Pip- I loved your "timeline" of pics with your longtime friend! So great to have someone you can goof around with!1

Good morning Ladies -
I love all the pics! So fun to keep up with what everyone is doing.
I'm headed to the dermatologist this morning. I have a mole/spot on my back that I feel like has changed. It may just be in my head, but I figure better safe than sorry so I should get it checked out. I was just there in October for my annual whole body check, so I am sure it is nothing, but still. I am also getting another laser hair removal session done on my underarms while I am there. This might be my last laser hair appt for a while. We are down to very few hairs left, yeah!!!
I have been in a funk for quite a while. My eating has been out of control and I have gained back enough that my pants are TIGHT and some of my dresses I don't like the way they look. I'm having to be selective when I pick out clothes instead of anything in the closet being fine. Yesterday I had a very good eating day (eating the way I want to). It is only one day, but it's a start.
Have a great week Ladies -

I can't stand not being able to breathe freely. I live on Mucinex nose spray when I am stuffy.
Machka- You, too, missy!^ Ditto what I said to Heather in regards to the cold! Hope you are on the mend. I love the photos you have been sharing. It seems every place you walk to or through is very beautiful and picturesque! Lucky you!
I would go onto a nose spray, but I did that back in 2012 and ended up on it for 3.5 years. I've been off it for 3 years now, and am very reluctant to start again. So, it's just cold medication, allergy medication, and lying on one side to take the pressure off the other side of my face (sinuses), then lying on the other side to take the pressure off the other side of my face (sinues) and back and forth.
Anyway, we went into the nearby city to Zambreros to have burritos, and I had mine with spicy verde sauce which helped clear out the sinuses a bit!
This island is beautiful! But then I think a lot of places are.
I took this when my husband and I cycled a couple days ago ...

M great pictures.
Lisa what a beautiful waterfall.
Painting group today. I decided I am going to send my rose painting I displayed here and on Facebook the day of Notre-Dame burning to my friend I travelled with in Paris. She is now a minister out east.2 -
I'm getting tired of having to log in every time I come to this page.
BnL was transferred from the nursing/rehab center to the hospital during the middle of the night and put in ICU.

Hi gals!
Machka: Drink, drink, drink. My doctor told me years ago, stay off the antihistamines, you need the mucous to flow freely to get the germs out. I will still cheat for a few days when it is really bad, but this advice did seem to shorten the time length. They also suggest using a cortisol nasal spray, but again only for a few days. Over the counter in Canada.
Grandmaillie: My Mom is in nursing home for Alzheimer’s. Not sure if this is your issue. But for caregivers dealing with this disease, check out Teepa Snow from North Carolina on YouTube. She has been a significant part of changing how we care for our loved ones up here. It’s helped the nurses, support workers and ourselves.
I’ve been on keto since Jan. Lost 27 lbs so far. Very bad osteoarthritis in the knees, due to an auto-immune disorder. Got PRP injections (platelet rich plasma) in October which was the catalyst for the weight loss. On the road to recovery. 🦉3 -

Elaine: Welcome! :flowerforyou:
KJ: Joaquin is the cutest little guy!!! Pictures are always welcome.
Machka: Have you got a humidifier? If so, put it beside your bed when you are trying to sleep. It can be a big help getting oxygen past the stuffy sinuses. Beautiful photo of the countryside. I can easily see why you love it. :flowerforyou:
(((Carol in GA))): Sending good thoughts for your DBIL.
Got a late-night call from our daughter. Easter was celebrated with the whole tribe at their home. It seems that some fun was had, but sadly, one guest got drunk and stepped on a baby duck and broke its leg. I wonder whether the duckling can survive. It seems like a real long shot. The relative who stepped on the duck has had a longtime struggle with alcohol. Her DH died from alcoholism several years ago and she seems headed down that path. They have two daughters. Poor girls have had a rough life thanks to their parent’s choices.
The Osprey’s are back and there are cheeping babies in the nests. They nest on top of pilings in the river. Spring is definitely here.

I think they are trying to kill me!! Bring on the pool

I arrived Las Vegas yesterday, too! DH and I drove 12 hours from Colorado to get here. We have both been here many times, and this time decided to spend three nights downtown adjacent to the Fremont experience. So fun, but loud and crazy, too. He has dementia, and the mental bandwidth of a 4-year old, so these days we are not too adventurous. Pool time, a unique museum (or 2), and good meals are the the agenda for today. Tomorrow? Tour of Hoover Dam? Will play it by ear. On Wednesday we'll head home via a different route. Hope you totally enjoy this unique western city.

Katla - Isn’t alcoholism a terrible disease. My best friends BIL is in hospital right now and not expected to make it due to alcoholism. He will leave behind two young adults and a young wife. It seems so sad to me when so many fight cancer and other illnesses to survive and these ones seem to kill themselves slowly.
Kelly - Joaquin is adorable. Your description of Wall-E is very accurate. I agree though that it is a beautifully made movie. I love your idea of a potluck Easter. My MIL always brings friends for big meals that would otherwise be alone. I have done it a lot too. My problem now is I don’t have room for it. My house is big enough for just the two of us, but when we add people it gets crowded fast.
Heather - I had to smile at your husband’s need for veg comment. My Dad was a meat, potato, veg man. Rarely did we have anything else for supper. My husband is not as strict. I remember one time talking to my Dad on the phone while making supper for my husband and I. I took the chicken I was planning on out of the fridge and it had turned bad. I said to Dad, “I guess Rodger is getting a sandwich tonight”. My Dad said, “Tracey Dawn, you can’t expect a man to work hard all day and come home to a sandwich!” I said, “Dad, Rodger sits on his a** behind a desk all day the exact same as me, I’m sure he’ll survive one night”. Rodger and I still say I’m abusing him if I make sandwiches.
Heather and Machka - I hope you both feel better soon!
Karen from BC - enjoy the trip!
Allie - I think the doctor knows you will do whatever you can to help out without sticking up for yourself much. I hope he soon realizes how valuable you are and starts showing that both in compliments and financially. Right now he seems to take it for granted.
Okie - I noticed last week when o had to put my dress pants on that they were a little snug. I need to get back in control too. I have a very expensive dress that fit me perfectly without any need of alterations that I need to wear in 70some days. I need to be mindful!
Carol - I have to do the same and it’s very annoying. I hope MFP fixes it soon. Sorry to hear about your BnL.
I had a wonderful day yesterday, Kaitlyn and Brodey came early and worked most of the day on an arch for the end of the aisle for their wedding. They are getting married outside and she wanted something that would block Brodey from seeing her before she starts down the aisle. He has made an arch with doors that will open and close. I’m excited to see the finished project.
The Grands loves their Easter gifts. Jonah is a boy of few words these days so I wasn’t entirely sure how much he liked it until his Dad arrived. He immediately got up from his game to put his hoodie on to show his Dad. He was pointing out the coloured buttons and the X button. Actions speak louder than words and I knew then it was a hit.
Today I need to go put some gas in the car, return some bottles and get some butter. Other than that I think I’ll start studying the links for the financial management job I am hoping to get.

