What an experience I just had! I went to do laundry at the laundromat at that resort. I locked the RV. I had my keys when I was at the laundromat but I could not find them when I was leaving. I thought I must have thrown them in with the wash. I actually saw them with my bag of quarters. It's a front load washing machine so the door locked and I had to wait until the load was done. I checked through both of the washing machines and could not find my keys so I was locked out! My husband is up farming so I could not have him help me break in. We have a clothes chute in our bedroom that goes to the outside where I could take my laundry basket out without going in the house so I thought I would try that. The opening is only 12 inches by approximately 18 inches. Thank goodness I lost all that weight and because of exercise I am extremely flexible. I was able to maneuver myself so that I could squeeze through it and came up through the hole inside of the RV! It's funny now but I was looking at staying outside in 50° weather.
Rori - I love your remodel!
Mary from Minnesota \ Arizona6 -
Wow Mary! Could anyone have taken them? I never thought of THAT as a reason to lose weight!!
Rori - You have been a model of patience for your remodel. I hope you enjoy it to the full, especially as you will be cycling away in your kitchen. Great idea! As well as my morning cycle I do a session alternate days with running in the afternoon. I always watch some tv on my tablet.
Yoga today. I did put out my running clothes last night, but was too groggy this morning and went back to sleep. It's not really light enough now at the time I went out in July and a bit later is too busy with cars and DH wants to start his day. I will run after lunch if it's not too hot. If it is, I will cycle. (stationary)
Had veggie curry last night and I have enough left over for my lunch. Butternut squash, garbanzos, spinach and cauliflower.
One good thing about not moving earlier in the year is that we have been able to enjoy our fruit crop. Gooseberries, blackcurrants, plums, apples, blackberries from the lane and we should be able to use the pears soon. Those that are in the freezer we should be able to eat up.
The mortgage valuer is coming on Thursday for our buyers. A part of me worries that they will try to reduce the price, but I'm trying not to worry.

I'm late to this! August goals were met and I have the same goals for September: steps goal is 20,000 a day and keep calories average to around 1200. and a new one, cut back on cocoa to 2 T. a day!
thanks Barbie for the September inspiration and best of luck to all of you here.2 -

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday!
Rori- The remodel is beautiful!
PIp- Love your nails! You are going to ROCK this race!
Mary- LOL! Sorry you got locked out; but I am giggling because that is something that would happen to me except there is no WAY I could wiggle into a 12x18" opening! You are amazing! Did you ever figure out what happened to your keys?
Machka- Nice run! Thanks for the info on Labour Day in different areas! It never occurred to me that the school schedule would be different based on where you live. Makes sense, though. School times have historically always went with the farm schedules. Kids, as a rule, went to school when they weren't needed to help on their family farm. So...because your seasons differ from ours, stands to reason that your school year would follow that! Very cool!
Heather- I am already beginning to miss the sunrise early in the morning! I have always been a morning walker/runner so I have a headlamp that I wear when I go out in the mornings. The only down side to those early walks/runs are the spider webs that are constructed nightly between the trees that the bike path runs through. Extra calorie burn as I flail about trying to get them off me!
I am so happy to be done with the "party every day" season! lol It is fun while I am doing it; but man! It takes a lot out of me! It is officially back to school time! For the next two weeks we will be playing/learning and reviewing things the kids already know. In two weeks I will assess where they are and then we will go into our "school" mode, where we have a letter, number, shape, color for each week. We will be working on kindergarten readiness, basic life skills, and social skills all through play. We will have about two party days a month, now. Much more manageable.
I heard from one of my returning families (girls not here in the summer due to mom being a teacher). The three year old has regressed with the potty training over the summer. She is back in diapers. So...I will need to retrain her. I think that is partly due to her baby sister becoming more mobile and getting lots of attention and also to the family's very busy schedule, and the parents putting her in a diaper during those "vacation weeks" because it is easier. Bummer to see all of that potty training work down the drain! Oh well, my three year old boy who started with me in June is not potty trained yet; so maybe he will potty train with this little girl. Here's hoping!
The cupboards are hung in the kitchen and the closets are painted, re-shelved, etc. I just need to put the trim up in the bigger closet (that now is like a little alcove for the daycare kid's things) and I also need to find a bench seat. I am currently using my piano bench, which works; but is not ideal!
I better fly! Kids arriving soon! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)7 -

