Happy for @7lenny7 that Kody came back safe... what a night. I've got a cat that waits at the door whenever he hears the key turning and bolts out the minute he can squeeze through. Glad he's never gotten far yet - he stops at the elevators and runs back home terrified when someone comes out.
Re: knees, I busted my knees cycling (had my seat too low for too long and pedaling too hard) and then fixed them through running. People look at me funny when I tell this story. But I guess it's a common myth, and people fish for the first excuse they can find for not joining us in the pursuit of love and life and all that jazz.5 -

Not that you asked for my two cents... but I love my Orange Mud double quiver. It takes a few runs to get used to it, but damn is it ever more comfortable than a traditional hydration pack! ❤️
I recently acquired one myself and with my cold weather gear it is working well, but I am concerned when summer comes and I am in my sleeveless top that it might chaff.0 -

I too had my seat too low, for my entire life apparently. What a difference it made when I moved it up and I could finally use my entire range of leg motion!0 -
I am so worried that my running is going to be thrown off over the next week or so. I am supposed to assist one of my staff during her first on-call rotation, but I have a feeling I will end up doing a lot of the work. It seems like every time I try to get out the door for even 30 minutes, my phone rings. I’m crossing fingers I can make it happen.

9/30 - first marathon!5 -
March goal: Run END-SURE well, stay healthy and enter the final stages of Zumbro training
Nominal mileage goal: Let's say 140? I really don't know. Real plan is to follow training and coach's advice well.
3/1- REST
3/2- 4.3
3/3- 13.3
3/4- 14.3
3/5- REST
3/6- 7.4
3/7- 6.7
3/8- REST
3/9- 4.2
3/10- 24.8
3/11- 11.4
3/12- REST
3/13- 9.3
Total: 95.3
Today's notes: Man, the time change is STILL kicking my butt. There, I got that out of the way. Assignment was 2x3.5miles at 7:40-7:45 pace (goal was 26:50 per rep) with 5 minute recovery, plus 10 minute warm up and cool down.
Got up at 0410 and heard my little man having a grand old time upstairs... Lovely. Not really a big deal though, as he normally falls back asleep, so I head out for my run. Made it just over a mile in my 10 minute warm up and got down to business.
First rep went well, all mile splits were under 7:40, and the last half mile was 3:48, for a total time of 26:38.8 all good. I could really feel that first rep though so I knew that the second one was going to be "fun." walked for part of my recovery, because I was coughing up a lung... yay for postnasal drip.... ugh.... and jogged the rest.
Second rep was harder. First mile split came in at 7:41, so in the target range, but not fully on target. Fortunately, the last 2.5 miles of the rep all came in under 7:40 pace and brought my average pac down to target. Ended up with a time of 26:45.8 for the second rep.
I'm feeling pretty good about the workout. I was not expecting to be able to make my pace goals, as the intervals were longer than I've done at that pace. I feel like I probably could have done this workout as 2x4mile, but I'm totally happy with it being a 2x3.5, since it did pretty much feel "comfortably hard," like it was supposed to.
Hope everyone has a Runderful day!

Thanks for your recommendation as well as @PastorVincent comments and it will be something to consider. Will be sure to give it a look.0 -
Dang internet....I’ll have to update my ticker once my laptop decides to connect. Wanted to get in 13 miles today but when my alarm went off at 1:30 I hit snooze. My first thought was why the hell is my alarm going off. Lol. Got out the door about 3 and was able to knock down 10.51 miles.5

I started running before I started cycling. When I started cycling I kept having all kinds of new pains I never had with running. IT Band, knees, etc. So then I had a professional fitting and it was like magic. The only problem I have is whenever I need a new bike seat... then I have to work on adjusting that myself. There are lots of cyclists in the Central Florida area, so lots of professional bike fitters, but I've heard some horror stories about bad fittings -- where it really messed up people's knees. I got lucky with the guy I went to. People always ask me if I like cycling or running more. Running is always the answer.
Cycling is fun too but with running I can do it anywhere. I like being alone in my thoughts. Or listening to music. Or listening to a book. Doing intervals. Or a long slow run. It's all good! And I've met so many great people through running - both virtual friends and in-the-flesh ones.6 -

Now I feel like such a slug for not getting up when my alarm went off at 4 am!
I sometimes feel like a slug when I see post about getting up at 3 or 4 in the morning. But then I remind myself that I go to bed around 10:30-11, so if my alarm went off at 1:30 I would have only been in bed about 3 hours and I need more sleep than that to function, much less run.4 -

Today's run will be on the treadmill in the basement. I'm not going out in that!