Checking in. It’s a beautiful Monday in here in Northeast Georgia. Friday was eventful. My neck of the woods made the news for record flash flooding. Several bridges out and sinkholes causing roads to still be closed. One shopping center under water. A tree fell on a friend and her husband and their truck. She got out. He had to be rescued. They will be ok, but he’s having surgery on his leg and they are both sore. It wasn’t too bad at our house, but the road is closed further into our subdivision because of a sinkhole. Several of my friends had weeks of yard work ruined. Good thing we haven’t done any. Lol!
Easter was great. The grands came up to my parent’s farm to hide eggs. Then my nephew and son decided the children needed to go fishing and got the Jeep stuck in the pasture on the way back from the pond. They had to pull it out with a tractor. The kids thought that was a great adventure, bless their citified hearts. My nephew let my grandson, who is ten, drive his truck in the pasture, which horrified my daughter when she found out. My son-in-law not only allowed it, but took pictures! He sat in my nephew’s lap and my nephew helped him steer, so it really wasn’t that bad. Luckily, they didn’t get stuck, too. My mother tried to tell them all that the pasture was still too wet from the rain on Friday, but they didn't listen.
We did a total body circuit at the gym this morning. It was a great workout. I feel energized after days of feeling kind of blah. Hopefully it will last throughout the week, and I will make good choices when it comes to food.
Later,
K

My house looks like a monastery. Nothing on the walls. I like it! Naah, my voice is bouncing off them, like an echo!
Today I woke up and moaned and groaned about attending the gym. Poor husband is sometimes my voice of reason. He just says, nope, get in the gosh darn car woman! (Said in a humorous Scottish tone)! If it wasn't for him, I think I would be as big as a house....
On the way home, he wanted soda. I wanted everything in the bakery, but I settled on a packet of two cookies, two beef steak tomatoes, and two small avocados. I shall make a summer sandwich today!
I am dreading this move!
Everyone new, welcome! Love these ladies! I can whine, vent, and sometimes mentally strut around like a proud peacock! We don't judge, condemn, humiliate, or point fingers at. Sometimes I point but its because y'all are so amazing!
Sometimes we ask our Pip to give us "The Boot", because we need to get back on track and she has the boot for the job. 💖 I think its cuz she has strong toes from running in those shoes with the digit places.💖

✔️2. Fiber 25g. (27g)
✔️3. Track in MFP. Complete the entry daily.
✔️4. Exercise - log 30 Fitbit minutes (29 Active minutes).
✔5. No eating after 9pm.
✔6. In bed by midnight.
• Overall Feeling: Feeling Pretty Good Easter Sunday
• Exercise: No intentional exercise - just lots of movement. Up and down stairs a couple of times. I’m counting it. It helped move
• Eating deadline. I ate too much yesterday. Grazing on the Easter fare. But i tracked it. And i quit before 9pm.
• Bedtime-Sleep Hygiene. Melatonin at 9pm and off to bed before 10pm.
• Bright Spot today: My sweet Dad (92) calling my sister and I “Earth Angels” when we came to get him for the family gathering.
• Today I’m grateful for:
1. My Dad’s joyful smiles.
2. The new clothes I bought Dad fit him perfectly.
3. Being with my loving, supportive family. Dad looked around and asked me ‘did you make this happen?” He says that when he’s particularly pleased and feels he’s witnessing something delightful. Great grandkids swimming in the pool. Kids and grandkids gathered in bunches visiting. Hugs and kisses from everyone throughout the day.
4. The good night of early sleep. I was asleep by 11pm Saturday night and awake by 8pm. I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I fell asleep before midnight. And lately it’s been 4, 5 or 6am before I fell asleep.
5. KFC. Dad loves that chicken - so I got him some yesterday. He said “Bless you”.
I almost skipped this posting - feeling like a total failure for eating too much. But, when i reconstructed my day.... it wasn’t as bad as i thought. Back on track today,

Today first quiet day here at park in a long time! Easter was so busy, I couldn’t believe it. I had to work the pay booth for about 3 hours and never got to sit Down! On the one hand good for me, on the other.....
People in this part have a custom I never heard before coming to the Southwest, smashing Easter Eggs on your head! At least they use confetti filled eggs not raw or hard boiled! That tradition left an awful mess on the beach we had to clean up this morning. Lots of walking though so not all bad!
KETO still doing well. Cheated a little yesterday but I felt I deserved it after being good for so long!
Alie maybe KETO will help with your kidney numbers? Here’s hoping and praying for you!
I get my bloodwork results after 4 months on KETO Thursday. Can’t wait to compare!

