Good morning. Sunny and 40, high of 59 later. Finally.

Sara, I love the idea of sending cards. I *never* do, and yet I buy them all the time. I will order stamps and get started.

If anyone wants one (or more) from me, just send me your mailing info in a private message.

How's everyone doing? I'm going out in about 20 minutes for a long walk. Hoping to miss crowds. My older dog is stiff and sore, so he needs some rest and I have to back off on throwing that ball. So Skye will go with me. On leash for practice. I'm thinking of the place I went last weekend that put me over the proverbial edge--but I'm pacing myself during the week and a weekend push is just good training practice. On the other hand, I would like to try some *very* light jogging--it's been a month. IDK yet what I will decide. I could choose both b/c the trail at the end of my hike is good for jogging.

I'm going to have to shop today--once my daughter is up and moving, hours from now. She and my son are going to bed when I'm getting up :) Hoping to clean the garage today so I can put my car back in. I stored all the ridiculous stuff I bought (non-food) too much of, even though I only bought 2 of each thing, for self-quarantining. I literally have enough toothpaste to last about 5 years. I bought two boxes of HUGE tubes, 3 tubes to a box, It's not even toothpaste I use. I was just in the mode of "don't hoard; just 2 of each," and those boxes were the only toothpaste left that day. SMH. Well, if the apocalypse follows on the heels of social distancing, I'm ready.

    Have a lovely day.

Well, seems like not good news is my new thing...my male dog is peeing blood...he started needing to go out frequently on Thursday. But, he poo’d every time...so, thought it was tummy issue...then, he had a few accidents in house, which he had never done...DH noticed the blood. I took a fresh sample to clinic, for Doc to look at...he said, it could be really bad infection, but doesn’t think so.. he is afraid it’s his liver... he gave me 10 days of antibiotics, in case of infection...but, pup seems to be straining more and, I think DH is about to freak out if I don’t take for tests...so, will take Max with me Monday...ugh...and, this is the 1 year anniversary of losing our girl, Domino....well...think good thoughts...all I can do...

    SUNDAY

    Good morning,

Up with dog. Hope to get her in today for her monthly necessity, Sundays at Vet is usually quieter.

Cooking to prep meals this week is on to do list.

Napping and knitting with any luck. Group of neighbors comes out to chat at late afternoon - we dont get too close and it is nice to have conversation.

    Wave to all who follow.

Wow, Sara - you are SO fortunate to have that group of neighbors who come out to chat.
I wonder if I could get that going where I am?

Dawn - it is good that you work where you work and can take Max in with you. Let us know.....

*tossing stuff onto favorite lounge chair for later*

    Waving to all who follow~~

Thanks to all of you for your condolences. My dad died in November, and his sister's passing has been a vivid reminder, so the past couple of days have been up and down.

Dawn, I'm so sorry about your dear dog. So stressful to have our pets in distress. I hope it's something than responds to the antibiotics.

Sara, how nice to have some social life with social distancing, and outside. My mom--90--had been taking a chair out under a tree to be out for a bit with her dog (in Florida). Soon, neighbors started coming with their chairs, and now there is a small group meeting daily, distancing about 10' each, in a nice circle. I'm sure they cannot hear half of what is said at that distance, some of them, but of course that's not the point at all. Quietly sitting at a distance, no one coughing or breathing hard, no one touching anything shared--I'm ok with this. My mom has always been so social. She is more likely to get Covid from an item brought into the house, although my sister who lives with her is a nurse who sanitizes everything and does not let mom handle much anyway, just in case.

I'm not showing consistent weight loss now. Had changed my settings to cope with hunger and went from losing about 1.5-2 lbs a week to losing nothing, or so it seems (weeks 4-6 for me). Some of it may have been overeating but it's hard to believe that my deficit was wiped out entirely by the occasional rough day.

