Using iPhone for counting steps
Is it pretty accurate? I just figured out I can do that. :/ Most of the time I use the treadmill so it's all figured out for me. But when I start walking outside, I'll need something reliable. Thanks!

Walking Vs. Cardio at home
Hello fitness family! I am trying my hardest to get back into the swing of things to get this weight off. Not to mention in June I have my best friends wedding to attend and it will also be a little vacation for the husband and I. So it would be nice to have lost a decent amount of weight to not look back at all the…

Hi all, Today I purchased the Freeletics coach and completed my first workout. I've been thinking about this for a while after seeing so many positive reviews about this app and I'm so thrilled to have finally made this step. Now I'm wondering if anybody else is using this and is interested in sharing their opinion, or…

Chlorine Question for Experienced Pool Rats
Have taken up daily aquafit with husband, and shower well afterwards. I do at least one hot mat class a day, and I sweat profusely. My sweat smells like chlorine. It’s absolutely grossing me out, and the odor is very, very distracting, too. Have been breaking out in itchy patches, too, since beginning aquafit, also…

Exercise Calories
Hi, I’m new and didn’t notice that my exercise calories that I have burned was being added to my daily calories. Is there an option to change that? Or do I just not log my exercise so that it doesn’t get added to my daily calories? I’m sure of it sure has been asked million times, but I couldn’t find it. Thanks

Thumb Arthritis And Lifting
I have arthritis in the base of both my thumbs, with the right one being the worst. Does anybody have any suggestions to help alleviate some of the pain when working out? Have thought about trying gloves, but not sure I would feel comfortable wearing them.

Double Partial Knee Replacement (patellafemoral replacement)
Anyone here have a partial knee replacement (patellafemoral replacement)? I'm getting them both done later this year after years of failed treatments. I've been reading up on the recovery, but a lot of the experiences I'm reading are from less-than-active people. I'm very active and curious about time frames in terms of…

Suggest for new bike rack
I’m looking to get a hitch bike rack. Anybody use the Kuat brand racks (Sherpa 2.0 or NV 2.0) I’m familiar with Thule (T2 Pro XT) but Kuat is a bit cheaper and is better reviewed. We have carbon gravel and road bikes, no fat tire bikes. Want a rack we can just set the bikes into. We also have a Yakima roof rack for my…

Looking to start a rowing workout - advice needed
I want to try something new, and once spring hits for real, actually do it in real life. Does anyone currently row? How did…

Realistic calories burned with kettlebells
Can anyone help me figure out how many calories you burn doing a kettlebell workout? Because: more food. But my deficit is small, thus I don't want to overdo things. I do about 40 minutes workouts. Swings, clean and press, squats, etc. When I say 40 minutes then that's the actual workout time without breaks. I'm drenched…

How do I use the past as a road map rather than a road block?
I’m 48 and starting over with my fitness. At 38, I went all in for fitness, starting from weak, slow and heavier than I should be. I joined MFP as NotFortyYet. I shredded it! After I hit 40 I became Rides4sanity and I was very fit. Profile picture is from the old days, a goal shot. I’m small 5’1” and I was 105# and 17% BF.…

Knee pain after bike riding
I am a little out of practice as my bike doesn't really see the light of day over the winter months. But I did a 20 mile bike ride in the sunshine today with a short stop in the middle to go shopping. And found the gradients EXTRA difficult and tough on my knees. The pain isn't excruciating but I feel pretty achey. I turn…

Exercise Cals deduction
So the app tells you what amount of calories you should eat for a certain amount of weight loss. Well then you exercise and you can magically eat more. I guess I’m just a little confused as to why that is, shouldn’t you just stick with the first basic number and anything burned is just extra weight loss added? Maybe I’m…