Edited my letter and tried to stick to the important points
Rough draft to police chief:
I hope you too consider using the deescalating initiative that Minneapolis Police Department is starting in their department. I think they are beginning to realize too many police officers and civilians are getting injured and killed using the warrior training method.
After watching how my son's arrest( I will give where and when here do not want to publish it here) was handled I am in favor of the deescalating method.
Our son was being picked up on a warrant for missing a Mental Health Court date. Even though the Mental Health court had issued the warrant they were calling for police back up in a non emergency situation because they realized our son’s mental health was deteriorating. Their intention was not to arrest him but to get the medical help he needed.
If our son was threatening someone or destroying property I could see the police using the actions they took. He was asleep in his bed. The officers behavior aggravated the situation. I witnessed son repeatedly asking why he was being arrested. When the charges were read to him in court the judge issued a rule 20 meaning he is incapable on understanding the charges brought. What I do not understand is why he was not taken to the hospital for evaluation and place an officer outside his door because of the warrant. Instead he was taken to jail where his mental state only disintegrated further.
When things escalated to the degree I witnessed I worried an officer and our son would get hurt. Our son was hurt. He was tased twice. Our son lashed out at the officers because he felt threatened. Our son was traumatized by this experience. I ask you to review what happened not to issue any apology or reprimand to any one rather to figure out if there are other ways this to address this problem.
I am putting my take on what happened so hopefully finding better options will be found that will lead to a better outcome for everyone meaning the police, our son, and society as a whole. This is a goal I believe we can all agree.
This is my rough draft to the Police Chief. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Margaret1 -
Snowflake: I agree that alcoholism is a terrible disease. My heart aches for all who have felt it’s long shadow through the actions of friends and/or family members.
K: I am so sorry to hear about the flash flooding on Friday. I’m glad your friends survived it.
Margaret: I think you’ve done a great job with your letter. I hope the police accept it and respond in a good way. They need better training and better judgement.
I found little bitty black bugs in my kitchen window again and took some of them to the county extension agent. It turns out that they hatch from a larvae that eats wool—and have been working on my beautiful Persian wool rugs. I’ve sprayed the rug backing with pyrethrin insecticide spray that kills the larvae. I hope it does the job of protecting the rugs.

Not much excitement in my world today (thank goodness). Big victory was I actually accomplished everything on my list at work today (very seldom happens due to interruptions and other fires to put out).
Alcoholism is indeed very deadly. I held my sister-in-law in my arms when she died from it. She was such a wonderful person who just couldn't stop.
Realized when reviewing exercise that I have walked on treadmill every morning for the last 14 days for at least 20 minutes--that really seems to get my day off to a good start. When I can, I also walk 30 minutes on my lunch hour (meetings sometimes get in the way of that). I did 29 minutes this am and it was so beautiful outside that I took a walk around the neighborhood for 50 minutes before dinner. Did stretches and my light weight exercises. Long story short, I am ending my day with 15,500 steps and 6.5 miles. I really feel better with movement. More importantly, it feels good to take care of myself. Hopefully I will be at my goal weight by 65th birthday in November (that will be a great present!). Currently at 156 with a current goal of 145, but may see how my body feels there and if a further drop is sensible (I'm 5'6").
Going to set up coffee and get some sleep. Need to try for longer walk in morning since I will be at an all day meeting which will make movement of any kind almost impossible!

Carol and Tracey, I thought it was just me having to sign in to get to this group. I get the message that I don’t have permission to enter. Sometimes takes me two or three times before I can open this community. It’s been going on for me over a week.
Tracey, I love your clever sweatshirts and the tray you made.
Joaquin’s picture just made me smile. What a gorgeous child.
Margaret, great letter....think the facts clear and presented in a non threatening way.
Kayla hope your Persian rugs are safe.
Rita, will be interesting to see what your blood work looks like. Great job on your Keto weight loss.
Greetings to all new people and health good wishes to all dealing with bugs. Lots of spring colds and bugs hitting our area. I’m enjoying spring and enjoy walking in the rain with Ella. Everything smells so fresh.

