With my diet I'm amazed at how much more volume of food I can eat if I eat according to my macros. Yesterday for example I had two 6 oz servings of meat 6 deviled eggs 6oz of vegetables and original hidden valley ranch dressing plus macadamia nuts. That was under 1200 calories. And very importantly I lost 1.2 pounds in the last 2 days! Healthy foods have less calories than my coke and donuts!

One of the things I've learned with the help of MFP and logging is how to get maximum food and nutrition for the fewest calories. The longer I do this, the more I crave food that is good for me and don't crave foods that are lots of calories with little or no nutrition. I also seek every opportunity to be active to burn more calories.

Never been nude in public, but I think I would like to try it once in my life. As long as I didn’t know anyone or would ever see them again. As life gets shorter I feel the push to do things I normally wouldn’t before I can’t anymore.
Down 3lbs so on my way back to onederland again! Can’t wait to get there. Thanks for all the help I get from my MFP family. You will never know how much easier this journey is because of you.

I do have a problem getting my protein in! Those Starkist pouches, white albacore, and pink salmon are great, and I like how it's flat so I can just lay it on stuff. Whether it's a 12 grain bread, or was a crisp bread, or on a salad, it's perfect.
My proteins are cottage cheese, all beans ( except black beans), and my meats are just condiments for a meal. An oz of kielbasa, or steak or chicken, but I just like it to flavor the rest of the meal. Eating a protein bar is helping me get my daily amounts. I got this!

Rebecca- you are doing fantastic! You have found something that works for you! I don't use protein bars or shakes because most have over my carb limit in just one serving. I try to keep my carbs at or below 20g. For protein I eat eggs and meats like you and I don't always hit the amount I'm supposed to. My focus for Keto is 75% fat 20% protein and 5% carbs.

Dana – when you talked about the level it reminded me of something Vince did. Now, I have to say he wasn’t obnoxious. But when they were putting in the fence around the pool, after the workers left he went and held a level to each and every post. To be honest, there were quite a few posts that weren’t level. But he made sure they leveled them (much to their dissatisfaction). What a wonderful thing you did for Rebecca

Penny – used to be that I wanted the whole cookie or biscuit, now I find that just ½ or even less of it satisfies me. And, oh, yes, I seem to crave veges and fruit (sorry, Mary, I know fruits are high in carbs, but I just can’t help myself). Even at breakfast! I find that I want less and less red meat
I don’t know how I feel about a nude beach. I guess I would be willing to try it. But I may not stay very long…lol
I like to keep those packets of salmon/tuna for down at the condo. Long shelf life and something that I don’t have to refrigerate, like if I opened a can of tuna and had just ½ of it

I have been consistent in many areas of my healthy routine (drinking water, logging food and exercise, walking a lot of steps, etc.) but for haven't been good at remembering to the do the plank I want to do every day. Today I tried to remember by putting it on my "to do" list and it worked. So I'll try that again tomorrow.3

Wow, those are some crazy macros! I have always just followed what mfp had for me preset up. So it's 50% carbs, 30% fats and 20% protein. I'm in a totally different world than you. In my defense, my carbs are a slice of 12 grain bread, wasa crisp bread, truvia sugar blend, Kashi waffles, minute rice wild rice cups, so not a lot of white things.

Major flooding. Travel not recommend. Yet the hospital wants me in there with my husband who is apparently all upset. So here I am travelling into the city ... by bus of course.

Lost another dear relative. My cousin. A great fun loving guy who never failed to make us laugh. Quick witted and charming. He surprised us and made us laugh one last time. He requested a special song be played at the end of his funeral: The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens.

Mary: I like my pie chart to be roughly thirds. Today it is 36% carbs, 25% protein, & 39% fat. Good enough, but I think about how neat it would be to have each at 33.3%. (I'm a theoretical fan of symmetry.) I might get there someday, but not today, and not likely very often. :ohwell:

I met two dear friends from my teaching days at Applebees for dinner tonight. It was so great to see them both & I hope we can do it again one of these days. The commute from home to the restaurant through rush hour traffic is NOT something I'd like to repeat, but I'd do it again to share a meal with them. I had Chicken Caesar Salad. Next time, I think I'll ask for them to put half in a to-go box and half on my plate. The trip home was easy.

Up early, but spent the time ordering a grocery delivery from a supermarket I rarely use, mainly to get a couple of trial bottles of a de-alcoholised wine that is highly recommended. Australian. I bought other things while I was there. I had obviously used the site many years ago when I still had my ex husband's name and my old London address. Very weird to see my old name. Got a nice free range chicken to roast on Sunday, with fennel, parsnips, carrots and onions.
Sunny today - a running day.
Sorry about the UTI Felicia. Having recently had one myself I sympathise.
Machka - (((HUGS))) I guess the agitation is a sign that things are starting to connect.
I emailed the cruise company yesterday about alcohol free drinks. All wines and alcohol is included, so I wanted to know what they were providing for AF drinkers. I may have to take my own.

Felicia oh so sorry UTI's are lousy. Keep drinking, drinking, drinking. Are you prone to them? they are the worst.
I'm driving 3 hours north today to another weekend Solofestival, DH asked if he could come along, but since I am working the whole time, I told him I didnt think so, I might have hurt his feelings. I am leaving early from work so I can actually visit an outlet center and look at some new clothes. Since I've been on a shopping ban for over a year, this is an interesting activity to get back to retail shopping. Couple of things I look for, variety of color, is it comfortable, easy to wash and is it flattering? Should be fun to browse and maybe buy something for a change.
I anticipate a lot of carbs being served at the festival so I'm packing oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and protein bars.

Felicia, and all UTI (cystitis) sufferers, I feel your pain. Well, I felt your pain. One of them put me in the hospital for eight days, as it was misdiagnosed as a kidney infection--the high-strength antibiotic they put me on killed all my gut bugs and I ended up with C-diff. After six more urinary tract infections in one year, my doc put me on a low-dose antibiotic that I take most days. Between heat and um, marital relations, I'm a magnet for the buggerty things. I still pay the price for it, not in money, but in a lecture from the last doctor on how to wipe my butt. I just asked her if, at the grand old age of 57, she didn't think I was pretty educated in the subject already. Do I worry about taking antibiotic, and if I'm growing bugs that will give me the galloping never-get-overs? Sure... but had to do something. Haven't had one now in six years or so.
Ginger - I think I would have loved your cousin. What a wonderful sign-off! I'm sorry for your loss.
My day off looms in front of me, free as a bird. What shall I do... not sure yet. But the DH's coffee is ready, his lunch is made, and he's off to work in about 45 minutes. Did I mention he got a job? I think I did, but can't remember. He's heading up the mechanical shop for a local landscaper. Today, he'll get his first full-week paycheck, so I can put a budget together. We're finding our routine now, and happy to do it.

Barbie- It's funny that you mentioned a "to-do" list for your planks; I actually just made a to-do list for planking and stretching earlier this week. I find I do better at getting things done if I have a list of things I need to do. I am hoping this mindset will keep me from forgetting to take care of myself. This week planking and stretching, next week I will add the kettle bell to those. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could hold a plank for a full minute, after not doing planks for so long. (There ARE muscles under that fat!)
I have a nephew's wedding tomorrow and then Sunday is Mother's Day and are spending it with my inlaws; so you won't hear much from me this weekend! Love and hugs to all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Terry - Yeah for down 3 lbs! I'm so very happy for you that the scale is moving in the downward direction again! Onederland, here she comes!!
Rebecca - Do you like greek yogurt? We might have discussed this before but I've forgotten if we have. Greek yogurt a couple of times a day as a dip for apple slices really helps me get in my protein.
Ginger - I am so sorry for your loss. Your cousin sounds like a lot of fun. I can just imagine everyones face when The Lion Sleeps Tonight came on.
SueBDew - Ugh! Cleaning up the patios from all the yellow pollen is the worst! I got everything done with the pressure washer last weekend. Now I just need to wipe down the wood furniture to get the pollen off of it and add a new layer of oil to it all. Thanks for reminding me that needs to happen today or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow while the hub is smoking the meat. Oh, and I need to wipe down the fire table since it will be dusty but will be our drink holder .