Should I give it another week or 2? I'm frustrated by willing to think it may be the result of a lot of muscle change (swelling from too much vigorous exercise, building a bit of lean muscle be/c I finally started getting enough protein). Or am I just kidding myself?

Hoping you enjoy a lovely spring day as we seem likely to have here in South Central WI.

    MONDAY

    Good morning,

Weight up again - if you saw what I eat, you would not be surprised. Luckily I keep my walking up otherwise the # would be worse. Pendulum is swinging in healthier direction with salads I will be making.

Seems our Director is having a little "chat" with us today - my computer is at work coworker contacted me and asked if I knew anything....... People are afraid of coming back to work as many people are not acting "safely". As I dont know we shall see - but I will update you.

Dog to Vet today - no more walk ins. She will be so happy again.

Hang in there, get your water and steps in. Stay safe out there.

    Hi All~~

Today is car day. My new little car (my first car ever!) is off being inspected and then cleaned; she is one year old. I am definitely the classic Little Old Lady: the odometer reads 2885. LOL.

I am in one lazy mood today. I have got to take better care of myself.

My pup is ok. Turns out, he does have a stone. He just can't pass it and, it's in a spot that Doc doesn't want to do surgery... he would have to cut open his little pee pee... he sedated him and tried to flush it... didn't work... so, going to see if a special food will help dissolve it... hopefully it will work... unfortunately, the food he will be getting, he will need for the rest of his life and its very expensive... ugh... oh well... gotta make sure he's ok.... will check back in, later...

Sara, that's a good point. My weight has been swinging by 3 lbs lately--definitely not really normal for me. I'll just stay the course for now and practice good habits. Easy walking has been fun and pleasant and I don't need to eat back those calories--it doesn't make me hungry if I'm doing 1-1.5 miles 2 times a day. Hope the job situation is ok?

Enjoying warmer weather again today, but cool and rainy tomorrow. My WFH routine seems pretty stable and the weather isn't having much of an impact.

My son just ate about 2/3rds of a pack of Keebler Double-Stuffed cookies. I could do that--if I ran 8-18 miles/day, like he does :) That would BE my whole day, leaving no time to eat.

    Hope all are doing well.

    TUESDAY

    Good morning,

Tomorrow is my day off for this week, then I will get Mondays off until end of June. I was told I couldnt take Tuesday or Thursday because of meetings - Fridays the gardeners are here all day blowing all kinds of allergens into the air. I took Monday and irritated boss - really didnt know what to tell her but I had dr apts scheduled in March on Mondays. :p She keeps saying I can work from home - will let you know when that happens. At least we are still benefited- some people are saying layoffs - until I see it I am not going there.

My 2 eye candies this week - distract myself- yummy.

Cooked sweet potatoes, so I have enough to start my salads, maybe dinner with grilled cheese???

Make sure to do something to stay on track - walk/drink water/ give yourself credit / put more healthy food in you weekly plan/ meditate.

Lurking from work is possible. Make it your best day.

Gosh I hope you are sitting down, my boss paid me a compliment saying that I was doing a good job. Glad I was sitting down as well. Good reason for chocolate. I have 5k steps may get more.

What little thing can you do to make your day feel better? Go to bed early? Watch a favorite movie? Listen to some music loud. Recently I am imagining my boss in the skilled nursing facility not getting her way as she does now. Okay that's a little sick - but funny.....

Peep works on this board - We need to send the cboys out with care packages - so if you see any serious eye candy he may be your "whohoo" for the day.

Hey, all. Good to see folks stopping by even when feeling down or struggling--I am hoping it means you are reaching out and see this as a good place to do so.

My attitude has generally been good although I had a rough night last night--saw something so stupid on line and really had to struggle not to point out the sheer stupidity of it. I would have hurt people and burned bridges. I'm not worried so much that I need those bridges; I just don't like giving in to my impulses in that way. It took me hours to stop thinking angry, hateful thoughts. But I did, and today I'm calm and relatively happy again.

