okay not too bright ate more chocolate than usual and then fell asleep - drinking herb tea as too much chocolate made tummy "bleh". Over on calories and upset stomach - not a nice combination.

Will put more hot water in hot water bottle and see if that helps.

    WEDNESDAY

Good Morning! Day off for hair coloring and pedicure. Both will be appreciated.

Will work on one of the 3 items to get done by New Years - I bought a table on wheels (actually it is for food/drinks) to put my knitting on so I could move it from place to place - but all my projects landed somewhere else :s . Other 2 items involve cleaning and throwing out, so it depends on what I feel like doing.

Back to sleep with dog. Wave to all who follow.

Windchill of -24 this morning. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I have always wanted to learn to knit or crochet. However, when someone starts teaching me, I realize I do not have the patience to sit still and do it. Nor the foresight to really envision the project completed. My complete admiration to those of you who not only knit but knit well and profusely, giving to those who need!

Sara - enjoy your "you" time. I am going to get about 6 inches of hair cut off and have it colored...maybe. Am still iffy on the coloring part.

Kristina - how is the recovery going? i had to chuckle at your doctor description. i recall one of the doctors who treated my son when he broke his back was such delicious eye candy :D his clothes were so well fitted that you couldn't help but sit there and drool! hahahaha

Annie - is it moving time yet? i cant recall how long you had until you got possession of new house.

Lana - we are trying to reach out regarding something from my aunt but i am not holding my breath.

Kathryn, seeing safe just fine - what is the plan? To make it work as a safe or make it into another type of storage unit (wine etc - I am thinking yarn myself.....).

Got on phone to Insurance company and was able to get the dr I had originally asked for over the phone- so that is at least taken care of and I got off the phone and went "??????" like why couldnt they do that the first time? I could have fixed it online, but I am not trusting the process at the moment.

Took dog bedding in kennel she came with to dumpster - asking those I know if anyone needs a kennel. Stuff in her kennel had almost 10 years of dust in it :s which is why I wanted it done. Other to do's are organizing dejunking and cleaning. Things that I can do this weekend.

Hair apt in half hour, will sew together some knitted squares I found - dusty too - this batch of scarves will get washed before sent.

Sara - no yarn! haha it is a working safe. will most likely end up use it as a table/end-table kind thing in addition to locking up a few valuables. of course all that depends on if we can get it into the house.

Kathryn, that safe is beautiful! Your DH did an amazing job.

Sara, you pack a lot in a day off! Hope your hair and pedicure turned out the way you wanted them to.

Lana, hope your various appointments went well.

Hanging out in a coffee shop, indulging in a chai latte and (half) a sugar cookie. Will get back on schedule next week. (Sara, I joined you last night in chocolate indulgence. Ah well, ‘tis the holidays and MFP is for life.)

Hello Tess - bless your soul: you can eat half of a cookie? I envy whatever brain chemical you have that allows you the control to do that--you are almost like a civilian!

Kathryn - Your safe is absolutely beautiful. What a nice job DH did restoring it. I'm sure you are very proud of him. Some men are amazing!

    Waving to Dawn....

Hey where the *kitten* is Annie and Saltine and Samuels and Kristina and Annmarie? And Missy and Liz?

Something tells me that Liz has her hands full with a couple of new babies, but that is only a guess on my part from scraps of pages I put together on the internet. Nothing for sure. Liz started this group originally. The man who I think is her husband has a photo of two tiny babies on his FaceBook page with no explanation of who they are, so I am making assumptions...

    Stay warm and snuggy everybody.

Lana, wishing fur coats were not tabu.....

Lana - was thinking of Miss Liz not too long ago and babies makes sense, especially two.

New neighbor upstairs is a young ish man - so we shall see how he walks on floors.

Making ham fried rice for dinner and will freeze the rest. Pedicure shop usually sells Christmas ornaments someone they know makes on a machine (looks like lace) and did not sell as many this year - so I picked up 2 stars and 1 heart shaped - who knows they might be nice add ons to presents throughout the year - they were a little more than the price of a Frappichino at Starbucks so I did good.

    Wishing all a good night.

