…

Please tell me what your favorite tracker is and why.
Hi, I'm Barb. My trusty Fitbit Alta 101 stopped working after 6 happy years with it. It only stopped tracking because I scratched the connection that syncs it to the app. I would really appreciate your recommendations for replacing it. I'm 64, not so great with new electronics/apps. Looking for easy access to steps,…
