Allie – sometimes they not understanding something is a blessing. It would only serve to hurt if he understood, and who is being hurt?
M - thanks for those quotes. I was originally thinking of something to do with a turtle (hare beware?), but why not have something else?
Carol – good luck. I’ll be thinking of you
Dr. Katie – I like the “slow down”. Turtles are slow.
Barbara – I really don’t have anything particular in mind about the turtle. I’d like something funny having to do with a turtle, but I’m open to anything else. I think Katie’s suggestion of “slow down” is good. Turtles are slow and so many times we’re rushed.
Off to ACMoore to get a frame for the diamond dotz pic I made Jess for Christmas. I want to get the pic put away before she comes home. After she leaves I’ll start on Denise & Pete’s. Then we’ll go to Office Max since they have this thing where you can get up to 5lb shredded for free. We have old stuff from Newcomers that should be shredded (like cancelled checks). Vince also wants to stop at the Hallmark store.
Before the Green Room stopped at CVS since I can get Cheerios on sale, plus I have coupons only they didn't have any. They told me they were getting a truck tomorrow so I'll stop there on the way to the Green Room Thurs. Or else I'll stop at the CVS before the water class tomorrow. Then volunteered at the Green Room, then WalMart to pick up a few things but I really needed gas.

I sent my email to work about the yearly MS ride and I already got 100 bucks from one person and 20 from another!!!!6

For the belly of the turtle, I like "cherish today" which was on the list and means sooo much! My granny used to say that "tomorrow isn't a Promisted day" which is so true so we should all Cherish Today!4

I too like including word Slow. Slow and steady...1 -
Rori--Thanks for the update on Meg. Please let her know we miss her and keeping her in prayer.
Rita--You are looking fantastic!!
Welcome Beverly--This is a great place for freindship and support. Come often.
Carol--Keeping you in prayer that all goes well with your surgery. Sorry to hear DBIL is making things so hard. Maybe the state stepping in is best, that way he can not blame you or DH about anything money wise.
Well at weigh in this morning I am up acouple pounds and not surprised. I keep gaining and losing the same couple pounds. With this warmer weather I want to get out and walk more. Also yesterday I cleaned out my rock garden from the winter and can feel it today. But it looks so much better and ready for mulch to be put down.

Just learned I have no legal recourse to pursue a law suit. I now will start considering going to the press. Will get thoughts together before I do so.4

Drove to the airport ok and dropped off son last night. He's going to be in San Diego for about a week prepping helicopters. Its 80' down there, so jealous. Told him I would finish packing his Legos, and throw them in boxes. He about stopped breathing, haahaa!
Haven't packed much here, cuz we're just going to pack the car and drive back and forth. It seems pointless to pack into boxes only to take out again in a sec. Maybe pack the car, and have one box as transport. It will definitely be one of our most unusual moves.
Rita hubba hubba! You look mauvalous!!!! I am amazed, but I think aliens have switched your body! Naah, just kidding. You have put in a lot of work. Proud of you!

Carol ... Praying you have a successful surgery and your recovery will be quick and complete!
Barbara ... sorry your pup is having so many difficulties.
Kay ... the rug choice is a good one!
Rita ... you look wonderful!
Have hit a plateau in the weight loss. I'm an impatient person but will press on. Helps that my clothes are fitting better.

Machka, Thank you for the list of two word quotes. I bookmarked the site because I'm sure it will come in handy one of these days.
Carol, Best wishes on your surgery. We will all be with you and cheering you on at the surgery and during all the recovery time after. It's hard to detach from a relative who doesn't want to be helped but you and your husband can do it. Sending hugs to both of you.
Kay, how great that your husband provided funds for the rug you wanted. He's a keeper. It's always a good idea to think overnight about an expensive purchase.
Jake planted a few more of his gladiola bulbs today after lunch. His energy level is low so he finds ways to do what he wants in small doses. This morning he went out with me to do some errands I dreaded and served as the driver and moral support. Now he's napping with the pets.
For years my mother and her first cousin who lives in NYC talked on the phone about once a week. When my mother died in 1991, this cousin started calling me and we created a custom of speaking on the phone once a week just as she and my mother had done. For a few years she talked about selling her condo and moving to be closer to me. I researched apartments and offered to come to NYC and help her pack and move. She made no moves to do anything, just talked about it. Her vision was failing and I thought she needed someone to be there for her. A few years ago, her health and energy level seemed to lag and one day she took herself to the hospital and when they released her, they sent her to a rehab/nursing home where she has been ever since. I have called her every day since she's been there and am able to find her awake most days. Our conversations have gotten shorter and sometimes she tells me that she's at a restaurant or a hotel or she'll ask about her husband or parents who died decades ago. There is nothing I can do for her legally or physically so I just call every day and she says she's happy to hear from me.

