Well had an appointment this morning. Being that my calcium is high, my vitamin D is low, the doctor wants my parathyroid scanned and the parathyroids that are overactive to be removed. I guess it's a simple surgery. I am also getting scheduled for a colonoscopy. Some of the symptoms of hiperparathyroidism is that your joints ache, you are more often, tired, foggy brained. Pretty much a lot of what I feel!
So the doctor was happy I'm taking vitamin D tablets, but she wants me on a ketone type diet. Drink more water, and take in less sugar.
My brain is tired, my stomach hurts (from eating too much yesterday most likely), and processing good leads me to the bathroom. This day is getting better and better!

Ok so I only watched about 1/2 of Justin..made up the bed,one thing I have learned save money and don't ever buy cheap bed linens, not worth it.

I approve of this statement. For that reason, my hubby and I have one set of sheets. Wash, dry, and immediately put them back on. He thinks I'm a sheet snob. I say, AMEN!

KJ - I agree with the person who said you could be his mum! :D What a smiler!

Really cold today here, so DH didn't go to the cricket. That is a big deal. :o His friend has gone home as well.
I did 200 bonus calories on the recumbent bike.
I've booked lunch at the local pub with my friend that I had to postpone yesterday. It's next Monday, which is a Bank Holiday over here. The day before is DH and my 15th meeting anniversary. :D:o:o:o:o:o:o Can't believe it has been so long. <3
He is buying me a new fleece jacket to take to the far north of Sweden on our cruise and I have got him a new Under Armour vest top for his exercising. Plus posh biscuits and chocolate truffles. I've ordered the North Face jacket in large, but I may have to exchange it for a medium. I want to be able to put layers underneath it and it is very slim cut. Marine blue. I am slim, but have a wide back. I hate having to send things back, but it's free.
We haven't decided what to do for the day.

Haven't heard anything new on the buyer's situation. :s:|

Finally sleepy so time to sign off and snooze a few hours. Tomorrow will make bi-monthly trek to Trader Joe's in Medford, a 3+ hr drive but worth it for the things I can't get here.

Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.

Yep. One of the best things about moving here is that there is a Trader Joe's about 30 minutes from our house and 10 minutes from my work. I try to go at least once a month. The last time I was there, I bought a seasoning called "Everything but the bagel." It's the toppings from an everything bagel. I also bought gluten free bagels, which are generally nasty, and some cream cheese, and for the next week, I had half a bagel with cream cheese and the spice, liberally sprinkled, and it almost felt like I was eating a yummy everything bagel. The boys love their island salsa.

    Enjoy your shopping trip!

    Good day.
And he was a bit chatty this morning (still mostly random phrases), so I asked him his name, and he kind of almost said it.

The nurse was standing there, and said to him, "OK, who is she? Introduce us" (and he pointed at me).

My husband did a "This is" gesture with his hand and said, "She's my .... (and then he fought with it for a moment) ... my wife!"

    Yes!!

This brought tears to my eyes! This is so encouraging!

Machka - I got goosebumps reading about your DH! He must have sensed we were talking about him and sending him "good vibes". HUGS all around!! <3B)

Terry - SNOW! Is this normal? We are so warm here I might be planting tomatoes and squash in a couple weeks. Normally wait until June 1st.

Heather - a new fleece jacket sounds great! Wow, won't be long you'll be on your trip. I've started watching "Wallendar" and was surprised that everyone in Sweden has a British accent, lol. ;) Nevertheless, I like the series! Kenneth Branagh is one of my favorite actors. <3

Rebecca - hope the parathyroid scan shows something that is easily correctable. Sounds like you have a thorough doctor to check this stuff out. (((HUGS))))

Rita - are there any gals at the resort/park where you are right now that would want to walk with you? Give you a break from your DH and dogs? I think my family is much like yours - not much time or inclination to connect. We have to make our own "families". And how lucky we are to have this group of sisters!

When I went for my walk this morning, I realized there are a total of 6 "older" retired gals (like me) who live at the end of our private road. One has bad knees but rides a bike from time to time. Other than her and me, no one else gets out and walks, but have talked with me about it. It's just walking, no running. Maybe once the weather gets nice some of them will get rousted at the crack of dawn and join me.

Felicia and Barbara - I get to do my Trader Joes' run this Wednesday. It's about 30 minutes away. I take my cooler and load up. They carry Ezekial bread which isn't GF but delicious sprouted grains. Half the price there than it is here in our little town at the health food store. And then it's in the freezer section. TJ's canned sockeye salmon is the cheapest I've found anywhere and really good- I like it with the bones and skin. Trying to get back in the habit of eating a can per week.

    KJ Kelly
    - loved the photos! Sounds like it was a wonderful weekend (Joaquin fix, how could it not be??) How neat you came home to more prospective kids!

Meg - your DD#2 and BF sound like real sweeties. So sorry to hear about DD#1.

Oh Betsy - what is it with these guys and their grumpies. I wonder what's going on in their heads - seems like the trigger is something that has nothing to do with what they lash out about. I finally got my fill and now call my DH on it every time. So he does it less frequently. It's like with the puppy, I have to be consistent. >:) Get miffed at myself that I didn't think of this 40 years ago. (((HUGS))). Alaska - are you involved in commercial fishing?

OK ladies, time to get crackin.

Barbie - thanks again for keeping is going!!! You are the BEST!

Lanette - Kenneth Branagh is my least favourite Wallander. Not anything like him. There are at least two Swedish versions that I know of that are much better. Have you read the books? They sre excellent. And, by the way, there is NO such thing as a British accent. :#:#:#:#:#

Rye My sleep goes better like so many things when I work on it. I did get 7 hours or uninterrupted sleep last night I am working to get 8. The room darkening drapes and keeping the room cool both have helped. Clean sheets tonight. Simple pleasure.

Rita in NM: The D3 doesn't give an instant response. Keep taking it regularly and see whether you think it is helping after a month or so. :flowerforyou:

Meg: DD#2 is a good daughter. Maybe DD#1 will grow up some day. I'm sorry she disappointed you.

Betsy: Sorry your DH is a pill. :grumble:

Rebecca: Thank goodness you are now able to focus on taking better care of your own health. This change in living situations is so good for you!!! It looks like you've found a good doctor. :star:

We went shopping and all the groceries are tucked in their right places. Now I'm casting an eye on our dreadful garage. A bunch of stuff is going to the storage unit if I have anything to say about it, AND a bit of it will be donated to the senior center thrift shop.

Heather - I was looking for another British detective series to watch on Netflix and came across Wallander. First time I'd heard of him - having been from a Swedish series explains why the actors are speaking English even though the setting is Sweden. Haven't read the books, but will look for them.

    Good day.

But long 12-hour day with 9.9 km of walking, university, meetings, work, and hospital.

    Very tired!

And why was it a good day?

My husband got his trach out! At long last!

And he was a bit chatty this morning (still mostly random phrases), so I asked him his name, and he kind of almost said it.

    Yes!!

But he didn't know my name. I guess if you're struggling with your own name, someone else's name might be a mystery too.

The trick will be whether or not he remembers all this tomorrow! But I'll take it for today.

Welcome Kay, so sorry about your grandson. Be kind to yourself as you continue to go through this grief, that no doubt you will carry with you the rest of your time on earth. I think of it as something you will have to learn to live with, because it's not something you want to forget. <3 Wendy

PS, next time you want to chat on here, you may need to scroll through the final posts to look for Barbie's link to the new thread. We get a new thread each month.
