My legs felt like lead today during my run. I had done yoga earlier, of course. Felt very tired this afternoon and was tempted by a pastis this evening. Of course one made me very much want another. Glad to say the AF wine came to the rescue and I swallowed half a bottle. Narrow escape! My serving of pastis is 2 units.
I've been upset by some political stuff going on over here today. Made me a bit depressed. Need to work on that.
Cheri - meant to say how glam you look in your new profile pic. And your face is looking slim. Have you lost weight?

Barbara Yes it does get windy here. We have been here a little over a week now and every afternoon, we have had a wind storm. Some days with rain, but neither lasts very long.
Hosting is going well. This is working out to be a good thing for both my DH and me!

Lenora I like the things I do when travelling. I do find it stressful. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences while travelling too and with family members on those travels and getting sick on the trip. I also have had times coming home to additional problems like mice, broken appliances, and family members in the hospital. DH wants to travel and he too is not always the easiest to travel with. I need more down time than he does when I travel and that is part of the discord. I would love to go to Sweden again. It is the twelve hour travel that is holding me back.
Therefore I love it when anyone here posts travel pictures and from where you live. I love getting to experience these places through you. Thanks again Kylia and Rita for your recent pictures.

Rebecca - Is that elk visible from your house? Our heat has been kicking in the last couple of weeks. Very fall like here as well. Today I regretted not wearing a jacket when I was in the car on the way to work.
Rori - Love your fireplace revamp! I bet your husband would love a turntable. I have been thinking of one of them for my husband as well. I just don't know where I would put it.
Mary - Lost keys in a laundromat, that is troubling. Luckily you were able to get into the RV. Hopefully your keys weren't marked in any way. Funny story, I work in the security industry, a few years ago we took over a contract from another company. When we went to do the exchange of keys, the company had the business name and address marked on each key tag for the clients. Of course, that was the first thing we had to change when we took it over.
Heather - I was thinking as I went for my walk Sunday evening, before long I will have to find another route that has more street lights. So very discouraging already.
Kelly - I bet you are looking forward to a reprieve from the holidays. My granddaughter has started potty training this past week. She peed on the potty for the first time yesterday before they came to visit at our house. She was so very proud, it was the first thing she said to us when she entered the house. How many children do you have now? Do you have some that come only before and after school?
Kylia - Beautiful views from your deck. I always feel more at peace when I leave the city and see the mountains.
Rita - Gorgeous rainbows
Machka - I think you are making a wise decision to take the summer off of school. You and your husband deserve to have some time together. I would rather sort all of the paperwork myself as well. What if something important got tossed?
CBD Oil - My youngest daughter had two slipped discs when she was 21, she suffered for two years in pain before she was blessed enough to be 5th in a North American study to have prosthetic discs put in. During the two years that she was incapacitated the doctors kept trying to push percocet and morphine on her like it was candy. She was scared of the addiction problems that she had heard about with heavy drugs like this so she chose cannabis. For the two years that she was suffering she only took 10 pills. These were travelling days and a couple days after her surgery. He doctors told her that they were happy with her decision.
Just received word on my Mother in Law, she had another stent put in today and will be kept in hospital overnight tonight as well, but as long as everything goes well tonight she will be home tomorrow. They have only been looking at her heart issues and not the rapid weight loss. My Sister in Law is going to be meeting with the doctor to discuss this as a separate issue.

Rori--That looks really nice. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the good advice. I am going to try that. I know part of my stress right now is yearly evaluitions I am doing for my employees and one I am having problems with. My HR says because he got written up in June (our years go July-June) he does not get a raise. Now he has come in extra and helped when needed. He made the mistake of falling asleep and missing a patient transfer. Then I have another person who keeps taking time off and this summer he took 3 months off to go visit family out of the country. So that met no one else could take more then a couple days off all summer. But he gets a raise. So I have really been stressed about this. And we are already short one person and another one is having knee surgery next week and will be off 6-8 weeks, since we are a 24/7 dept someone has to be here. So right now is major overtime for serval of us. I am too old for 50+ hours a week. When I get tired and bit*** I want to eat.
Mary--WOW!!
Kylia--Thanks for the encouraging words.
My lady that comes and cleans every other week called in sick for today, so when I get off work will go home and do some dusting. DBL was going to vacum and sweep for me so that helps.
Blessings, Vicki GI NE3 -

Jake's first meal in the slow cooker was a success. It was a sort of pulled bbq chicken. He had his with buns as sandwiches. I had mine with frozen veggies. I put my last zucchini in the veggies. It was the size of a small. carrot.4

Barbara- I don't think that changing the locks would be expensive at all. I was unable to stay to do that because I had to get up to the farm to take my mother-in-law for her hair appointment.
Tracey - We had a heart shaped keychain on it from the dealership with the dealership name. I am not too worried about the adult people that stay there, but I am concerned about the teenage dock boys that work there because one of them is under suspicion for breaking into the camp managers camper and stealing $500 and his credit cards. Stupid thing is that he used the credit card to order things online from Amazon.

