When did you stop losing weight after reaching goal?
I reached my goal weight a couple of months ago, but haven't mastered the art of maintaining and I wondered how long it took for everyone to find their weight where everything just stabilised? What changes did you make to your diet? And did you find that your goal weight was the weight you stopped at? Maintenance is…

Injury slowing me down
Several weeks ago I had felt light headed and dizzy like vertigo. I went to the doctor got some meds and the dizziness went away but the spasms in my back stayed and became worse. After going to the doctor and the chiropractor every other day and getting massages I am left with my lumbar now in serious pain. The…

Maintenance break
Hey, So I've been on a 'diet' of net 1400 calories for about 4 months and it's been not too difficult to stick with. However, lately I have been feeling like a bottomless pit and hungry all the time. I only have 10pounds left to loose, but I am wondering if I should take a maintenance break for a few weeks? I mean I'd like…

Help with not counting calories anymore
Hi everyone! I'm getting really close to my goal weight and want to stop logging calories. I'm back at school now, which makes it harder to log, and I feel like I've learned enough that I can make healthy choices for myself. I want to come back in a few weeks or so and see what my progress is, but I'm not sure how long I…

Favorite splurge?
One of the nice things about maintaining after all this time is that always seem to have a bunch of extra calories left at the end of the day. I usually have ice cream around 9PM, but that's only 100 or so calories for 1/4 cup and I don't want more that that. I'm usually looking for 200 or so. Lately I've been going for…

I eat like a sparrow and I still gain weight
I managed to lose 7kg of weight over one year with MFP and exercise. Then when I tried to maintain, I increased my intake from 1200 c to 1400 c and my weight seem to increase 2 kg over 2 weeks. I know it may all be hormonal but I feel really discouraged, and I destined to eat like a sparrow for the rest of my life? My…

Leaving anorexia in the dust
Hello everyone, Really just a quick question but thought I should give some background. So, I'd been struggling with Anorexia for 3-4years when at BMI 15.6 I realized things were not going to end well. It was christmas time last year, I'd been on antibiotics for 6 months to shift tonsillitis that I couldn't get rid of, I…

Maintaining this weight
So the story is, in March is when I was first inspired to start losing weight. I would religiously count calories and I started going to the gym and mostly doing cardio- about 20-25 on the treadmill mostly jogging, and using the elliptical machine for another 20-25 minutes. I ate at most 1,200 calories a day but usually…

Reached my goal & now have gained a little back
I reached my goal weight (lost about 20 lbs) and managed to maintain it for a while - now in the past 2 months or so my body has seemed to change - I typically eat one "cheat meal" per week (I did throughout my entire weight loss journey) - and before I would eat it and maybe gain 2 lbs but then loose it right away plus…

Do I get 500 calories back? 3500 a week to gain a pound?
I'm pretty black and white, detailed, and dedicated and I think that's why MFP is working for me. I am saver not a spender so I don't feel a need to eat all my calories for the day, I usually save a few for a raining day. I started MFP about 6 weeks ago and have lost 18 pounds. I am at 212 and my goal is 200, I am going to…

Keeping my weight, but still getting rid of the fat?
I lost all the weight I wanted to lose without looking weird on the top part of my body. I am now at 52 kgs at height 1.70 m but STILL I have lost of cellulite on my thighs. I have been on a 1630 cal diet until now for the past 4 weeks (before that I was on a 1400 cal for two months and I lost around 5 kgs). I am at minus…

Scale Swings
I sometimes jump on the scale in the evening before bed and then test again in the morning and get swings of 5 lbs sometimes. Its not often, but its often enough to make me question how this can be. Example was yesterday. I had an awesome calorie burn day as I did a P90x DVD for chest shoulders and triceps, after that…

Those last few pounds
Hello, hope it's OK posting in here but guessed that this is where all the people that could answer would hang out. I've got 6 more pounds to lose and I'll reach my goal weight of 140lb and a fairly arbitrary BMI of 20. It's all gone like clockwork until the last couple of weeks, losing on average 1lb a week. Now I'm stuck…

Ok so I started a yr and 9 months ago today to change my lifestyle. I was 278 and I felt horrible. Fresh break up from a 4 yr engagement and super depressed. When did you decide to stop?
I'm struggling with figuring out when to stop losing weight. Everytime I reach my goal I make a new one! At 5'7 I started at 135 and I just passed my most recent goal of 120! I cant figure out when I should stop losing weight or maybe just focus on toning? Have any of you struggled with deciding this? Thanks!

Recovering Anorexic period problems, I need advice/help
This one is for the ladies out there: First, here is a summery of my story. Stayed under 200 for 2 weeks
I hit my goal weight of under 200 pounds a few weeks ago and now I'm working in building more lean muscle. For the past 2 weeks, I have lost 1 pound which is basically no change. I know that maintaining is much harder than loser weight so I feel like this has been a big success. My only problem is that I'm a little…

Maintaining after so long...
I'm not there yet (my goal weight), but I've been thinking ahead... When I make it, how do I maintain it? After eating 1400 calories for so long, how do you up those? That's a big change. That's adding another meal in calories. Any tips?

Logging at Christmas
Okay, so I know there is a long time yet until it's Christmas! But with all the sweets, cakes being shelved in stores at the moment you can't help thinking it's only around the corner! I've never really been on MFP long enough to be logging at Christmas, wanted to know if you log at Christmas or whether you decide to go…

I don't know what to eat
It may sound stupid but i don't know what the best foods are to eat each day. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm nearly at my goal, 7-10lbs to go. I go to the gym 3-5 times a week. I struggle to reach 1,200 calories a day, because I simply do not know what to eat. I started eating a lot of fruit, but this is all very high…

Not sure how to 'maintain'
This is the first time that I've watched what i ate- but, in my case, I'm thinking it's a lifestyle change... I've lost close to 45 lbs and I'm at my goal. I really don't know how to 'maintain' my weight. I put in a new goal on the site, but I don't know how to eat to get my calories up by 600 cal. I don't want to eat junk…
