Finally hit more than 3 stone lost since June 🎉
To be honest, I’ve been focusing on my mental health — it’s taken a hit with cancer & everything that’s happened, plus the aftermath of surgeries and post-op complications — so this feels huge. Happy to finally see the scales move past 3 stone, but the hard work starts now. Time to knuckle down and keep going — another 6+…

10 pounds
Ugh. 10 pounds. Through problems at work, other issues going on and whatnot, I let it go and gained 10 pounds over 6 months. We all have done it at some point or another. Now it's just facing it down and buckling down again for the next 6 months. 😒 But it'd be nice to just keep ignoring reality🤣

Appetite suppressant medication
My medical wt loss clinic put me on a low (8 mg) dose of Lomaira (phentermine) to jumpstart weight loss and help tame hunger cravings. Internist says ok, but not forever. I’ve cut back coffee to a single cup/day. The biggest impact has been not getting up to eat in the middle of the night — very welcome. During the day I…

Any tips and ideas for breaking into my weight goal zone?
I’m new to MFP and actually using it to track movement and calories. For some background I was weighing nearly 200lbs back in 2021 and have since lost that weight primarily through weight watchers. However, I reached a hard plateau using them and ended up stopping. At the moment I am sitting at 155lbs give or take. The…

What is going on??
hello MFP community! I’ve been working on losing weight for 3 months now (well, for years, but focused last 3), and I’m eating the right number of calories as per MFP, I’m exercising AND I’m doing GLP-1 (Wegovy), which I’ve done before. I haven’t lost a pound, not 1. What’s happening? Has anyone else experienced this?…

How do calorie deficits work?
I've been searching for the answer endlessly. I currently sit at 5'8, 221 pounds. I am obese, but luckily proportional. If I didn't exercise, I would need to eat 1,990 calories a day, because to maintain my weight, I would need 2490. This creates a 500 calorie deficit. Fitbit tracks the calories I burn, I think both…

Winter Months Strategies?
I’ve been doing this for over six months. I’ve made really solid progress. Easy during Spring/Summer when eating light is normal for me. Autumn brings the colder weather and an urge for comfort foods. I’ve been making lighter versions of everything and have weighed weighed portions and log the calories, but honestly, the…

Yield, please explain
I am struggling to understand the yield in recipes. Why does it ask me to cook 5 servings if I'm only meant to eat one? Fair, the meal repeats next day so I could two but why 5? My grocery list does not seem to match the true reflection of ingredients for my portions, please can someone walk me through it?

Gotta get back on target!!!
I'm ready for a major comeback! I used to be a super-fit marathon runner at my target weight, but life—especially becoming a parent 8 years ago—led to a change. I'm currently about 42 lbs (3 stone) overweight and have definitely slowed down (though the 10k distance is still there!). I'm focused on getting back on track and…

Hey everyone! We all know fitness and nutrition can feel overwhelming with so much information out there. But usually, there’s that one small habit that makes the biggest difference in the long run. Weight loss fatigue - thinking of taking a break, but can I?
I've been working on healthy lifestyle and losing weight for a little over 13 months - started August 2024. I'm down 94 lbs, have lost at an average of 1.4 lbs/week in this time period (of course, not linear, thank you body!) I'm almost out of the obese range (started BMI 44, now 30.1) Quite honestly, I'm getting a little…

Water… what counts?
hi all … new to full MFP access. So I really dislike drinking water. I’m 65 and I just didn’t grow up w this as a priority. I do however drink copious amounts of coffee. 😂 I use a small amt of vanilla protein shake as creamer (about 6 oz total daily & count the calories) Can I consider any of this water? Please?

Polyunsaturated and Monounsaturated Fats
Fitness Pal says I should have a goal of 0 polyunsaturated fats and 0 monounsaturated fat, but the internet shows that those type of fats are healthy for us. Can anyone explain why we shouldn't be eating those fats? Thank you!