Holly, I'd love to send you a note. Just pm your address if you would like one. Same for you, Tracey, and anyone. I can understand the hesitancy around sharing that info with a virtual stranger and won't take it personally if you decide not to.

Today was colder again, with a "feels like" of 24 F when I got up. By the time I was out for our first long walk (11:30; they get a quick one in the morning), it was better--not warm, but better. And this evening was nearly warm if you got out of the wind and stayed in the sun. I'm enjoying the walks now that I'm not pushing so hard. I have some PT exercises to do for my knee and hope I can get back to jogging. I like walking 3-4 miles and would love to add jogging 4 miles every other day to the easy walking I'm currently doing. It will take me awhile to build back up to that though. But I plan to continue with the dogs 2x/day for those walks. Let's see what happens to that plan next December through March, haha.

Hugs to all who need one, and waving to everyone else.

Just found out, my Dad’s Dad passed away last night. I feel like a bad person, as I haven’t shed a tear. I hadn’t seen him in probably 25 years. He had dimentia. So, I am thankful he is no longer suffering. Having watched my Mom’s Dad suffer with this, I know he is at peace. I’m sad for the family. Only 10 people allowed at funeral. Not everyone will be able to say their goodbyes. But, they have to stay safe. There’s always the cemetery.

    WEDNESDAY

    Good morning,

First of 8 furlough days - until end of June. Might have a walking date with neighbor and her grandchild.

Food choices are improving, but boring. Need to work on that.

Will get more sleep this morning with any luck. Dog sometimes is the alarm clock.

    Good morning!
Sarah - you made me laugh out loud twice - first one was your comment about the compliment and then the nursing home. thanks for the laugh. Enjoy your day!!!!!
    Lana - waves to you!
Dawn - I had a Grandma and a Grandma in law, both with dementia in a NH. It seems one grieves early with Dementia. You lose them way before death unfortunately. I do feel bad for people and funerals now, but to be honest I do not feel for funeral homes. I think the price has gone way overboard. You and I could throw a great party to celebrate a life for way less than 25,000.00. Just my opinion. I know for some it is very important. I say celebrate life and put the money to a better use :) Sorry for your family.
Maureen - also laughed at your sons cookie story.
Holly and Tracey and all others. We have to keep taking one step forward. Don't forget to be thankful for the little things in life - sunshine, green grass, pretty flowers, whatever makes you happy. So often we let our jobs, other people, a virus, etc get us down. NONE of those things are worth our unhappiness! I know...it is easy to write this.
Not so easy to practice. I do understand and am sending sunshiny thoughts your way.
    Waves to all

Went to buy some dental masks at Asian store, with all the precautions it took me an hour - mainly waiting in line. So glad my bathroom business didnt kick in - as I was leaving the process to get in - must sanitize hands and have gloves and face mask on or you dont get in. I like that across the board. I bought Kohlrabi, Broccoli, pickled red cabbage, lemon juice, Italian plums, tapioca pudding (NO CAKE), cereal to munch on, rolled oats, dental masks.

So now I have a decent salad to make today.

Lana are you still in NYC if I sent a card?

I need a good "up yours" song - please suggest as neighbors are just too rude for their own good.

Cboy care packages are on their way. Let us know when you meet the cboys.

Lunch?? Hmmm all the culinary creativity of a slug = GRILLED CHEESE it is.

Dawn, I am so sorry your family has suffered a loss at such a time. There are no good times to lose someone, but there are some really bad times. This is one of those.

We had a minimal service for my dad in November, mostly so his Catholic family far away could participate. The meaningful one for us will be his military interment, which was scheduled for 4/03 and had to be canceled for COVID. Still looking forward to that gathering. A lot of friends were coming and some extended family. Missing Dad every day and wish I could see mom, too.

Feeling antsy and tired at the same time. I think I'll take a very short nap and go for a long walk. No matter what, that walk should improve my mood.

    Take care, all.
