No idea, never been pregnant, but I never heard of a crème egg mcflurry.

I am irrationally offended by this gift from my manager. Not only is it the thing I gave up for Lent, and she knew that, but also half of this candy has gluten in it.

    That would be frustrating. Re-gift?

I was thinking re-gift. Or at least save the bits you can eat until after Lent and re-gift the rest.
It's nice that she gave you something
    .

    This was my thought.

I totally admit to being a jerk for not appreciating the gift. And I also admit that it's not rational to expect her to consider my religious sensibilities when they are not hers.

I am not a manager here because I don't want to buy something like this for 20 people for every single holiday. If I were, however, I would like to believe that I would never give one of those 20 people a gift that they can't have.

If she were thoughtful of me, she would have not put gluten in it and she would have said, "I have one for you, but I will keep it until Lent is over." I would have appreciated that much more than I appreciate being treated like a 5 year old who needs to be bribed with candy periodically.

Oh no I didn't think you were a jerk. We don't get Easter gifts at work (I didn't know if it was an American thing or just an over-generous boss) so I just thought it was nice of her to buy you something. By you saying you are irrationally offended I gathered you knew you shouldn't be. :)

However, if I knew I had to buy for 20 people, I admit I would bulk buy like your boss. Tailoring for 20 people must be hard. But then I would have to accept that some people would probably trade or give it away.

Easter work gifts aren't common. Even buying for 20 people is not common. It is nice, but she could have been a bit more thoughtful. That would like buying me a slab of meat. Yeah. Thanks (turns to person next to me and hands gift away).

Oh, every manager who works for my executive director buys every employee a gift for Valentine's, Easter, Christmas and our birthdays. They buy snacks for New Year's, St. Patrick's, Cinco de Mayo, etc. It's ridiculously expensive.
Today they hid eggs with candy in each person's cubicle and more with gift cards in various spots around the department.
ETA: I am sure that my manager bought a huge bag of candy and didn't consider that some chocolate isn't GF. I told you it was irrational offense. She did apologize today for giving it to me before Monday. :)

You would have to meet my executive director. She is interesting. And if you aren't willing to play the game her way, she won't promote you to manager. I don't want to give every person the same gift or go broke buying them so I haven't applied for a manager job. We have 75 or 76 people in her department. No lie, there only 3 men and 1 of them worked there before she came. The other two are "affirmative action hires." I really think HR told her she had to hire in more more men because she has a rep for running a Girls Club. The gifts may or may not have started out as compensation for the mean things she does on not holidays.

Why is Easter candy so hard for me to resist? I mean there are holiday-centric candies all year, but Easter kills me. Mini eggs, Peeps, jelly beans, the Reeses Pieces in the bags that look like carrots! ARrrghhh!

Reese's eggs. Starburst jelly beans. Cadbury mini-eggs. SO. MUCH. YUM.

Better than Christmas. The only Christmas candy I have to have is Candy Cane Hershey kisses.

I always love the Cadbury Mini Eggs, the Cadbury Cream filled Eggs, & the Peeps with the fudge on the bottom.

The Coldstone Cremeary eggs now the Birthday Cake flavor was amazing, but I haven't found them the past few years.

I think the hardest for me is Christmas since there's White Fudge Oreos, the Angie's Drizzled popcorn, Gingerbread flavored things, & Peppermint.

It is when they are liberal with the sauce. Sometimes you get one with barely anything because they have run out. Then you wonder if you can take calories away from the total because you've been done over :unamused:

I read every label, every time and not just on candy. (Well, not on KitKats or Twix, those are definitely gluten containing thanks to the cookies.)

Can you send it to me @MissKalhan? Emergency Mental health hasn't been returning my calls for a week because "busy" (the irony of an emergency system being too busy for its intended purpose is not lost on me), my husband's work program said it will be several days before someone can even call me back. I have a lot of mental health feels today...would love to read yours

Bummer on not guilty. All that time you spent on it too. :( This must be a frustrating job sometimes.
