Missed you @Saragirl and @slittlemeister!
@OConnell5483 - the job sounds great! It was all meant to be!
I like the idea of the gallon jug. I have the hardest time getting my water in also - might have to do this myself!
Good luck on the cookies swap - this time of year is when I get in the most trouble also! Going to babysit my grandsons from saturday-thursday. Since they will be in school, I am going to do my xmas baking there --- that way the boys can decorate the xmas cookies, and I can leave the cookies there!
As for low fat evening snacks, I am going to keep sugar-free jello here at home. But I would love to hear of ideas you have. Evenings are my worse time for snacks - and I always seem to want cold stuff (like ice cream!).

But I'm going to do it. This is me, committing to do it. You can all shame me if I don't. (Genuinely - I need some tough love sometimes).
I hope everyone else is doing well! Catch up soon.
There will be NO shaming on here!! I am also really struggling. This time of year, even if I'm just at home, I just want to eat junk food and sweets! I guess its my way of reliving the past, happier times, when my mother baked good cookies, and as kids with all my siblings, we just ate that stuff, and never had to worry about our weight.
But we are so happy to see you back.
I think a good goal is to just maintain through the holidays, and keep coming on here. Keeps us at least somewhat mindful.
You are doing great --- we'll all get through this together!6 -
For the October to December Challenge
Still better than I was at the start. And to think I thought 5 pounds was too little to target. HA!
Start = 194.0
Nov 5 = 190.5
Dec 1 = 191.6
I made a huge to do list for today. I just can't figure out who's going to do it.
Still lurking not very social lately, but life's OK.

Man o man, yesterday was a day of snacking for me! I haven't been extra hungry with this pregnancy but yesterday it seemed like I added 5 extra snacks to my day I know the baby is in a growth spurt according to the Dr. but they also say only 340 extra calories are needed. However yesterday 340 extra calories didn't satisfy my hunger, so I snacked more Not a good day to skip the elliptical, although I did walk on campus for 20 min. w/ my backpack so that helped I guess.
Friday 12/1 JFT:

All of them.
My OH and the kids were like wtf. They only had a couple each and I scoffed the rest. I just couldn’t stop!
And then I started on the crisps and then my partner put an end to the eating spree haha5 -

Friday
1. pack All packed, and ready to get on a early flight tomorrow morning to be with my son and grandsons!!! While I will only see my son for the one nite (he has to travel on business, and asked me to come and spend time with the boys, as this is his week to have them), spending time with my grandsons will be priceless!! They are going through a lot --- and I am so happy my son asked me to come and be with them!
2. log all food
3. go to grocery store to have stuff for hubby
4. laundry
5. clean house
6. get ready for my flight to see grandsons -- eat healthy while I am there!
I will try and get on here while I am gone, but my goals for the 4 days I will be gone are very simple
1. buy lots of lettuce, veggies, and eat as healthy as I can while the grandsons are at school!
2. go out for a walk everyday on my sons acreage (I am hoping that Michigan is not too cold!)
3. drink lots of water
4. enjoy the time with my precious little grandsons
5. get back on here next friday -- be accountable!
I hope you all have a fantastic week!!! You are all the best! . I look forward every nite getting on here - seeing how we are all working towards our goals. This is a place to vent, tell about our struggles, boost each other up, and just be here for one another. So thank you for helping me on this journey.
When I started in January to lose weight, I figured by June I would be at my goal weight. I am realizing that as I get older, all the ups and downs it takes to break old habits, that it takes time. Some months I do great; other months I go backwards.
But this thread has helped me to never give up. I consider all of you my dear friends, so thank you!

Well today has turned out to be more eventful than I had ever wished for. I was sooo excited that the day was going productive and lunch was very pleasant. Then as I prepared to get on my elliptical (no joke) I received word that there was a suspect with a gun at my son's High School So I immediately loaded up my dog and rushed down to the high school. Swat didn't clear the school until a little past 4 pm!! Needless to say, my afternoon plans were all cancelled!! Thankfully our police controlled the situation, response time was 5 min and they apprehended all suspects. Luckily it is Friday, which gives everyone some time to take this all in. We'll see what develops from this. Sorry to ramble on about this drama, but it drastically affected my goals for the day
The most I'll acknowledge the silly, nonrelavent drama here on JFT, is to say.....I do not give attention to "cry babies" throwing tantrums. Therefore I will just continue with my regular JFT. I hope everyone is doing well and can overcome any negativity that is surrounding them. Be blessed and have a good evening / day3 -

Thank you Joan! I really believe this was meant to be! Very happy.
Enjoy your time with your grandsons. It isn't supposed to be terribly cold in WI, so I'm thinking Michigan should be pretty close to the same weather. Have a wonderful trip! We'll be here when you get back! xoxo2 -

Wow - that is scarry! We had a similar lockdown at one of the high schools near us yesterday- they spotted someone carrying a gun not too far from the school! It is so sad that little kids have to worry about things like this.
I am glad that everyone is OK! That would derail any exercise time for me also! But glad everyone is OK!4 -

Thank you for understanding. It is sad that kids have to deal with these events but I believe every generation has their struggles. Luckily my son is very educated about evil existing in our world and he was not traumatized by the situation. However there were some who seemed traumatized. We do live in a Christian community so I believe the churches and schools will come together for all the kiddos.
@joan6630 I hope you enjoy your trip! Have fun, laugh, and don't stress over any silliness We all care about each other here and I know I'll keep on keeping on Be blessed young lady4 -

Very late logging in today, just catching up. Sorry to see drama return, but I flagged that post as abuse as I feel it's totally out of line. I am not upset or offended by any post except disrespect. As I've posted before, each person here has their own journey, and we are here to be supportive & respectful of each journey.
I will continue to post here. You are all my JFTers! I look forward to this thread every day.
@OConnell5483 You sound so happy in all of your recent posts! So glad for you.
@joan6630 Have a great trip! The highs in Green Bay over the weekend are above normal (mid to upper 40s) so hope that's warm enough for you in MI.

