Good morning All~~
Sara - I just read your post about making the oatmeal and the milk. Some days are just like that. I hope that things have been better since and that you have a good Sunday prepping your food, getting in some walking with Miss Tillie, and then have some relaxing for yourself.
Dawn - Sara is right! Focus on other healthy factors while you are in this food/home situation. Who knows, maybe you will stumble upon a fruit or vegetable that only you like, and it won't get eaten! LOL. As for the exercise and the weather, maybe you could get in some floor exercises--abdominals, etc. (Talking to myself here, big time.) Hope the work-staff thing gets sorted out eventually. Keep us posted.
Tess - big applause for you--getting to the gym! Atta girl. Glad you are feeling better.
Waves to Kathryn and Annie and Missy and Saltine and anyone else who stops by to say Hi!

Good evening,
Phew - got the fried rice made and will wait until it cools down to put into freezer.
Got nice nap in with dog - will go back to dvd and knit with dog.
Took down one of my junk "monsters". I have another one to do tomorrow.
oops editing time - Lana - great weigh in !! Keep up the good work

Good morning - dog up and fed. Tempted to sleep in but knew I would be chasing my tail.
Groceries and cooking main items on list - did get a nap yesterday and hoping for one today. Dejunking/cleaning on list as well.
Dawn - when things are out of your hands, focus on other aspects of being healthier - walking breaks/ drinking water/ handling stress without eating if possible. Coworkers - well you said it yourself the Dr's are watching and the Dr's bottom line $$ could be the determination - stay under the radar as much as possible.
Weather had made allergies come early for me as well - got car washed when my oil was changed and all the yellow/green pollen I couldnt see was off my car. Yuck.

Thanks Sara...I have been drinking water at work... stress eating is somewhat at a minimum... walking, I'm hoping to do more of, once weather decides what it's going to do...I have definitely been trying my best to stay under radar at work... I've gotten good at walking away and finding something to do...I still am so much happier at this job, than I have been in a very long time...1 -

I keep seeing fun, yummy things on TV, as far as snacks and such...Avocado Toast, cottage cheese with fruit...I think I will grab a little on lunch and keep at work... at least I can have a fairly good lunch... need to work on breakfast and snacks...I was going to start the 7 workout App, I already gave up...I'm so insecure, I can't complete a workout, if anyone is awake... it's past doing it to me and, I can't get past it...I'm planning (hoping) to start walking in the park, once weather clears...

MONDAY
Good morning, typed Sunday - had to stop and weigh in - up 1.2 stink but just is. Playing in same 3-5 pounds. It could be worse, it could just go up.....
Lady at work went on a cleansing diet and lost a lot of weight very quickly and coworker tells me she is not well. Slow and steady wins the race. Will focus on getting up and walking more.
ZZZ time with any luck. BBL.1 -
Sara - Boy, do I understand the "playing with the same 3-5 pounds" thing.
Drat! What can we do to get ourselves down a step lower on this Weight-Tree? I'd like to play around with a lower/different "3 to 5 pounds" for a while! LOL!

Woke 2am this morning, as my DB used to say, to a "complete system flush." I hope that this time it is just something I ate. I do NOT want another go-round with the flu.
I did come into work, albeit late. We have much to do and have to travel tomorrow. (am so NOT looking forward to that.)
Wearing old glasses today. The new ones are giving me headaches and making me queasy. (that is the last thing I need today since i already feel like crap) Never had glasses do that before. I have a call into my doctor to see about any adjustments that might be done. Will also ask about computer glasses thanks to Lana!
Dawn - any way to prep meals and mark containers so that they wont be eaten at home? Maybe be tricky in labeling like mark it "dog food" or something silly that no one would touch! LOL Otherwise, looks like getting stuff to keep in work fridge is your best bet. Good luck on coping with co-workers.

Hope you are feeling better.. one bout of flu is enough...
I wish I had the mindset for meal prep.... and, cottage cheese is not an option at home... cousin eats it almost every day...I just have to decide on something and just do it... hopefully, sooner rather than later...0 -
Dawn does your workplace have a fridge?? You might be able to store some things there.
Took walk and then took dog on walk. Last thing on "to do list" is make quiche.
Kathryn - wow - sorry to hear you are having an unwanted "cleanse" - herb tea - your new glasses are not your friend - when you are able contact your eye dr and see what they recommend. Wishing you comfort.
Nap may be on the horizon as I have to ration my knitting.0 -
Oh Kathryn - so sorry to hear of digestive tract distress!! Where do you have to travel?
Dawn - just some humor.....label some containers "Live culture"? "Sea Urchin" and other gross things?
Sara - You did well getting the walking in!
See you all tomorrow. Please send me some sunshine! And tell my leg to stop hurting! (It's from the meds, so I'm hoping it's just a thing for a few days and it will move to another body part.)
Lana1 -
Good evening,
To do list is as done as I could get it..... dog is having her after dinner snack - shower and cuddle with dog.
Chinese Chicken Salad made for lunch tomorrow and quiche /fried rice is available for dinners.
Bought a "nourish bowl" made by Mann (produce department) has brown rice, kale, butternut squash and a garlic sauce is microwaved. Will have to take to work as I have no microwave.....
Lana - Our sunshine is heading east and we have a good chance of rain Thursday - below freezing temps today and tomorrow morning red sweater for dog and long john pants for me.....hope you re feeling better - what meds causes this?
Dawn - I know people who have marked their items in fridge at work "class science project" to keep people from handling it.... not sure if it worked, but you never know - you could also use "animal specimen" .....
Wishing all a good night.2 -

Sara - yes, but it is a very small fridge... mini I think it's called... so, ugh... limited on space0 -

TUESDAY
Good morning,
It is my Monday. Smile and do "the pretty" at work (be politically correct).
Dawn thank you for the heads up. I will take a look.
Lana - take a look at your habits and if necessary make a list of what has worked or not worked. Take those meal days you have made and while you dont have to do it every day - a couple days a week is a good start.
QOTD= what are you working on to keep on a healthy track?
AOTD- walking / eating less cookies after dinner (hoping to not buy any this next week)
Wave to all who follow. Make it your best Tuesday.1 -
Kathryn, one thing I should have mentioned about the progressive lenses - sometimes you need to ease into them. When I got my new glasses, I found I could only wear them 1-2 hours on the first day, then had to switch back to old glasses (same as you - nausea, headaches). Each day, I increased it by an hour or so. It took about 5-6 days to be able to wear them comfortably full time.
Dawn, complain away about the weather! We’ve gone from 40s yesterday to 70s today. But it’s the grayness that is wearing on me.
Lana, hope your leg is feeling better!
Sara, your menus always give me inspiration on meal planning!
Waves to all who are lurking or running by. Happy Tuesday.
Cheers,
Tess1 -
Just something to pass along - Kathryn - image has monkey with wacked out hair wearing lipstick and the quote is "on a bad hair day there is always lipstick".1 -
Good evening,
Saw neighbor - she is moving next month as her rent was too high and she can live in someone's house for half the rent. Oh to be young again. Puts that question of how long I will be here to the front again - have lived here 18 years much longer than I planned but the next step will be?? Senior housing is either new and very expensive or far away. Mantra - things will work out.
Quiche and too many ginger cookies for dinner.
Have Thursday off (hair/nails) so week is weird. Already Wednesday tomorrow. Will try and keep what constant things I can constant.
Wishing all a good night.1 -
We really need a Laugh icon....
Sara - thanks for looking... wishing I had money to stock up...
Tess - last 2 days were 60- 70... this morn, woke up to 65, down to 40 by 11:00am... raining all day... supposed to have ice tonight and tomorrow... then, almost 60 this weekend... just crazy...
Had to take pup to Dr, today... well, bring her to work... she never, ever makes a sound... doesn't even bark... about 3:00am she woke us up with a scream... not quite sure what happened, think she got caught up in sheets and twisted leg... didn't seem to be getting better, so got her in... thankfully, I learned, the down side of working at a vets office is always assuming the worst.. her leg was fine, hips are bad (we already knew) thought would have to have eye removed (thought painful with glaucoma) Doc said, not so bad... risks outweigh benefit...belly seems distended, says she's gassy (boy is she) so, all in all, she's not as bad as I had really believed... so glad, I finally got her in... sorry it was cuz she hurt herself... but, at least she is ok... he put her on pain meds for hips, will recheck in couple weeks... seems to be feeling a bit better already...0 -
Sara- if I never had to move again, I'd be happy... on the plus side, living with cousin, pretty much everything is staying packed... so, easy moving...0
-
Dawn, glad your dog is doing better and the exam was not earth shattering. Got call it is time for dog's biannual, so will see if I can add it to a day I have scheduled off already (other apts)
Things that are blooming just got hit by 2 days of frost. Long johns this morning- they have seen better days, but nobody saw them but me (and dog). Hope our agriculture isnt too effected - chance of rain on Thursday is still possible.
Lights out.1 -
WEDNESDAY
Good morning,
Frost warning over but still a bit chilly this morning. Our weird temperatures have to remind me it is still winter.
Food choices have been okay - except for cookies.
Dog is my best alarm clock. Bless her.

