Carol - woke up thinking of you this morning, hope all goes very, very well!
Lisa in AR3 -
Good morning ladies~
Carol ~ blessings for a speedy recovery....
I wake up by body clock at 4:40 every morning... so I had my tea and watched joyce and will get Alfies food now and hop in the shower...
working 9-6 today I think.. will find out what kind of hours Dr Pandey will have me working now that Michael is gone.. it was effecting Mary and I the most as we had to work with him..but he would put treatment plans into patients charts for Full Mouth series , that weren't even due yet just to up the price..
things should calm down a bit now ,and here is hoping the next office manager is nothing like him...2 -
Allie my body clock does the same thing! You are doing great Allie, keep up the good work of taking care of yourself.
Another frenetic work day, still it is a rewarding profession, even when teaching feels hectic to me, I get these moments where it all seems to stand still and you're in awe of how the kids have grown, over the course of a season, a week and oh yes, the years when they return to see if you recognize them or stop in to tell you what they've been doing. Phew, I am ready for a break before the last sprint to June!
Today I am going to the gym after work and eating a gorgeous salad for lunch!
NYKAREN5 -
Carol Yes, agree with Lisa, hope this is a breeze for you! I know Janetr & Lisa have both had successful knee replacements & I'm sure there are others here who can cheer you on from an experienced perspective!
Allie It must feel much more peaceful to wake up and get ready for work now that Michael's bad energy is gone. I'm glad for you, your coworkers, and your patients.
Dr. Kate I like your rug choice! It is perfect for your living space. I'm not much of an interior decorator, but I appreciate that skill in others. Your husband was a gem about this. You may have dodged a bigger septic tank expense because you were proactive about the subtle burping signs.
Rori The young woman who is armed & dangerous seems to be elusive. This is so disruptive to people's ability to go about their business.
Margaret Thinking of you every day. I hope your son is getting better. Poor guy. I hope you have a support system for yourself. Being an advocate can be a thankless task.
Heather LOL! I'm glad your husband found others with two left feet at your complicated dance lesson.

Allie - I liked Rori's comment on Michael being handed a "karma cookie." Sounds about right. Hope that the next office manager is less disruptive. Can you apply for the job, perchance?
Busy end of week coming up. Headed to my town office today to print out folder packets for Friday's presentation, and in the hours between now and when I go in, finishing up the final touches on those packets. Traveling to Little Rock tomorrow and Friday, and already being booked into meetings while I'm there.
Next week, the hubs and I have tickets to Celtic Woman here in town on Tuesday, which is kind of cool (they were his Christmas present), but wish it wasn't on a weeknight. Then five hours' driving for a 15-minute presentation Thursday. The week after, traveling one last time for April. May should be... calmer. I hope.
Our daughter's getting quite excited to be here in September with the kids--and probably the dogs, which does not thrill my husband... Hopefully between now and then we can get fences ready for the massive German Shepherd she owns. I'll try to take some time off while they're here, am just waiting on her husband's and her orders to come in for the transfer to Fort Riley, Kansas, to get good dates. And the Army being the Army, they could end up going someplace completely different without much warning, so not holding my breath.
Eating's not been great--can't face protein at the moment after a year and a half of focusing on it, it's starting to make me gag at the thought, so just trying to keep calories within reason. Unfortunately, the carbs bring a ton of salt with them, which is keeping me all swelly.
This too will pass.
Welcome to the new ones, we're glad you're here! Join in the conversation where and as you feel drawn to do so, no worries about responding to us all.
Love y'all!

I’m very pleased with the finished living room. Now to get all of my decluttered objects - books, bookcases, some wall decor, file boxes, etc to the thrift store and out of the house.
Having a nice, clean, uncluttered space actually encourages good eating choices and makes me feel more in control. Plus, I’ve gone back to the gym and my back seems to be recovered.

Betsy so sorry about your younger sister. I am glad she has you as part of her support system.
I now know that PTSD is another layer for our son. Unfortunately I see it in schools all the time. I also see the trauma itself brings on more trauma and isolation. This is true for our son too.
For someone in Trauma helping them create a safe space within themselves is the best gift you can give them.
Maybe it is for the best I cannot bring forth a Civil Law suit. It puts me in a better position for advocating for a police program that First deescalates. Guns and tasers are only used as a last resort. Police officers must have PTSD too. They are more like soldiers than peace officers today.
Margaret6 -
Hi everyone,
Margaret-((big hugs)). What a nightmare for you. I hope everyone finds the help they need.
Ginger-PLEASE post pictures of baby goats!!! My husband and I are obsessed!
Rori-So many horrible things happened around this time of year-Oklahoma City, Columbine, Waco etc. It also happens to be my birthday on Sunday and sadly I always brace myself for what awful thing will happen this time. I really really hope Notre Dame was a construction accident....
Elizabeth GA5 -
Elizabeth turns out Notre-Dame was an accident due to renovation project.
I like to think whatever the reason the building is a symbol of the faith. The faith itself will survive whatever disasters are thrown at it. For me the flower I painted was my belief that even in the midst of horrible disasters I can find beauty. This is the theme of the film Life is Beautiful.
Also in the following poem:
I believe in the sun even when it is not shining;
I believe in love even when feeling it not;
I believe in God even when he is silent.
— An inscription on the wall of a cellar in Cologne where a number of Jews hid themselves for the entire duration of the war.
We sang a version of this poem in our choir.
Humbles me as I strive for healing in my own particular situation.
In Buddhism a woman comes to Buddha and begs for her son to be brought back to life. Budha replies bring me back a mustard seed from a home were no one is suffering first. She goes forth and home after home she finds how others are suffering. Through this experience she gains the knowledge of compassion.5 -
Nice list!

Still trying3

i'm already up to $330 on my MS donations! i've never gotten so much so quick and this is only the 2nd day!!7
-
Katie bug agree room evokes a feeling of calm. Wonderful!
Rebecca love the list.
I would add spend quality time with children. I did that yesterday. I still feel the little girl snuggling up against me. What a healing moment for me.
As I work through my trauma I am finding support in unexpected places. I also find it healing to do what I can do help someone else. Given my circumstances most are small things like helping that young boy get on task, taking the time to say hello to a child who is struggling emotionally and letting him know I am glad to see him, helping a Kindergarten teacher by reading with her students and helping make MAY DAY baskets with her students!
I have wonderful support. You all are part of that. Again I can not thank you enough!6 -
Carol- thinking if you and sending good wishes for you and your medical team.
Rori- my DD called this morning to say all the schools are closed due to the situation. Her son is a senior and only has a few more weeks of school so he was glad for a day off. It’s a sad situation.
Rita- you are doing a great job so proud of you.
Lisa-love the word swelly. That’s what I feel right now. DH had his orders changed the day the packers came to take our household goods from England to San Antonio. We went to Sacramento instead. We had friends who were going to Alaska and bought lots of warm clothes and after their possessions were gone the orders were chang d and they went to Guam.
Kay- love your living room. Everything just fits together.
My flowers are so beautiful but we are expecting hail and high winds. Plan to take a picture so I can remember how pretty they were.

Good morning ladies.
Can't believe it's already Wednesday. I'm gonna work a bit and hopefully have a 5-6 mile hike with hubby later. On Monday my 30 year old daughter finally hiked with me. It was lots of fun!
Doing well on my diet this week as far as calories go. Woke up in the middle of the night hungry but did not eat - mainly because I didn't want to affect my morning weigh in. Lol.
Lots of school districts are closed today due to a young woman who has made threats. I hope they can find her soon before she hurts anyone
Hope everyone has a great day!2 -
Rita: You are looking great! Congratulations!!! :flowerforyou:
Barbara: I hope Scooter improves quickly.
Bevtay01: Welcome to a great group! :flowerforyou:
Carol: I’m so sorry about the frustration with the BnL. I’m glad that your DH will not be stuck with responsibility in an impossible situation. :ohwell:
Allie: I’m happy that Michael is gone and the work place has a chance to be more pleasant. I hope the next person is a huge improvement.
Rori: Decades ago we had a school shooting in Oregon in the Springfield area. Since there was a shooting at a Community College. Nothing has been that horrible in the past few years. Thank goodness. While I was still teaching we had fire drills and we also had emergency lockdown drills. :ohwell: As a kid in elementary school in the 1950’s I remember bomb/air-raid drills where we had to hide under our desks away from windows.
Pip: I love the photo of you and Kirby in your MS Ride Tshirts. Thank you for what you do for this cause.
Carol: good luck with knee surgery. I’ve seen miracles in some of my neighbor’s lives who’ve had it done.
Dr Katie: Your living room is warm and inviting. Very nice!
Thanks for your sympathies regarding our neighbor. His sudden death is a reminder to live life fully. He certainly did.
I have made my friend who owns the stable very angry & don’t know what to do about it. I was supposed to participate in a work party at a local park with her and others, but DH had a bad spell and begged me to say home with him. I felt as though I had an impossible situation and that DH had to come first. I’m sorry that I couldn’t attend, and sorrier that she is mad. Any advice on repairing the friendship would be welcome.

