(((Becca))): I tried to reach you this morning to send you my phone number but didn't succeed. I hope all is well. (((HUGS)))
Becca: Doing the happy dance for you and your DH. I'm so glad that the surgery went well.
Barbie: Thanks for letting us know that Jake's surgery went well. I hope this surgery does the trick and Jake is stronger and happier as a result.
Heather: I like the possible book cover art you've shown us. It is outstanding and evocative. Happy Birthday to Bea!!!
We went to the dentist for our semi-annual check up & teeth cleaning this morning and all went well. Then we went out for lunch and shopping. I found some earrings that I wanted to give to DGD for her birthday. They're in a lovely decorative box and on their way via US mail. I found them in an independent jewelry business in a neighboring town. The jeweler creates wonderful original pieces; some are in gold, some in silver. (He did the work to size my wedding ring up and down -up because I gained so much weight I couldn't get it on my finger, and down after I found MFP and lost the extra weight.) We'd already ordered DGD a sanho yopo for her birthday. (This is a stretchy outfit to wear for dance and play as I understand it.) Now she has two gifts from us and we're working on a package for all three kids for Easter.

Hello ladies, I'm here early because my Wednesday evening tv is some of my favorite.
I am so grateful that both Barbie and Becca's husbands came through surgery fine. And Becca has a good place to,sleep tonight. Nit the hard part starts for all.
We usually have a restaurant that will offer a free piece nor pie today but I haven't seen any. Bob Evans is offering free Mointain Dew this week. But that has nothing to do with Pi day.
I feel a bit drunk with this dose of Lyrica. But the pain is a bit better if I watch what I a, touching. But I don't want to have to watch what I touch, I was paying bills this afternoons and I had this lap desk on my lap. Funny how a lap desk goes on your lap. Anyway, it is extremely cold for my hand to be on. I hate it that I am left handed and the stroke affected my left hand.
So that is me today, a drunk lady with a cold hand, but the fingers don't hurt as much and that counts.
Beautiful babies.

Barbie and Becca- Yea for the successful surgeries!
Heather- How did I NOT know that my pi-boy shares a birthday with your beautiful Bea?! I love that smile on her face! And those rosy cheeks and twinkly eyes...I bet she is a handful!
katla- lol You know I am going to have to Google sanho yopo to see this outfit?! Intriguing!.........okay, just looked it up on Amazon. Those are kind of cool. My kiddos would have a blast in those.
Margaret- Those books sound right up my alley. Going to have to look for those. Thanks for the info!
Made the family Mongolian chicken and wild rice, with broccoli and mushroom side for dinner. I made a soup with leftover buffalo chicken, low sodium chicken stock, mushrooms and rice. It was good and I didn't even miss the Mongolian sauce (for me, the meat and bread is only a way to convey the delicious sauces into my mouth).
Heading to bed. ttfn xoxoxo KJ6 -

Becca and Barbie! Thanks for sharing the good news on your guys! Now you can get some rest and relaxation while they begin the healing process.
Kelly - I can't believe Joaquin is a year old already. Thanks for sharing the newborn and recent photos! I don't recall any of the problems that you're having with your "girls" other than mine seemed to be swollen and painful a lot during peri-meno! Fibrocystic like Joyce mentioned. I think I wore a bra 24/7 just to keep them from getting "jostled" lol. Once I reached meno once and for all, that stopped thankfully and I see with weight loss they are shrinking up a bit. Fine with me-less for gravity to pull south!
Heather - Bea is such a cutie. At what age do children in the UK start school? Is there anything like a pre-school or what we call kindergarten before they go into regular day-long school?
Kate - Enjoy Spain! Hope you have sunny and nice weather!!
Yesterday I stopped at a local flooring business. They do a TON of the luxury vinyl and had zillions of samples and a lot installed on their own floors there. I think we'll have them come out to do an estimate. I am guessing it will cost more than Home Depot but the installers live here in the community and their reputation is top-notch.
Today I received my first allergy shots and dropped off the serum at the doctor's office, will go in the next 2 Wednesdays for shots then come April it's twice a week. I am so ready - sneezing, nose running the past few days so hope it does the trick.
Rita - I don't think I could give myself those shots. Do you inject in the arm? Tummy? EEUUWWW, lol.
Have a wonderful evening!!

Good evening
It has been an emotionally exhausting week for me. I did lose 1 pound!
Sue in WA-what is it with Drs? They give us something that works for us and then want to take it away! I take estradiol 2mg every day. I was having migraines every week, was a @#$%&, hot flashes, cold freezes, hair falling out in clumps. I was a mess! All the above stopped in a few days of starting meds. Okay, sometimes I can still be bad, and took a couple of weeks for hair to slow down, but it worked. My migraines are now only weather related, strong fronts hurt head. I average one a month, sometimes 3 months between. When they tried reducing dosage, I had a 3 day migraine that put me to bed! I understand there are risks, but no family history to cause undo concern. I am happy to sign their papers and keep taking. Good luck with your Dr.
Becca and Barbie-peace and hugs!

