Allie: Likewise, I'm still having home improvements going on. Reuben is over now installing an under sink water filter in the kitchen. It's supposed to be a 5 minute job, but he needed to make 2 trips to Ace for a hose, so it's going to be closer to 90 minutes. :o Will be glad when done as I no longer can stand having the Pur filtration system attached to the tip of the faucet. Under the sink is another nasty mess I'll need to reorganize. Fun times at our place. :D

Heather: Love the photos. Your friend looks good for her age. Your plumber sounds like a keeper.

Katie: So happy you got a reasonable quote. Can totally understand your eagerness to get started.

Spring weather expected all this week....yay! Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Going to try to get caught up. I apologize in advance if I miss anyone/anything.

    Welcome everyone new

Sat. did some Wii training games, sun did a Yoga Works DVD, Mon did Stott Pilates DVD, the plan for tomorrow is to do an extremestrength DVD at this one gym.

Well, I’m back from the shower. I tell you, it was like a wedding shower. People weren’t even paying attention to Denise as she opened her gifts. Yes, the two hour open bar. An open bar at a baby shower? Came home today. Saw Denise’s townhouse. It has three SMALL bedrooms. I think Jess’ townhome in Reston was larger. The room Vince and I slept in could only hold a bed – no dresser of any type. Someone else commented about how good the cake from this bakery is. Honestly, I didn’t see any difference between this one and one from WalMart, except the price. This was was about twice the price of one from WalMart. I made 48 favors and EVERY ONE of them was taken home. I don't think Denise cared that no one was paying any attention to her. She told Jess when Jess said that she couldn't come due to school "that's OK, just send the gift"

I’m thinking that what I’m going to do is track every other day. I don’t think I have a real healthy attitude toward food. When I don’t track, I tend to go overboard.

Happy Birthday barbie Happy Anniversary Katla

Pete took us out to dinner when we got up there. You know, I’m a bit concerned about Denise. For dinner she only had two bites of dinner. Never once did she have breakfast, there was very little food in their townhome. I know her and she’s concerned with her appearance. I’m wondering if she’s not eating so that she doesn’t gain that much weight. Maybe this is just overly worry-wort mom talking. They did go for an ultrasound and it seems the femur is too short. Not exactly sure what this might indicate. She’s supposed to go for further testing

Betsy – congrats on the court case

Been making those loom knitted hats. It’s a good craft to do at the Green Room when we aren’t busy. I even got one of the kids to do it. He said it’s a good craft to do when they’re rehearsing. He gives me the hats and I just donate them.

Margaret – the only thing I don’t like about the big containers of yogurt is that I’m the only one who eats yogurt and by the time I can get to the bottom of the big container, it has sometimes gone bad. So in the end, it’s worth it for me to get the smaller containers rather than having to throw out yogurt.

In a way I can’t wait to go up when Denise has the baby since she has an instant pot. I never had one and am dying to try making yogurt in one.

Started quilting this lap quilt and completely forgot that you need to start quilting from the center. Uggghhhh….I hate quilting

    Rita – great NSV

Karen in VA – I love my oven, too. I’ve really never used the convection since I really don’t know much about it. But it does have a proof setting, and I really like the warming tray, 5 burners, too. Only mine is electric.

Rori – thanks for the update on Meg

    Prisoner2food – get better fast

Kate – I have a mini trampoline and really like it. Good workout but almost no impact.

Went over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Quite a sight. Only problem is that we used Waze and can’t figure out how to get it to use an alternate route

When Denise lived in her old place, it was a real mess. When they moved, the cat tree was such a mess that they never moved it. Now her house looks like they must have a housekeeper

Someone else got Denise a diaper cake. She said she made it, but I remember seeing one just like it on Etsy for over $100. Too perfect. Well, mine was made with love.

    Happy Birthday Sharon!
KJ Andrew Henry's Meadow was a favorite book of mine back in the day, maybe it's still available in your library?
Machka ditto what allie said about your angel grandmother's wink. Lovely story, even though I don't care for raspberries myself ;)
    Katla all praise duct tape!
Connie in KY and KJ hear you about the easy cleanup of electric ceramic cooktops vs gas with grates etc, but I am so happy to have gas I smile as I wipe up after Joe every morning... so far ;)
Kay floors, fridge, painting AND new sale low today? woo HOO! Happy Spring!
Evelyn "Please know that I do laugh, cry and send telepathic hugs to all of you!" well said and ditto!
Heather "forgot about trying to get our steps right and just enjoyed ourselves" Hooray! Gave me a BIG smile.
Yvonne thanks for read Tolkien day, just the excuse I needed to pull out my dogeared copies of the Hobbit and LOTR.
    Michele "open bar at a baby shower" and "...just send the gift" SMH! :}
    Dana 93 trees ?!?

Experimental cheddar corn muffins with 2 secret ingredients (oat bran soaked in sweet and spicy jalapeno juice) turned out yummy! Held myself to one, will freeze what Joe doeson't finish today.

Machka ~ There is a close resemblance between you and your grandmother. You look so young and happy. Very nice picture! <3

Barbara ~ Those muffins look yummy and that new stove looks so clean! :) I really need to clean my over, but, it is so difficult. It has a steam clean setting but that never works well at all. I have to scrub and end up using spray on over cleaner.

Dana ~ Daughter looks like she is having a blast.

    Chilly Spring Day in Georgia!

Window cleaner came this morning and estimated $33 for all the outside. We have a LOT of glass and rooflights. He did it there and then and will come every 8 weeks. At our last house we had the cleaners every month, but it was an agricultural area and much dirtier. DH was pleased with the price, the previous guy's estimate was quite a lot more. We are three stories high, so he used a water squirting long brush. :D Of course, I then saw the blobs on the inside of the extension, so couldn't resist having a go while DH mowed the lawn. It's not perfect, but good enough for our standards.

Decided to make roasted tomato and red pepper soup this afternoon with the last of the chicken stock. Bought masses from the local Middle Eastern shop. Big pot going now. We will have it with bread and cheese before our Swing class tonight.

Talking of Swing, I bought a very cheap 50s style full skirt from Amazon. Black with white dots so I can wear different coloured tops with it. If it's no good it didn't cost me much!
I had an email from the Swing organisation to say that the Brighton Fringe event in the big tent in May has almost sold out. So I got on the phone and ordered tickets. The girl on the phone said I was very lucky as there were only a few left. :o We get concessions as we are old folks. Don't know why it's such a thing in Brighton, apart from the very dynamic organiser!

I've been quite achy at night, but ok in the day. On Sunday, before the dance, I ricked my neck somehow, don't know how, and had a stiff and painful neck for the dancing. It's still there, but not as bad. Hope the aches go away as it keeps me awake.

I'm still under goal weight by a pound, but I've put on a pound recently. I have been eating a lot. Nothing drastic, but I would like to gradually shave it off again. I will trim back on carbs I think.

Dana - DD, so brave! I just know I could never do that! She looks so happy. <3

Lots of love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx
