Dom, dom DOMinoes . . .This is why I hate cleaning, decluttering, organizing. Anything I touch triggers a cascade from which there is no escape.Karen in VA Cashmere Bouguet and tears, scent is such a powerful emotional trigger. 130 mph in a Yellow Ferrari, you have one lucky grandson!
Yesterday dragged weights and Bosu out of the corner so could roll ficus out for transplanting. My Texas Hill Country cousin sent this when Mama passed in 1995. It survived moving from California to Idaho in '97, then to Oregon in '18. It's rarely watered, never fed, and has only been transplanted once before, how does it survive? To make room for bigger pot, shifted yoga props bookcase and mirror a few inches, but rolltop too heavy, forget it. Move palm, too close to meditation candle, shift to other side of buffet, ugh, get dust rag and get busy, shove palm toward window, eeek inhabited spiderweb! Vacuum crevice tool, tie back drape to maximize light, squeeze pot into corner, uh oh, what to do with the weights and Bosu? Last time I tried SWSY with ankle weights, couldn't lift my legs. Removed one bag from each, store bags in box, shove box into corner. Incorporate hand weights into yoga prop book case. Will NEVER use the mega leg weight so find the missing weight bars and donate. Whoops, two still missing, pull dumbbell box back out and store the leg weight there till the missing bars show up (right). Oops forgot to put the desk lamp back, roll tree back out? No way. Squidge the lamp in, thread the cord around tree, squeeze between tree and desk to plug it in. Tip Bosu up against wall in meditation area.
Proud of getting the weights into the yoga prop bookcase, stashing the heavier dumbbells between the rolltop and the wall, moving the ficus back to the window.
Deeply ashamed of everything else. This is my office/dance practice/meditation/workout/music/craft room. Do NOT ask to see behind the closet doors. Minimalists beware, the video will give you the heebie jeebies.

It's 9:54 and I'm hot, sweaty, dusty, still in my bathrobe with hair uncombed and teeth unbrushed. Is it too early for a glass of wine in the hot tub?
Katla Whew for the good news about Arrow.
Barbie "... now I have to bring some (rocks) back..." Isn't that just the way it goes?
Kim I'm with your mom about sardines, but Joe loves 'em. Rough cuts and scatters over rice and veggies. Good lean protein and calcium source. The dogs love 'em too! Sinky kisses, blecch.
Machka my nose runs too when I walk briskly. What the heck is with that?
Lisa did your son say why the change in majors? IMHO bio sciences have a better work forecast... but maybe there was a yuck factor? Egg must be related to Petronius the Arbiter in Heinlein's Door into Summer. One of my favorite books, the Roman Petronius not so much.
Amber that Spring Cleaning checklist makes me soooo grateful it's summer
Heather I'm with you on not liking myself when I envy someone else's accomplishment. IF I can channel the envy into self butt-kicking to work on what I've procrastinated, I start to feel better. But sometimes it's just a vicious cycle down into the dumps. ((hugs))
Only through page 50 but my eating window just opened and I'm HUNGRY!
Lighter, lovelies!

Tips - Shredded Chicken for recipes can add fajita seasoning to well any for any recipes even to add to soups.
After boiling, baking, broiled, crockpot, steamer, etc on cooking methods when you first take it out take 2 Forks 🍴 Pull 2 Directions .It’s that simple also good for freezer meals to reheat later or add to recipes.
Kate- It’s Gorgeous!!!
RV Rita way to go on the shirts!!!
Bears 🐻- Some people hire a 2nd trash service if they can afford it to come out in between their main services to do a pick up or a trip to the dump in between.Every one here’s tried special sprays to cans not much else left other than this last resort...even then you have to find a service who will come out in between not the same day as the main one! I had to have 2 along time ago due to so many kids y living near wildlife. I payed extra dues for my Saturday HOA trash dump so drove with 2 bags in the back of my car truck.Had a guy come by once a week think it was Tuesday or Thursday. Then if need be a ride to the dump $15 a pop to dump a few bags. Trash was litterely our main bill next to water y electricity. I found the cheapest ways! The trash guy little truck with a big cage back fired as it drove up lol 😂 guess I needed to pay him more to get that thing fixed!
Lol I spring Clean every 3 months each season.Lol but calling it by any other name than spring gets confusing lol