Read the directions on the white rice package (for a change) and it made more rice than usual so I now have 4 dinners to freeze instead of 3!! Yes that is worth noting as it means I have one less meal to worry about in the future.........

    THURSDAY

    Good morning,

Up with dog and paper. Since when did they have to deliver before 5am?

Back to work. Toes and hair are ready to go!! Got dog bedding to garbage without a cloud of dust which was appreciated.

QOTD: what are you focusing on today?

AOTD: Walking more so that when I eat that extra piece of chocolate it wont be "as bad".

Wishing all a great day - will lurk from work.

    Good morning Sara~~

Waves to all who stop by later.

Fighting to stay upbeat today. Lots of problems cropping up, which will likely trash my planned trip down to NC, where there's light and windows and slightly warmer weather.
NYC is very hard on me with these stupid-cold temps. It's virtually solitary confinement in a basement.

oh my goodness 25 notifications!! you would think I would keep up seeing as I am home all day until Wednesday.

im seriously slacking off ladies, like im struggling. I was doing so good for 17 days then surgery then BOOM, slacker mentality. I think I need someone to message my phone and ask if I got off my butt. I haven't taken apart in good food these few days. I feel so guilty!

in that time though, I reread a book from a trilogy called temptation, (SO got a free kindle fire from part time work at amazon and I love it!) I then read the second Confession and the third Grace in 5 hours. I love reading but it needs to be something that catches my attention. and of course raunchy.....christian grey..... good grief!! what do all of you read around here??

my hand is getting better, still having big trouble gripping. stitches come out on Tuesday.

I don't know if I have asked already but does anyone here have an Apple Watch? would love to add anyone!!

I am jumping off to enjoy some snuggle time with one of the three. have a great day and I will BBL!!

look at this face! just look at it!!!!!

Kristina, Maize is adorable! We’re a split family - several family members are Spartans but nephew broke with the family and is a Wolverine. We love him anyway...LOL! I didn’t go to a Division 1 school so I live vicariously through others. Glad to hear your hand is healing. Totally hear you about food - will be getting back on the wagon on January 2nd. In the meantime, trying not to do too damage!

Lana, glad today is a bit better for you. Sorry to hear your trek South is delayed. If there is anything we can do to help - like listen - we are here for you.

Happy New Year, Dawn! Thanks for checking in.

Sara, AOTD - trying to make today not as badly red as yesterday.....

    Waves to all. BBL

    Good evening,

Kristina - just want to hug Maize!! Aww.

At work I spent 2 hours fixing 2 claims that totaled over $48K because ultimately while we probably wont get paid, but we have to try. I took a break waiting for help and said to someone " I am too old for this". My greatest achievement today was that I did not run to the chocolate until later in the day.

Frozen lasagna for me, will try and sew up another scarf.

Tess you posted while I am writing...... Peanut Brittle for New Years will make my ## s very red.

Lana - anything you can do in NYC to help? Go to the gym? Meditation class?

    Wishing all a good night.

    FRIDAY

    Good morning,

Got call last night from lady who used to come and take dog out mid-day until she got a job doing special education. It has been a long time since we spoke. Nice to hear from her. She has an infinity scarf (brown/pink) I made for her years ago - she uses when camping because she says she hates being cold and the scarf works perfectly. Another satisfied customer.

6 scarves to work today - 2017 total # is drum roll please........113.

Have a pink scarf that is nearly done and I will work on it this weekend to gift to coworker - her son was murdered this year and most of the company heard her reaction to finding out as she was in the main hallway. I told her recently about state funding for counseling she and her family may be eligible for.

After Holiday blues but we still have New Years - still have decorations up in kitchen window.

QOTD: How do you celebrate New Years? Lana I know is held hostage in her living quarters.......

AOTD; As a child my mother made fudge, since Dick Clark no longer does the New Years countdown - does Ryan Seacrest still do it? - I just go to sleep after eating sugar laden food - peanut brittle and caramel corn on hand ready to go.

Oatmeal is ready. Wishing all a great Friday - TGIF!!

    Good morning All~~

Sara - 113 knitted items is an amazing amount of stuff, not to mention all that yarn to do it with. May the goodness come back to you~~

That is terrible about the woman who lost her son! Yikes.

