Teaching the intermediate line dance class today went well. We all had a good time. After class Jake took me to lunch at my favorite restaurant where I ordered my usual and brought half home for supper.
The fence is coming along well. It has three panels up and looks exactly as I imagined it.
Katla, how great that your hubby found a food plan that makes him feel better and is one that he'll stick to.

Pip: The effort you & Kirby put into fighting MS is awesome. We appreciate you SOOOO much! For those who don't already know, Pip and Kirby ride in an annual MS fundraiser on Whidbey Island. My husband is one of the many people who have MS, and we can't thank Pip, Kirby and all the other riders enough. Their annual ride helps support MS sufferers by raising money to work toward better treatments for the disease. It also makes the public aware of the disease.
We spent the day hanging fuchsia plants and getting our drip irrigation system up and running. The sun was out and we had a good time working around the yard.

Just a quick blurb before I head out the door. GUESS who called me last night?! The "No" mama! lol She is currently living with her father (who is helping take care of active 1 1/2 yr old); she told him about the fact that I use the word "No" and her father told her that she needs to call me and take the spot! lol His words: "She sounds old school! He needs that! You could have a whole different kid after a couple months!" So...she called and asked if she could bring him 3 or 4 weeknights (5pm-10:30pm) and one day (6:30am-4:30pm) on the weekend. That works. For now, that will still give me one full day off on the weekend and two to three evenings off during the week. Yea! Now...off to Joaquin with a lighter heart/mind! ttfn KJ11
-
KJ - I'm glad you are getting filled up so your mind will be more at ease about finances. I am really glad that (so far) you will still get a day off, not that you won't be super busy that day, but at least you won't have the responsibility of keeping young 'uns alive that day! Have a great time with Joaquin. Can't wait to see pics.
Machka - You continue to be in my prayers as does your hub. You seem to be handling this horrible situation with grace and courage. Know that even though I don't always remember to say it, you are always in my prayers.
Barbie - Glad the class went well and that the fence is to your liking.
Kylia - Yeah for you cooking at home more. That's great.
Lanette - Can you send me the obesity soap when you are done with it? Maybe it will shrink up some of my wrinkly loose skin. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the loose skin over the fat, but heck, if I can wash it away, why not?!
Rebecca - It is so great to see you excited about food and what you are going to make! Give yourselves time to settle in and make friends or even friendly acquaintances. You'll get there. Congrats on getting another bead!
Dana - Love the pic of Dolly!
As for me, I am in the middle of a project for work that was supposed to be finished over the next few months by working an extra 4 hours a week (not a big deal, I only work 2 days a week). Now it needs to be finished next week so I had to get approval to work whatever time I need to to finish. I think I can get it done without a big problem, but I certainly hadn't planned to devote so much time to my desk for the next 10 days. I told my boss I won't be working on it at all this weekend because hubs is home for the first time in a month this weekend.
I have had a headache for several days, just low level, the kind that is a just enough that you know it is there. It was much worse yesterday afternoon so I didn't accomplish anything but rest yesterday afternoon (I had already gotten in my walk and a trip to the grocery store). I know I get headaches when the weather changes (add me to the weather front list Kylia), but I am starting to think that they are hormonal also. I have been tracking them and I seem to get one each month at my TOM.
As for my weight, it is up a little this morning so I am back at the bottom of my maintenance range. While that is good, my CICO doesn't account for it being up. I'm going with my TOM and headache having me retaining a bit of water. If I can only eat the cals I have been eating this week to maintain it's going to be a bummer for me. Doable, but a bummer.
One of the neighbors is having a crawfish boil on Saturday so there will be lots of yummy treats. I don't like to peel the crawfish, so I'll eat a couple that the hub peels for me and then eat salad, veggies and other treats that people bring. I found some turkey pepperoni and some swiss cheese that need used up in the next week so I will take them along with the salad and veggies I was already taking. Heck, maybe I'll cut some turkey pepperoni up in the salads too. I found two packages, and there is no way I will get them eaten before they expire so its either take them as snacks for the party or feed them to the deer. If I'm REALLY lucky, someone will bring rice krispy treats and I'll have a big one of those!
Have a great day everyone. Hugs to those that need them, congrats to those with accomplishments and prayers for those in need.

