I did my maneuvers this morning, letting my husband see my eyes as they swirl. He felt so bad for me, patting my arm as I counted to 30. Its tough to do then as I feel so sick afterwards! But I have to do them!

Have you investigated Vestibular Disorder?
https://vestibular.org/
My husband was diagnosed with it after his brain injury and his physiotherapist has been working with him. There seem to be some improvements.
Vestibular Disorder includes several different things ... yours wouldn't be because of a traumatic brain injury, but might be something else.

Rebecca: Sorry that you’re affected with vertigo again. I hope you can find a way to get rid of it. Is your blood pressure in a good zone? Are you taking meds that make you dizzy? In the past, I’ve had episodes of vertigo that coincided with low blood pressure. I haven’t noticed the problem in a long time but I remember it well. (((HUGS)))
DS and DDIL have taken our boat out for a sail with friends. We received a call from a good neighbor who wanted to warn them that the water levels are low. I tried to pass along his message that water levels are low and the tide is falling. I sent texts and also called, but no answer. If they get stuck, they’ll be out there until the water level rises. I hope they don't get stuck and have to wait a long time to get back in.

Did the step Reebok DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to take the water class.
Wendy – if I get a phone call while I’m driving, many times I don’t even bother to pull over. I just don’t answer it until I come to a stop, usually at my destination.
M – thanks for telling me what hosting is. I’m assuming that you have to be familiar with the area. How does the campground know how familiar you are with the area?
Allie – that is so sweet of you to get your neighbor a gift card!
Kylia – happy anniversary!

Grrrr….Before Jess left for St. Kitts in May I asked her to go thru the things in her room. Instead she and Colby went shopping. So I put things in storage. Well, she comes back and is furious with me because I put things in storage that she “needed”. She brought things back saying that she needs them. Linens and blankets? Picture frames? Stuffed animals? Really! I know that she just wanted to make the point that I shouldn't have done it (to her way of thinking). I asked her “will you go thru everything before you leave” “yes”. Right now things are sitting on my dining room table. “these textbooks can go back. They can be sold”. And who is going to sell them? “Shadow needs a clean dish” Even Vince told her “she gets a clean dish every time we feed her” The fact is that Jess didn’t clean the dish all the time but bought more dishes so she can give Shadow a clean dish. I don’t need lots of cat dishes. “Shadow needs her placemat”. Really? She’s doing just fine without one. Enough said. I just left things in the living room for her to go thru. I wanted to go thru her closet with her. Admitted, I didn’t say because I knew there were things in there that she didn’t put in there. Well, she opened lots of boxes of things. She brought them in the living room, I just put them back last night. I tell you, if she doesn’t go thru the boxes on the dining room table, I’m not sure what I’m going to do. Probably put as much as possible in the closet. Jess is taking a nap right now. I’m not…and I’ve been up since 6. Oh well….
M – feel better soon
Cut the grass today. It needed it.
Rita – love that light. I know Vince would definitely want it.
Rebecca – dear Rebecca (((HUG))))
Janetr – those eyes on your Olivia! All the baby pics are adorable
Trespence – welcome
Dandl – good for you!
We went to dinner at Hibachi Grill. I remembered from last time we were there that they have this item bar where you put on your plate what you want and then they will stir fry it for you. I filled up on mushrooms, sugar snap peas, what was like a coleslaw-type of vege, shrimp, broccoli, crab. I asked them not to use any butter when they were stir frying it and didn’t take any sauce. Afterwards, I did have some of the seafood medley but realized there was butter in it, I put some mushrooms on that and some mixed veges and tomatoes. Went back and just got more of the mushrooms, snap peas, broccoli, shrimp and crab. No butter or sauce and it’s really quite good. To be honest, since I had the seafood medley with some butter, now my stomach feels yukky. For dessert I had watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. They had some other fruits, but you could tell it was canned in some type of syrup and I’m willing to bet it’s a heavy syrup so I passed on those. I did have a SMALL (like 2 bites) of this cheesecake, one bite of this chocolate thing (which I really didn’t care for) and one bite of this chocolate cake which I thought was a brownie. Bad thing was that when I got home I ruined it all by having a piece of cake – but I did throw about ½ of it in the garbage
I go for my semi-annual shot of prolia tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the welcome back! It feels good to be getting back on track. Now to just get back to where I was...we went to the gym yesterday for the first time since I had my hip replaced and I sure felt it today! In a good way though- looking forward to getting back into a routine. In a nutshell, both of my daughters are out of the house with the 25 yr old teaching and in her own apartment and 19 yr old just started her sophomore year at Montana State Univ. Not entirely empty nesters as our 23 yr old nephew is living with us while he does his student teaching. Husband is retiring- has been using up vacation and Friday will be his last day.
I have to admit, I'm a tad jealous of the grandchildren photos- they are a long way off for me still. I love to knit and luckily have other babies in my life to knit for.

