Hi friends. Well I had a good day yesterday, got my exercise in and ate well. By the time I thought about logging in and posting, it was 1030 and I had to get up at 5, so I went to bed! It’s now about noon and I am resting after teaching for four hours straight…0730-1130. Whew!
Hi Becca. What a wonderful thoughtful gift!
Lisa: I’m laughing right along with you! I’m sorry about your knees!
Allie: did you dad have enough in escrow to pay the attorney fees, etc?
Terry: hang in there you can do this! Although I have to say when I first read your post I thought you wrote “Eating still ON the toilet” and I was wondering why! :O
Machka: your ride sounds awesome. Happy Birthday! Love the pics
Barbara AHMOD: Yes micro actions are about all I can manage some days!!!
Kylia: I wish I could find my fitbit! I was obsessive about my steps. I recently charged it, and now it’s lost. I remember taking it out of the charger and putting that away. That is in the right place. I can find the rubber holder for it, but the fitbit is nowhere to be found!
Laura: I hope you feel better soon! I hate changing our clocks!
Betty: I hope you feel better physically and emotionally soon. I’ll be sending good thoughts your way.
Someone mentioned that It’s organize your home office day. OMG you should see my home office! Papers piled everywhere, a huge pile for the shredder, can’t find a thing. So here’s my micro-action. Every time I go in there I will shred a handful of papers.
OK time to get back to teaching. Take care, Meg from sunny Omaha
Take your shredder out of the office and put it by yer lazyboy. Put on a great movie and just keep feeding. Also keep an open garbage bag to dump periodically. Happy shredding!

Hugs ladies! Husband is nervous today. He has been avoiding thinking about it, so I need to get my game face on! Maybe we might go out to dinner tonight. Going to bed pretty early, so we can get up at 2am.

Barbie and Becca~ thinking of Jake and Lee and both of you..will have your hands full. have about 10 inches of snow so far.. hope it will stop soon..will keep you all in my prayers..5

Meg ~ We took our pile of papers from over 20 yrs ago to a business that shreds. It was quick and not too expensive. I hate the sound of the home shredder. Reminds me of going to the dentist.

Ladies dealing with their husband's surgeries, I am sending as much strength and healing energies as the post office of karma can handle! My husband had an aneurysm and blood clots in December. He was in the hospital for 3 weeks after surgery. It sounds like you are so much more prepared than I was. I just remember it was so exhausting! Take care of yourself so you can care for him.
My day is full. Birthday party for myself and my oldest granddaughter tonight. My mom is driving in as well. I baked an angel food cake to be served with blueberries and cream. I got 15 year old Ivy a retro Kit Cat clock. You know the one that has eyeballs that move in time with its tail? She loves cats!
DH has been hiding presents for me in the basement. Now they are all wrapped up on the bed made up for mom. He seems very excited. Fun Fun
Scale went down again this morning. It appears I have now traveled 51% down my weight loss path. I might go buy me some blue jeans!
Have a great day!!
~Laura~5 -
Laura- Happy Birthday to you and your Granddaughter! It sounds like you have a fantastic day planned for Celebrating3

Good afternoon Ladies -
Happy Birthday Laura and congrats on passing 50% of your goal! Awesome!
Yeah Lisa on the scale! Congrats!
Becca and Barbie - prayers continue for you and your spouses!
I think I need an intervention. I decided to have a few friends over this weekend for St. Patricks Day. This has sent me into a cleaning frenzy. Truth be told, they could care less what my house looks like. It is rarely messy, but it gets dirty (I think). I am not good about mopping, I hate to mop, it hurts my back. I have been cleaning all kinds of stuff in preparation of mopping last on Friday, or Thursday and Friday so I can break up the back pain. I think I will head in now and do a couple of rooms of wood floors, they are easy to do and I have already dusted them so a quick vacuum and then I can clean them. That much less to do after work tomorrow or Thursday or Friday. The hubs is gone this week so I don't have a time I have to stop to fix dinner or anything. I think I'll call it my Spring Cleaning and be done with it until Fall .
On the scale front, I was back down to my low point Monday. We'll see if I can continue the downward trend or if I will continue my three weeks of back and forth. Here's hoping the downward trend starts again!
Have a great evening ladies, I'm off to get out the sweeper!

Tuesdays are my weigh in days, down one more pound today. Makes me happy If I could lose a pound a week between now and my grandson's wedding I'd look like "foxy grams" lol
Worked most of the day cleaning house. Ugh, certainly makes me miss my cleaning service.
Sold two of my eggs yesterday.
Love to you all ladies
Janetr OKC (where is the sun is shining but not particularly warm but supposed to be beautiful weekend)

Janet, congratulations on selling the eggs. Were they sold through the store?
Janet, Okie and Laura (and anyone I missed), doing the Snoopy happy dance for your weight loss!
Laura, hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration!
Shoveled snow off the deck when I got home. Thought I’d better get what was there off as we have more coming.

Cooking dinner at 4pm my husband says. Madness, utter madness!!! Heehee! I am making steak, corn on the cob and steak fries! As Grandpa on HeeHaw would say, "Yum, yum"!

Hello all: Took DH to urologist today and then went to pool so he could do his knee exercises since he did not see PT today. I got in a good workout in the pool. Food has been good today, taco soup for dinner is in the crockpot.
Becca - You've got this, just breathe. Healing angels to Lee.
Barbie - Seems you have everything well organized and ready to go. Healing angels to Jake.
Laura - Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like a great day.
Terry - Those ice icicles remind me of SD. Makes me glad I no longer live there. Our apple tree is just beginning to bud and the daffodils are up. Hang in there.
Betty - Sending healing angels your way.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Here in Minnesota this could be the sign of an ice dam. What causes this is the heat from your home goes into the attic. If there is not enough insulation it causes the snow on you roof to melt and causes the icicles and ice dams. You might need to get professionals to remove it. Without removal it can cause water damage to your interior.
I hope I am wrong.2 -

Did an hour of Zuka Power Cardio DVD Disk 2. Boy, are they great workouts. The plan for tomorrow is to do the Fit in 10 DVD - disk 2. We have a Newcomer general meeting that day.
Coffeeandpie - Good for you no added sugar. Would dried fruit help with the sweet cravings?
M - I have never been able to touch my toes. Not ever. I have the tightest hamstrings this side of the Atlantic. You have them on that side of the Atlantic....lol
Betty - we'll miss you. Please stop in when you can. Hope your health issues go away real fast. Sending good thoughts your way
Becca - I wouldn't call you a penny pincher, I would call you thrifty and smart. Amost all my clothes are from the Salvation Army. Last night someone complimented me on the sweatshirt I was wearing and asked me where I'd gotten it. I think they were surprised when I said "the Salvation Army"
Terry - I'm sick about the dragonfly. After all the hours I put into it. And to think that lady had the clear glaze at the table, not where you should be clear glazing. I really should have asked if I could have used another container. If only she was clear glazing where she should have been. It just needed to be fired and then the jewels put on it. Oh well.... But it's all water under the bridge now. I'll just get another one and have Jess again draw the eyes for me and maybe I'll have her do the the things on the wings. Double boo snow. I must miss it...I don't see thunder thighs on Tony
Yvonne - every time I get that weekly resume from MFP, I'm always, almost always, low on fat and too high in carbs. But I also know that most of the carbs are from veges and fruits, I eat very little breadstuff
I've gotten to where I prefer the taste of the low sodium cottage cheese. I tried the no salt cottage cheese once when I was up by Jess and didn't like it. I think that's because my taste buds were expecting salt. If I'd had it for a while, I'd probably get used to it
Katla - so sorry for the death in Arrow's owner's family. That is so nice of you to step up and help take care of him.
Heather - I'm so impressed with your running. I don't know if I would run, walk fast yes, but I don't know about all the jarring from running. That is...except running in the water.
Meg - how frustrating that you can't find your fitbit. One day it'll turn up when you least expect it. I know this sounds really weird, but did you check your kitchen drawers like where you keep your forks and knives? Where you keep your pots? I've found things in strange places. Like one time I found a hand broom under my sink. Guess I had it in my hand, went to get something under the sink and just put it down there.
Beth - don't worry, when I worked at the Y, I got high marks in everything except remembering member's names. Ask me any detail about someone and I could tell you, but not their name.
I almost forgot that I need to eat my breakfast!
Meg - we took all our papers that needed shredding (and trust me, Vince kept EVERYTHING) when they had a senior gathering and did the shredding for seniors for free. We didn't stay for their talks because we knew that they were just going to try to sell us something. But we did take the papers for shredding.
Laura - congrats!!!! On the birthdays and your teriffic weight loss
Went to the class on borders (cake). It was interesting, but I think I knew a lot of the things. Well, some of the techniques I need to get down, but I know a lot of that comes with practice. Like I practiced the shell border and was finally getting it. Now have cookies for Vince. Found out how to shade some of the icing. Like you put a coating of one color in the bag and then fill it with another. When you pipe it, the flowers have a tinge of color to them. That was interesting. Oh no...I just realized that I forgot to close the part of the dishwasher so that the tips and couplers get cleaned and don't go all over. I think I lost part of one coupler. Oh well...they aren't that expensive. The lady kept complaining at the class "I think your icing is too thin". I know she wants me to buy that nasty Wilton stuff. All I could think of was "well, you told me to make it thinner. Normally I wouldn't have".
Terry - you know what the pic of the icicle reminds me? That scene in Christmas story where Ralphie goes out to shoot his gun and steps on his glasses? He uses the excuse that an icicle hit him in the eye.
Well, off to take a shower. Newcomer general meeting tomorrow.

I've never been able to touch my toes either. I got close during the 2 winters I took yoga classes. They actually helped quite a bit ... but that was more than a decade ago.
Over the next 2 weeks, I really need to work at loosening everything up. I'm planning to visit my chiro and if I can, I'll book a massage therapy session. Plus my foam roller.
I suspect my back pain while cycling has to do with everything just tightening up too much.
I actually salt my full-sodium cottage cheese. After work each weekday, I measure out 100 grams of cottage cheese, salt it, then cut up cucumbers and other raw veggies and mix them in, and salt them all. And that's my after work snack.

The icicles are because one day it’s warmer then turns cold again. Yesterday the sun was out and it felt much warmer. Today back to snow and cold.3 -
Unfortunately I was referring to me not the dog when I said thunder thighs. Lol4

M - it wouldn't surprise me one bit if your back pain was due to your tight hamstrings. I'm sure that's what is causing some of my back pain. You probably need extra sodium with all the bike riding you do
Terry - I still don't see any thunder thighs. When we lived in the Poconos there were some people who actually had heaters in their gutters to prevent a build up of ice.
Well, the dishwasher just finished and both of those couplers were at the bottom of the dishwasher. Next time I use them I think I'm going to have to put them in some sort of bag to wash them as the one that I know I put in where I could put a cover on it was at the bottom of the dishwasher.

Michele, too bad about the dragonfly, all that work gone in a split second... good attitude tho, you are right about the colour choices not having to be made again!
Terry, so sorry to hear about your cousins wife. My hope is that her pain can be controlled and that she not suffer.
That brass necklace is lovely! I didn't see any thunder thighs either!
Janetr, congrats on selling a couple of your eggs, they really are very pretty.
Heather, so nice that you were able to spend some time with your friend. Also, congrats on your running! I agree with the person who said that it doesn't matter how long it took you to run the 5k, the fact is that you RAN it! That is a huge accomplishment!
Congrats to those who are celebrating victories! HUGS to those who need them! My wi is tomorrow, I don't think it will be a good one. My eating habits this past week have left a lot to be desired. My biggest hope is that I haven't gained much. Time will tell...
Hope everyone has a great day/night.