Rebecca, When we moved to where we are now, it took a long time to make friends and feel comfortable about being part of the community. Do not be discouraged. Just keep showing up and acting interested and the change will happen.
KJ How nice that your teaching methods were affirmed and you have another new student to tell "No". You are an awesome teacher.
Okie, You've got a lot on your plate right now. Don't let the scale bug you. My weight fluctuates a bit and I just keep doing the right things and it settles down. Sorry to hear about your headaches.
Today I teach my regular beginner line dance class. It will feel relaxing compared to the intermediate class yesterday.

I have been waking up with sore places lately, partly because I've been lifting fuchsia pots above my head to hang them. They all survived the winter, with one exception. We've had a hardy fuchsia planted under our kitchen window for years. This year it doesn't seem to be coming up. It doesn't make sense that tropical fuchsia's in pots would do better than a hardy fuchsia in the ground. We tuck the potted tropical fuchsias under our rhododendrons for the winter each year and they've survived nicely there, even when we've had snow and freezing temperatures. Advice wanted!
Happy Friday! :flowerforyou:

Hi all,
I've been spending the morning writing an article for The Survivors Trust about how I got up the courage to tell my sons. Hope they like it. Got to copy it out in a Word document this pm.
DH only got an hour of watching cricket in. Now it is pouring with rain. Shame, because the ex captain of England is in the other team.
Had a good night's sleep and the antibiotics seem to be winning at last. Not quite through the woods yet.
KJ - you are an amazing woman. Respect.
Must pack up a few more books this pm.
On the house front, the no sell deal with our buyer's has fallen by the wayside after a very heated exchange through the agents where they wanted us to drop the price by £10,000 . I felt as if they were taking us for idiots and that was their intention all along. My valiant DH rang the agents and told him what he thought of the whole thing, plus the stupid English home buying system, and we received an apology by email. He may come over next week to talk. The buyer's house is back on the market and they have viewings. Haven't heard much from our vendors.
I started to cry down in Hove and got a cuddle from my son. Edie asked "Why is granny crying?" Difficult to explain. I was beside myself with rage for a few minutes.
So, better today. Nothing we can do. Let it go. Thank you to Lanette.
I have a roof over my head.
The babysitting was hectic and exhausting. Both parents dashing off to London, working every second, knackered. We were sooooooo tired, but DH kept it together when I needed a nap for my cystitis. He is a hero. At the last minute I had to produce dinner for 5 when I wasn't expecting to, but we all got fed with hardly any food in the fridge. We had to buy bread etc, because everything had run out. I haven't had a vegetable or salad for two days. Parenthood ! ! !
Glad to be back in the old routine.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx7 -

Your welcome katla here’s an old pic of us after a training ride. September is coming b4 u know it7 -
Heather so sorry about your deal falling through. Here in the states it is the opposite. If someone wants to buy your home they put down earnest money non refundable. If the buyer walks away the seller keeps it. Once a price is agreed on unless there is an inspection that puts things into question the price stands. I don't understand how the buyers could change their offer like that. It creates the situation you are in now and makes it difficult for the party who was selling you their home.
There is something like a contingent offer here. I will buy your home contingent I sell mine. There are often a less desirable offer and the person making an offer on the next property often has to make it worth the sellers while to take such an offer.
Prayers that your buyers gets a dose of conscience and come through for you.

Katla You have way more expertise with fuchsia than I have. I dearly love fuchsia, it is one of my favorites, but it doesn't do well under my care. Perhaps Kim in Northern California could advise you?
Barbie I am willing to bet you were quite competent teaching that intermediate class. Line dancing is so very fun, but I don't have a lot of experience. I can two-step a little, and once upon a time I did a passable Carolina Shag, but I don't dance anymore except in Jazzercise.
Pip That is a really nice photo of you and Kirby.
Karen in Virginia headed back to work today6 -
Made it through pg 77. Might have some time later but doubtful
I am procrastinating about a shower because as soon as I have one then I will be ready to go to the lawyer. I really don't want to do this but think I have to make sure I protect myself. This is not a good way to live.
Yesterday I took Jason to the ER. He blacked out the day before driving on the highway. SHE didn't think it was important to let anyone know because he told her not to? What the actual H? She can't drive here because of reasons that are too dumb to get into here. He took yesterday off and then texted his sister in the early afternoon to take him to a walk in. He told the doctor this was happening a couple times a week. License suspended, blood work, CT, and scheduled for an EEG on Tues afternoon. Off work on medical until they find out what this is and if it can be resolved. He told Doc that his brain has not been right since he was in the coma for 2 weeks after his accident. He has told me before that he thinks something happened to his brain in that accident in 1997. SHE didn't come with us to the ER and didn't even keep in touch to see what was happening. Jheri went in the house to get her brother and SHE kept trying to talk to Jheri about redoing her resume. Jheri's opinion is that HER priorities are screwed up and that SHE is batshit crazy. Lucky my little spitfire didn't rip HER to shreds.
Better go, can't stall any longer.
I hope I can pop in through the weekend. Looks like being Grandma Taxi just got extended.

