Happy Mother's Day to you all, whether your babies are people or critters, born from you or not. Rebecca is right, we are all nurturing others and that counts!
Too much to catch up on, have read all the posts, but no time to comment. Eating isn't bad, not great, but not bad. Wedding day is just under two weeks away, bride to be keeps changing the time of the rehearsal, I've already changed an app't once to accommodate the original time, fortunately the new time works without me changing anything again. Won't change anything again tho! Hope everyone has a lovely day! Weather here is amazing today!!

Walking is sooooooo good for my mood! Even though it is 94% and windy, the walk was wonderful! I needed that. I actually heard from my siblings today and my oldest daughter. Hope to hear from my son and youngest daughter. It is still early in the day though. I will call my Mom after I have lunch. She is two hours ahead of me in timezone so want to make sure she is home and done for the day when I call her.
Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely ladies! Whether you have two or four legged babies! LOL
Happy Birthday Penny!
ps... just updated my goal spreadsheet and found that I hit 97% of my goals last week and this past week hit 117%! WOOHOO! NSV for me! I've been so down lately, these little things have given me a real boost!

We went to my DnL's mothers for lunch today and had a great time chatting and watching the children play in the pool. Chicken salad on croissants and chocolate pie...Yum!

Mother’s Day Dinner ( for my MiL, BiL and DH). I’m cook.
Steak- NY strips, prime cuts (when you send husband to Costco without you he gets the expensive cuts you’d never approve!), Veggie primavera (carrots, broccoli, snow snap peas, and water chestnuts served in a delicious tomato sauce, fresh Parmesan for those inclined to add it), cheesy garlic homemade hash browns cooked in steak fat and juices from steak sear. Desert is a fruit sorbet. (Take frozen blueberries, mango, strawberries, pineapple and peaches, combine with sangria or diet ginger ale in blender until sorbet-ified ).
I’ve already cut open my thumb and dropped the 1/2 measure cup of blueberries (got to clean those up pronto, they stain horribly) all over the counter, floor and myself.
We ran out of cat food b/c hubby passive aggressively didn’t bother to mention it to me.
Hot flashes running rampant.
I’m a bit stressed.
Back to the kitchen, steaming veggies.

Happy Mother’s Day!
DD and I did a craft together today and I think it turned out pretty good for my first one. I’m going to make another one for my cousin’s wife. She has cancer and just finished her last class for her Masters.
Hope all of you are having a great day. I’ll catch up on posts later.
Terry in sunny VT
So sweet! You did a good job!
Wish I could make for my DDS.

Well, I received a call from my Nuke son, and he has been trying to pass all his tests, but the nuclear program and him were not meant to be. I was worried about him, because he was stressing out, so now he can relax a bit. Presently he's in what's called "hold" with about 10 others waiting on paperwork, schools to open up etc. So he's relieved and excited for his next part of his Navy journey. I guess he's been looking at being a yeoman, which is a pencil pusher. He is great with that, putting things in order, etc. It was nice to hear from him!
My eldest has yet to call, and he's right up the street! If he forgets, the friendly ribbing and guilt trip I will give him, he'll have no choice but to remember next year! He has never been the kid that remembered holidays, birthdays, but to me that's just what adults do.
When each son graduated from high school they were given a day planner with the addresses of family all filled in. Also, year of birthdays posted, and a listing of home addresses to keep track of where they've lived. So there isn't an excuse about not knowing!
Not sure if I'm going to be treated to dinner or not. But whatever happens, I feel blessed none the less.
Enjoy the day y'all!

Got cute card from DYS yesterday and a call today. He always picks out the most appropriate cards, so I know he reads several before picking any card out for us.
DOS came over and wished me Happy Mother's Day and got a card, 4 flamingo coasters, and a flamingo mat to go outside by the door.
Louis and I went out last night because we knew everywhere would be packed today. Had to drive into town because I was out of my Lamictal (by tonight - DH was not particularly happy about it; but, "Miss Daisy" is still having to be 'driven around'. Then we went to the DQ and got a small blizzard each and sat in the car. I went inside to get quicker service we were about 3 from the order box; and about 7 from the window. I think everybody had the same idea - and it is 'hot' out as well.
Louis is now asleep in his chair. He had said he wanted to come in and do 'nothing' ... so that is what he is doing (right now).
Love the decorated pot. My surviving violet has just started blooming. BFF gave the an orchid whose flowers have all dropped off. I also noticed that both of the other orchids, still surviving, at putting out new leaves, so maybe they'll live. I'm going to cut the stalk back on the one I was given; but, waiting to it to die back before doing so.

