Good morning all!
Mouth is getting better (YEAH!). Weight is going down (boo!). I will concentrate on gaining a few pounds this weekend while we are in my hometown briefly. I see at least 2 days with ice cream involved! Woo hoo!!

That hat as a luncheon tray! LOL ROFLMAO!!!! That was pretty good!
Pip Happy Birthday! Nice bike gloves. I like the color!
Allie There should be a penalty for hiding his pension, don’t you think? Your attorney will charge you of course, but your share of the pension will probably be much more!!
Good news! I have lost 7.2 lbs since I restarted on April 19th! Yeah me!! I’m more focused and encouraged now.
Have a good day!

Been busy trying to get our side our the back fence stained. We took out a couple of trees and now I can get to it better. It had not been stained for twelve years. It needs it. It has taken longer then I thought. I can only do a little at a time because it is hard on my wrist. I am using a paint brush and not a spray.
Weekend very busy. We went to a friend's concert on Friday, out to dinner with DS, and an over 50 gathering yesterday. I made fruit kabobs. I used pineapple, cantaloupe, and organic strawberries. The non organic are so big and tasteless now I wanted strawberries that taste like strawberries. They did go quickly.

I'm going to have to try this, I don't like the strawberries I get anymore either.1 -
The only thing big tasteless strawberries are grand for is using an injector of chocolate and filling those puppies with chocolate! Or booze strawberry flavored jello! Or daiquiri mix! Ok I'll stop now!

Hi friends. I have been really overwhelmed the last several days by just the most mundane things. I can't get anything accomplished and end up just sitting there, looking around, wondering what to do all the while everything is piling up around me. I'm sure it will pass but in the meantime, it's frustrating.
I have lost a little weight, but I am not updating my tracker here until I am back to where I was. I can't believe that was in 2014. UGH. I guess that's what happens when you lose accountability.
It's raining like crazy here with lots of thunder and lightening. No real severe stuff, but boy do we need the moisture.
The stories about strawberries...the dog we had before Benny Beagle would eat them all right off the plants. We couldn't figure out what was getting to them until one day she came in from the yard with strawberry goo literally oozing off her lips! That dog's name was NOChelseyBadDog for good reason.
OK I'm going to try to get something done since I actually showed up at work today!I've been playing hooky. Actually right now nothing is going on and most people aren't here anyway.
Take care all, Meg from dark Omaha4 -

I make strawberry shortcake with them, but I like your boozy ideas.

Dana -- I really love your gnome dish.
Love the meat tray hat! Not a big fan of Camilla, so I especially loved it.
My husband sold our 5th wheel yesterday and he is flying up to Seattle Friday morning to pick up the new-to-us motor home. We are way too excited about this.
Older son has another interview with the company he wants to work with this afternoon. His schedule didn't work out with the teams he interviewed with last week, so they recommended him to another team leader whose scheduling is more flexible. We really want him to be able to get this job -- he really liked the company/campus -- and to get moving on with his life. (i.e. move out! lol)
Middle son has tentatively decided where he wants to go to college fall 2019 -- $$$$ I sure hope he can get some scholarships. My oldest son had a full tuition scholarship for his first year, and that helped a lot! Anyway, middle son is going to officially apply this week, and then some time this summer, we will head over the mountains to visit. He doesn't want to go to school too close to home, but he'll still be only about three hours away, assuming it all works out.
We had some drama last night -- my son's boyfriend's mother had a freak out about his trans status which made my son freak out with worry. So there I was, cradling my six foot son while he cried. Then my oldest son came in to see what was going on, and then my husband came in . . . and my middle son officially told my husband the situation. (Not a huge surprise to my husband, but my son had never explicitly told him he was gay, dating a trans.)
You know, I realized last night that I do not give my husband enough credit. He told my son, "I love you. And you know that I will support you and W---." I think that was more than my son could handle because he can't tell his own dad, my ex. My husband really stepped up to the plate.
The two older boys, W---, and I went out for dinner Saturday night while my husband and youngest son were gone, and W--- told us the story of when he first met my son and when he knew that he liked him. It was such a great story and painted my son in such a wonderful light. I am a sucker for people who love my kids! Lol
Sorry this went on and on . . . none of us slept much last night and we're all still feeling emotional this morning. I almost called in sick but realized that I have meetings I have to attend.
And it's going to be hot here -- 85 -- which may not seem that warm to some of you in the southern US, but to those of us in this temperate valley, it's blistering!

We are back from London.
DH was really delighted to see his daughter and we enjoyed our pizza lunch. They even had Seedlip as an AF offering with a sprig of fresh mint. I'm copying that at home!
At the train station we managed to pick up a few supplies to make DH's picnic lunch a bit more interesting tomorrow for his cricket. Pork pie and custard tarts!!!!
We had Avgolemono for dinner, made with the best chicken stock I have ever made - 3 carcases in the IP for 105 mins at pressure. The stuff of heaven!
Feeling very tired now. Amazing how tiring just sitting in a train for three hours can be! Worth it though.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx1 -

I had a horrible dream last night, if any of you can figure out its meaning, I'm open to it. In the dream I was driving a large coach bus, it was empty when I got off the bus and it continued to drive off, then crashed with a large explosion---riveted awake....What can that mean.......nothing good I think. Anyway, have fun with the analysis, I may just need some serious help.....