The nurses out there: Vince’s sinuses (we think) are bothering him. However, many many times he sniffles IN and I try to tell him that he should blow his nose because the bacteria go back into his throat. He tells me that it doesn’t do anything in his stomach. I told him “no, in your throat”. Personally, I think it probably does do something in the stomach. Anyway, he told Jess that he was going to go to the MD since it’s been going on so long. Are there any other medical facts that I can bring up to him?
Now Vince is just sitting at the counter sniffing IN. He really should have a tissue near him. Honestly, in a sense, it’s sickening. That’s what might very well have caused him to not feel good yesterday morning.
Last night my ankles were SO swollen. I know it’s because I had ham Sat. and Sun and ham is loaded with sodium. Also, I had some mac & cheese yesterday. Now I’m paying for it. My weight today was up on the Wii but I know it’ll come down. I couldn’t get over how thirsty I was last night, now I understand. This has happened before, I should have known.
KJ -What an adorable bunny! When our friend’s invited us to their house yesterday, that’s when I realized that they really didn’t have any plans for Easter. I saw on facebook that other friends went out to dinner. I’m wondering if next year we shouldn’t all just get together. Maybe we should send out an invite to any Newcomer who’d like to to come to my house for dinner.
Lisa – love your analogy of weight to relatives
Okie – sure hope that mole hasn’t changed and it’s just your imagination. Please let us know what the MD says
Carol – what happened to BIL that he had to go into ICU?
Looks like I’ll be picking up at ceramics Monday. Went and played mahjongg tonight. Tomorrow supposed to count at the church. I’ll probably go a bit early as I would like to get this done asap. The plan is to do more opening the pool then cut the grass.

Love the quote you shared.....The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT. Very true words. It is pretty easy for me to lose sight of the BIG goal. Being more mindful of my mindset has been my goal this month. Recognize triggers. Work through those and stop the negative talk I usually tell myself.
My April is full of 5 birthdays and two anniversaries in my family! So it is a busy month of celebrations and most wrap around food and celebration desserts. I decided not to beat myself up. Overall I kept myself reeled in, but I enjoyed my birthday cake and had some nice meals out with family. I didn't track, just ate what was fun and enjoyed it. I gained two pounds in two weeks, then after those weeks, I climbed back on the wagon and lost those two pounds. So this month, so far, I didn't make progress on the scale per se, but I still feel like I made progress. Why? Because I climbed back on the wagon! I gave myself license to enjoy my family, food and fun without the guilt. I didn't feel like I was cheating myself, or that I should be disappointed in myself, but rather gave myself permission to enjoy it. I went into it with an end date, for when the party would stop and I would stay within my previous goals.
I have tried to be mindful of my self talk. Instead of using words like limit, I use goal. Instead of restriction, I think of self control. Instead of working out, its finding joy in my body moving and feeling good and strong. Over the years I have beat myself down with a lot of negative rhetoric. I am working at changing that to focus on the positive voice.
Ultimately, I am proud of myself. I have overcome the little devil on my shoulder crying "you deserve that go ahead eat it" "who cares" "give up" "You're the age now where no one really expects you to look good" "You're not 30 anymore, why care" I could go on forever with the negatives I have conditioned myself with over the years. Learning to replace them with some positive words..... I'm slowly learning to be kind to myself.
One day at a time! Lifestyle changes to be made. Staying strong!

