So it's only in the last few months that I really started working on my deadlift form, and go figure, I'd find myself in a gym with hex plates only :/ Today I made my way to another gym where I found circular plates, so I got in my first smooth sets of five since I've been getting the form down! I was feeling so good that I decided to try to max out.. I know it's not much for some, but I pulled three singles at 195#, 205#, and 215#. I think I coulda gotten 225#, but I called it a day. My previous max was 185#. (I'll take any advice y'all have on my form too!)

I have no critique for your form, it looks great. Nice pulls, and I agree... you had more!

So a couple of my clients visited for a few days to compete in a PL meet and then participate in an AMRAP challenge for a fundraiser for HopeKids as a part of Relentless (PL charity organization that does AMAZING things).

Susan competed in the USAPL Twin Ports open on Saturday.
    9/9
    Squat 308 PR
    Bench 148
    Deads 363 PR

She also weighed in at 176 which is 5lbs down from her competition low at 181.
Added 16lbs to her total as well.

She can fight her *kitten* off on the squat and deads. Bench we had a rough start as the opener went a bit slow but she was able to correct it (technical issue) and the last two attempts looked much better.

Plenty of room in the tank on deads too. I see a 400lb pull happening either late this year or early next year for her.

I have massive gains envy. I love that you shared this. Thank you. Tell her congrats and good luck on the 400- she's got it in her for sure!

    That was great!! Very smooth!
Thank you- I'm happy to be going back up- would really like to see 325-350 this year.

    pulled 275 for 3 x 2- I are pleased.

Feel a bit ashamed posting my videos next to yours! Here it is anyway...

meh- never be ashamed of hard work. It is YOUR hard work- and you should be proud of it. It has nothing to do with me- or anyone else here and at NO POINT should you need to "qualify it" be proud. You're working hard and look good. Keep up the good work :)
    And beltless. You're awesome!!

Thanks- I'm not a huge fan of belted deadlifts- I pulled my first 315 w/o it- I really lean heavily on it for squats- but its' a meh for DL. But we'll see this year- I'm feeling pretty crunch these days and any extra stability I can get some days I'll take. But thank you love!!!

Just checking in. I had a pretty good session today working singles on my squat.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OVqQ--Mvlo

Failed the 425 lbs, but that's life.

    Six weeks out.

@nakedraygun That's awesome! Way to fight for that 420. I'm hoping to try for 1RM (hopefully PR) in a few weeks. I need to transition back to lower rep/higher weight after doing the 20 reps. I'm actually hoping for around 420 myself...estimator says 458x1, but there is no f!@#ing way LOL

That's just amazing @Hornsby Wish I liked dips more LOL.

Not sure how you feel about unsolicited feedback but:

Squat looks great, might want to address the walkout after this meet.

You'll likely be better off taking one step with one foot, then the other, then final adjustment laterally.

    really good squat tho

Thank you! And congrats on the rep goal of 275x20!

I hope you nail the 485! Big *kitten* number at your BW!

Thank you @SideSteel! Yeah I hear you. I usually squat with one of those Magnum or Rogue squat stands and take a two-step back (screw heels in the ground, inhale), but these racks I feel I need a little extra space - even if I really don't.

I did have a little trouble keeping my chest up today and that affected, I feel, my " bounce" out of the hole.

Tomorrow I have paused squats and overload walkouts.

Conventional stance pr! I quit pulling conventional ages ago but my coach handed it to me this training cycle. I'm dying laughing over the fact that my conventional looks more sumo than my sumo, and my sumo looks more conventional. The good news is that 70% is feeling like a feather in my hands.

Crazy! Congrats! That's serious + weight for dip.....
Wish my elbows would let me do them anymore. Worked up to BW+45 early last year then the tendons started squawking something fierce.

I went and saw a specialist and that was easily one of the best adjustments/tips he gave me. Get under the bar- keep feet in close- step back- step back- and THEN adjust.
It's made a huge difference- and I'm significantly more consistent with my lifts and significantly more consistent with my set up.