Out of curiosity, I looked it up and this is the 2018 school year schedule for Tasmania ...
2018
Terms ............ Start ....................... Finish
Term 1 ........... 07 February 2018 ... 13 April 2018
Term 2 ........... 30 April 2018 ......... 06 July 2018
Term 3 ........... 23 July 2018 ........... 28 September 2018
Term 4 ........... 15 October 2018 .... 20 December 2018
University is a bit different ...
Semester 1 is mid-Feb to early June
Semester 2 is mid-July to early November
And sometimes there are spring and summer semesters of varying lengths.
I took a summer semester last year that was full-time over the first 2 weeks of January. I was thinking of trying to get into a spring semester, starting about mid-Nov and going to the end of December (3 days a week), but I think I've changed my mind. I think I might take the summer off.
For me, that will mean I will work full-time, of course, but I won't have university classes from mid-October until mid-February. It will be the first time in 2 years that I'll have 4 months with no classes ... no homework!!
I have a home office full of paperwork that needs organising and filing. I could hire someone to do it, but I think I'd rather do it myself so that I know what's there. And as my husband's health improves, it might be nice to spend some time together. Priorities.

I am trying to get back on track for September! I love the idea that this is like the beginning of the year. I feel like I'm finally ready for January now (lol). My goals for September are to use Fitness pal to log my food diary every day, exercise for at least 20 minutes every day, and make the necessary life changes to increase my productivity (not just in fitness) overall. Hope everyone has a wonderful, successful month! Denise2

Mary - Geeze with the keys! Good thing you were lithe like a snake and could wiggle back into the RV. Hope they turned up! Hope real snakes don't come to visit, lol.
Rori - Reuben did a bang up job on your mantel area. Glad you found him. I agree about getting outside still while the weather is nice. Did that cortisone shot for your Morton's neuroma fix it for good?
Rebecca - glad your vertigo is calming down and that they have meds for it. Yum on the fried rice!
Heather and Barbara S Oregon Coast - I couldn't agree more with your advice to Lesley about starting slow, just do little things, then as you feel better, start adding a bit. I was always anxious and disappointed during my life when I'd plan to eat only a certain number of calories AND walk a lot of steps AND.....(fill in the blank). Because if I'd fail at one thing, I tended to give up on all my plans. It wasn't until I decided to start strength training last year and do it for my health and balance and to help heal my knee bursitis - not weight loss - that things started to click. As I saw results, I revamped my eating and started exploring how food and exercise impact our aging brains and bodies. Before I found this group on MFP I was clueless. I appreciated them so much!
Lisa - glad your knee felt better than it looked. Just took a peek at your blog photos. I am thrilled you have John and other family coming to help with your project - wow, move in is next month! And, it's looking great! What a busy year you've had so far.
Barbie - was it after a month of taking it easy that you'll be able to resume your line dancing and other activities? Glad you have knitting and friends to stop in and visit and help with the dogs. Hope too that Jake is doing well - when are his treatments over?
Kelly - I admire you and love hearing about your days, projects, weather, kids. I always look forward to your posts.
Heather - Same with you - days, friends, weather, house move. All of you, really! I started listing names then didn't want anyone to feel left out. ALL OF YOU!
Our deck builder Fred and his son laid down our new deck boards yesterday. Talk about working on Labor Day! Fred will stop by after work today and finish the handrails and steps....then tomorrow he'll spray on stain.
So I have to pick up a couple gallons of stain today (I think we've decided on a color....will take some wood scraps along do a test....and Thompson's Oil seal. I'm heading in to town for allergy shots this then meeting friends for lunch so will have time to kill.
Everyone have a great week!