Lanette, the only thing harder than quitting smoking... is living with someone who is quitting smoking ;} ((hugs)))
Rebecca wonder what the La parle obesity soap directions were? Maybe to eat it?
Rye Congratulations on the first and tiniest of many royalty checks to be!
Sue in WA must have missed it, how did your DD come to be in Ireland?
KJ so glad the No mama has a wise papa, it could be the saving of that little terror. . . no pressure
Heather "haven't had a vegetable or salad for two days" The price you fairy grandmothers pay... :noway:
Ditto Margaret's prayers Heather's buyers get a conscience and make good on their original offer. Pfaugh.
Machka ditto whoever said you and your DH are in our prayers even when we don't say so.
Barbie relaxing by teaching beginners class made me smile!
Welcome HeidiH!
Uh oh, no time to meditate or break fast, dashing to T'ai Chi.
Enjoy the day, lovelies!

I don't have any advice -- my hearty fuchsia is greening up nicely.
But I do have a question -- I didn't prune the hearty fuchsia back last season, so it is getting unmanageable. I assume you did prune yours back. When did you prune it and how much did you prune it? I need to make this plant look better next year, or my husband will make me get rid of it, and I LOVE fuchsias.

Finished my article and sent it off to the charity. Hope they like it.
Then we filled four more big boxes of books for Oxfam. That makes 19 so far!
Put the roast chicken on and added LOADS of veggies to the roasting pan, plus sliced some green beans. Hooray!
The buyer's have reduced the price of their house and have had an offer, though not quite enough to proceed. They have more viewings this weekend so one might bid a bit more. They are also pursuing a mortgage so they don't have to sell. They are obviously trying hard, so there is a glimmer of light. Their house is very competitively priced.
Katla - My fuchsia seems to have died too. It is a standard one in a pot. Amazing last year - I think I posted a pic.
Thinking of my son at the big Brighton drinks festival he has organised.
Sharon - Well done on the lawyer! I think of you and Alison every time I play the song "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson on my runs.
Lots of love, Heather UK xxxxxxx3 -

Pip: You and Kirby look happy together in the photo you shared, and absolutely fit and ready to go.
Margaret & Heather: Your comments to Heather match my thoughts very well. :grumble: I also pray that Heather's buyers come through for her.
Karen in VA: I have great luck with fuchsias because they are on a north facing wall and have shade in the hot part of the day. I also have an automatic drip watering system so that they are watered every morning and evening, whether we are at home or travelling.
(((Sharon in Lethbridge))) You are an awesome, strong and resilient person. I am totally impressed with how well you are handling a difficult situation. :flowerforyou:
Felicia & Karen: I didn't prune my tropical fuchsias at the end of the season, and they are thriving. I did prune my hardy fuchsia but left the stems about 10 inches high. I just took another look at the hardy fuchsia and see little green leaves starting to grow on those stems. It is ALIVE!!!
Heather: I hope that your son will do well at the Brighton Beer Festival. Sending good thoughts his way.
I just received a thank you note from my granddaughter for a gift we sent for her birthday. This is the first written note she has ever sent to me. I asked her mom to help her give it a try. I'm absolutely thrilled. I'm planning to send a note back to her ASAP. It seems to me that letter writing is a fine art that is falling away due to the internet and phone calls. I hope to make it a special "thing" between my granddaughter and me.

