Lanette, Cathy and I beleve it was Kate Uk? Thank you all for posting the links and sharing your thoughts on The Real Skinny on Fat series! I was able to catch a few episodes. I am excited to find this.. in hopes it will be invaluable to the changes I want to make. How wonderful they have given us another chance to see more.
Cathy You look amazing!1 -
Off soon for a little walk to see the house where my grandfather lived as a small child. After that we will call in at the Turkish restaurant to see if they will let me bring my AF wine for tonight. Or if they have any AF drinks. If not I will have diet tonic and add my pretend gin drops.
My maternal grandparents were both born and brought up around here. My great uncle's memorial from the first WW is in the church. I have seen the street where my grandmother lived, though the houses are gone.
My grandfather had his leg blown off in 1916 in the build up to the Somme. He very nearly died. His brother died in Egypt. Strange to think how nearly I would not be here.
Much cooler today. We may get rain. It showered a bit yesterday, but nothing significant. Quite a relief from the high temps.

Happy Saturday!
I finally know what day of the week it is-hehe! This has been a long week considering I thought Monday was Friday-LMAO! It has been a good week though. I finally got the second half of the dining room cleaned last night. I am throwing the curtains in the wash here shortly, then will vacuum and shampoo that carpet, then will be officially done with that room. I struggle that I can't just get it all done at once, but am learning that I can only get done what I can get done. I can't wait to clean out inside all the cabinets and reorganize those! Can't do that with husband around, so on my to do list for this fall.
I got a text yesterday from my Indiana "family". They will be in town today at a vow renewal ceremony for family. I am "crashing" the reception! I don't see them as often since Cindy died, so not missing this opportunity to spend some time with them. Yes, I know the couple renewing vows as well, so all is good. I really like the lady Cindy's widower married. She is such a good person, but she isn't Cindy. 3 hours one way is a long "day" trip so I don't make it often. I use to go over about every 3 months for a weekend. I am excited to see all the babies. I watched her kids grow up and now get to watch her grandbabies growing up. Just have to get through the work day
Barbie I hope you are getting some relief finally. Gently hugs!
Pip You look wonderful, relaxed, and happy!
Cathy What a great job you have done. You look wonderful and happy!
Rebecca It is great to be such friends with our adult children.
I suppose I should get moving. You ladies continue to inspire me, make me laugh, make me cry, and give me lots of encouragement and "life" support.
Have a day of the best choices you can make, movement, and laughter!

Morning all! Real quick stop before I head out the door to get the shopping done:
Cathy- You look fantastic! You are an inspirational lady and I am glad we got to meet! Hearing about your ac troubles (and knowing the way the heat has been in TX this year) made me think that I need to talk to my DD about caring for their ac/furnace etc. I can't imagine having the air go out in the midst of that kind of heat! Glad you got yours fixed (albeit with an annoying repairman). Hoping to make a trip to the FW area in October. I will be in touch with all of you TX ladies again to see if any want to meet.2 -
Pip aka The Red Solo Cup Girl- You are so stinking CUTE!!! This Bud's for you!4
-
You all are a good looking group of women
Up early for me, finally getting better sleep routine, took 4 weeks to settle in, but that will be tossed when we travel and then start work, ah well.
Having a fun real estate field trip today. Our dear friend is taking us round to potential lake houses about an hour north of us, we aren’t truly serious about looking for our forever home, but it is fun just looking. Also, will be a welcome break for our friend, she is caring for her mom who has Alzheimer’s and any beak she gets is welcome, will probably treat her to lunch. Have to exercise later in the day. Take care everyone

NY Karen ~ I know that you have not been out for summer break for very long. It is funny that my DnL started back to work last Wednesday and the children will go back to school next Wednesday. That's because they all got out of the school year at the end of May.
Carol from GA3 -
NY is one of those states that gets out end of June. We start back day after Labor Day with kids, teachers are in the week before. I am smack in the middle of summer vacation and savoring every relaxing minute!!

BARBIE hope you get problem sorted soon, nothing worse than chronic pain
I got the link for Real Skinny in an email and have now seen all episodes. So interesting and informative, I think the most useful info has been about fasting and how bad the manufactured oil is. I need to check my cupboard as I'm sure I have fish tinned in sunflower oil, try to get DH onto butter or olive oil for frying. Although he doesn't eat a particularly healthy diet he doesn't overeat and when I think about it he does a form of IF without realising, he stops eating after dinner which is about 5 pm and then eats again about 10am next day. Of course he likes his beers but at 77 he is quite fit, no BP problems his lung capacity isn't wonderful but he smoked for a very long time, gave up long long time
4th day of IF, not eating until 5pm, feels ok, weight down a bit.