I cannot yet see the additional photos of Maize. It seems the past few weeks it is more difficult to see photos. All that shows up is that little blue box with a question mark. I will look again later.

I'd better make a grocery list and get that all done today or tomorrow. NOT on Sunday.
All the barricades will be going up along Eighth Avenue in prep for New Year's Eve. Makes it hard to get around.

The scale has had some ugly numbers lately. Curses.

Sara, WOW!!! That’s an incredible tally of scarves in one year! You are a very generous soul to give of your time and talent in such a way. And how wonderful of you to provide comfort to a co-worker who is going through an unimaginable hell.

Lana, good luck with battling all of the NYE prep madness. Hunker down, and stay safe & warm.

The WI on Sunday will coincide with my 1-year anniversary on MFP. It’s been quite a year. I promised myself I would reset my goals on Jan. 1 for 2018, but am not quite sure whether to reset or just keep going. I did hit my interim goal (hopefully haven’t gained too much back) but still have a ways to go to final goal weight.

BBL. Waves to Kristina, Dawn, Annmarie and anyone else running by.

    Good evening,

Dinner done, will start knitting on scarf.

Looking for crockpot recipes and I either have the wrong piece of chicken boned/not boned etc and I just closed the books. I have boneless thighs and sliced breasts in freezer, I should be able to put into chicken stock with carrots and potatoes and onions and do something with it. Recipes got too complicated.

    Wishing all a good night.

    SATURDAY

    Good morning,

Dog up and fed - will take dog to Vet tomorrow - need 2 of her meds and a bag of food. $$$ time, but must be done.

Lady I know posted on FB her dog died and I was thinking the dog wasnt that old, but then some breeds live longer than others. Mine got extra hugs last night. She just looks at me like "are you through yet".

Back under the covers for me. BBL.

Missy - your recipe is close to what I was thinking about doing but chose carrots/potatoes so I could have 2 "chicken stew" dinners and use the shredded chicken for other things (freeze the rest of the chicken).

    Hi Ladies

Dashing through, using my phone instead of laptop.

It's snowing out, so the city looks pretty.
I got all my errands done, so I am home for the day!

Some of the big breeds of dogs live only seven years! So sad. That seems too short a time to me.

I will be back later when I can use my laptop.

im watching a mix of Rosanne reruns and The 90's, the last great decade on NatGeo who is also speaking about Rosanne lol my mother hated Rosanne but I loved it. it showed the true American family grit and grime.

I am also watching my 16 yr old sleep with what I believe is the flu. Theraflu is on the way, thankfully she cleans after getting sick. my poor little one.

im having some struggles at home. not looking for a pity party or sympathy. I think I just need to vent.

my SO works a second job because I took a large pay cut when I went to the school district. my previous job was closing our location (thank you again Transamerica)

Wednesday night was our only night alone together. I asked him to watch a movie with me, something other than all the war movies he has me watch with him. he sat down stairs in his man cave playing playstation and then watching a game on tv. I went to him and said hey that movie was great. I watched it by myself. he said he forgot and he was sorry. I said it was fine, the fact that another Christmas present was delivered that day should make up for it right? he didn't like me saying that. this isn't the first time, has been going on for 7 years. I feel more alone in this relationship than I did when I was single. he is a good guy because he works hard and is basically a step parents to my kids when he has never had any. im not an easy person to live with either and the baby daddy drama really sucks but he sticks around. he never involves himself in the drama because he says it is none of his business. whatever. I couldn't even tell you the last time we were intimate.

    uuuuugggggghhhhhh so aggravating

sorry ladies, just had to get it out.

Price of progress, people behind you in line are in such a hurry that you dont realize you have been overcharged until you get home. Can do anything about it as I left the store and I did not buy 2 bags of dog food. Just dont like being pushed through a check out line.

Maybe that money can go to buy a bag of dog food for the shelter? I can only hope.

Dog is done, tomorrow grocery shopping is all I have to do tomorrow - my to do list is still looming.

Kristina - holiday stress doesnt help either and your surgery - much of your paragraph explains why you found a "keeper". See if you can reschedule a movie night soon.

    Lunch looming.