Nude in public - Nope, not gonna happen. Like Lisa - I have 34 long breasts (I love that description, thanks for that!). I have had saggy boobs since I got them. I went from practically flat chested to a large C cup in what seems like days in 9th grade. They sagged then, and they sag even more now that they have gone from a 40DDD to a 34C/D. If not for the extra skin under my arms, they would be a very comfortable 34C, with the extra skin, it depends on the bra. TMI? Sorry if it is.
Swimwear - I will wear a bikini if I am on vacation somewhere. My worst feature is the extra skin and cellulite on my legs and it shows no matter what swimwear I choose. If I am at the pool with my neighbors, a one piece would be my choice, although I normally just wear my street clothes when we hang out at someones pool. Not many of the adults get in anyway. When I lost weight before I would wear a two piece with my friends at our pool (the old house), but I had a lot less loose skin then too.
My weight was down over a lb this morning, which is kind of a good thing, kind of not. Good in that I can see that I do have room to increase my calories for maintenance. Not so good in that I am below the maintenance threshold I set for myself. The really not so good part is I kind of want to lose another 1/2 pound to get into a decade I haven't seen in well, decades. I never could make it down to it last time I lost weight (when I was 40). I don't want to stay in that decade, it is too thin for sure, but I would like to dip my toe in it to see that I could do it. I know it won't happen this weekend, but maybe by next Friday when I weigh in again if I have a "good" week.

Happy Friday! On the fitting in of macros, I have a difficult time getting my fats in. I know my mother would never believe that. I usually am over on my protein, and nearly on target with my carbs.
I'll be visiting Thailand in October and November, so I'd like to do maybe not a bikini, but a two piece--no need for a tankini anymore, and definitely won't go topless. Americans are more apt to be overweight which is why I'm probably not uncomfortable on my annual visit to the nude beach. As a sorta side funny note, I'm a member of a FB group called the 61'ers. We met on the old Weight Watchers messageboards and we were all born in 1961. We get together for an annual "Camp 61" so many of us have met irl. I also know the NJ'ers because we have "mini camps" where we meet for dinner or whatever. I found out last year one of the NJ 61'ers is a regular at that nude beach. I'd have been MORTIFIED for someone I knew to be there.
As far as carpenter bees--we have ones that I'm amazed can remain in flight. They look similar to what a pregnant woman would look like flying. Anyway, my guy bats them with a racketball racket. We simply cannot have so many of them flying around the deck because they scare Mandeebear my Yorkie. At least it's not poisoning them to death. We have even replaced the deck and rails thinking they'd find somewhere else to go, but they are back.
I am approaching more than two pounds below my Weight Watchers goal (I'm on maintenance there and will continue the meetings and weigh ins since I won't have to pay after my 6th maintenance week), but I've migrated to tracking calories, nutrients and macros here. I was stuck at WW for several months, but once tracking here, I started losing again. I do cardio and weight lifting most days, and have recently discovered how watching the macros affects my performance in both areas.
My gym has a cardio movie theater. Yesterday, I was on the elliptical and watched the first hour of White House Down. It was great. I skipped my morning Spin so I could run on the TM and catch the final hour of the movie today. It really does pay to be easily amused.
About the cousin who passed (and my condolences) and had The Lion Sleeps Tonight playing, that is totally awesome. Has me coming up with a playlist for my funeral...although at 56, hopefully I'm 100 years away from that.

Okie, I hope you won't stress about the numbers on the scale. It is unlikely that you will do damage to yourself if your weight drops lower than you want for a bit as you find your way to an eating plan for life that works for you. I got my weight down into the decade that was on my "bucket list" and then found its way back to a weight that was declared healthy by medical professionals. Now I have the memory of that very thin time which warms me like the memories of special vacations. Enjoy the experience.

Lenora we had carpenter bees a few years ago we tried to fill the holes before getting them removed. We were told not to do this they will just create more holes to get out. Once they area is treated and you know they are gone. Then it is time to fill the holes.
We did call a professional to get rid of them.2
