I wasn't going to post in here but I came in to post for someone else and as I read the whole thread I figured I had to throw in my 2 cents. This challenge was only dangerous if you're not used to attempting volume. My workouts include plenty of volume so this wasn't that big of a deal. People forget that "training" means different things to different people. I'm old. I'm out of shape. I'm not a power lifter. I'm not a genetic freak. And I certainly am not geared up. My max dead lift is only 375lbs. But because I train for volume this challenge was hella hard, but really not dangerous.

^^^ Is an actual video. Apparently MFP only plays with YouTube videos and this one is hosted at DailyMotion. Typical

Anyway, the reason I came was to do a proxy post for Iron Miss Canada, who totally crushed the 10 reps...

Still deciding if I want to try this. Had bball yesterday and haven't done squats. So light squats and then do this challenge? You guys use your phone to record or a digital camera? Not sure if I have enough memory to video this on my phone

I'd definitely do light squats, just enough to warm up. Some phones have a "youtube" type setting for the camera that records to a quality for internet streaming. Yours might.

This one is for 23 reps...I redid the challenge and got it at 1:23 minutes but haven't uploaded the video. This will have to do.

I should do more cardio hahaha. Would have actually finished under 2 minutes if I didn't have to catch my breath

I'll probably do this again December 1st and get video from a better angle.

The first time I did it I was no more sore than a typical workout (but I do more high volume stuff typically). We'll see how I feel after today, but I suspect I'll just have regular DOMS.

I was not sore at all. The video posted was actually the third time I did the challenge in the span of three days. I had done it on a Thursday night, after my normal back workout, but didn't like the angle of the video so I waited 5 minutes or so and did it again. The two attempts are pretty much carbon copies of one another and I posted both in my newsfeed even though I was annoyed that I had to set the bar down after 15 or 16 reps on both tries. I was sick ( a cold ) on Friday so didn't lift, but I kept wrestling with the idea that I wanted to do the challenge and get all 25 reps without ever setting down the bar. Saturday I was still sick, did not plan to work out, but found a chance to nip into the gym and do the challenge one more time. That third attempt, where I got them all in one set, is the one I posted here. Unfortunately I can't put the video on youtube so you actually have to click the link. I was no more sore on Friday than I would be after a normal back day.

That's damned impressive. And no wraps this time! It's crazy how much stronger you got in just one year.

Definitely! I was actually shocked that it was about 2 minutes because my original was 6 and I was hoping to get close to 3. It's funny how we can see the minor improvements when we track stats, but things like this show us how much we actually improved. Doing it again in a month after I add some cardio. Want a better angle because I didn't realize it cut the weights out.

lol, that's why I didn't record my aborted attempt. Couldn't get a good angle, AND I was tired.