Well, we’re back. Wednesday I used the stairstepper at the Y in Reston then Thurs I did some HIIT at the hotel. Today I took the water class and the plan for tomorrow is to do Gunner Peterson’s Core Secrets DVD.
We fully thought that when we go to VA we would get the truck and everything would be boxed up and ready to load. WRONG They were still deciding which furniture, etc. that Colby would keep and Jess would put in storage. We had to wait for Colby to come back from work (at 7) to determine if he would keep the sofa. Which meant that we could only pack some of the truck until we knew if we needed to keep room aside for the sofa. Wednesday we didn’t finish loading until midnight.
We thought we could leave early Thurs and get to Newton in time to get the storage unit. WRONG Jess had things that she’d packed the night before that we had to load into her car, my car, some in the truck.
Lucky us got to unload the truck in the rain. Well, the storage place has an overhang, so that was good. At least it wasn’t pouring rain while we were loading. Sometimes it would sprinkle.
I tell you, my legs are hurting! I can’t even count how many times I went up and down those stairs.
Colby admitted to Jess that he was in denial that this was going to happen and he apologized to her. He said something Tues like “well, I guess we could go down Fri”. Vince almost blew a gasket! He said “this is something you’ve known about for months and now you’re wanting to put it off for another day?”
Rye – I didn’t go to my prom. I went out with some friends who meant something to me. Sorry, hardware stores don’t “do it” for me.
Margaret – what a great way to look at your son being in your home for Christmas. Denise many times is rude to me, but that’s a good way to look at it
Heather – was reading your book in VA. Very compelling. I agree, I can’t get over how many things from our childhood we shared.
Terry in VT – I certainly will post a pic of the board when I get it back. Hope your hubby can give me some ideas, that would be great. Loved your earrings
Jess went to the DMV since she needs to register her car in NC and get a NC license. Only they told her that the computers have been down since 1:00 yesterday and they have no idea when they’ll be back up. Looks like it won’t get registered until she comes back. Well, the important thing is that she has insurance and she just renewed her registration.
I cancelled Jess' membership at the Y in Reston. It was on my MasterCard. I just told them that she was out of the country. If I hadn't, they probably would have wanted her to come in and cancel it. They wouldn't email a cancellation for to her
My sinuses sometimes started to act up, but not real bad. It was just the change in temperature. Once I adjusted to the new temperature, all was fine. I did bring some decongestant with me, just in case.
Dana – I’m so sorry to hear about Lisa. I remember seeing that hospital. It’s almost across the street from the NIH. Stunning pic
pip - Great wooden bike
Janetr – congrats
Holly – welcome! Sounds like you found a good place here
Believe it or not, up in VA I actually found some daffodil bulbs and got about 7 of them. Who knows what’ll happen, but I will plant them and see
Rori – have a great trip
Kris from CA – welcome
KJ – I completely understand why that little boy didn’t want to leave you. I wouldn’t either Never said “no” to? Wonder if that mother will ever be able to find child care. It’s probably a good thing you won’t see him again. If you did, talk about the headaches! Have a good time at ND and with Joaquin. Update: Wow, that woman called you back! Glad she’s taking her father’s advice, but it’ll probably be a bit more work for you.
Rebecca (I think you’ll always be Becca to me) – awesome you added another bead. Congrats to every loser. And if you’re like me who hasn’t lost, at least we didn’t gain!
Colby just came down. He’s planning to go to the airport with us tomorrow. He and Jess are going to the movies tonight and Vince and I are going to a play
Hey, I can use that obesity soap, too.
Welcome anyone new that I may have missed
Maria – welcome
Made pork chops for us to have later in the week. After exercise stopped at WalMart to get the pork chops then rushed home to hopefully help Vince return the truck. Only he and Jess had left by the time I got home

Michele ~ Are Colby and Jess a pair. You may have explained before but I can't remember.
Went to a huge upscale shopping area with college girlfriends today and ate at a somewhat fancy restaurant. I would never have found the place and the traffic was terrible as there were turns and twists throughout the shopping center and nothing but 4 way stop signs to help traffic move. But, it was fun seeing my long time friends and I was happy to have gone. Kay from GA ~ You have probably been there or heard of it. It is called Avalon and is in the Alpharetta vicinity.

afternoon ladies~
got a little bit of a nap in.. my office manager texted me and wanted me to work friday, I had already planned on going up to Maine on Friday, but she wanted me to work, Mary will work on her own on Friday afternoon, but knowing her she will be nasty to me the rest of the week... because I have plans, and she is a smother, meaning she has one son that is graduating in June and she is just to involved in his life and smothers him, I am sure he can't wait until he goes off to college.
today was a knock around day.. ,will go to the movie tonight..3