Hi Gals,
Heather - I have been doing the poo test, but with my brother having terminal colon cancer they want me in for a baseline NOW…
“This is my patio with the self seeded violas struggling through the cracks. I'm sure you can all make up your own metaphors! ” made me think bloom where you’re planted!
Ladies thanks for all the support, I am not happy about fasting, but I can do anything once….
Lacey – take care
Allie – glad you found support in the form of an egret… And a bit of Tom’s “hidden pension” will help your finances- every little bit helps
Margaret - good luck on your fence, a brush is more time consuming, but a sprayer wastes a lot of paint/stain
Royal Wedding – I missed it all; but the lunch meat hat is absolutely the funniest thing this morning!
So I’ve read the posts from Heather about marketing, and really looked at my budget – and fully realized what a $$ hit a week of vacation and 3 sick-ish days took on me, and have decided that I need to ramp up my embroidery business… So I am making a commitment to marketing, I have a few ideas, but know I need to leverage the least expensive options first, and facebook is one of those (not my favorite platform) I do have a business facebook page, so my goal is a post/pictures every week… I’m sure I can do this.
Smiles

I’ve had a lot going on. I’ll try to catch y’all up. I’m not sure if I’ve told you part of this story or not it’s long, so feel free to skip.
The first Monday in May, I went to my workout and we did low weights, many reps. 3 sets of 30 of about 10 or 12 different things. Flys, presses, curls, rows, who even remembers? Anyway, I was sore.
The next day I went for my yearly checkup. The doctor presses on my breasts, and of course they are sore. The right one, in the doctor’s opinion was really sore in the area where I had to be rechecked last year. He freaked, said I couldn’t wait until the 23rd of this month when it would be a year and a day and wrote me an order for a diagnostic mammogram. I went last week (a whole week early, I mean really! They did a 3-D mammogram and an ultrasound and told me my breasts were normal. They asked if I could feel what the dr felt. I said no, i was just sore from lifting weights. I thought I was done with all that nonsense. I know they thought he was crazy.
The doctor’s nurse called me today. He doesn’t care what the mammogram says. He thinks I need the second opinion of a surgeon. Suggested one for me. I said,no, I want the one who biopsied my breast the last time and did my gall bladder surgery since he is familiar with my case. A different nurse called back. My preferred doctor can’t see me until July 10. Am I okay with waiting that long? I said I was perfectly fine with waiting a year and a day for my next mammogram. I was sore from lifting weights. I know I don’t look like a weight lifter, but darn it, I am!
I feel like an idiot, but I guess I’ll go see the surgeon in July. I’m beyond perturbed.
We got a quote for our hardwood floors. I won’t bore you with that whole story but suffice it to say we won’t be getting them done anytime soon, at least not by that guy.
And........our freezer went out yesterday. I had to throw away a few leftovers from the small freezer to make room for our stuff in the big freezer, but I made everything fit but the turkey. I took it to church and put it in their freezer since I was saving it for the next church occasion anyway. We are going to try to make do without a big freezer until we can get the kitchen and laundry room floors done so that we don’t have to move it twice.
Sorry I’m such a downer today. None of these are serious problems, just minor annoyances, but it has put me in a mood!10 -
Hi Sisters, I had an awesome day yesterday, running on the beach with my dogs and then spending time with my students and horses. Lady is coming along sweetly. We are ready to take her down to the beach for the next step in her lessons. Thanks for the kind remarks about the lovely Esmerelda. I am blessed by her presence every day.
I have been doing lots of reading and research on diet, health and hormones, (obsessively!) trying to figure out exactly what to eat, what to supplement with and how to get out of my bad habits and break my addiction to sugar. I am learning so much but still lots more eye opening yet to happen. It is a fascinating journey! My goal is to reduce all inflammation in my body and to balance my hormones to a youthful healthy level. I want Food To Be My Medicine. I am looking forward to retirement day and I hope to grow a lot more of my own food in our garden, fresh and organic (lots of horse manure added!)
Today I have already worked out with weights, now I am heading out the door to walk dogs and feed the furr family, then I will be heading in for a full day at the office. Gotta dash, love ya all and keep your chin up!Wendy

Heather: What is Seedlip?
NYKaren: I love Rebecca's reply to you.

Dr.katie, we are here to listen. It's not a downer to share the things that are troubling you. I am fortunate to have a friend to walk with in the mornings and we share our "worries" with each other and it helps. Having to go back to the doctor to have something checked is scary even if you're sure it's OK. I am sending hugs to you and the reminder I give myself to stay in the moment and not write any stories with a bad ending.