Good morning. We have a lower temp wk end to enjoy.........such a relief from the heat of summer!
Kylia, your room looks nice after your hard work. We bit the bullet a couple yrs ago & started getting rid of a lot if nic-nacks.
Was just tired of keeping them dusted. This house has several shelves up near the ceiling..........worst dust catchers! Requires a tall, tall ladder just to reach anything on them.Still have too many things, but slowly getting them gone. Both DDs are doing the same.....getting rid of stuff,so most goes to the trash.
My page on here is so messed up since last “up date”.Wrong name & age, etc. Was going to have it changed, but who knows....might be even worse. Not a big deal & I don’t care.
Our fresh tomatoes are so yummy & reminds me why store tomatoes are no good.....no taste.Supper will be BLTs.Mmm
Barb,so sorry to hear about the pain you are going thru. DH has had back trouble a few times, but usually goes away after a few days. He never knew what caused it.Heating pad helped some.Feel better soon.
Our good news is Grson & wife expecting their 1st baby & our 2nd Great grandchild. Will be DD & SIL’s first Grchild,so lots of happiness. Grson is in Marines in NC. Haven’t decided where they will live when he’s out if the service next yr. They like NC where we already have one DD & only Grdaughter living in NC. None live in same town.
Only noon & tired from running to several stores. Not something I enjoy, but seemed simpler just to get it done. It’s a beautiful sunny day,no humidity & house open to a gentle breeze. So nice.Perfect for reading & just enjoying time on the porch.
Hope you all have a nice wk end. Pat C

This is my last day here with my parents. 2 Junk Trucks are coming today to take away what we've been able to purge! They will need to have them come again at another time. I feel very accomplished. We've spent so much time reminiscing and laughing going thru the stuff of yesteryear! I've not had to push to hard with mom letting go which has been a blessing. Their new place is drywalled and it was good for them to see where they'll be and what they're working toward! My mom and I have reached a new level in our relationship. It's been tumultuous through the years. I have peace now. My son is visiting from Chicago and I've spent time with my sister and brother/SIL and kids! A productive week. My parents are not well and this process is extremely tiring for them. Hopefully I've eased part of that burden.

Barbie--I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I pray you feel better soon.

Hi friends. It’s going to be cool here this weekend, in the 70s. We got a nice slow 2” of rain last night so it was great sleeping weather! I had a friend come out and do some yard work for me which helped a ton! He worked for 3 hours and did more than I could do in a day!
Well that silly Saturn is running like a charm. I had taken the battery in to be tested and it’s been in the trunk of my car for about a month. So I had an appointment with it yesterday, so I dropped the battery back in the Saturn, and wouldn’t you know it…it started right up. I went ahead and took it in for it’s oil change and had them check all the electrical stuff and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Well it’s out of the garage now so I can drive DH’s jeep either today or tomorrow for the first time in months.
Wendy: I LOVE LOVE LOVE your dog. DH used to raise pits and we both just adore them, although I must say Benny Beagle made me love Beagles just a tad bit more. What a gorgeous coat! And his pink snoot!
Kevrit: I had to laugh at your aliens!
Barbie: I’m so sorry about your back and all that pain! Rest and ice up and get better soon!
Lisa: your cat story reminds me of these “therapy” goats (babies) that were brought to work Friday. One was a total scaredy cat and wouldn’t let anyone pet him. I got on the ground beside him and made bleating goat noises at him. He looked at me and bleated back. We literally had a conversation and then he let me pet him! It was hilarious!
Rebecca: Never thought about the saran wrap! I will start doing that too! Is Linkin Park the group that was one America’s Got Talent either last year or the year before? They were awesome!
Michelle: I think it’s nice that Vince is paying so much attention to you! Hope the derm visit goes well.
Heather: what is AF?
Kylia: sleeping in sometimes is great, isn’t it?
Kate UK: I make a spinach feta pizza too but just use one package of frozen.
Tracey: so glad your daughter was ok!
Pip: you look great and so summery!
Katla: welcome home and so glad you enjoyed the trip!
Cathy: you look awesome! I’d report that creep, but no wonder he was asking questions! He was enticed by how great you look!
Barbie: again….sorry you went to the ED! Please let us know how you are. ((hugs)))
OK my friends, I’m off to get something done on this fine Saturday! Take care, meg from rainy Omaha

