A note about bone density. Several doctors including a bone specialist said that what I've been doing was exactly what was prescribed for good bone density but my bone density wasn't responding. The medicine prescribed by the specialist didn't do enough so when this treatment is finished, my doctor is going to put me on Fosomax. I consume plenty of calcium and vitamin D, do strength training, walking, and dancing and consume a meatless alkaline diet and it wasn't enough. I did the best I could and it wasn't enough. Right now I am staying in the moment and warding of despair.
Barbie
Really sorry!!
I hope they can sort something out for you.

Beth in NY - Praying for your son and you. It's so hard to watch when our children suffer and we feel so helpless. Do take care of yourself and let us know how things are going.
Big Hug!

Barbie, it is frustrating to know that you do everything right and are still in pain. All I’ve got is this: just think how much worse this would be if you were also heavy and out of shape.

Hi Gals,
Kaylia - I have a small machine embroidery business, I do gifts, small business logos, Letter Jackets and many other things. I messaged you the facebook page.
Toe touching, yes, hands flat.
Michele – that killed the stump, now it has to decompose, 3-5 years probably…
Snowflake – the business is busy July 1 – December 24 and then drops off, I am working hard to reach out to fill the slow times – unluckily for me the gardening business is also slow Jan- April/May so there are 4 ish months of serious financial challenges.
Tires – I called everywhere for the best deal, (20 places in 2 counties for the best deal) and because I am in CA I don’t need tires that will handle snow – just dry and wet.
Barbie – oh dear!!! Glad you know what it is, but what a bummer! Glad to hear there is a plan, and that you are starting from doing everything right, it will be a journey, but shorter than it would be if you were starting from a bad place.
Just a quick up date my brother has been back to the doctor and his white blood count is almost non-existent, and he is now having blood in his urine, so the end is on it’s way. The good thing, he is still doing things around the house and working some (he’s a handy man) My guess is the amount of time between being unable to take care of himself and passing will be short – also the medical cannabis is working for pain management

Hi Sisters,
Here is a link to foods that help reverse osteo: https://arrowheadhealth.com/foods-that-help-rebuild-cartilage/
I found out that the discs between the spines are similar to cartilage so this can help spine disc degeneration. And here is another link I sent to my mother with some great advice on what to take as a supplement for quick healing.
https://steptohealth.com/quickly-regenerate-damaged-cartilage/ Hope this helps some of you. Prayers for all who are hurting or have family or friends in pain or dying...
Loved Angel, what beautiful eyes, and I adore doll houses. I want one. LOL Wendy2 -
Barbie - It sounds as if you have knowledgeable doctors working with you and hopefully the meds will help, like they did for Katla and Michele. I really feel for you.
Beth - you are inspiring to me. Hugs for you and your son.
I sent some flowers with a free hand cream offer to my cancer friend because she was too tired and miserable to see me. She always feels she has to be on good form. I don't care what form she's in. The flowers arrived and she sent me a photo. They look lovely. They are the kind that come in a box that can be posted through a letterbox. I guess that wouldn't work in the States.
The solicitor rang back. We have to take out an indemnity because the plans have a bit of our land at the front with a kink taken out of them. We just have a straight fence! It's not expensive, but holds things up. Now nothing happens at all until Tuesday because of the bank holiday. Grrrrrrrrrr!
All your troubles put mine into perspective. Plus my 10% Happier book that Barbie recommended is helping. 10% helping.