Barbie and Becca- wonderful news
Felicia - did you HAVE to tell me about your warm weather, especially when we got snow this morning. Admitted, it didn't last long at all. And tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 60's. Talk about mother nature not taking her meds....lol

Becca and Barbie, I’m so relieved to hear good news from both of you.
Lanette, I am following your flooring story with interest. I want luxury vinyl tiles for my kitchen and prefinished hardwood for my bedrooms, living room and hall, but can not afford either right now since we are spending so much on our bathrooms. One step at a time. We hope to have enough saved to do the hardwood by summer and maybe the kitchen early next year or maybe December. Our one quote we got for LVT for the kitchen and laundry room was $5000. I’m hoping we can find a more affordable price.
Non-scale victory: in honor of Pi day, Kroger had pie on sale for $3.14. I resisted all.

Hi Sisters, so good to hear of successful surgery outcomes. I have been out putting my hives into order for winter. Made sure everybody was strong, put queens back into hives, combined some hives to make them stronger, added boxes, put half a dozen nuke boxes back into storage for next year, went through splits to make sure they had queens, all good now and ready for coming cold times.
Started looking through old photos as nephew's 21st is coming up and a request was made for any pics we had, and it was so, so good to remember all those happy times throughout the years, birthdays and Christmas, and pony riding, and playing with puppies and beach days and holidays and dress ups and Christmas plays... And I have decided to buy a printer/scanner and save these onto the Cloud where I have set up an account and have made a start in backing up my computer pics...but all these old pics are pre-digital and if we had a fire they would be gone forever. Wedding photos. Long dead loved ones. I will save these because my great grandies might be interested one day...My kids were so cute! And I have had a wonderful life! Boy I was a skinny little thing. I am going to redouble my efforts to shed some fat-LOL. I hardly ever look backwards, as I have so much going on right now, and mostly I am thinking about what I want to make happen in the future...but sometimes it is good to look at an overview of one's life, so far. The best is yet to come. Love Ya All, Wendy10 -
Kelly and Heather, thank you so much for sharing the photos of Bea and Joaquin! They are both so cute!
Heather, the book cover looks great, definitely thought provoking.
Kelly, I don't recall my nipples being super sensitive, sure hope you can find some relief.
Becca and Barbie, so glad to hear that the fellas came through their surgeries okay! Now comes the fun part..... Thinking good thoughts for all of you for speedy and uneventful recoveries.
Well, wi was today and as I suspected would be the case, I gained. It was not pretty, but it did give me the kick in the pants that I needed to get me through today anyway. We'll see how tomorrow goes.... I didn't go to the gym today but I did get a few things done, things that I've been putting off for awhile now. Got our taxes done, getting a healthy refund so happy about that. Also got my laundry folded and got the rest of our son and soon to be daughter in laws wedding present. Decided to get them a set of sheets and some bath sheets (large towels). Had to wait for it all to go on sale as regular price is just too much. I also had gift cards for the towels, still had to pay some real money, but a fraction of the full price. Even got hubby out for a walk this afternoon! It was a good day, despite the scale. Hope everyone has a great day/night.

Becca and Barbie: Wonderful news to hear the procedures for your DHs went well. Hope the aftercare is manageable for you
Kelly and Heather: Just love the smiles on Joaquin and Bea. Happy Pi Birthdays!
DH and I just got in the door from our little holiday in Glenwood Springs, CO. The train trip was gorgeous. The weather was superb -- in the 50's each day. We never needed our coats. We stayed in the Hotel Colorado, a stately old historic property where many presidents and VIPs have stayed to soak in the mineral springs and enjoy the scenic beauty. It has a strong linkage to Theodore Roosevelt. As the story goes, he came up empty after one of his epic bear hunting trips, so the hotel housekeeping staff took some towels and fabrics and fashioned a bear -- the first "Teddy" bear.
Despite his cognitive impairment, DH enjoyed the trip, especially the tour of the Historic Fairy Caves, the largest show cave in Colorado. The original owner was ahead of his time, and had the cave fitted with electric lights in the early 1900's so he could take people through them for a penny.
I really liked the walk we took in Two Rivers Park. The Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers converge here, both fed by snow melt from the Rocky Mountains. The Colorado River continues west all the way to California where it irrigates the crops and supplies drinking water to millions.
If anyone reading this is as much of a roller coaster geek as I am, I have a recommendation for you! Try the alpine coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This is the first coaster I've been on where you have levers you can pull back to slow down your car. However, this old coaster junkie took the entire ride down the mountain at full throttle.
I didn't have access to a gym, so I did find ways to get in extra steps. But my calories and carbs in, were definitely on the high side. Tomorrow it's back to the clean, clean, clean eating.
Okay friends. Thanks for indulging in my long-winded travelogue. Stay well. We can do this.

Oh Rori, what fun and sweet memories you recalled to mind. I loved Glenwood and we went as often as possible. I haven't lived in Denver for 20 years and I still truly miss the Colorado mountains. Thanks for bringing a nostalgic smile to my heart.

