Lemon blueberry cream cheese coffee cake
I'm visiting my sister and her family! I leave Thursday night and leave Tuesday afternoon to head back home, all I know is there will be Church and a trip for vegan foods heh.
New nephew!!!
YES! And I get to teach my sister the basics of lifting, I'm quite excited3 -
@Lois_1989 CKD is basically 5 days at sub 50 net and 2 days at higher carb levels. Works well for lifters it seems but as a runner I found it counter productive/doom.
My favorite SIL is coming down for Easter with our niece and her new fiance so I'm making a Gordon Ramsey turkey . Breakfast will likely be a Kirkland protein bar and all my supplements/my meds because that is generally breakfast for me
Confession: In keeping with my carb experiment I had a small serving of a cheese stuffed gnocchi with my kale, kolrabi and butternut squash bowl- can confirm gnocchi is still delicious.

Reese's eggs. Starburst jelly beans. Cadbury mini-eggs. SO. MUCH. YUM.
Better than Christmas. The only Christmas candy I have to have is Candy Cane Hershey kisses.
Christmas is worse for me. That is when all the special cakes come out. Christmas cake, mince pies, Christmas pudding, Pantone. Mmmmmmm. I could leave Easter. I only just bought my first little tube of mini eggs today.
Costco had mini ginger bread muffins this Christmas. They severely diminished my weight loss.
Meanwhile the vegan over here is like... I can do dark chocolate, depending on the brand.
I thought I could do dark chocolate until I bought Lindt's 90% chocolate. Whew, that stuff is dry AF. I only had 2 pieces and I was done!2 -

My colleagues were having mcflurries today. I don't usually partake but a creme egg one was calling my name. A few people remarked I was eating 'normally'. I wonder if anyone has guessed. From how they talk, you'd think I was a fruitarian. Nothing like, just marginally healthier than the standard northern English diet.
Did my best with veggie soup for tea but it was a struggle. Why do pregnant bodies only want ice cream and potatoes?!1 -

Wendy, who is that bungee jumping in your picture?
Our youngest went to Germany this summer with his German language class. After that, he spent a month exploring Norway, Sweden, & Switzerland, and also stopped in London for a night on his way home. He slept right across the street from the British Museum, and got a warm feeling feeling from it even though it was closed. He got on a plane early the next morning, took the underground to Heathrow and flew to Denver.
You may recall my mentioning that we have raised them to be fearless. He had many adventures on his trip. This was bungee jumping out of a perfectly good gondola over a Swiss lake. He also parasailed and canyon surfed in Switzerland. (Raising children to be fearless is not for the faint of heart)
The pictures he brought back were fantastic.
It's time for me to jump back into my weight loss journey.
This is great! I love your new pic!1 -

I feel like being vegan is hard aside from the regular presumptions- the vegan packaged foods I've seen are stupidly high in calories for being entirely plant based. Must make it tough to use convenience foods when life is crazy0 -

Lord, help me to be gracious when people don't understand me.
That would be frustrating. Re-gift?
I was thinking re-gift. Or at least save the bits you can eat until after Lent and re-gift the rest.
It's nice that she gave you something.
This was my thought.
I totally admit to being a jerk for not appreciating the gift. And I also admit that it's not rational to expect her to consider my religious sensibilities when they are not hers.
I am not a manager here because I don't want to buy something like this for 20 people for every single holiday. If I were, however, I would like to believe that I would never give one of those 20 people a gift that they can't have.
If she were thoughtful of me, she would have not put gluten in it and she would have said, "I have one for you, but I will keep it until Lent is over." I would have appreciated that much more than I appreciate being treated like a 5 year old who needs to be bribed with candy periodically.
Oh no I didn't think you were a jerk. We don't get Easter gifts at work (I didn't know if it was an American thing or just an over-generous boss) so I just thought it was nice of her to buy you something. By you saying you are irrationally offended I gathered you knew you shouldn't be.
However, if I knew I had to buy for 20 people, I admit I would bulk buy like your boss. Tailoring for 20 people must be hard. But then I would have to accept that some people would probably trade or give it away.
Easter work gifts aren't common. Even buying for 20 people is not common. It is nice, but she could have been a bit more thoughtful. That would like buying me a slab of meat. Yeah. Thanks (turns to person next to me and hands gift away).0 -

Jelly beans are my nemesis. I would have blown it today if there were jelly beans in that glass.

I guess it depends on how many of those bites happen in one day.
I've been known to fit a whole doughnut in one bite as well. Pretty sure that should be logged.

I stay away from packaged food for the most part. Last time I went vegan I gained 20 lbs doing that. My problem is I gain weight like crazy if I am not moving and I haven't been very good about running/walking/exercising/riding. And I know the raw nuts I eat in the afternoon and the grains I am adding to my lunch salad aren't helping. I am really working on fixing some of these issues... Hopefully I will start to see some progress!1 -
I went Sunday to VA to look at a new horse. A 16h 2" Chestnut TB. 7 years old. Very handsome. He was green but fun to ride. I had decided a few weeks ago to sell Jaques as it hasn't been going so well. The problem is I don't give things up very easily... Even though he reared and dumped me, kicks at me and tries to bite me when I groom him, and stops dead and refuses to move when I ride him... He is MINE! But I can't afford 3 long term. We'll find out Thursday if they are going to let me take the new guy on trial and I can probably last a few months with the 3 to see how the new one works out and the progress Jaques makes. Then make a decision. I have been trying a whole new approach with riding him, and it seems to be working. He is stopping less and going forward more and being more willing. So I see a bit of progress which puts me in a conundrum.
I do think I will send Jaques to VA for a bit of a vacation and see what the folks who own the farm where the new guy is coming from (if he comes) as they deal with 'problem' thoroughbreds and it is an amazing farm, total gorgeous, and he can get out of the ring and go cross country and get a new change of scenery. It may make him a happier boy. We'll have to see....4