Awhhh I missed all the drama
The post has been deleted so I can’t read it now!
Damn the time zone!
I’m assuming it was something against me?
@mmartin7613 Please don’t leave.
This was something that happened a while ago. And (whatever she said) she just started up again! Don’t let random people on the internet get to you. It’s pretty laughable that someone even tries to start a fight on the internet?
I’ve really enjoyed you coming on sharing Videos and that and we want this thread to help you not make you feel uncomfortable. You just gotta ignore the *kitten* sometimes.1 -

How is your son? Is he okay?

@slittlemeister and @cschmitz110515 Thank you! I am feeling so much less stress it is almost like I don't know what to do with myself! I know that I haven't really dug into the meat & potatoes of the job yet and it will get much busier...overwhelming at times, especially since I'm learning...but I believe it will be a different kind of stress and I'm super excited about the move. I really feel it was the right one. There are so many "little things" that are better for my particular life already that I feel like it was just meant to be at just the right time.
@MLHC1 I would have been terrified! I'm so glad your son is okay and that nobody was hurt!
Today is Saturday and I don't have to work!!! WHOOP WHOOP! (Sorry...just had to say that! LOL)
Just for Saturday:
1. Stay in the green
2. Ten 8oz of water today
3. Reach step goal plus 200
4. Go to Titletown Brewery's Craft Show if I can find my daughter to go with me!
5. Sew on quilt.... @Bex953172 It's getting closer! Part of me wants to at least show you the materials but I want it to be a surprise!!!
6. Seize the day and do whatever else I feel like doing that brings me either peace or joy.
7. One random act of kindness
8. Unplug tonight, write in gratitude journal and read.
Big hugs to the group! You're all awesome and such good friends to me, in my heart. Keep up the great work!3 -
slittlemeister wrote: »Hi everyone!
I've been taking a bit of a break from posting lately - I've got lots going on at the moment and have decided to take a little break from daily posting to free up some time for other things that are important to me (learning French!)
I am keeping an eye on what's going on though as I want to know how you are all getting on!
@OConnell5483 Happy your new job is going well so far! Definitely a good decision. If nothing else, isn't it nice to have a change!
@Bex953172 Sorry to hear you are not having a great pregnancy at the moment. I agree that once your cough shifts it will be easier. Have you tried Beecham's All-in-one? (The liquid one). For me it works wonders. I'd ask the pharmacist whether it's ok in pregnancy though as its powerful stuff
I'm still in the October-December challenge and I will post how I'm doing weekly throughout December!
So here we go, December 1st....
October 1st weight: 168 lb
December 1st weight: 171.25 lb
So overall, not doing so well!
BUT - what this doesn't show is that on November 1st I was actually about 175 lb but just didn't log it. October was a bad month for me, I got into a negative mindset and it kind of spiralled.
I decided 'enough is enough' though and am now on my way back down.
Am determined to lose those 3lb before Christmas, and then maintain that weight. I know I can do that - it is perfectly achieveable for me. I am actually quite lucky in that my body loses weight pretty easily when I manage to stick to my calorie targets, and actually I seem to lose weight slightly faster than MFP predicts. It's a mental battle for me really - STICKING to the targets is the problem!
But I'm going to do it. This is me, committing to do it. You can all shame me if I don't. (Genuinely - I need some tough love sometimes).
I hope everyone else is doing well! Catch up soon.
I just want you to know I'm right there with you! Although I was still posting when I could, I was not reaching most of my goals because I was so stressed out and just gave up. Didn't care. Even bought larger sweaters to hide my increasingly growing carb belly. I have gained weight since the beginning of the year. I think life just took over my brain and I just felt like everything was out of control.
But I'm also feeling like enough is enough and I am determined to at least reach the 160's by end of December.
I've noticed in this new job that I care more about what I wear and how I look. I'm meeting with executives almost every day and in my old job I was in a basement where I never saw anyone...wore jeans every day. Big difference~
So....This is me committing to it right along with you! Feel free to kick me in the hinder when I need it also. I need that accountability I think. I'm so glad to see you back. I feel a special "kinship" to you because we have had so many of the same work struggles!
Have a great weekend!

@Bex953172
My son is fine.
They arrested three students. These were minors with guns on public school property, that is against the law!! Criminals do not care about the law, that's why they are criminals, lol.3 -

Hi - I'm back. I need support & MLHC1(Superhero) let me know that this is where I will find it. I really do enjoy reading about your ups & down & pick me back up stories. You are inspiring.
So I drank about litre of rootbeer last night which put me over 600 cal. I've done so well this week so no beating my self up. My only vice that I have left is sugar and I WILL defeat this one too.
JFT
Weekend breakfast
80oz of water
Long walk/hike/run with my son.
20 min video work out (if i have it in me after the hike)
Help neighbors with pathway before the snow comes.
Keep it at 1200 cal (no rootbeer)
Thank you for being here. Have a sweet weekend.