Carol/Peach: Prayers and energy going up for you.
Michele: Love the Pooh.
Allie: Happy dance! Glad to hear Michael got his karma cookie.
Ginger: Ditto what Michele asked: Where do you find the Choco made with monk fruit?
KareninVA: Thanks for sharing your photos and beautiful story.
Dr.Katie: Love the rug and the entire living room set up. Your hubby is a gem.
Sad news. Right now the schools in my area are in lockdown because the FBI is looking for an armed and dangerous person who has made credible threats. Helicopters circling and lots of cops and sheriff cars actively cruising our main streets. The anniversary of Columbine seems to be a trigger for this kind of activity. I feel for young families and their innocent kids who have to grow up wondering if their school is a safe place today.
Happy news. DH and I have a road trip booked that will take us to one of the most unique and modern cities in the west, and then circle home with a stop to see ancient cliff dwellings. More later.
Take care friends. We can do this.

Allie I am glad you missed that drama.
I hope your new employer makes you part of the hiring process on a new manager. He must have looked good on paper.
Did learn DS is now in the hospital where he needed to be four days ago. He was doing so well and his visit to hospital would have been much shorter. Now I am afraid it may be up to a month before he will be well enough to come home. Because of Hippa they can not tell us anything, I was able to tell them about his trauma. I did any patient needs to come in with a police officer to try have John elsewhere because seeing the police will most likely trigger him.
I had a great sub assignment I enjoyed spending time with some Kindergarten and I was able to get a third grade come out of his shell. I knew immediately he was traumatized. My trauma changes the way I handle children I know have severe trauma in their life.
I am down a few pounds since this started. I am working hard to eat healthy foods and very little sugar.

Margaret: Sorry to hear the legal solution did not work. I hope that shining light on this matter; whether by press, or letters of complaint, will help you son’s situation.
Auntiebk: Thanks for the welcome. Will update with info. shortly. New to social media, a little slo-mo in figuring it all out.2 -

I see I missed lots on my weekend away from the computer. Somehow I managed to stay below calorie goal, but I'm not sure how I did it. Things are crazy this week and next. My daughter has ballet stuff April 26-28. I'm chaperoning 3 rehearsals next week. I'm hoping running around the theater will make up for not getting to the gym.
Notre Dame still has me sad. I'm relieved to hear much was saved, but so much was lost. They still don't know the status of the organ. The pipes and console are there, but there could be heat and water damage that isn't visible yet. I just love old cathedrals.
Happy thoughts and inspiration for those here struggling with life and family issues, especially anybody dealing with mental health issues. It's a rough road with changes at every bend.

Hi Gals,
Allie – Great News about Michael!

Well, I guess I was wrong about the sleeping with part. Lol I am thankful for you that the nightmare is over.

Rori – I’m so sorry the schools are in lockdown. What do the people do who are not students? Can’t wait to hear more about your planned trip.
Ginger – I couldn’t believe it! The shipping for one bag of those chocolates is more than the chocolates themselves! At first I wouldn’t want to order a whole lot, what if I didn’t like them? How are they shipped? I would think that one bag could go in a padded envelope and the shipping wouldn’t be nearly as much.
Had Rummikub tonight.

Carol, thinking of you and look forward to hearing about your healing post surgery. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Margaret, so glad your son is in the hospital now and getting the help he needs. My younger sister deals with severe PTSD and is currently having a scary meltdown. We all deal with different challenges.
I saw a sign on a board outside a church years ago. It said,”If in doubt be kind”. Such a simple concept but what a difference a bit of kindness can make.

Oh Allie I’m happy for you! No Michael and more hours!! I’m also glad you didn’t have to witness the drama.
So sad about Notre Dame. Such a terrible thing!
I’m still here, just really busy working in the yard and spring cleaning.
Another severe storm coming tomorrow night! (Nooo!)
I’m still waiting to put up our new umbrella. (The 2nd one blew off and broke up.) my DH can’t understand why I leave them open but our dog likes shade too!
Have a good day or evening!

Carol - Sending best wishes for a FAST healing.
Rita - I am so impressed by your transformation. You are doing great! I bet you feel so much better.
Another night of blocked up nose. Grrrrrrrrrr! I did get some good sleep after 5.30 until 7.00. Go away cold! Luckily I have an interesting book to read, about running! That must be around my 25th book about running.
Must go for a run today.
Swing dancing was hilarious last night! DH felt better about it because no one could do the last moves. We all had a great laugh.
Amazed my knee is holding up. A few years ago there is no way I could have done any of this. By exercising my knee muscles every day I have strengthened it a lot, though I still have to baby it a bit. Had to spin on it last night!
Rori, hope they get it sorted.
Kim - how is your brother's health now?
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx3 -

Heather my friend Jean is an M&S fan, she is always getting bargains. She told us the jumper she was wearing on Saturday was in the sale and she got 90% off. I think she said she bought about 3 or 4 jumpers for less than £20. I'll have to go shopping with her
I was at the dentist yesterday for a check up, all is well I'm pleased to say, he told me to be careful with my back teeth and watch the tartar build up (I have deep pockets apparently) don't have to go back until October for my next 6 month check up.
Better get my exercise out of the way before I make the excuse that I haven't time!