hello my friends. Terry, you have ruined how much fun an icicle can be! My innocence has been taken away from me!
Got my results from all my testing yesterday. Blood sugar was 109. I don't think I will ever hit that 99 mark. But cholesterol and triglycerides were good. Mammogram shows that I am my mother's daughter. She had fibro cystic disease, my sister has it and I do also. When my girls get old enough to get them done, I am sure they will also have it, my sisters daughter I'm sure will never have one done. Bone density showd the same thing as my last one, osteopenia. He removed the abnormal freckle on my back. I can't even tell there are stitches there. He said he is pleased with the recovery from the stroke. All my pain shows nerves are recovering, and more of the fingers are painful so it is coming along nicely. Well I will be glad to give it to him to go home and try to do normal activities and then he can see if it is good. But he is right. He did say I could increase the Lyrica to 4 times a day and I can go up from there if I need it and gave me permission to do it myself at home. We did it for my Tegretol when I had my trigeminal neuralgia so I know what he means. My B/P there was wonderful so over all he was pleased with everything and wants to see me back in 3 months.
Becca and Barbie, I will be thinking and praying for you and your husbands Ll week long. You know they will be OK. It but you just have to get there.
Betty, I am sorry you are having health concerns that will keep you from here, you know we specialize in helping people through health concerns. But you know your body so come back when you can
Maybe if we all have good thoughts about Miriam and Sylvia, they will come back.
I am looking at my hand and I look like my Mom. I have always physically looked like her. I took a picture of her when my girls were born and she was holdin one of them as a newborn. Many years later I took a picture of me holding my first grand child. I really do look like her. But I have those old lady finger look and I am only 68. Ewwwwww, saying in only 68 makes me feel really old.
I hope when this posts that it won't have this large blank area in the upper left corner. I have had to type throu it hoping what I was wanting to say was there,
All of our snow is gone, I wish the cold weather would go away. It is supposed to be 25 degrees at 7 AM tomorrow.
I have been tired all day today, don't know why. Depression???
Joyce, Indianna5 -
Michelle here in Minnesota when a new roof is needed you have to have an extra layer of black tarp placed at the roof line to prevent the damage ice can cause if it backs up under your roof. It is code here. Ice can back up under the roof and without that extra protection the water seeps down into your walls and can cause major damage to interior walls. Yes heaters in your gutters can also prevent such damage. As I said earlier one of the best ways to prevent ice dams here is to have enough roof insulation so the heat from your home does not melt the snow on the roof. We are starting to melt the massive amount of snow here but our home does not have those kind of icicles. If it did I would be calling in a professional to get rid of the ice.
We still have lots of snow on the ground from some major storms about a week ago. I feel for the east coast because I know how awful it is to find places for that heavy wet snow and how hard it is to shovel it. I hope you can find someone with a plow or a snow blower that can handle that kind of snow. If not be careful shoveling all that snow.

JanetR: Congratulations on selling some of your fabulous ornaments.
Michelle: Thank you for the kind words. Arrow's owners have been generous and kind to me beyond my wildest expectations. I am happy to return their kindness and generosity by helping a little when I can. I am so sorry that your beautiful dragon fly was ruined because of someone else's carelessness.
Joyce: Blood sugar of 109 isn't perfect, but it is pretty good. I'd consider it a win. I'm not diabetic but I've lived with one for more than 40 years. I think you're doing a good job of self-care in this situation and you'll get better at managing your blood sugar as you go along. :flowerforyou:
It is only 9pm here, but I'm ready for rest. I've been busy all day with various chores, ending with a city planning meeting. Now I just want to read & sleep.

Yes it will.
And your calves are sore from descending.
When I haven't climbed stairs in a while, it is the descent that gets my calves. Ouch!! But I keep doing it and two or three days later, it's OK.
If you can, try incorporating climbing stairs into your week ... even just a few times a week, up and down 5 or more flights of stairs. Your calves will thank you on your next hike.

Woohoo! My office is on a hill on the 4th floor. I am climbing steps all day long.
