Morning ladies~
well last night was not great, I came home from work... the credit card that Tom took was out on the counter with cash for the trip..now because I am taking friday off I will not get paid for monday the holiday, I told Tom that earlier in the month and he forgot..
SOOOO now he is not speaking to me.. it all comes down to money.. well I took that credit card, and put it back in his office..and wrote a note saying... use this for my unpaid day off or Homer's surgery,, which Tom is taking 2 precious hours off of work to come pick him up and take him to the vet tomorrow morning.. I will be leaving in the a.m. so he is making me feel guilty about that too
and tomorrow is my birthday.. so I will just enjoy that with my dad spending the morning flying and hanging in airports..1 -
Vicki - I'm so glad your health issues seem to be making progress. Hope that arm heals super quick. :flowerforyou:
Today was the first for a while that I've been able to do my normal weights routine. My back has been so annoying that I've been using teeny ones. It is a lot better today. Because I am happier, I guess. I also have been trying self hypnosis, with lots of visualisation. When I was in Mexico a "white witch" (male) cured my bad ankle for several weeks with his hypnosis technique, despite my scepticism. I have been trying to repeat the trick on myself, using his techniques. But I suspect that it's more to do with feeling calmer and things go look forward to.
One thing to look forward to is our trip to see the grandkids tomorrow. Then our friends who live in Colombia got in touch through Facebook and said they would be in London on Friday and we could meet up with them and their kids at the Natural History Museum. (They are a lot younger than us - old work colleagues of DH) So I emailed DDIL and we can stay with them over Thursday night. That way we can also have a meal with my son in the evening. So it's looking good.
Becca - I am thinking about you and this latest botheration. At least it might get the hospital to sort out a permanent solution. HUGS
The painter came and did a tiny bit of sanding this morning, but heavy rain is forecast for later, so they have gone. I have given him the key for Thurs and Fri. He is a trusted friend.
A happy photo of my three darlings, enjoying their North London life, but not for much longer - they'll soon be moving.
Much love, Heather in the disunited kingdom1 -
Quick good morning ladies.
Was able to get an elliptical session in this morning, having some coffee and catching up with you before I hit the shower.
Wanted to share something that happened at work yesterday. Coworkers and I were talking about food and someone said, "that's what all you skinny people eat" It took a minute for me to realize that she was referring to me. These are people that never knew that I was 45 pounds heavier just a short time ago. It was worth it to go to work yesterday just to hear myself being referred to as skinny.
Becca, prayers and good thoughts for you and your husband.
Time to hit the shower.

Barbie thinking of you and Jake.
Mary glad DD surgery went well.
Becca prayers.
Alison Happy Birthday! :flowerforyou:
Margaret1 -
Joyce: Be kind to yourself.. you deserve it!
Becca: Hang in there let's hope this time will solve the issue
Barbie: Hope all is going well
Mary: Sorry to hear about your DD's surgery - so happy that she's on the mend
DJ: What about a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) similar to what is used for servers that allow them to shut down properly when power goes out unexpectedly. This may give people time to open the gate before power is entirely out
Allie: I hate guilt trips! Someone very wise told me once that guilt is a very powerful tool in the hands of a master manipulator. The only time you should feel guilt is when you have deliberately set out to harm someone. Given your generous nature I can not in my wildest imagination think of you deliberately harming anyone...so throw away that guilt complex! And Happy Birthday... I so hope you enjoy your day.
Oops time is slipping away gotta run and get to work!!

I did the math, I'm going to reach 700 by tomorrow. right now I've got 672, counted my place nationally, so far I'm 219th (as far as miles ridden) overall3
-
Allie: Happy birthday! We are celebrating with you in spirit. Hope your travels go well.
Heather: I'm not a 'white witch' but will begin to send Reiki to help lift your back pain. Hope you are better soon.
I had a fabulous 50 minute walk around Seattle's coast yesterday in comfortable 70-degree weather. Had to stop for some raw oysters...a rare treat. This morning is foggy, but supposed to clear up. I've got to get myself to the hotel gym, then off to business meetings for most of the day.
Take care, friends. We can do this.

Another beautiful day here. Taking time to recover from yesterday's travels. M&Ms are gone and fridge is cleaned out. Spending the morning on little tasks before I head off to help OS with bathroom remodel. Lots of back and forth in the next 2 weeks but hopefully it will all be worth it.
DH didn't like the salary negotiations so will most likely walk away from the job he was offered. My shoulders are getting weary of the financial burden but I am fortunate to have a good job and value what that means I can give to DD and our future as a family.
Strength and support to all you strong women facing health and family struggles. Deep breath, shoulders down, head tall and keep moving. NYKAREN0 -
Pip: You are amazing and a star. I am honored to know you. I hope you're able to keep things in balance so that you don't exhaust yourself. (((HUGS)))
sfstegall: Welcome to a great group. Exhaustion is not a good training or weight loss strategy. I hope you are able to keep your heavy work and family load within your ability to cope. You have quite a challenge right now. You'll find lots of encouragement and support in this group. :flowerforyou:
Cheri: Thanks for the explanation of "gig'em.." I have heard of gigging frogs.
DJ: Thanks for you good wishes for the boat trip. I hope we can all enjoy ourselves enough that DH wants to do it again and again.
Joyce: The information you are sharing about Charlie's medical care is not offensive. Share away. We're here to help one another thorough ups and downs. (((HUGS)))
Becca: I'm sorry that your sister is letting you down. I hope this surgery fixes the problem and your DH can get on with feeling good and being happy.
Kim: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. :flowerforyou:
Alison: Happy birthday! Enjoy it to the fullest. Pay attention to Carey from N Alberta. She's right.
I woke up with a really sore neck today and asked DH for a Gua Sha treatment. I feel better! If you're interested in Gua Sha, you can look it up on the internet. It is an ancient Chinese treatment for muscle pain. I can attest that it works very well for me.

katla - i am honored to know all of you - right now, just riding on auto pilot. i've added my calories and i've burned over 1k a day for more than 1/2 the month each day. next month i will take "a break" from riding as many miles. still riding to the gym and to the train station and not spinning every day will be nice. but then i gotta start running again but after that i got the MS ride in september, but no training for that, i'm just gonna ride. that one is where i have to raise $$.3 -
Re in TX - Thanks. looking forward to receiving recipes.
I went to shave my legs and under my arms this morning. All razors in shower were dull, dull, dull. I could not find any of mine; so I had a problem opening up the ones my DH had bought. WHY do they make 'everything' so difficult to get into (childproof is actually old(er)proof). You can give a childproof item to a child; and, they will open it with ease. I can open medicine that has the tap you push down (from K-Mart); but if you have to hold the top and turn it ... can't do it! Vet put Cracker's medicine in childproof bottles. You have to hold them down and turn without holding sides. GGRRrrrrr!!!! Got one leg shaved, put it on the shelf to lather up my other leg, went to reach for it, fell and the head came off. Double GGRRrrrrr!!!!! Cut my finger trying to see 'if' it was possible to 'fix' it. NAHDA! That is why they are 'throw away' razors.
I 'think' Cracker is 'milking' her left leg for all it's worth and favoring it. Since last Fall, shortly after we 'adopted' her from the Animal Shelter; she has injured her left pad (middle ones - which are the ones they put their weight on) 4x's First, she apparently, ran into the wheel/tire of son's truck. He thought he had run over her. DH came in carrying a 'limp' puppy. I just about started crying and she lifted her head. IF he had run over her, he would have killed her. To vet; x-rays and medicine (antibiotic and pain). Then, she was getting over that; when she stepped on a big thorn; really started limping; back to vet; and they had to 'dig' the rest of it out. PetSmart had first noticed it when I had taken her in for a 'bath' (so they would not do it). More medicine (larger dosage). Plus, liquid to keep it clean. Then, she 'stubbed' her pad (much like 'stubbing your toe' as a child). They had to cut the flap off. More medicine. THEN, she had split one of her middle toenails all the way to the quick; more medicine and back a couple of times because she really started limping. They had to remove the nail; since it was split. DH talked to one of the vets (he is painting his house) and he told him that she would probably 'limp' for a while as the toenail would start coming in; but, grows back slowly. DH is going to check it to make sure it isn't swelling. She'll run like the wind (on all 4's - most of the time) ... until you look at her, ... and she 'sees' you looking (or if you say something to her). She's a 'smart one' ... 'if' she could 'talk' she'd do it. Sometimes we just let her out because she slowly eats her food over the period of a day; so that is the only thing that seems to make her 'happy'. Especially is DOS's 'dawgs' are down here. She hears Luna jumping up to get Tux's food. We've started feeding Tux a small amount any time we go outside. He continues to 'bring' us 'presents'. Last week, I don't know how he did it; but, he laid a large mouse/rat on a handful of grass. Like he was thinking that he needed to 'improve' the presentation so we'd 'like' it better. Threw it out into the woods; now, he is back to leaving only 'parts'. UGH! Right on the welcome mat.
My fur baby is so 'bad'!!!! Spoiled, rotten, stinky ... and, I'm not the only one who does it either. She follows us around all day and night ... she will lay in front of the bathroom door whenever either of us are in there like she is guarding us.

Took three of my granddaughters ( the 8 yr olds) to a painting class yesterday. Sand castles were the intended result. It was harder than it looked and the teacher was not good with kids even though it was promoted as a kids class. We all had fun though.
Marcelyn in Houston7 -
Marcelyn - What a beautiful family. And you are all sooooooo skinny! :flowerforyou:
Heather1 -
Marcelyn love the sandcastles. I have done this type of class too. I think they are fun too. Hopefully you get a better instructor next time.0

Hi Gals,
Re – When I got laid off I was so angry I went to my advisor and said how do I pull it out and away from those *ss wholes? Well in the 8 years not only did I pull everything out of all my 401k’s and dump it into a self directed IRA but this guy has just under doubled my money. He’s not free, but an annual charge based on how much my account increases so it is in his best interest to make me money and he does! And I hate to gloat but about 2 ½ - 3 weeks ago he said we have to get out of UK and Europe NOW, I said do it… and did not fully understand why, now I do.
Lisa - so glad the two of you planned ahead with the warehouse, and the editor job, he has the freedom to do what is best for him… including playing really loud (but of course not saying it) “Take this job and shove it”
Allie – Have a great birthday, enjoy your time with your dad, and grrrrr all over Tom the bully.
Chris – great NSV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marcelyn – beautiful picture!

Hi to all. had a pretty good trip. DH's cousin is better than I thought he would be. My sinuses are almost better, but this morning Benny wouldn't eat which means the only way to give him his 14 pills was to shove them down his throat. After an hour of fighting him of course he vomited them all back up. So he is spending the day at the vet;'s; I didn't want to leave him home alone without any seizure meds on board. So I am nearly sick from the stress of this. Waiting to hear from the vet. More later. Meg1

Hi ladies! Just a quick call for help! I could use some prayers, good thoughts, vibes etc. just sent in my direction. It has been eight months since my younger sister's brain tumor diagnosis. She has made it eight months which is a wonderful thing, but it looks like we are starting down the other side of the mountain, so to speak. She has been in the hospital for the past week with confusion, delusions, hallucinations, vomiting. They found that the tumor had formed a new mass in a different area of her brain. Kind of at a loss because, well, I am here at this place where I just don't want to be. Watching her go. Being with her and she most likely isn't even aware of where she is or who she is with. I need a good cry and maybe some wine or beer. House full of little ones, so it will have to wait.0

Barbie: I'm glad to know Jake is out of surgery. I hope it was completely successful. I'm guessing it will be a bit of time before you know how well it turned out. Meanwhile, Congratulations!0

I got back late this morning from my DD's house. Of course she went to work! She didn't take any pain pills since early last evening so I felt that she should be fine. She wouldn't have listened to me anyhow. It is much harder to do my work out later in the day when I am so used to doing it first thing in the morning. But I got it done!
Have a great day everyone!