Went to the water class today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Slim in Six DVD.
After exercise went to the Salvation Army then Big Lots to see if they have Vince’s bread. Then came home and made a cake for this gal at ceramics whose birthday is Monday.
Katie – your room looks fantastic and good for you going to the gym
Elizabeth – happy early birthday
Here’s a picture of my frog all finished. The stake is long because part of it will go in the ground. We just have to figure out a way to keep the stake from turning in the wind. That is a pinwheel below the frog on the stake. Any ideas on how to keep it from turning? The turtle that I was asking about something to put on his stomach is probably about the same size. You can see how I put "ribbit" on the frog's stomach

We love doing it! Thx3 -
Drumroll required! DH has bought a smartphone! It arrived today. Unfortunately he can't get a sim in it before next week as the O2 guru is on holiday, but he is trying to experiment with the Internet via wifi. It will be a steep learning curve and he doesn’t take well to advice. He really wants it so he can keep track of sports when he is away from home.
I NEVER thought I would see the day!
My cold is still a ×××××× nuisance and seems to get worse as the day progresses. I managed a very slow 5k after lunch, but went downhill from there. Did produce a Hairy Bikers chicken for dinner. Always delicious. Last night was a washout as far as sleep was concerned.
Edie is coming for her one to one tomorrow. We hope to go out to the beach café for lunch, so I have requested that her mum brings a sunhat. I know she will keep me to the promise of a comic and a visit to the art shop. Looking forward to seeing her on her own.

Rebecca--That's how we moved the last 2 times. Just a car load at a time and put it away as we went. By the time we were done looked like we had lived there awhile.
Margaret--Sorry to hear. I do hope you can do something Good to hear Michael is in the hospital and getting help.
Barbie--How nice of you to make the daily calls.
Allie--Happy to hear the problem is gone.
Rori--I heard about that and think it is so sad that kids have to be afriad when at school. We had a car jacking just outside of town acouple days ago. A mom and baby. She was able to get the baby out and run. It was a van with the key bob deal and it was in the bag when she ran so he only got about a mile down the road when the van stopped because was out of range. He took selfie pictures with her cell phone while in the van and was caught quickly.
Katiebug--I love the room with the rug. It looks like a good place to relax and enjoy life.
Katla--I would just explain about DH needing you and if she is a good friend she will understand. Things do come up.
Well turning out to be a nice day. Had some rain this morning, but sun is out now. I am hoping for a walk with the fur babies. Enjoy the day laides and we have this.
Blessings, Vicki GI NE3 -
Hi Ladies,
Just passing by quickly here....
Rita and Allie, you are such wonderful inspirations!! Rita - I think there's green cheese on Mars.... is that what you've been eating? lol.
Allie - so glad Michael is out the door. Whew. Would you want office manager job? Maybe more hours and responsibility than you want right now. Your DFIL has lived a long life, I'm amazed he's back eating after a several day lapse.
Ginger - your accountability posts have inspired me and now I've created a spreadsheet to log everything. I had one 20 years ago when I lost a lot of weight on WW, and it really kept me going. I still go back and look at it from time to time, reminds me I can do it if I put my mind to it.
Before I forget - I think my Fitbit One is on the way out. Hope not. I love it because I can hook it on my bra or jeans waistband. I don't do well with anything that goes around my wrist.... I wear a watch when I go to town then it comes right off when I get home. Looks like Fitbit makes a little one but has a battery that needs to be changed. Nope to that, lol. Does anyone have suggestions on good quality pedometers that have wifi?
Margaret - I'll bet the police chief would welcome your suggestions on how to better handle what your son went through. If not, then maybe his boss would. Your goal is to make it better next time if there is one, and for others who have similar situations.
Barbara AHMOD - sorry to hear about Scooter! Hopefully he's on the mend! Seizures in pupsters are scary for sure.
Barbie - you are such a sweetie to keep in contact with your mom's cousin. Reminds me of when I'd call my mom every Sunday morning, I knew she looked forward to it. Kind of broke my heart when she was unable to talk much and handed the phone to my dad, but it was good in that he and I developed a good relationship with weekly calls for a year or so before he passed.