Michele I feel your pain! In November my youngest daughter's stuffs will have been in the barn for 3 years! It isn't even our barn, but my mother in laws! They are too busy......well, in my opinion, if you haven't needed it in 3 years, you probably don't need most of it! The barn is not climate controlled, so heat, cold, rodents......She says they are going to do it while we are on vacation. We will see....if not ....I will start loading up boxes while husband is hunting and drop them off at their house. They drove my car for 4 months, were suppose to clean it up and take up to get oil change, again that was in April, it is almost September. Guess I need to just get it done. I am not sure where I went wrong with that one. I get they are busy, but so am I. I figure I have been patient enough.
Your dinner sounds great. Sorry the belly got upset.
Busy day. Nothing off my to do list completed, but a few things started!
Time for sleep!

In the case of a few host couples I've met on our travels, they went to their particular campground many times over the years and then either they asked, or the campground managers asked, if they would like to be hosts.

Good Morning!
The scale is nice today!!!! Down 2.3 lbs!!!! I haven't been this low since June of 2015, and then it was just briefly. Consistently, not since June of 2014. Apparently I need to log So can I start my vacation at 120 or less......one week to find out! Won't have scale, so just have to be aware of beverages and serving sizes. I am super excited though!
Lots to get done at work in next few days. Only 3.5 more working days. Taking Sara to groomer today. Will pick her up after work. She needs furminator treatment badly. Funny that her shed cycle is so off. She is shedding some, but won't start full shed for another month. At least she will be clean.
Love you ladies! I am excited for the day! Nothing special planned, but is always a good day when the scale is friendly, the sun is shining, and my joints don't hurt!
Thank you all for sharing our journeys with us!

Purl, There are three students in my line dance who have had hip replacements (two of them have had both hips replaced) and they dance like there had never been anything wrong. I know you'll be an exercise champ now. Just keep it up every day.
My friend who is teaching my line dance class for me while I heal, came for a visit yesterday.. She is a dog lover so the dogs got lots of attention. We sat on the patio for awhile until a wasp started bothering the dogs, then we came and sat at the table.
I have been very careful about my eating because I feel so inactive compared to my usual self and my weight has actually dropped a bit to the low end of my maintenance range. I am very happy about that. Also everything I eat is the same healthy stuff I always eat.
The collection of winter hats that I knit has gotten huge so I'm experimenting with knitting with cotton yarn to make chemo caps or preemie caps.

I have had really rheumaticky hips since the weekend, but today I took a few Ibuprofen and went out for my run. Listened to podcasts on Elgar's Dream of Gerontius and Satie's Gymnopodie.
The friend who told me at yoga that I was looking really well passed me in her car. "You put me to shame! " she said.
The run didn't make my hips any worse or any better, so I'm glad I've done it.
Did a couple of hundred words of my memoir this morning. I'm feeling it's a bit flat, but I'm ploughing on. It's only a first draught. I'm remembering the wild places we used to play as children, often just a step away from the adult world, but our own little kingdom.
Hoping to Skype the grandchildren at the weekend.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx3 -

Michele: I’m having frustrations with my kids, too, although they are different ones. My son is messing with our satellite TV and now I’m not sure whether I can find my programs or not. In this case, the theory is that they’re saving us money on our TV services by giving us an APP instead of Direct TV. I love Direct TV. I’ll admit it is expensive. :grumble:
Barbie: I’ve been knitting cotton dish cloths for ages. Some colors fade in the wash, especially red, but the yarn is durable and lasts a long time. I suspect you will be happy with the new project. Cotton yarn is readily available at Walmart. I don’t know about what other stores in your area sell yarn. There is a JoAnn’s about 20 miles from us and they have a very good selection of yarn, although I’ve never tried to buy cotton yarn from them.
Pip: My husband has MS. It is a cause that we think is vital. Thank YOU for riding in the MS ride.
Good news on the sailing adventure. The kids didn’t get stuck. Yay! We had a lovely dinner on the deck and our son’s best friend since 2nd grade and his family were welcome guests. My frustrations have to do with our internet and TV. I don’t like change. :grumble: :ohwell:

I don't have a lot to say, just wanted to say hi.
I have registered for my second craft fair of the season yesterday, hopefully will do a couple more big ones and then a few that are just Saturday's. Have to get going on crafting soon!3 -
Katla, I have knitted cotton dish cloths before including the one with the duck that you sent me the pattern for. There isn't a real need that I know of for them but the lady at Project Linus is accepting preemie hats and chemo caps to take to the hospital in Seattle. I have some cotton yarn that a friend gave me when she couldn't knit anymore. I know it's at Wal Mart where we shop monthly for cat food also at Joann's which is in the next town where we don't go much at all.
When we moved into the house we're in now, we had Direct TV scheduled to come the first day and set up TV for us. It turned out that all the trees around us made satellite reception impossible so when we found that out, we went directly to the Cable company and after a brief learning curve decided that we actually liked cable better. Yes, it's pricey but TV is the center of our entertainment especially now when we are both so confined to home and resting.
Rebecca, I'm so sorry to hear that the vertigo is back.

I have to share this feel good moment with everyone. It is Lauryn's (my eldest daughter) facebook post today.
J is my grandson Jonah who is 6. Mick is my granddaughter Michaela who is 2 1/2.
When the kids were getting me out of bed this morning, we were talking about what we were going to do today.
J: have breakfast, and.... wait what day is it?
Me: Wednesday
J: so we're going to Grammie's house
Me: yup.
Mick: Mimi house?!
Me: after lunch, and after nap time
Mick: no! Had big sleep!
Me: you had a big sleep, so you don't need a nap?
Mick: yup no nap. Go Mimi house.
I commented on it and said tell Michaela she needs to have a nap so she isn't grouchy when she visits. Lauryn told her and her response was: yeah Mimi best friend.
My heart grew today and my eyes welled up!

Checking in and wondering how fast we can get rid of August. So tired of hot weather. Had an issue with my “good” eye on Monday. I was doing water aerobics and saw hundreds, thousands, or million of specks in my vision. Called retina specialist as he had directed, and made appointment for Tuesday morning. Had to call dentist to cancel the appointment I had for Tuesday for dentist to look at one of the crowns I had done a few months ago. It has been hurting when I touch my lips and up to my nose. They asked if I could come that afternoon so I did. Bad news tooth is abcessed and have to have root canal. We went to Dallas to see retina specialist arriving at 9:30 and seeing doctor at 12:30. There has been some bleeding in the eye but she couldn’t see if there was a tear due to the blood in the eye. Have to go back on Thursday. Dentist put me on antibiotics so started them yesterday. Not been a great week so far for me.
Hope all of you are having a better week. : (

Hi Sisters, the sun is shining here today.
Janet, that Olivia is scrumptious. Such a little super model.
We had a newstory the other day on TV news that my husband was watching that caught my attention. I googled it later so I could share it with you ladies. A 25 year research study was done following people eating different amounts of carb ie low carb, medium carb and high carb. According to this study, medium carb eaters have the best longevity outcomes, low carb the worst and it also depends on what type of carb you eat. Empower yourself with information here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-45195474

Hello!
I’ve been really busy painting walls in the dining room and doing crafts.
I can’t do too much too fast so it takes time to do the prep work. 2 more walls to go then into the living room.
I’ve been logging my food in MFP, and following the homepage but haven’t kept up with y’all.
I have a injection in my lower back in the morning. It’s going to be raining do we’ll have to get an early start. It’s an hour’s drive to Little Rock from Hot Springs.
I hope you are all doing well!
Dana in Arkansas

Hey Dana nice to see you here again! Hope the injection helps.
Super hot in the classroom today, (I'm setting up the first of three classrooms.) Nice to see colleagues in a happy, new year kind of mood. I have one new principal and she seems promising The upper admin is just as unpromising as I remembered Ah well, the joy truly comes when i see all the kiddos next week.
Knowing it was going to be horribly hot today, I went to exercise before work, which meant getting up earlier. It worked! I will do this again tomorrow. Now I'm off to water the lawn and set up a chicken to roast on the bbq--will keep us fed for at least 3 days!
