Glute Imbalance and Scapular Winging
Hey guys, Ever since the start of 2015, I've been trying to fix my glute imbalance and scapular winging, but to no avail. Long story short, when I descend during the squat, my body shifts towards the right, and when I ascend, I feel my right glutes and quads doing the brute of the work. Therefore, I have a weakness in the…

TDEE
Hi all I just calculated that at my goal of 140lbs my TDEE will be just over 1500 cals 😔 Which is pretty low for me - I think I'll be hungry! I'm not sedentary- I walk 4/5 days a week around 15,000 steps ( 6 miles) and I use an outdoor bike in warmer weather often 20+ miles. My stats at the moment are - Female 46, 5 foot 7…

Fitbit Steps Not Showing up in MFP
My Fitbit and MFP are connected and my settings are set to track Fitbit Steps but MyFitnessPal keeps showing 0 Fitbit Steps. If I disconnect the two and then reconnect, MFP will show my current steps but it won't sync again and update. I have tried deleting both apps and redownloading them on my phone but nothing seems to…

Swelling after workouts- help to reduce?
Hello I’m wondering if anyone has insight on swelling after workouts and ways to reduce this uncomfortable bloat? I notice it a lot on heavy leg/squat days and days where I do long runs. Is this indicating a nutritional deficiency if my salt intake is not excessive? Or need more rest? Not sure how to take it but very…

No Sweat- great book/audiobook- got me going
This book takes an in depth look into sustainable movement and lifelong fitness. I’ve actually been getting up each morning early and on to my elliptical which is crazy for me. It details the concepts of movement and exercise and opens the mind to all the opportunities for them instead of just high intensity gym workouts…

How many people who have linked fitness watches (or similar) enable "negative calorie adjustments?"
I have my Garmin account linked to MFP and have gone back and forth on enabling negative calorie adjustments. Among people who have FitBit, Apple Watch, Garmin, Samsung, etc. I'm interested to see how many use the feature. (My experience with it has been mixed.

No calories on strength training exercises???
Why are none figured in when I enter strength exercises on this app? I personally burn more do to shortened rest times and higher repetitions than I do with cardio. Do I just need to suck it up and get a HRM and enter them on my own?

High gravity days, pull ups, and progressive overload.
I'm not sure if I'm asking, or just venting, but the varying strength on random days has me frustrated once in a while. Some days you can just push a little more than you could other days. Some days you can just push a little less. But for whatever reason, this seems to be the most pronounced on pull ups for me. I like to…

Push-up Help
I recognize this question has been asked before, but I'm hitting a wall with the advice I've been following so far. So, I'd like to be able to do about 20 push-ups. I can currently do none. I have been weightlifting and using the stairsteps as elevated platforms to gradually make my way closer to on-the-floor push-ups.…

Incorporating cardio into your workout routine
How do you all incorporate cardio into your workout routine? I weight train 5 days a week 1st thing in the morning, for 1 hour. I'm aware that cardio isn't recommended on same days as weight training. Also how long are your cardio sessions?

Triceps exercises and elbow pain
Hello all--I've been doing a weightlifting routine for awhile now and things are going great. However, one of the problems I've had forever and again now, is elbow pain when I'm doing triceps exercises. When I do a cable triceps pushdown with the rope attachment, it's not too bad as long as my form is good. I tried another…

Looking for accountability friends!
I am wanting to start a Beachbody program but I would like some folks to do it with for accountability. I was thinking about doing 21 Day Fix Real Time but I'm open to suggestions! And if you just want an accountability friend and you're not doing a Beachbody workout, I'm down for that too! I have a bad habit of talking…

Wanting to understand different exercises.
I'm in my mid 60s, and I have just started a journey towards health. My goals are to lose about 60 pounds eventually, increase stamina, and maintain balance and mobility as I age. I'm not too bad right now, but not where I'd like to be. And now I'm going to show my absolute ignorance of basic exercise understanding. :8-/…

What do women wear lifting?
Maybe this is a weird question, but what do other women wear lifting? I'm a minimalist, so I don't like having a whole LOT of clothes. However, after having a kid & my body/style changing, I'm looking at getting rid of several leggings & am thinking about what to replace them with. I'd like to be stylish, so I try to be…

Fitnesspal calorie calculation
OK so I set my calorie limit to 1700. It's Friday so I ate over it but i went for a walk and did a 40 minute work out to make up for it today. I normally just leave it and have a cheat day just as long as i don't go way over my maintenance cals. Today though I felt like I wanted to get excercise in twice(I spaced it out)…

Ebike vs road bike
I have a nice cannondale road bike and really enjoy riding it. I can often exceed 25mph on the down hill, but I get nervous about the speed. I’m also in pretty decent shape, so up hills are not horrible but still not “enjoyable”. I’m thinking of buying an ebike. Hopping to get a “motorcycle-like” or “golf cart” enjoyment…

Arm weakness/Injury
Hi, after lockdown I got back in to the gym and think I went a little too heavy too soon on the weights. I feel a weakness in the outside of my upper right arm which is also uncomfortable in some movements. For the past few months I've laid off heavy weights and concentrated on cardio. I have started to introduce light…

AF and chest heart strap
Hi. I suffer from Atrial Fibrillation and take daily meds for it. I’ve recently starting wearing a chest heart monitor and I think my heart is a lot more ‘fluttery’ while I wear it - like the HRM is having a negative effect on my heart rhythm. I don’t even know if that’s possible - so, has anyone else experienced any…

What and how much strength training as obese woman to compliment my exercise routine?
Hey y'all, so, I know strength training is important. Muscles burn calories, they protect bones and joints, etc. I just don't know what exercise would be good for me (e. g. after squating my knee hurts, so I feel I am still too overweight for that (went down from 165kg to around 130kg within the last year). Is it ok to NOT eat back exercise calories at 1200 cals?

Legion’s PULSE preworkout supplement made me sick - anyone else?
My trainer suggested I take a “non stimulant pre workout supplement” so I ordered one recommended on Amazon: Pulse, by Legion. Lost Exercise Calories?
Has this happened to you? I did a 2.5 mile walk this morning and was rewarded with burning 200+ calories on this MFP app. However I just checked, (making sure I will have enough calories saved for leftover Thanksgiving Pie tonight), and poof, MFP changed it to only 50. 😖