August 24 is my husband's and my anniversary. Although we were married on August 24 in Canada, which is August 25 in Australia, it is August 24 here in Australia today, so we're celebrating today. Did you follow all that.
I've mentioned much of this before elsewhere, so I'll try to be brief ...
My husband and I "met" on a cycling forum, in early 2003. I'm a Canadian and he is Australian. I had posted a question about the Paris-Brest-Paris, a 1200 km bicycle ride coming up later that year, in August in France, and he replied indicating he was going. That was that. We made no plans to meet or anything.
In late August, on the Paris-Brest-Paris, I was walking through the last rest stop when someone called, "Machka". I wondered who would know that name, and it was him. We chatted for a little while then went our separate ways. But over the next year we got to know each other on a couple cycling forums.
In October 2004, I went to Australia with a friend and spent 3 months cycling around Australia. My husband and I met again at the Great Southern Randonnee, another 1200 km cycling event, and then my friend and I stayed with him in Hobart for a few days. My friend and I went our separate ways after that trip, and my husband and I got to know each other better online, and through emails and phone calls.
He came to North America in 2005 and 2006, and of course we did cycling events and tours together. We spent a month in Europe in 2007. I went to Australia in early 2008 for a couple weeks. And then he came to Canada in late 2008 ... and we were married on a lake just outside Jasper.
But first, on that day, we cycled a century (100 miles) to celebrate the development of our relationship ... then we were married.
My husband returned to Australia 10 days later, and 9 months later, I moved to Australia. During that time, I finished my Bachelor of Education ... and the area where he lived was destroyed by Australia's most devastating bushfire. My husband lost his home and narrowly escaped with his life. For a while, he was living in a tent trailer on the property where he worked, and I thought that might be where I would be living too ... but his employer offered us a very rustic cabin on the back of the property about 2 km from "the grid". It had, somehow, survived the bushfire. And that's where I spent my first year in Australia ... living off the grid in a remote and rustic cabin!
We've been back to "our" lake in Jasper where we got married a couple times, most recently June 2017. Of course we take photos which are in the album below. We were hoping to go there again this year ... especially since this is our 10th anniversary, but ... well ... I think most of you know the saga since March.
However, despite some doubts over the past few months about whether we'd make it to our 10th anniversary, today we're now celebrating 10 years of marriage, and 9 years of living together.

Happy Happy Anniversary to Machka. :drinker: What a year!!!!!
Just done my run. Felt a bit easier today.
We were going to defrost the freezer today, but we are now going to do it on Sunday when it is raining.
DH picked up some free zucchini from the farm gate as he was passing so I will have zoodles tonight while he has pasta.

Happy Anniversary Machka. Loved the album of your wedding. That is a beautiful area near Jasper. We actually stayed in Jasper for a few days a few years ago.
Not feeling good today so staying inside as it is hot and humid.

Due to incompetence on the part of my current employer’s outsourced HR department John and I will be out close to 1000 dollars this year and we can’t change from his ‘sub-par meets the legal definition of employer provided insurance but doesn’t cover anything in reality’ to my employers typical employer provided American insurance plan (eh, it will probably help you not need to declare bankruptcy in a major medical situation but you still pretty expensive for any medical are).
Bottom line no Dr visit for me this year. The list of things I NEED to see a dr for us growing, too as the inflamed red face areas I’ve been seeing seemed to explode this trip so Rosacea has been added to sleep apnea testing for the snoring , needing testing for osteo and bone density (that broken toe that happened out of nowhere), 1.5 years of extreme hot flashes that won’t quit, and like Heather, I have a misplaced patella and would love to get physical therapy to find out what to do to help it - etc. Even when we get some decent insurance in 2019 I’ll have to triage that - too expensive to do all that in one year.
Very angry, frustrated and stressed out right now. The vacation was great in terms of seeing my family. (My dad is looking so good!) but otherwise a travel nightmare that left me totally stressed out and sleep deprived. Our delayed flight home got us in at 2:30 A.M. only to get to long term parking to find a flat tire. When we limped home on the spare we finally arrived around 4:00 A.M. and both needed to go to work Thurs and Friday.
On the plus side, today is the “short” shift (7 break less hours instead of 8) and I don’t work tomorrow so I will head to bed about 8 pm and sleep until I’m good and ready to get up. And maybe take a nap tomorrow as well. Yeah the house desperately needs a vacuuming after two weeks of cats but no cleaning - but frankly I just don’t care.
Yeah, not finding the silver lining very well right now.
Congrats Matchka, I hope you both can relax together today!
Barbie, I’m hoping relief comes your way soon.
Michelle, I’m quietly following the Newcomer Website and more saga with interest. You are level headed to want the appropriate access only, imo.
Got to get ready for work now,
Rye with the bright red splotchy face but finally sleeping in her bed surrounded by loving purring kitties who will hopefully turn her mood around tomorrow!

Machka & DH - Happy Anniversary. Enjoy those beautiful spring flowers!
Barbie - great big (((HUGS))) Didn't you have the DEXA bone density scan this past year with good results? Makes me wonder if their equipment was faulty or some radiologist was asleep at the wheel. I would have thought the severity of the osteoporosis would have been evident before it got to this point.
Katla - I can feel your happiness at having your visitors!! So nice they can spend some time with you for a while.
Our deck repair is underway. A fellow showed up yesterday and removed all the old deck boards so we are down to just joists. Good thing we don't walk in our sleep or we might take a frightening step out the back door! Hopefully they show up with new boards and complete it soon. Our carpenter's wife was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer a couple months ago and it's super sad. Looks like he might be bringing her home in the next couple days if they can get the pain management set up. It would have been OK with us if he'd have put us off until spring but I think he looks at these jobs as therapy, it's how guys cope I think.
Have any of you ever experienced "drop foot"? This past week when I go for my walks, my right foot doesn't want to move well and just kind of slaps the dirt. I thought it was my shoes but just looked it up on Dr. Google. Making an appointment with my doc for next Tuesday when I'm in there for my allergy shots.
To quote Roseanna Roseanna Danna: "If it's not one thing, it's another". DH says I shouldn't go for my walks, but I cannot sit around - maybe the treadmill at the gym will be OK.
OK ladies, have a good Friday!

Company arrived safely. Expected chaos with Tumble and Scooter reacting to their two dogs but thankfully no fights and after a COUPLE OF HOURS and several banishments to the bedroom, Tumble FINALLY stopped barking. She still grumbled a bit but it was almost a relaxing change
This visit while wearing on the humans is very good for her.
Managed to stay AF yesterday despite serving sparkling wine, thank goodness for AF beer. Tomorrow will try the AF wine for the first time.
Also managed to stay under calories and hit protein goal despite no cardio. A wonder indeed.
Lynn in WI "to take pride in who they are physically and mentally" Brava! Words to live better by.
Karen in VA, ditto what you said to Heather about her post. Sunflowers... hmmm... and loved your adviCe to Katla to check in on her son every half hour.
Katla a whole "8 uninterrupted hours of personal competance" made me snort my tea.
Kay please don't wait, jump on the license plate issue or it could snowball. Fire off a letter with a pic of your husband's plates showing the make/model/color of his car and send it off with some kind of receipt/signature proof. If you can't find an address, send to your state's department of transportation with a copy to the state police. Rooting for you!
Cathy Angel ditto on the cool vs warm colors. Those are pics of a dollhouse your mom made?
Beth thanks for checking in. Prayers continue and are now more specific.
Barbie you are right, you've done all that you should do. When the despair threatens the moment, please find hope in the alondrate option, and keep us in your pocket.
Mary thanks for checking in, despite your so very busy life. Hope all those love gifts of service are super-fulfilling.
KJ Boqer Tov! Will you spread chocolate on bread for your kids' breakfast? It was a real shocker when I was in Israel, chocolate and bread for breakfast, Israeli chopped salad for lunch, chicken or fish with vegs for dinner. The chocolate was the consistency of Nutella but without the hazelnut flavor.
Kim hope your brother can ask your forgiveness before he passes. Your pain can't be managed with CBD.
Wendy thanks so much for the links. Much needed for my osteo and cartilage challenged knees. Bless you!
Heather flowers through the letterbox???
Machka most VERY happy anniversary to you and your husband. Big thankful hugs you made it!
NYKaren "Procaffeinating" That's what I'm doing with my tea!
Rye sleep and cat cuddling are way more important than house cleaning. Snuggle up with those purring healers!
Time for me to hoist up those big girl panties and brace for the day!
Lighter, lovelies!

Barbara - Yes, the flowers come packed in a long, flat box that posts through a normal British letterbox, so it doesn't matter if you are not home to receive. Great idea!
Rye - I cooked a whole octopus (my first time) the other day, but I had the head left over. It was still a heat wave and our general trash is only collected every two weeks. Didn't fancy the pong, so I put it in the freezer until the collection day.
Feeling a bit more peaceful now as everything shuts down for the bank holiday weekend. Can't do anything about solicitors etc. We will defrost the freezer we are leaving behind, perhaps clean out the fridge and tackle a couple of the last drawers. I really should thin out my costume jewellery, but I've tried once and didn't get very far.
I hate bank holidays, but I have my memoir to get on with and my running. Lots of improving books to read. Weather not going to be great.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx
