Did Kathy Kaehler Basics DVD (this is primarily step). The plan for tomorrow is to do part of Karen Voit's Overall and Abs section of her DVD
Picked up the trencher early today, now Vince is trying to figure out how to remove this one chain so he can get it off the trailer
Trenching done, some of the piping in. Hope to get the rest of the piping in since they're calling for rain. Unfortunately, we had trouble with one ratchet so we were a bit late returning the trencher so instead of being charge for 4 hours, we were charged for 1 day. It's interesting....they also include the time they inspect it in those 4 hours. Like instead of 11:45, we got it there at 12. By the time they inspected it, we got it parked, it was 12:30 so we were charge for the entire day. Guess that's Home Depot for you.
Heather - I'm so glad you told your sons. See, the oldest really did have an inkling. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the youngest does, too. (((HUG))) Update: so happy DIL is agreeable
Lodi - welcome! I like mixing up my exercise. I do a lot of DVD's. One problem is that all instructors call things different. But the good side is that your muscles are constantly being challenged, you don't use the same muscles over and over
Lynn - welcome! Hey pip -- she needs your boot!!!!!
katla - I THINK the Foodmap diet has something to do with IBS.
We just returned the trencher, had some lunch, will go back out and finish putting the pipe in. May even fill in one of the pipes Update: got the corrugated pipe in. Need to get a piece of PVC to put at the end (why I don't know, I know that Vince wants it). Got the pipe covered. Now to let the dirt settle some
Okie - that's wonderful! You'll do it, that's for sure
Supposed to usher at the Green Room for Blue. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. The author is supposed to be here after the show and I believe a few of the survivors are supposed to be there. Update: the show was awesome. Can't wait until we go as attendees on the 14th. Our seats are very close. As an usher you sit in the back, but being up front to me allows you to see the actor's expressions and I suspect some of the expressions will be worth a million dollars.
Terry in VT - hope you get off some of the meds. Ringworm??????
Evelyn - I was thinking that fewer and fewer people are using Facebook. A lot of the posts there seem to be pictures with sayings. I'm more interested in people themselves.

Heather: It is such good news that your DDIL is supportive of sharing your story with your younger son. Your older son responded extremely well as far as I could tell. Yay! This work will help your family, but I see the book as having importance for many other people out there, too, both individual victims and families.
Felicia: I'm happy that your DH has stepped up in a positive & supportive way to help with your son. Yay! Thank you for all your good information of FOD Map & gluten. We're in a learning curve now, and DH made a poor choice today so he isn't feeling the best. Some of life is trial and error. :ohwell:
Michele: Before DH went to the doctor he was eating very poorly and feeling worse by the day. The new diet is amazingly positive for him, although he messed up a bit today. I hope he'll stick with it the new way of eating and not slide back into old bad habits. :flowerforyou:
I have noticed that MFP hasn't been retuning me to my last post when I come back in a day later. This is new and unwelcome from my pov. I hope they're able to fix it.

Hi Sisters, I spent most of today horsing around. My student came and we gave Lady her first ride. She is such a cuddly filly and loves attention. Someone asked me if my DH noticed the cuts on Lady's face, but he didn't because I put a white zinc based wound cream on them and they weren't noticable. Here are some pics from today:

Hi Ladies, my goals for April is to continue to eat as many of my calories as I can which is hard for me but working on a consistent 1000 to 1300 calories each day and plenty of exercise. Then of course spring cleaning this big Victorian and yard work, plenty of yard work... all in between work
Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life. ― Tony Robbins So whatever your fitness goals (weight loss for me) keep them in your mind consistently and we will get there! Hope everyone has a good Saturday.4 -
Lisa, so happy that your sil got home in one piece. Hoping that things go well for your daughter as well. How is her ankle holding up?
Evelyn, Vancouver Island
Not a clue, Evelyn - she's not going to address it, and we're not bringing it up anymore. She got hammered on by enough people about it, it's her choice now. Grown children are... more frustrating than the three-year-old, who can be made happy by a ride in the car.
Speaking of which, that's what I was doing last night, as she was devastated (the silent tears kind of devastated, so I knew it was real) by her parent's nipping out for a night to themselves. She woke up from a nap and they were gone, and she was most unhappy. We sent them off to get to know each other again after six months apart. They've invited people over tonight, and our grandson is back tomorrow, and our DD is back to work on Monday. A ride in the car brightened the little one right up, as it's her favorite thing.
We packed up the panel trailer yesterday, as it's supposed to rain all day today. It was the first time we'd looked in the trailer since we got here five months ago, and we were relieved to find everything dry and in great shape. We only unpacked what we needed while here, and what we didn't want freezing and frying in outdoor temps (like my acrylic paints), so it was a relief to make sure the love seat, etc., was in good shape. What we have kept upstairs to get us through this next week will easily pack in either the pickup (with a camper shell on it) or in my little SUV. And Corey can handle the trips up and down the stairs with what's left without my help on Thursday while I'm working. All we'll have to load Friday morning is a suitcase or two, and we're out of here as early as I can get him moving.
Still not sure how we ended up with three TVs--oh, right, the one from the travel trailer.
Anyway - squirrel! - the rebound weight from traveling is all gone, and I'm literally 4/10 of a pound from One-der-land... but I took measurements day before yesterday, and have dropped 15 inches - including three from my waist, three from my chest, so life is good. I recommend highly taking measurements--and because I did after my gastric bypass for the first full year, I can even tell how close I am to where I was 12 years ago. Oddly enough, other than my calves and my thighs, I'm actually smaller than I was in April 2006 in every measurement, even though I'm eight pounds heavier right now than I was nine months after the surgery. Not a clue why! But I'm OK with it.
Welcome to all the new ones - be sure to sign your posts with the name you want to be called, and a location so we can keep everyone sorted out in our heads. Comment or commiserate with those you choose, but you don't have to try to comment on everyone's posts, it will be too much. There's a grey star at the top of the screen where you can bookmark the thread... and we start clean again each month. Glad you're here!
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC - for six days and a wake-up! This time next week, we'll be waking up in Tupelo, Mississippi, on our way to Arkansas...7 -
The Oxfam man came and loaded up 9 big boxes of books into his hatchback! I asked him to come back next Saturday for a whole lot more.
The woman who wanted our large suitcase hasn't turned up. I got the impression from her email that she wasn't very reliable, but she may still show.
I've sorted out more clothes for the dump and some jewellery for the charity shop. Slowly, but surely.
My younger son went out to dinner with my DDIL and she explained what was in the letter. He didn't want to read it then, but told her he would read it soon. Life is a bit of a struggle for him at the moment, so I absolutely understand. He has always been very sensitive to my feelings. In his first year at university he came home every weekend because he was worried about me. I only realised that fairly recently when my ex told me. I thought he missed his friends.
Must now start putting the memoir on to Createspace. I'm sure there are errors, but I hope it's 'good enough' and minor misspellings etc won't put people off. I am so not a book designer!

Good morning! Just want to say, there are a lot of posts I want to "Woooooo!" about and I really wish they had something more emotional than a "like" or a "hug". Something like this:
Have a wonderful day all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)8 -
Heather I am so glad for you that you persevered with getting that information to your sons. As someone else here said, Well Done!
Lisa I'm guessing there will be more silent tears when you & Grandpa leave...
Wendy What a sweet horse! I am so glad you have her.
Katla You probably already have Sue Shepherd and Peter Gibson's "Low-FODMAP Diet" book. If not, it may be helpful. You can get it on Amazon. As you have undoubtedly discovered, there is a steep learning curve for this diet. You can eat broccoli but not cauliflower. You can eat an orange but not an apple. It's not at all instinctive. FODMAP stands for "Fermentable Oligo, Di, Mono-saccharides and Polyols"
BEANO really helps some people who have a problem with fermentable short chain carbs. One Beano with the first bite of each meal. It has an enzyme in it that is helpful. It's especially useful for the adjustment period while people are still learning what to eat. I am glad your husband is feeling better on this diet.

Good Morning my lovelies
damp overcast and dreary this morning, our weather here on the east coast hasn't been the best..
getting out at 11 today as I am going to my dear friends 75th Birthday Party.. what you dont know is it is Toms first wife lol, her family are very dear to me ,and we share (for me) step granddaughters
should be fun, will stop here quick and get Alfie out for a quick walk
Dad God Bless him one thing I found at his house is tons of cards, christmas birthday etc, so I am all set for years and years and not having to buy cards..
finishing up my tea and off to work..7 -
Allie - I too used Dads cards (and stamps) for years after he died. I have an Uncle who passed two years ago and I just finished off the Advil I kept when we cleaned out his house (he didn’t have children). He had just stocked up, so the expiration dates were plenty long.
Have fun at the party!

Lisa, you must be so excited to finally be days away from getting on with your own life. What might help the little ones is a book read by grandma after she leaves. You can get children’s books where you can record you reading it then the child pages through while listening to you read it to them. Should be able to find one in most bookstores.
Heather, so happy your youngest finally knows about the book. He’ll know when the time is right to read the letter and he will have DIL there for support. I think when he reads it he will realize how strong you are and how strong he can be.
Lenora, no I don’t have a garden and if I did it would be under snow. Lol So that isn’t where I got the ringworm. It’s so weird. I just thought it was eczema. Was so surprised. Hopefully this cream will do the trick and clear it up soon as it itches like crazy.
Last night DH and I went out to a favorite Chinese restaurant to celebrate the house being paid off. Today I think I’ll spring clean the kitchen a little. I really have to get the refrigerator cleaned out and underneath it is probably pretty bad too.
Have a good day ladies!

Good beeeeutiful Spring morning here in OKC. Snow, freezing rain (which in case you don't know causes ICE on the roads). Semitruck and horse trailer crashed resulting in a horse running around on the ice along with diesel fuel from said truck AND ..wait fot it..........an earthquake rattled us out of bed!!! Happy Spring morning to you too. Gotta love it

Lisa: Your measurements reveal a more streamlined body. Muscle takes up less space than fat but is denser and weighs more per square inch.
Karen in VA: Thank you for the "Low-FODMAP Diet" book suggestion. We don't already own this book and I don't know whether DH's doctor mentioned it. We have printed a "book/app" that the doctor recommended. It was downloaded from the internet and I have a print in a binder in the kitchen. I'll tell DH about it and see. He also has the app on his ipad, which pretty much goes everywhere with him, and I put it on my phone. I prefer reading a paper copy, which is why I printed it. I told him about the beano. We have tablets at home already because of my digestive quirks. Now we'll have a bottle in each car, too. We already have lactaid in each car because of my lactose intolerance.
We had a high wind warning last night because of a storm out at sea that was supposed to hit CA, OR, WA & BC as it headed northward up the coast. I don't see any damage outside today so maybe it wasn't as bad as they feared, or perhaps we just got lucky. I haven't seen weather news yet today.

Janet ~ What a morning you have had.
Carol in GA3 -
Michelle - Most places charge by the 1/2 day (or 4 hours); Louis has to rent some equipment from Bob White Rentals and I know they charge a full day even if he only goes over an hour. When that occurs, he might take it to another job where he can use it, too. But, if he keeps it a full day; they don't charge extra if he ends up bringing it back earlier the next morning. But, there again, he has been dealing with them for 30+ years.
Lisa - Grown children are difficult; because they don't like any type of 'criticism' even if it is 'positive' or meant to be. Sometimes they would be better off not mentioning what they are going through and dealing with it themselves. That is called maturing. Since DDnL#2 and DYS lost their baby; I am not about to ask if they are going to go through the process of IVF again. DDnL#2 vented to me that DYS had said they'd be 'in a house' within their 3rd year of marriage - so far that hasn't happened; but there again they will only have been married 3 years by May. Which is really the beginning of their 3rd year. She was upset that he did not even want to go look at a 3 acre piece of land they could build in since finding a house or land on the water doesn't look like it is going to be too expensive. But, one house they have looked at on the lake is owned by someone DDnL#2 knows and they have said they were going to put it on the market in a couple of years. DYS has never had a 'mortgage' and told her he'd rather pay cash for a house. I think this is totally impossible and I told her that; but, she did not want me to say anything or even mentioned that we had talked about a house. So I will and have respected that, well, until now - but y'all don't know them and they are not near being 50. I can understand why she wants a house because the one she is in is only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath - and the door can be unlocked from either side and she does not like to be 'walked in on while taking a bath'. I can understand that, our 1/2 bath toilet has a crack in the tank and leaks if we flush it. DH just has not wanted to do the work of moving the one we have in the MBR to the 1/2 bath and buying a new one, which I want to be a bit higher. Sometimes you just have to listen and nod or roll your head and keep your opinion quite.
Dana - I'm sorry to hear y'all are still getting rain, we are on the edge of either getting light rain or moderate rain. I wonder how DYS and DDnL#2 are doing if the Mississippi River is rising. I hope they don't have to move their stuff out of the house. It's only 5 blocks from the river; but, there are 2 levees between it and the river. I think she said they have to start if it is 62' or above that.
Whichever one of you 'quoted' the Tony Robbin 'quote' probably knows that he is talking about 'generational' sins. Things we do because our parents and/or grandparents have always done the same and our children or grandchildren will probably continue doing it as well. Admitting them and locking them out of our lives and forgiving them is something we need to try to do.
DH hasn't done anything to finish up the glassed-in porch either. Found a beautiful piece of upholstery and can't decide if I want to buy a sofa bed and have it recovered in this material. I know I don't want to have a sofa of any type that is a solid color; I've got 2 leather chairs, and 3 others in the room that have 'texture'. Plus a leather ottoman that DH and I share.
About the watch a movie ... so I am checking out,
Lenora3 -
Mortgage vs. Ownership: I love not having a house payment. I can actually save money every month. We tried investing with Edward Jones for a few years and lost everything we put in. So, I just save!
Machka: Continued good wishes for your husband's total healing.
Lenora: I went to Classmates.Com and was able to see a copy of the 1966 Empescope of which I know your sister helped put together. I do not have a copy of the yearbook and imagine one of my siblings got it. Anyway, I found you in the Freshmen Class. You looked like a very young pretty girl.
I have gained 4 lbs over what I just try to maintain and can't get rid of them. Yes, at what I maintain I am still obese but don't want to get even more so. Just have to get more will power and cut down on the wine.

getting older is not fun- as you put years behind you, you experience both bad and good and sometimes it seems bad outnumbers good. But friends, family, sense of humor and always looking forward has gotten me through!4

Ok I am home, that ginger and lemon tea did the trick and had a wonderful time at Sharons birthday... she was suprised and had a lovely time... home with Mr Alfie and going to just chill out the rest of the day..5

My goal is to lose 10 lbs a month, and I think I've been over-doing it. I've logged in for 58 days straight and lost 22 lbs. This morning, though, with no change in caloric intake or activity levels, I've gained 4 lbs??? I don't do the period thing, but I wonder if there's something else that can cause water weight gain or retention? Thoughts?3