No, I have looked everywhere for the keys in the laundromat and everywhere else and they are not to be seen! I was there was a spare set inside the RV so I am able to lock it up while I go up to the farm. I don't like the idea of somebody else having them. I'm on my way up to the farm for the week so I will be missing in action for a while. I know my mother-in-law has a to do list for me.

Lanette, Jake and I are both in limbo with our health challenges. All I know about my back is that I take this medicine daily and spend most of my time lying down for 30 days then see the doctor again. I don't know what's next. The pain has decreased which she said would indicate that the bone is healing. According to Jake's doctor, his weekly treatments will continue "indefinitely" which tells us little. His weekly blood tests show that there is improvement. Some days he feels better than others but his attitude has stayed good. We are both grateful that we have a strong meditation/spiritual practice in our lives that has enabled us to walk through these challenges.
Mary, I consider lost keys as one of life's biggest sources of stress. What a clever solution you found.
Lisa, What a tough blow for your knee. I know you're using this healing time in a good way.
Denise, your goals sound great and manageable. Being productive is a good way to keep you away from mindless snacking.
Jake has his first creation in the slow cooker for our meal midday. It will be later than our regular lunch so I'll have adjust my snacks to make it work.

I am so upset with myself. I gained again this week. Why can't I get my mind back on what I have to do?6

Good Morning!
Well, I started this trip where I wanted to weight wise. Yesterday, I managed to get to Kohl's before leaving. Got some lighter weight pj pants. Should have gotten a small, but more room in pj pants is a good thing.;) Trip down was uneventful and relaxing. I am still amazed at how relaxed I get when the mountains come into view. The only "rough" patch was unpacking. My husband just wanted to sit and relax, I needed -yes needed- to get things put away. Then we spent time on the back porch in the rocking chairs watching the lightening in the distance and looking at all the stars! This morning I am suppose to be working-hehe! But caught up with you ladies, then will do a little more (already worked an hour) Just enjoying watching a little lizard crawl across the deck.
Yes, he folded up his front legs to sun. So funny!
Better get going! Ladies, I didn't take notes, just wanted to touch base.
My view from rocking chair!
Wendy- What sad news. Prayers to your friend and her family. Glad pony home though.
Hugs to those in need!
Laughter with the funny stories!
Warm thoughts for all!
Make the best choices you can at this moment!

Vicki- I feel you! I started August at 121, but then spent most of it at almost 125, until the end. The scale can be a wicked mistress! Make small changes where needed and keep walking forward. It is a journey. Be honest with yourself. For me it is logging and quitting the intermittent snacking. There are hills, mountains, and windy paths, but you CAN do this!
Pip- Ride with us all in your pocket!
Chances, choices, and change- My philosophy! Butterflies start as ugly caterpillars, they must change to become beautiful.

Pippin is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Pembroke means he doesn't have a tail. Cardigan Corgis have tails. He is a very active little boy and very "bitey". He chews on everything but most of the time we can replace the "bad" thing with a toy and he chews on that. His first vet visit is today. He is very social so I think it will be fun! Potty training is going pretty well-he does signal us most of the time, but sometimes we either don't recognize it or get to him too late. So, more on us than him. He has spurts of hyperactivity, but then will nap for a couple of hours. I managed to get to the gym Sunday and Monday for a quick workout and have a session with my personal trainer at 4. Weigh-in on Thursday is going to be interesting. I'll be happy if I stay the same as last week. Pippin is waking up from his nap so I need to grab him and take him outside!!!