Happy Birthday Penny. Whenever we travel to foreign countries I always have a hard time choosing food. Usually I will just get what DH gets. Happy Mother’s Day to all. I hope it was a restful and peaceful day for you all. We went to church then came home and made a big salad. Went to the Y to work out, now we are watching golf on TV.
Terry- love the pots.

Happy mothers day all! Worked in flower beds all morning, sealed cement statues, vases, and bird bath, had cake and ice cream with now 15yo grand daughter, dinner at cracked barrel. Feeling accomplished and peaceful looking at the beds.
I am catching up, but slower than ya'll type.

Barbara: "I think that while it's likely our doublewide would be on the "can't save" list, we could improve its chances by installing a metal roof, limbing up trees and clearing brush to the edges of our little knoll."
I think you have good ideas, and they could make an important difference in the event of a fire.
Rebecca: I hope you feel good on your new macros. I try to have more protein but am quite happy when my pie chart is roughly equal. High protein seems to go with a bit higher fat. :flowerforyou:
Heather: Feel better soon.
Pip & Rebecca: Love the photos of your moms. :flowerforyou:
Michele: I would be in the same situation as Vince. Working hard in heat tends to make me feel awful. I'd probably work in the early morning, and maybe again in the evening, but not in the middle of a hot day. :noway:
Penney: Happy Birthday!!!
Regarding meat doneness. I want all my chicken and pork well done. Fish and beef are better when they are still juicy. I like beef brown on the outside and red in the middle. Red but done, not raw.
Bad News:
The new battery for DH's car and ignition didn't work out. We took it to Les Schwab and they couldn't fix it. Something in the new battery wiring killed the ignition system plus the new battery and damaged the electronics in the car. We have to have it taken to VW in Beaverton Monday and let them work on it. NOT happy.
Good News:
Mothers Day has been great. Both of my kids called and I also got to chat with my daughter's six year old and three year old.

Happy Mother’s Day!
I hope y’all had a great day!
Even though I was up at 5:30 am because poor Dolly had an accident, I had a great day!
Dolly is feeling better tonight and has eaten a little and wants to play.
I guess she needed some mom time!! I was laying down and she joined me and had her head on my leg the whole time! Sweet Dolly!
DH took me to lunch at Bubba’s, a microbrewery, where we had burgers and brew! We sat outside on Lake Hamilton. It was just perfect!
My two daughters and I had a three way text going on plus phone calls while I repainting a concrete Gnome. It was fun like the old days! I planted the geraniums into larger pots too.
Happy Birthday Penny!! I hope it was fabulous!
Katla So sorry about your car battery and it’s system! It’s a hassle!
Terry I love the Woodland Pot!. Me Gnome would like that fer his home!

Did 30 minutes on the recumbant bike then 20 minutes of yoga. The plan for tomorrow is to do some hula hoop, hold my plank, then take the extremepump class.
Barbie – I’m not exactly sure how much mulch I got, I would guess about 7 or 8 yards. No, this guy right around the block from us delivered it to us. Didn’t charge any delivery charge, probably since we’re so close. At least that’s what I think. We estimated that we’d need 10 yards, but that was a rough estimate and didn’t take into account the fact that some areas don’t need mulch (like where a bush is). So we might be able to get by with the 7 or 8 yards. I’m thinking that this morning I’ll go out and start to just pile the mulch, not spread it out yet. How much did you get?
Penny – do you make a pattern of something for you to crosstitch? Is it very expensive to do? I like crosstitching and there are some things that I’d like but I can’t find a pattern for. Your bread looks so appetizing, glad I don’t have it on my table right now. Happy Birthday
Terry – lovely craft
Spread some of the mulch today. After putting down 20 tons of riverrock this is a piece of cake! Then went in the pool. Perhaps tonight we’ll get some of my ceramics up on the pergola. Now who could ask for a better Mother’s Day than this???? Happy Mother’s Day to everyone Update: ceramics didn't get up. Why does Vince procrastinate the way he does....unless it's something he wants. Like when we closed the pool we knew that the covers for the handrails needed to be replaced. We threw out the old ones. Did he order new ones then. NOOOOO So now the handrails are really hot. BUT....he ordered a cantilever umbrella that he wanted.
Jess and Denise called
Katla – so sorry about the car. Hope you can get it taken care of