Still editing my memoir. I had some fun this morning playing with an idea for a cover. (Still haven't got my subtitle ). I also have to write a blurb for the back and a description on Amazon. This is as far as I got on the artwork. I am a complete beginner.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx

Happy Birthday Precious Joaquin and Darling Bea! Pi Babies both.
Becca and Barbie Glad the husband surgeries went well and you both have it behind you. Sending energy for healing.
Rori Awesome vacation. I love roller coasters, too. I still remember that when I was 4, the only family member who would go on the roller coaster with me was my Granny (Mom's mom).
Incredible life Stephen Hawking made for himself. My grandfather had ALS. Hard to imagine someone living more than 50 years after being diagnosed with ALS. What a remarkable man.
Went to Bonefish Grill last night with my partner. We shared everything and it was just the right amount of food. Usually we bring home leftovers and don't always eat them. It was great not to need a doggy bag. We had a salad, Mussels Josephine, and grilled Cobia (fish). I ate the green beans but only 2 bites of the potatoes au gratin. It was delicious.

BECCA and BARBIE so glad the surgeries went well, now you have to channel your inner nurse
Happy birthday to BEA and JOAQUIN don't know where that year went!
We were looking at photos with DD last weekend and couldn't believe how much weight I was carrying DH said I don't remember you being so fat, not sure if that was a compliment or not !!
Kate UK8 -
Kate UK - take it as a compliment... much easier than jail time!
Becca and Barbie - so pleased that everything went well... for all of you. Hope recovery goes just as well, and is swift and easy.
Happy birthdays to Bea and Joaquin! Such beautiful babies our grands are...
Joyce - hope the Lyrica does wonders.
My weight continues down in fits and starts. I'm 3.2 pounds from Onederland now, but in the bounce-back-up portion of the program. (I was at 202.8 yesterday, 203.1 today). I'll lose for two days, gain for one or two... The graph does wonders for my mood (and MFP has one, too, for those who haven't explored), as it shows the trend, rather than just the day-by-day. I don't track my weight on MFP, but just because I'm too lazy to make entries in two different places. I've also dropped a full pants size, which makes me happy.
For a quick mood pick-me-up, I just measure my waist, which is always where I drop weight first - my husband says I have an hourglass figure (good man!) but there's way more sand in the bottom than the top. You can take that as a metaphor for age or for my booty vs. upper body, whichever makes you happy, they're both true. I've lost three inches around my waist in six weeks, and only an inch and a half around my hips. Still... it's losing. I'm taking it.
They sent our daughter home from the field two days early, as she rolled an ankle badly. She refuses to go get it seen to, because she already knows they want to do surgery on it, which will disqualify her from worldwide duty while she's recovering - and for whatever reason, she really wants to go on this deployment. The entire family's working on her to get in and get seen, but she's a stubborn little git. She's also a woman grown, and it is her life and her leg. Am hoping it's some sort of attention-getting strategy, and she'll let the family sway her, but her motivations completely mystify me on occasion.
However it works out, we're still pulling out on the 13th--we need to get where we're going. And some good news, the son went and got a job, just waiting out the background check, which unless there's something we don't know, should be fine. It's at Wal-Mart, stocking and receiving, but in walking distance, so fingers crossed it all works out. Trying not to worry.
Off to the races - already two hours of work done, and another 12 to go. But, it's my Friday, and it should be a good day.
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC for 29 more days...9 -

having my tea and then getting Taliah on the bus, feeding my DFIL and getting the dogs out, then back to nursing home for quarterly meeting and then taking the munchkin to the orthodontist and back to school..
tomorrow I have a phone conference with my attorney, Tom has given me a proposal and I sent it to her, she doesnt agree, so monday we go to court again to get more money from him for my attorney.. that should tick him off.. Oh well..8 -
Good morning,
Heather UK- powerful cover!
Joyce- I too hope the Lyrica gives you some relief.
Rori- The trip looks and sounds wonderful. The memories are the best.
Kate UK- He is a brave man! Take it as a compliment!
Lisa in NC- Great job on the inches! That is great. You raised a strong woman. Hopefully, she will realize that she needs to get checked out before deploying. Easier to get taken care of at home.
I hope Barbie and Becca had peaceful nights and recoveries go smoothly for husbands.
My night was long! Don't know what my fur baby's problem was last night. She barked at midnight to go out. Took her out she speed and came back in. At 1230 she was barking again, at 1, she barked again, at 3 I threw her outside and left her. I needed sleep. It was warmer than it has been in 3 days. DH asks why I left her out? Sara rarely barks. The Shepard, Mandy, is our mouthy one. Btw- we live in the country with a fenced property, so no harm.
Busy day today. Work, hair coloring appt, Costco for supplies for electrician tomorrow, Lowe's for return, grocery for a couple of items. Snow, ice and cold last three days, 40 degrees and sunshine today. Will probably be busy at work.
We are looking to hire 2 more employees. Have had 20 resumes, called 7 that looked good, have had 1 call back! No one wants to work or they want $20 an hour. Frustrating. Have a young lady that wants to try. She is like me, in that she is willing to learn and a hard worker. I have to talk with SIL today. My suggestion is that she cones in and tries it for a couple of days before quitting her other job. We will see.
Better get ready for work
Have a day of the best choices you can make today,