Happy Saturday! I used to say Happy Caturday, but now I have a dog! I guess I could say Happy Dollyday LOL
DH and I got up early and went to the Artifact and Relic Show here in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It was raining hard this morning with a lot of lightning. When we drove up to the show the rain was slowing down a bit. We lucked out there. It was interesting looking what other collectors had for sale and kind of kept us apprised of the prices which are constantly rising.
I lost a total of 3 lbs for the month of July. Yeah me!! I swam a lot at the YMCA with the grands and when I was in Florida. I bought a size smaller blouses too. I feel pretty good about it and I'm motivated to keep on going!
Barbie I hope you find relief you desperately need for your back. I personally know about back pain. Before my fusion, I could not move without screaming. And I mean screaming. It was awful. I wanted to die it was so bad. I told my doctor I couldn't live like this, and I was one week from my surgery. He gave me a Fast Pack (steroids) to get me through. It worked! I didn't feel anything.
Cathy You look fantastic! I will have to look into the Keto diet. I don't know much about it. Can you suggest a book to read on it? The repair guy was stepping out of bounds asking you questions like that. I'm glad you had some backup come over!
Rebecca, Carol, KJ, Lanette Missing you all!
Heather Interesting story about your grandparents living in the same area and WW era. My dad was in the Army Air Force and was shot down in the English Channel during WWII. I think if he wasn't picked up by the Brits, maybe I wouldn't be around!
It's still dark out from the heavy clouds and it looks like a good day for a little nap. I'm sleepy from my meds and I didn't sleep much. I fell asleep about 1:00 AM and about 3:30 AM Dolly our 75 lb Coonhound jumped on the bed and woke us up! I told her to go lay down and she did, right next to me. I could feel her head on my stomach. Awww... I know Dolly, you were scared of the gunshots yesterday and made her nervous. (People down below us were shooting.)
I guess that's it. Talk to you later!

Was listening to a lady on Facebook, Sarah, a gal I follow, talk about self love, self worth, and self maintenance. What do you all do that gives you self love? For me, thinking about it, it was when I forgave my mother. She was not very supportive throughout the years, but I have to forgive her. I can look at what she did with adult eyes, and realize her coping skills were not that great. She didn't adapt well with change, and emotions were not discussed in our house. You just dealt with them solo. So she did the best she could with what she was given. Forgiving my mother had brought me a lot of peace. There is a calmness within, to not have to please her, to validate myself. My self worth is more of an inward feeling, not an outward validation. How I look at myself is my journey, of my making. Not a journey created by others opinions, and that feels good.
For me self love are actions taken by me to promote my self worth. Facing fears of not being good enough, not being faithful enough, are ones I still struggle with. The thing is to stare down your beast! Face your fears. How can we make any change when we do the same thing expecting different results? Only through change, wading through painful feelings, do we get to our greatness!
Sermon done! Haahaa!
Love you all!
Rebecca

Oh Barbie~ so so sorry praying it is nothing serious and can be taken care of easily.. sending you healing hugs..
work wasn't bad today, got out a tad early, went the store got my brother a roast beef grinder and a couple of gator ades. made about 100.00 bucks today.. think after tomorrow will call the auction house and have them come and take the rest of the stuff we dont want..
Cheri~ I know exactly what your going through, though we are on a much bigger scale... I am shelling out money that I might not ever get back.. but you gotta do what you gotta do..took Alfie for a ride up to my dads and down to visit Tom.. he has a fenced in yard so he gets to run around a bit there.. he is finally having some of the tree's taken down near the driveway..
will leave in a bit to meet my friends for pizza.. and then back home to chill out..2 -
Haahaa!4 -
This pic is how I see us hanging out, just chillin!3

That’s for all the compliments on my pic. That was a couple of years ago. I think I am a bit thinner now and my hair is all chopped off. If u have see the movie ghost with Demi Moore, it’s like that.
Spreading of being thinner. I can’t seem to bring myself to update my profile to my true weight. I always seem to think it’s a fluke and is going to go up any minute. I wish I could just accept it and update it. Even us skinny bitche$ have issues
I just checked, right now I have it at 4-1/2 lbs heavier than I am3 -
Hi Sisters, Day 7 of the Wendy Fast. Today I might start adding some more transitioning foods. I think it might be an S day: Smoothie, Salad and Soup. I'll see how I go and if I feel like eating more or not. Depends on the stresses of the day and if I can think of something epic enough to distract me from the trough.
Barbie, I am glad you are getting help. I hate to think of you lying in pain, missing your daily long walks with your dogs and your line dancing classes. Praying for a proper diagnosis and truly miraculous healing.
Rebecca, love the cat pic. I think cats were put on earth to comfort us humans with their magnificent purrs and to make us laugh when we need a giggle. Kittens are the biggest clowns on earth.
Meg, it's nice to know that other people love bulldogs too. I used to be scared of them and I still treat them with respect if I don't know them, but Major has won all of our hearts with his soft, sweet, goofball nature. Major is 3/4ths American Bulldog and 1/4th Staffordshire Terrior. I love his brindle "tiger" coat and I think his white neck and blaze gives him a boxer look. I love all dogs. I've never met a breed I didn't like. I have a chihuahua, dachshund, border collie and jack russell fox terrior as well. I used to breed Lassie collies for many years. When the last one died, it broke my heart and it was some years before I got another dog...Major, to be my companion and guard when I am wandering through forests as I often do.
Off to do something epic and distracting today. Wendy4