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers or not. Have had a good day, Dson came over for a little while and brought flowers and candy. We are going out to dinner at another time when my DGD can come with us. DD and I went to the nursery and bought plants for the gazebo area. Will try to get those planted later this evening. It is hot out there now. We found some evening sky petunias. They are purple but when exposed to the right amount of heat they get little white spots on them like stars in an evening sky.
Happy birthday Penny!!
Terry - Cute project.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA3 -
Michele, I got three yards of fine bark delivered by a guy with a small truck for a fairly reasonable price. Last year I got about half that much in bags from Wal Mart and it was a pain to load them into the back of the car. I wanted more last year, so this year Jake suggested getting more and having it delivered from the bark, soil, and rock dealer nearby. I weed by hand and lay the bark one handful at a time so this will keep me busy for awhile. But this year, I won't run out and I won't wish I had more. Our yard is small. We moved here six years ago when Jake decided that he was finished with yard work and wanted a house with almost no yard.
Katla, what distressing news about your car.

Hi Gals,
Barbie – fence looks so tidy! And adding Iris will be gorgeous!
Katie bug – nice looking vanity
Rye – I cut my own bangs too, and what I do is drop a narrow part of my bangs down on my face (not just the right or left, but across my face) and trim them a bit shorter than I want the finally result then drop down some more and cut them longer than the first bunch, and drop the final amount and cut those but always little short cuts at a bit of and angle so it’s not a blunt straight cut, it’s too obvious that it isn’t straight if it’s a blunt cut
Heather – all sizes of jam and jelly jars are bought and sold at about $1-2 here on different web pages!
Machka – great insight about how to “help” an introvert at times of crisis or grief, and yet I think the hardest thing to do is what you would not want; for an extrovert to help an introvert or vis versa.
Great news on DH and all the improvements!!!!
Felicia – ok, after reading your post I can’t believe I am typing this, but …. I live 45 min from San Francisco and would love to meet you when you are visiting..
Rebecca – I thought the same thing about the school secretary
Lisa – congrats!!!!!
Meg- Happy Birthday!!!
Almonds -My friends are Almond growers and there is an L in the word all-monds while they are on the tree and then the L gets knocked out when the trees are shaken and the nuts that are sold are am-ends..
I had a great trip to Boston, will see if I can get some pictures up – the weather was amazing, everything in bloom-beautiful and the history! Everywhere!!! I had a great time, landed Friday, by Tuesday was dealing with allergies? Not! A Darn cold. Still sick, my nose is running, and the drainage has my throat sore and my voice is gone. So proud of my god-daughter, she is a lovely young lady, with her BS in pre-med. Jan 2019 she starts her masters in kinesiology, then will do her doctorate. It was a real delight to also see my god son. This family has no money problems and treated us and Emily’s roommate and her family to dinner to celebrate both of the girls graduation. Emily’s roommate’s family is not as well off so this was a treat for all 25 of us, dinner at a really nice, but casual restaurant.
We stayed at an Airbnb this is my 3rd time in an Airbnb and I have loved it everytime, I think it is something I’d like to do in my retirement, this house would be hard to set up, the layout is a bit awkward for that, but I plan on moving for retirement anyway. Also had great experiences using Lyft to get us between thing that we just not located close to a T line… One day I walked just under 30K steps!
Smiles
