Birth control and maintenance.
I've been on Depo Provera for the last four years. My last shot was in June, I decided to stop taking it. Does anyone have any experience with coming off of birth control and perhaps having any appetite/energy changes?

Extremely low calorie diet back to normal?
Hello there, I started to religiously use MFP in February, but being dumb starting June and to this day I restrict my calories to about 600-1000 a day. I know this is very unhealthy and stupid for me to do so and I finally got the wake-up call that it’s wrong to do so. I was just wondering what is the best course of action…

Stopped Logging: Looking For General Advice
Hi all-- It has been a LONG time since I posted here! Long story short, I hit my goal weight roughly 2 1/2 years ago. I was religious about my food log during the weight loss process, and have been pretty strict about it since hitting my goal as well, but have recently decided to finally stop logging. Things are working…

Formula to figure maintenance calories
Hi all, I may be getting a little ahead of myself but I'd like to know what is in store for me calorie wise. The last time I lost weight I had 2 back to back pregnancies so I never experienced maintenance and didn't see how many calories worked for me. Is there a certain formula that one can use to determine? Height is…

Maintenance issues.
According to MFP I am ok to eat 1850 calories on maintenance mode. I read in several places that it's ok to eat back calories you burned from exercise. I don't always do that and more times than not end up eating around my regular 1850 maintenance amount. I work out 6 days a week, Insanity Max30 for 5 of those days and one…

Losing when the sums say I shouldn't
OK, so I realise my title might have some people rolling their eyes. I mean "why complain about a good thing?" I started back in April with about 20-25lbs to lose. I also just wanted to get fitter and improve my shape. I joined a gym and have been running, spinning and doing Bodypump (mainly the latter) all pretty…

Weight Maintenance
Male, 32, 145lbs, 5 days lifting on progressive program. I recently hit my target goal of 145 on a 1600 calorie diet. I now want to maintain and by calculating myself (not with MFP) I came out to 2300 calories a day. I manually entered my own calories and macros into MFP. Yesterday I entered all my food into MFP, was only…

Scared to gain weight?
So I've lost 40 pounds total. I'm happy where I'm at, 129 today and I count my calories still and everything. Everyday I have over 500 calories remaining. I'm trying to maintain my weight however everyone around me says I should eat more because I'm not eating enough. I go to the gym 5 days a week. Lift weight and do…

Recomp success
Has anyone here had success with doing a body recomp that would be willing to share their before/after pics. I'm trying to decide if I want to do recomp or a lean bulk. I've been going back and forth with both for the last two months. I'm at my goal weight but bf is around 20 to 22%. I get mixed answers from both sides as…

Question On Maintenance Weights
I am not sure how to word this. But. I am grappling with the issue of what weight to maintain. I have been relatively comfortable at my current weight but three years ago I was 12 Ibs heavier and a great deal stronger and fitter. I got a little caught up and obsessed with the scale number again (happens when I am stressed)…

Eating more but still losing weight.
So I went from 200 pounds to 170 which was my goal weight. Changed that data in the app to maintain that weight and started eating more calories per day. I'm still losing weight and am down to 165. Not saying it's a bad thing but was wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Running=Happy, Fit=Happy

Looking for Calorie Dense Healthy Foods
Gaining weight is easy, grab a pizza 6-pack of beer and sit on the couch. Losing weight is easy when I am active I lose weight while consuming 3,000-4,000 calories a day. However, maintaining my weight while remaining active and eating healthy has always been a problem because then I need to consume near 5,000 calories a…

Glycogen replenishment vs true weight gain?
How long should my trend line keep going up when glycogen is restored? I've been assuming that it happens over a few days, and that an upward moving line 2-3 weeks out from upping cals is true weight gain?

Just ate over 1000 cals of Graham crackers :(
Ugh! My kids don't start school until next week and they are driving me CRAZY!!!! So obviously when I had two seconds alone without them, I ate over 1000 calories of Graham crackers. Not sure where to go from here... I guess low carb the rest of the day? Sigh....

Re-comping but trying to make sense of macros / carb cycling / IF
I'm female, 33 years old, 5'5", 126lbs. I'm eating at maintenance at about 1600 calories. I've been lifting in the evenings 2-3 days a week with the StrongLifts 5x5 program for about 4 months now. I pay attention to calories and eat pretty healthy balanced meals, but haven't really paid attention to macros. My lifts are…

Deciding on a goal weight
How did everyone decide on a goal weight ? I know a lot just go by the BMI charts but wondered the reasons if anyone else chose differently. I already weigh less than I did when I graduated high school and about 17 pounds away from the goal I set for myself. I don't think its too drastic but people that have known me my…

Protein Shakes Newbie
Hi Looking for a bit of guidance as I am a little clueless.. At the point where I want to stop losing weight but become more lean and reduce BF percentage. Diet wise I am pretty good, the occasional chocolate/booze session here and there (we are only human) but overall I am quite good, eat a lot of protein, salads, veggies…

Keto diet?
Anyone else trying this? Any success/horror stories? I just began a few weeks ago after a 5 day water fast. So far so good but I'm wondering is it safe long term for weight maintenance or should just be a short term weight loss diet plan?

Scared to lose progress
I'm happy with my weight of 103.2 at 5ft 3 and definitely don't want to lose any more. I'm afraid if I up my calories from 1200 to what I'll need to maintain, I'll start overeating. It's like I don't trust myself not to overeat if I allow myself more food. Is this a normal fear?

44yr old crossfit
Reading the threads just wondering what sort of age groups you are all at. I'm pretty good at logging and maintaining macros whilst eating mostly clean but gaining muscle is a battle. I'm at 15% bf and 87kg looking to get to around 85kg but not lose any of the lean muscle I have. Macros are set at 40/30/30 C/P/F. I train…

Maintaining & Recomp with Thyroid Issues
I hope this is ok on this board, as its kind of a two part question. I was recently diagnosed with Graves Disease. I'm relatively asymptomatic... some heart palpitations, eye pain, and neck pain, but not really anything else. Not even loosing weight unexpectedly which is a Graves hallmark. Anyway, my white cell count is…

Huge difference between calorie targets
So I was changing my goals on MFP and found that if I changed from a weight loss caloric intake to a maintenance caloric intake there was a huge difference. Like 800 to 900 calories a day. Has anyone else found this when changing goals?

Books/articles on recomping?
I posted a similar thread in gaining weight, but it seems this may be a better place for it. After years of losing weight (meanwhile having and feeding babies), I'm ready to be done with weight loss. Are there any books or other references you would recommend for someone looking to recomp what they have? I'm not in a huge…