I saw a sign on a board outside a church years ago. It said,”If in doubt be kind”. Such a simple concept but what a difference a bit of kindness can make.
Betsy in NW Washington
I'm also on a kind kick lately. Kindness is a lost art. The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, thankfulness, and self-control, "against such things there are no laws." One of my colleagues pointed out that 'being right' is not one of the fruits. So many times we exchange being right for being kind.

What a breath of fresh air coming in this morning..I was given an a official letter stating his termination for harrassment..and was swiftly taken care of..His father called today to speak with the Dr... I'm sure it didnt get far I'm sure..he was on a probationary period anyway so he cant sue,and if he did everything is documented..5

Allie, I am proud of you for speaking up. It speaks well of your employer for dealing with it quickly and appropriately.
Thank you for the compliments on my living room. We are slowly working on our whole house making it a calm, inviting, comfortable space, one project at a time as we get the cash saved. Next will be a garage makeover. It hasn’t been painted since we moved here in 1994. The ceiling is textured the same as the house, but the dampness has caused it to flake off in places, big chunks at a time. We’re going to get that scraped off altogether and redone, and the walls painted. Of course we will do a massive declutter and organization of our tools at that time. It will probably take 3 to 4 months to save back up, maybe longer if we have more things break.
I got my hair cut today. My hairdresser announced that she’s retiring in June to work with her husband. Man, I hate having to find a new one.
We did legs and back at the gym today. It was a great workout. I’m short on steps but I’m not going to sweat it. Sometimes weights are enough!
Heather, I got my husband a smart phone last year. I was explicitly told to get him a new flip phone but they were running a buy one get one free deal, so I disobeyed him. Now he loves it and wouldn’t want anything else.4 -
Checking in!

Allie, good grief! A 30 year old man needs his daddy to call his former employer because he got fired??? So glad for you and everyone else in the office that he is gone. Nobody needs that much negativity in their life.
Tracy in Edmonton, happy to hear that your hubby got called back to work earlier than expected! Still keeping good thoughts for you for a good job. Hopefully Jason Kenney will live up to his campaign promises of "jobs, jobs, jobs"! (my only political comment!)
So sad about Notre Dame Cathedral fire, happy that many treasures appear to have been saved and that it will be rebuilt. Also happy that it was a construction/renovation incident and not something more sinister.
Katie, the living room does look lovely, how nice that your hubby realized that you were sad about not having the money for the rug and opening up his savings to make the room complete. Chances are good he will also listen to you the next time you suggest the septic system is acting funny!
Heather, hope you start to feel better soon, one on one with Bea sounds like fun! How lovely that you are nice and close to the family and have the opportunity to spend time with the kids!
Lisa, can't remember if I said anything or not, but the quilt looks lovely. A lap quilt is just the right size too, nice to have something to throw over your legs on a cool afternoon or evening, I'm sure it will get a good price at your auction(sale?, sorry, the memory fails....)
Rebecca, the new house looks lovely and I did giggle about you telling DS that you would box up his Lego creations for him! lol So glad you were able to find something so quickly and close!
Official wi yesterday. Up the .2 of a pound that put me into a lower decade last week. I know exactly what happened, I fell face first into a bowl of easter chocolate. sigh. You'd think I'd know better by now, but, oh well, I did enjoy it! lol. I know I shouldn't buy it, but I am eating small amounts of it at one sitting, spreading it out over the week instead of inhaling it all at once, but still. Oh well, it will be gone soon enough and I will be eating normal again. I also have not made it to the gym yesterday or today. Yesterday I was kind of a slug, but did get some more plants for my garden, really didn't need anymore, but while I have lots of spring bulbs, I didn't have much in the way of summer flowers, so now I have lots of those too! Hubby and I were both surprised that I found space for them all, lol. At work today, so eating has to be relatively normal, although the boss does love to buy candies and cookies for the tenants and staff also. Trying to stay out of it.....
That's it for me for now. Wishing everyone a great day!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!