I’m baaaaack!
I’ve had a very long weekend involving lots of time in the car with a perpetually hungry grandson! I’ve managed to stick with high protein choices, plenty of liquids and as little junk carbs as possible.
I must be doing something right, because I went for my second dietician visit for my Bariatric pre-surgery program, and I’ve lost 11 pounds since early July. She liked my protein choices, but we agree I need more green veg.
My DGS who is 6 and autistic just managed last week to get out the words quite clearly, “I love you, Gahma! Buh-Bye!” It’s hard work for him, but he’s coming along so well!
Cats are living the sun today, and I’m thinking they’d better enjoy it while they can! Cooler, wetter weather here in Western WA next week!

Thanks Heather!
My weight loss remains at about 30 lbs. My body likes where it is however I would and need to continue losing. It's a journey. I'm having some issues with my depression/motivation. Working thru it best as I can.
Following your housing saga! My goodness the patience you must have. Mitch and I love our new place and have settled in nicely. I love your decluttering journey. It's a chore but so worth it!

Barbie: You seem to be making improvements in your health. I hope each day gets better than the one before.
Rori: Your remodeling of the fireplace and TV wall is fabulous! :bigsmile;
Pip: Fabulous nails!
Rita: We are considering replacing the steering wheel on our RV because we can’t see the instrument panel and gauges well enough. We’re looking at two online. We will see. We’re planning a short tip to see DSIL and family in Eastern Oregon. I’m thinking we’ll be away four days +/-. We’ll look at the steering wheel situation more closely when we return home. Your rainbow sky photos are fabulous!
Tomorrow we are taking our dog to the groomer and getting ready for a road trip. We’re planning to visit DSIL in Eastern Oregon for a few days and we’ll be loading the rig and getting ready to go. I hope that I can squeeze a visit with Arrow into the mix. He needs the attention.
DSIL and Cousin Bill love to go to Art in the Park in Boise, and we are planning to join them this year. Several years ago, I bought a clock from one of the vendors there. It is a days of the week clock. It says that today is Saturday. Maybe I should change the battery.

Rori Marvelous Mantle Magic!
Wendy Glad Cream Soda is home safely. So sorry about your friends' son.
Barbie So glad your pain level is decreasing! Back is healing, you'll be back to walking for hours & line dancing before we know it!
Rita Cool double rainbows. I love the light.
Mary Wow, Houdini, what a trick! We used to go down the clothes chute in our house when we were kids. Mom never did fully appreciate the skill and bravery it required. Hope you found your keys.
Carol You should have had a little THC-containing CBD oil before hanging those curtains, !
Lanette Yep, the hemp CBD oil is legal in all 50 states. We get it in the mail. We actually give our dog the one for humans. We chose Bluebird Pharmaceuticals because they, like NuLeaf, publish their 3rd party independent lab analysis online. That's how you know you are getting what you paid for. I keep it in the refrigerator so the oil doesn't go rancid, since the bottle lasts forever due to the tiny dose our tiny dog requires.

Today will be day #2 of home school for my grandson. I am there from 10-2 while Mom is at work. Day #1 was a learning curve. We missed part of a mandatory live welcome because the firewall wouldn't allow it. (Why didn't Dad get that taken care of ahead of time? They've had all summer to get the computer ready re: firewall, headset and microphone, audio/visual, downloading the proper web browser, etc.)
Then there were some cross words between my son and grandson about him using his phone to pull up a playlist of music he wanted to listen to while doing some of his classwork. I am Learning Coach and will have to put my foot down if it my son can't stay away while we "go to school". It took an hour for my grandson to calm down after their interaction. He has not been diagnosed as autistic or Aspberger's, but has processing, emotional, behavioral, and sensory issues that are similar. Neither public nor private school ever worked for my grandson.
It might be necessary for my grandson to be here at my house for his home schooling. It would be better to be at his house because he has his own desk and computer all set up, and no dogs to distract him. But sometimes Dad works from home & that's a Problem. I know this: I haven't advocated for home schooling for 3 years just to have my son sabotage it for my grandson. I usually keep my mouth glued shut, but I won't be able to if he undermines this. He is a compulsive lecturer.
Karen in Virginia6 -
Karen sending strength to you, it sounds like you've undertaken critical work with gs and will take some time to adjust. Good that you have your own place for a plan b location if your son can't stop himself from lecturing!
Another scorcher of a day ahead, but I am fortunate to get this time to set up my schedule and classroom for best results. It's all about the prep: gym bag packed, breakfast, lunch and snack prepped and yes, a thermos of coffee(!) so I can focus on the work at hand.
NYKAREN2 -
Karen - Ooouuufff! Sounds like a difficult settling in situation. Sharing spaces can be so difficult, especially if both like their own way. Glad your grandson has you as advocate.
Going to take a selfie of DH and myself and send it to the grandkids as "Good Luck" for their new school year. Max goes back tomorrow and Edie starts school for the first time on Friday. It is a bi-lingual school English/Spanish and she is going to be in Colombia class. Mac doesn’t know his new class at the moment; last year he was in Costa Rica. I think Edie is going to be a great linguist, whereas Max is not bothered one way or another.
Going to sweep the porch and patio today for the mortgage valuation tomorrow. Get rid of the millions of cobwebs and weed the gravel drive.

Good morning all! Happy Wednesday!
Karen VA- Studies have shown that there are things that help the brain neurons receive, store, and retrieve information better; music is one of them! You have to find the right music for you. It has to be something that keeps you focused and does not distract. All of those years of parents telling their kids to turn the music or tv off while they study are wrong! Some brains need that background noise. Chewing gum also helps you learn better, along with pacing or movement. Thinking of you and your grandson as you advocate for him and home schooling! I remember the problems he was having the past year or two and I am so glad you are trying this route! Big hugs to you both!
Tracey- I have six kids with me this school year. Rowan is four, Jackson and Harrison are 3 1/2, Grace is 3, Stella is 1, and James is 9 months. I have a ten year old girl that is here for only about 15 minutes every morning before she catches the bus. Then I also have 7 year old Trentin on Wednesday evenings and every other weekend. Next fall the four year old and the three year olds will be another year old and most likely all be entering a formal pre-school setting. I already have a wait list for fall 2019!
Rye- Awww! I love that play photo! Is that a painting or is it a paint effect with a photograph? Either way, I love it and it's so creative!
Sharon- Hurray for you and the good visit with your doc! You should be very proud of the weight you have lost this month! Your grandson is adorable and I love the photo of him with his first dog! *sigh* Brought back those "first dog" memories!
Barbie- OMigosh! I am not sure if I mentioned that I try to incorporate the major holidays of a few different religions/cultures on my daycare calendar. Well, I had just completed my September/October calendars and had added Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and was looking up crafts to do with the kids when your books arrived! LOL I am so excited to share them with the kids. Especially the ones that are the Hebrew versions of the childrens books that I have read to them. The CAt in the Hat and Curious George are read often and the kids will love to see them in Hebrew and see "how" they are read. My grown son, Colin, came home and was tickled to see the Frog and Toad book! Frog and Toad were favorites of his when he was young. He took the alefbet (alphabet) book, the Usborne 1000 word book, and the Frog and Toad book to his room and started "reading"! lol Never to old to learn to read! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for this wonderful gift!
I think that's all I have in my brain right now! Sending love and hugs to all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)4 -
Good morning Ladies -
We (like Cheri) are finally getting some measurable rain here on the edge of the Hill Country in TX. We have a 50% or more chance of rain for the next 7 days. I can't remember the last time we've had that. We were supposed to have a neighborhood fish fry Saturday but they postponed it a week because of the rain. Perhaps we'll have a patio therapy session on the back porch and watch it rain Saturday evening instead .
Have a great day ladies!

Okie Do you love sitting outside in a covered area and watching feeling and listening to it rain too? Not much chance to do that this summer, but I find it so relaxing and soothing. Hope you get much needed rain from that 50% chance!
kJ You got it, I took a photo and put a painterly effect on it. Not satisfied with it yet, still experimenting. I’m super busy but have had some extra time at work to “play” with my photos when it gets slow. I love your descriptions and stories of what you do with your work days - I have a fully realized imaginary KJ vibrant and happy day care in my mind!
Busy. Keeping my exercise up, but not managing to lower my calories enough to lose more. weight. That is OK, I am in normal BMI range and the weight is healthy. I just would like to get to a lower ‘decade’ weight wise so that I’d have more wiggle room for vacation and Holliday’s without always feeling stressed about putting on weight. But on 1400 calories a day, and a work and life schedule that makes it impossible to spend more than 1/2 hour cardio I’m not finding it easy to deprive myself and lower the calories.
We might be adopting another kitten. It is a long story, we surely don’t need a 4th feline member of the household, but this sweetie bewitched my husband and she needs a home. I am beginning to understand that my DH is the family ‘crazy cat lady’ and I’m never going lo be able to get a dog. LOL.