Morning, afternoon and evening, all,
Busy few days coming up. Celtic Woman concert tonight (which reminds me, I need to print the tickets), and tomorrow is my in-town work day, plus I need to take a few deviled eggs with me - it's a kind of competition for All-Staff meeting and national picnic day. Then a three-hour drive up-country to Boone County for a presentation on Thursday (which I also need to get prepped today, as I can print out the information tomorrow at work). Friday is a two-hour meeting on a federal grant budget which is insanely complicated. Busy week.
Yesterday's meeting was not one of my favorites--sometimes you have to explain to managers that small grants are just not rational to apply for. When at most you may get a few thousand dollars, and your costs to supply the program that you're applying to fund are on the order of ten times that or more, it's time to look at it very carefully. Managers tend to look at it as free money, but there's a cost associated with everything. There also seems to be an inverse correlation - the smallest grants want the most complex applications and reporting, and vice versa. Oh well.
Time to get moving... have a good Tuesday, all, or hope it was good for those who are watching the sun go down.
Love y'all!

Heather could it be allergies? Sorry you're still sick.
Lanette ditto Tracey's wish that you're able to confound the Dr's prediction.

Michele you really make me miss my wii. Gonna have to either buy a "new" used one or find out if the new versions are backwards compatible with my balance board.
KJ love the Joaquin bunny, hard to be so far away.
Lisa 3 pounds for 3 days of no gluten and sugar? Dang that's evidence that's hard to ignore. Planted 65 bulbs? Oof!
Machka another sinus helper is to stand in a hot shower for many minutes several times a day. "spicy ... sauce... helped clear out the sinuses" Ah yes! Fond memory of flying to England with bronchitis, getting caught in a summer storm in Brighton, eating THE VERY BEST curry I've ever had and ... Presto Changeo! No more Bronchitis!
Carol, prayers for your BnL but most of all for your DH and you.
Kay Sinkholes and trees falling on friends-in-car? :ohno: Hope the surgery is successful.
Rebecca, summer sandwich and two small cookies instead of everything in the bakery? Well done!
Ginger so glad you posted. Many times our brains tell us we've totally failed, when in reality it wasn't so bad. It's hard to get in that much fiber with so few carbs. I think you did great for not giving into that "catastrophic thinking." re: the Snatch Grabber Joe doesn't seem to mind reaching things for me when he's handy, but I'm not patient or willing to go find him just to get something from a high shelf. Nor am I willing to stand on a chair as I used to do, my fear of falling is too strong.
Okie, Tracey and others who've noticed a bit of slippage, count me in. Sunday WAY over indulged and not for the first this month. Today was better, many bonus calories burned in the yard. Felt good to work so hard and eat well. Tomorrow will be even better.
Katla little black bugs, eeuw! Hope your Persian wool rugs weren't damaged.
Allie know that hospice decision was a hard one, but you're right, it's important to get comfort care in place.
Carol, Tracey, Betsy and those having to log back in to get to this page, are you on phones or pcs? If pc's, try logging out from MFP, clearing browser history cache, then logging back in. Me, I always uncheck the "remember me" every time so I login once per session, just for security's sake.
Annie from Idaho shifting that little devil on your shoulder to a positive angel is key. Well done!

Totoro tree down. Joe worked all day helping tree guys move branches to the burn pile, while I walked Tumble, rolled 15 slices of tree trunks up the hill and boy, those suckers are heavy. We'll use them for garden path "stones". Then it was like I couldn't stop, wandered around the garden, grabbed the shovel, and prepped 5 holes into which I'll plant potatoes tomorrow.
Speaking of Joe getting more active, he's also changing his food habits. He used to breakfast on half a pound of bacon, half a roll of sausage, grits, biscuits or fried potatoes and half a dozen eggs. This is what he made himself for breakfast today:
So proud of him!

Good morning Ladies -
Sorry, I forgot to update again yesterday after my appt with the Dermatologist. It is all clear. She told me what type of mole it is, but I can't remember. It is normal for it to itch at times. It is also normal for it to get what I would describe as flakey. She said moisturizer would help. They can freeze it if it becomes too bothersome.
Have a great day!