Yesterday 75 - and mosquitoes! Today 44 and windchill in upper 30s! Mother Nature please pick a season and stick with it!!!
Survived yesterday at other venue. Was a long day (and no lunch) but was busy the entire time so the day went rather quickly. Got a huge amount of new responsibilities added to my job, but hopefully will be able to make it work. I think immediate supervisor went to some sort of "leaders workshop" or Carnegie training - was way too chipper and giving everyone several compliments on their work - a bit out of the norm but I'll take it!
Dawn - glad everything ok for the most part with your pup. that would have been so scary to wake up to her scream. I have a long list of things I wanted to get from scentcy but then got medical bills from my bout with flu. pretty much killed my scentsy wish list....
Tess - will ask my eye doctor about easing into the new glasses. I am going to try to swing by her office on way to another appt today, if possible.
Sara - thanks for the pic description! its so annoying not to be able to see them!
Lana - you had me literally LOL at your food container label ideas!

THURSDAY
Good morning, dog up and feeding.
Hair/nails today, so day off. Bought a "nourish bowl" and will try it today - produce and brown rice with garlic sauce - need microwave - will use someone's as I dont have one (stops me from buying "easy/fast" food which has little nutrition).
Back for more sleep. BBL.2 -
Thursday already?
I'm looking back.......how is it possible that I have not posted here since Monday? I must have written something on Tuesday then failed to click the post reply button. Argh.
Must go back and read all posts....

OK. I went back and read everything, but now it's hard to remember what's what.
Dawn - glad your pup is generally OK and now has some pain relief.
Kathryn - Mosquitoes!? Ack! Hopefully they all died with that temperature reversal.
Sara - First of all --thank you for sending card. My neighbor is taking in my NYC mail, so I will see it in a week or two when I head north.
Glad you have an odd day off--enjoy it!
Tess, I think some more funky weather is coming our way. Green blobs on the radar map.
I weigh every day, and boy did the scale reflect the modest but super-salty mexican food from dinner out last night. I drank only water and skipped dessert, but yikes!
Leg(s) are still hurting. I think it is a muscle and tendon in back of knee/back of lower part of upper leg.
I think its the meds because I have this in my hands too. The pain seems similar.
I will be taking this aromatase inhibitor (letrozole) for ten years, from having estrogen-positive breast cancer, so that greatly reduces estrogen in my body, which makes the body generally fall apart faster (LOL!). MSK docs did tell me of all of the common effects of this dealio. Yeehah.
Hot showers and Advil do help. Low pressure weather systems, which we've had a lot of, make it feel worse.
Hoping to get some weeding/gardening in today. Small bits.
Lastly, Sara thank you for the poke to get back to my MFP pages of successful past days. Will do!

Sara - let us know how that Nourish bowl turns out. i have seen those in store but wasn't sure if i would actually like it.
My spring bulbs have all started poking their heads out - some as much as 4 inches. Hoping weather doesn't bring another hard freeze and kill them all. Have been trying to cover with leaves/mulch just in case but I know I cant cover all of them as they are all over the acreage here.
Couldn't believe there were mosquitoes out Tuesday. Hope it doesn't mean they will be super bad this summer!