Wendy: Cream Soda and you are both so lovely in the photo. I hope you’ll post another picture of you together once he is home. :flowerforyou:
Barbara: I’ll happily say “hi” to Boise for you. We plan to go to Art in the Park with DSIL & my husband’s cousin. The last time I went there I bought a day of the week clock. That trip was shortly after I retired & the clock tickled my funny bone.
Jennybech3: Welcome! :flowerforyou:
Machka: You and your DH are doing so well. I’m happy he is home and you’re able to do the things that you love together again. :flowerforyou:
Lisa in AR: Your DH is definitely a keeper. :flowerforyou:
Rita: Your RV looks very familiar and home like, although yours looks as though your TV antenna is up and functional. I hope you love your new situation. I have a question about your steering wheel. Ours is just the wrong size for the driver to see the instrument panel on the dashboard. Looking around it to try and see the instruments is awkward and not a good situation while traveling on the highway. What size is yours? Do you like it?
I had a lovely yoga class today and enjoyed it. I’m still in an energy lag after the past couple of weeks with houseguest and travel & yoga today helped me stretch out grumpy muscles. I still feel like I need to catch up on rest.
Katla in Beautiful NW Oregon
Katla thank you for the comments on our RV! We are living the new situation.
As far as the steering wheel goes, we have a lever that allows tilting of the steering wheel. It is on the left side towards the bottom. My DH has to move it all the way up when driving to be able to see the gauges. He likes it fine this way. I will pm you about the working antenna when I am on my PC later. On phone now.....

[/quote]
Lanette: The cortisone shot gave me temporary relief. Morton's Neuroma is more annoying than painful. It feels like a sock is bunched up under your toes. Now that I understand it better, I'm using better orthotics, applying reiki and being mindful of how much pounding I put on the nerve. Often just visualizing the nerve cooling off and settling down brings relief.
Vicki: (((hugs))) May I suggest you journal what you are feeling? Maybe discharging what's behind the eating angst will help you identify the triggers. Self awareness is so key to success with our health.
Thank you all for your positive comments on the mantle. I'm off to swim early today, then taking DH to the optometrist to get his glasses Rx adjusted post-cataract surgery.
Make it a great day, friends. We can do this.

So busy, and so little time at the moment.
Trying to fit in some Wii body test and agility exercise in, the schizo Wii program can’t decide if it thinks my fitness age is 65 or 39. Lol, it all depends if it gives me two balancing/ agility tests or one mental and one balance. My woeful balance ( which is woeful due to my disabilities, not due to age- but certainly age isn’t on my side) has the Wii being snarky again. “ The agility test isn’t your strong suit, is is?” Lol
Reading and thinking of y’all.
Matchka, I approve ( not that you need my approval, lol) of your priorities) . Maybe you can plan some fun summertime activities with DH that you may have not done other years because you were booked with school and study or you two were on your LENGTHY bike rides which it sounds like you might have to start working up to again.
Be happy and well today y’all!

Lisa so glad Corey forward thought about the easy to step in shower. You and Rori and Heather are helping me to re-think my climb on chair to rearrange kitchen cabinets plan...
Karen in VA thanks for Farley's CBD oil story.
Wendy was Cream Soda's mane intact? "grabbed the golden hour" Yes!
Rori converting wasted TV space to closet and storage, brilliant! V pretty!
Mary you crawled up and into your RV through the clothes chute? WOW! Awful feeling that someone might have your keys. Would having locks changed be ruinously expensive?
KJ flailing away spiderwebs in the pre-dawn darkness, you are one brave gal!
Machka your "summer" plan sounds just right.
Vickie ((hugs)) When the upset-with-myselfs strike, try taking one positive action. Do a 5 minute Leslie Sansome walk. Prep a healthy snack. Anything to transform that energy. As Rori reminds, you CAN do this. This advice brought to you by she-who-ate-TEN-pieces-of-salt-water-taffy-yesterday. :{
Rita beautiful pics as always. Does it get very windy there?
Rye like yours, my wii often says whatever test I just completed isn't my strong suit. . . except, like you, for memory, thank Goodness! I should find some time to include balance training-not-just-testing on the wii as Dr. Dougie Hauser will be re-testing on his wii in December...
Welcome sandispaz, let us know what you'd like us to call you and roughly where you are.
Anyone heard from Terry lately?
Great walk on the beach yesterday then a total slug the rest of the day, reflected in meditation and knee care numbers.
Joe used up one of SIL's MONGO zuccini in his breakfast stir frys. I'm tasked with using up the 2nd and we'll sneak in, uh er DONATE the third to some poor unsuspecting soul. Wish it could be you, Barbie! Made these roasted zucchini mozzarella and cheese things yesterday, enough for two and a half meals. Today will grate the rest and make bread and muffins for the freezer. We are zuccini'd out!
Lighter, lovelies!

Love the mountain and rainbow pics!
The recent monarch caterpillar we had in our front yard turned into a chrysalis. It pick vegetation the rabbits like so I put a bird cage over it to protect it until it hatches. If you try to help the butterfly out of its shell before it is ready or a baby turtle get to the sea without letting it swim through the sand they do not make it. You just get to watch the miraculous transformation.

I'm in a ranting mood; therefore I won't bore you with the details; vacation was a bit more stressful than I expected it to be. I hate being somewhere when I have the feeling that it is just the 'wrong place at the wrong time'. We're thinking about going back out to visit Will and Tami after hunting season and maybe rather than go the week prior to dove season opening up; we'll just make 2 visits per year (not counting the trip that Louis and Trey make to go hunting for a week) and move our visit up maybe by a month. Maybe go in March and earlier in August. They always go off for a weekend by themselves after hunting season is over in mid-February. I have not cried in the past 2 years from leaving there (because I knew that he was happy being married to Tami). I cried when I wasn't asleep in the car coming home. When we left there was a huge rainbow, took several pictures of it and sent it to Tami, then I realized it was actually a double rainbow. Crossed the state line at Ft. Benning, GA and there was another big fat rainbow; it also was a double one. Sent that one to her with the message. A sign from God from our hearts to y'all's and a lot of hearts6

Getting back on track! When I have vertigo I just don't feel like fixing or chopping anything! So I just settled for whatever husband and son wanted, red beans and rice, cereal another, and pizza last night. In the scheme of things, eating on point isn't as important as resting and being nice to myself. I own up to all I eat, even on days when logging, isn't going to happen.
Last night the heat kicked in. Husband stated this morning, when he walked downstairs he smelled the furnace, strange we can smell heat. We have it set to kick on at 65'. Summer is over. About a week of 80's and that's it! The nudist in me is in mourning.....
Today husband getting a haircut, and then store walking, around the old town of Oak Harbor. Quiet and relaxing.
Dealing with some pain issues regarding my skin condition. Its located on various places, a leison on my chest, hip, and in some sensitive areas so its no fun whatsoever. Nothing I can do but deal with it with topical creams, as there is no cure. Not a STD or anything, just called licen sclerosis. It kind of can take over my life mentally if I let it, so I mostly try to ignore it. Wow, so negative Nellie huh!
Picture time!
Is anyone a Betty Boop fan? I recd a wind chimes thing from my MIL and its just not me. It was from her sisters stuff, so something she didn't want. Here's a pic.
Hugs friends!

Lenora ~ Sorry that you felt a bit uncomfortable on your trip. I have had times when I felt exactly that way.
Mary ~ Can't imagine squeezing through that tiny space. Thank the Lord you have kept up your exercise and weight loss.
We just spent an hour trying to rehang lace curtains in our bedroom. Not totally (but just a little) losing our cool as we tried to make sure we were using the right side of the curtains and the right side of the rods. I start something and then DH takes over. Ugh!

If anyone wishes it, I can just send it to you with the shipping charge. Maybe help pay some of that. It would be appreciated. I have it on the yard sale sites but no one's interested.
