@hickchic67 Aw I send good warm beverage thoughts you way. Do you bring a thermos? I've been debating just bringing my own coffee.

@Tilliesmommy1 all our hot chocolate got recalled by the vendor and I've heard some very disturbing rumors as to why. Cold days make me want hot coco more than coffee for some reason.

@Twiley510 :astonished: Yo what! The coffee drinking crew are probably living it up.

DH took me out to lunch today. Fast food, ugh, but it was nice to get out of the office for a few. The only water they had available was bottled and overpriced, so I got a diet coke. Its been so long since I have had a soda that it tastes weird and I feel kinda jittery from the caffeine, I guess.

Meghan - I have a mini fridge I keep cashew milk and Tazo skinny chai latte concentrate in. I can mix it and microwave it. So I am not completely without something warm. Just that my employer doesn't provide/offer anything. I don't drink coffee anyway so I am in the minority.

At my previous job, during the winter we would do "Crockpot Fridays." Everyone would sign up for a Friday and bring in something for the office to eat. (it amazing how people from other offices just started showing up in our office on Fridays too!). Got to try a lot of different things that way and collected some good recipes that way! Wish we could do something like that here but no one wants to do it.

Kathy- i'm right there with you with cold.. we're not supposed to get that cold... but, negative temps with windchill... ugh... lots and lots of layers!

Went to mom's this weekend. Never eat well when there. Always get in quite a bit of walking, tho. Had to go for follow up eye exam. Going to try a different brand. Struggling with dry eyes. So, waiting on more trials and will go from there. Of course, the better ones are more expensive...we shall see how they are when I get them. Doing ok with contacts... except for dry eyes.... think it's just me and my job..too much hair and dander...

Temps dropping like crazy, today. Possible flurries this afternoon. Really ready to go home and snuggle under blanket in front of fire..

I wonder if Tennessee Tracy works in a small place- hence the better hot drinks?

Meghan dont quite understand why anyone would call coffee death wish - but okay...... have you tried it?

@hickchic67 Oooh that sounds lovely though! I love the Tazo chai lattes.

@Tilliesmommy1 I buy it for a friend every year who is a coffee fiend and I've tried it, it's actually very good coffee. They are very rock and roll with their merchandise and branding ahahah. She has said that is does have one heck of a caffeine kick so death wish is probably a warranted name if you drink more than a small cup

It's a manufacturing plant, but yes, very small. Production and office combined is 85 people. To be perfectly clear, these are not provided for free, but items we can purchase in our Bistro market. At least the selection is good.

However, our company gives us $5 per week toward any drink or food purchase made in the market. We have a card that is automatically loaded on Monday.

Coffee in the vending machine is $0.05. The hot chocolate in the vending machine and the Keurig pods are $0.75. Still a better deal than you would get anywhere else.

Kathryn I just went "???????" when I saw your forecast. Cocked my head like my dog does. Live in layers and keep warm.

Tracy/Tennesse - good deal your work has going with their drinks. At least you wont go broke. In order for us to get decent coffee it cuts way too much into our budget and time (go offsite to get). Luckily I drink more tea than coffee.

Who talked about Tao Chai? I have been buying powdered ginger chai tea at the International Store I go to. Not quite the same but not a bad option.

almost done with one scarf (lighter colors for winter/spring transition) and know what the next one will be....

Seems I owe the dentist money - I gave my credit card to the lady when I was there, I knew the routine, so now I get to send a check :s:p:#

Stay warm out there especially those in the way of that nasty looking arctic visit. Lynn - check in when you can I know you are up in that area.

    Wishing all a good night.

    Hi all 👋

Cancelled procedure last week and had a nuclear nervous meltdown. The hospital won’t accept a confirmed driver after procedure who will definitely get me home safe. The person has to arrive with me, stay all through hour-long check in process, and leave for only quick errands, and make sure they have returned prior to discharge. I don’t have that. No one I knows can take a few hours out of their day. I am taking an antacid once or twice a day AND eating tums at night. My esophagus has burned so bad the past few days that sleep has been elusive. Really bummed. Docs need that procedure done to know what’s going on and how to proceed.

A young man who was a veteran died here in Tulsa last week with the cold snap. Police went around to homeless camps this weekend to warn everyone that another one is coming through and to try and urge them to seek shelter. Poor young man was homeless. It’s just so sad.

I was down to 318.2 lbs Saturday morning. Spine specialist dismissed me in late August when I weighed 345 lbs and told me to deal with the pain and figure it out. He wasn’t doing anything. Only been to 5 pain clinics over a decade back home. All records from the last one had been sent.

Life seems upside down and inside out. Just tired. Mario the cabana boy looks like the guy from my hot yoga classes in Minneapolis... wore a gold speedo and left a literal sweat pool on the floor each time... 🥴

Cheers and welcome to the newer folks!! Glad to have you here!!

Runa, that Mario may have a twin running around is disgusting - bet you are glad he stayed in Minnesota.....

What can you do today to make your day/self/mind better?

    TUESDAY

    Good morning,

Fog this morning, we have not had fog in years and people are in such a hurry will watch the cars carefully going to work.

Applesauce and pb2 is a hit - will continue at least for this week.

I sit near the pharmacy/medical phone section and guy keep telling people we have dry air - since I bought the new humidifier with larger water tank, I have put it on higher and slept a lot better.....Guy on phone is working with people on a particular medicine and skin issues is a side effect - he may be telling them to use more lotion???

Time to get breakfast and snuggle up with Miss T for another patch of sleep. Lurking from work.

    Wave to all who follow.

Morning! Cold!! (for Memphis) - I will not whine when my northern neighbors have (-) signs before their temps! Last night I was cleaning up after dinner and i had a little tiny bit of a red wine and veal demi glaze left in the bottom of the pan... hmmm. Chopped onions, cooked them in the remains - was just enough to give them flavor. Took 40 calorie whole wheat bread, a slice of (diced) ham, left over baked acorn squash, egg beaters and 2% milk. Skinny breakfast casserole!! Had a 1/4 this morning and it was really good. Beats the heck out of my normal pre-work meal.
    Have a great day folks!!

@Tilliesmommy1 Yeah... real glad Mario Jr stayed up North!! 🤪 Do not miss seeing that sight at all! I’ve been trying to get distracted and keep busy when I can’t sleep... and get it in when I can. Been doing some breathing and keeping myself to my word to get out of the apartment as much as I can.

@Twiley510 I must have missed the exact program you are doing... but CONGRATS 🎉 on your amazing progress!! That is an awesome accomplishment and a wonderful feeling!!

Today is supposed to have a high of 47. Currently it is 27. So I am good with my capris, t-shirt, flip flops, and light sweater as planned. 😎 Very excited I don’t have to budge up!! @brennerjlb I don’t miss those dumps of snow at all!! Still remember the Halloween storm of the north umpteen million years ago!

Heading out! Have a great day all!!

Sara - I am the one with the Tazo Chai concentrate in my work fridge (and home fridge!) The skinny latte is pretty good mixed with cashew milk. Oregon Chai has a sugar free concentrate that is ok. I like the Tazo better though.
Am kinda used to Indiana weather being a bit of a rollercoaster but this week is ridiculous!! Tomorrow has windchills of -45 and then Sunday its 50! <severe eyeroll>

Brenner - keep the snow in Wisconsin please!!

Runa - ewww! Mario in a gold speedo is bad enough but leaving sweat pool! Yuck!

    Twiley - how awesome!!!

    Hi All~~

I think that we should all get in the Cabana Boys private jet and fly down to Florida to visit Meghan!!!

It's still only January. There's all of Feb and March to go yet.

I'm going to NC for 7 days or so, then up to Quincy, Illinois, where is has been very cold--somewhat near Dawn in Missouri. Brrrrrr.

So true! I always say, "Gotta love Misery" don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. We literally had a 30° drop in 2 hrs, once...left in short sleeves, came home in a jacket...

    WEDNESDAY

    Good morning,

Scarf I am knitting almost done - will work after the serious cold temps leave and I need a 'light' scarf - lighter weight yarn.

I see a QOTD starting in my head........

QOTD: How is your week going on what you planned to do health wise?

AOTD: New oatmeal flavor is great, makes me less "munchy" crazy, but 2pm hits and its either caffeine or chocolate. Sleep patterns are getting better. Meals are staying on plan so I dont take a sharp right turn and buy meal I hadnt planned.

Such an exciting day on tap at work, blah blah blah blah blah. Spent yesterday telling neighbor over wall to "shut up" do you think she heard me? Forgot I had "mute" spray leftover from last supervisor - one of those cboy care packages....hmmm day may get brighter!

    Wave to all who follow.

@Tilliesmommy1 I’m so curious about this “mute” spray 🤔

I’m up for a bit, but hope to get more sleep later this morning. Acid reflux is just awful still 😩 I have to figure a way to get this procedure done. I’m absolutely miserable - above and beyond the usual.

AOTD: week not going so hot... too many deep gut punches being thrown at me by life... been off track this month more than ever since late summer. I’d like to get back out in walks. Have one virtual race paused and another just idling basically. It’d be good to get moving again 🚶🏽‍♀️

Runa - I had a supervisor who just talked crap all day long and Lana sent me a cboy "care package" with a spray that muted the person spray is aimed at. Sadly it isnt real, but it is nice to make the "spray" motion and imagine you cant hear them.

suzu- http://www.lionbrand.com/mandala-sparkle-yarn.html it is the purple/pink/blue and light green