Thanks for the info on the hospital story. I forwarded it to kirby 2 c if he knew1

Just dropping in to share a photo of our houseguests. They are here for three weeks. It's very sad, because they are not well socialized and have a TINY cage. I ordered a new cage for them (much more appropriate size for 2 guinea pigs), and it will be here in a couple days. I hope the owners will accept it as a gift when they are back from holidays.

Carol your dress is gorgeous and looks terrific on you. Almost ALMOST makes me want to sew again. I've done so in years.
Rita, wowzers girlfriend. You look terrific, what a tremendous NSV !
Love you my friends,

Amber - thanks! Guess I was too tired for the extra step of defrosting
Karen- the funeral went very well thanks. 81 people showed up, mostly my parents friends who never knew my brother, but it was excellent for my parents. One of my cousins had taped an improvisation on the piano for the funeral. There was a reception at the church afterwards, with cousins and friends. My mother said the service was perfect. My sister went back home to Tennessee after a good visit.
I really love the overnight oats. I make it with pea protein powder. It comes out cold and creamy yet very filling.2 -
Annie
Glad the funeral went well. Glad for your mother, too.
Does pea protein taste like peas?

Walked home to garner extra calories. I've totalled 850 burn today and needed every one.
My DDIL is going to be on Breakfast TV on Thursday, BBC One. Apparently they heard her on Woman's Hour and want her for the TV. It's in Manchester, so she has got to go up the night before to be there first thing in the morning.
I am really happy for her and will watch, but I really wanted this for myself when my memoir came out and fantasised about it. I felt sure it would happen as I felt mine was an important and current story.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Yes, Barbara, I don't like myself.
It is all hands to the pump this week with the other grandparents arriving tomorrow morning and the old nanny coming back on Wednesday for a couple of days. What a very difficult organising job.
DDIL is taking August off.
Love from a very envious Heather in the UK., (It is going to be very hot this week.)

From reading the reviews, plain pea protein does taste vaguely like peas. But I use a vanilla flavored brand from Bob's Red Mill which tastes good to me. It's sweetened with monkfruit.3

Happy Monday from cooler Nebraska. This 70's I enjoy. Yesterday we went to Kansas to see DH's sister and I was so upset. They are not following the hospice nurse and she is so weak and confused. It's not going to be an easy death and the family is believing she will get better. I feel so bad for DH but done all we can. I did call the hospice nurse this morning and ask what they can do. Please keep them in prayer.
Shop says our car should be done Thursday or Friday. It has been 3 weeks today. Guess once they opened the hood they found a lot more damage and part of the deer. I could of done without hearing that.

Pip: I didn’t know that Kirby is a Pharmacy Tech at a hospital. My childhood neighbor’s dad was also a pharmacy tech. I hold the profession in high regard.
Kate UK: Lovely dress!
Rita: Congratulations on your new clothing size! 8/9 is awesome!!! :flowerforyou:
I have picked and blanched a bunch of beans today and they’re in the freezer at this very minute. I freeze them flat on waxed butcher paper. When they’re frozen I’ll put them in freezer bags. Blueberries are coming next.

Just got a call ftom Customer Care at Tesco, the big supermarket where I bought the cheese that caused my allergic reaction and emergency ambulance admission.
They are having difficulty tracing the complaint. The manager of the store is going to call me tomorrow. I am not looking for compensation, but I want to know the result of the testing of the cheese I returned to the store and I want to protect further customers.
I do know, from my own Internet research that the rind is sprayed with histamines and a uni in the USA is using it in their research because it is so high in histamines. The labelling on the back which says the rind is not edible is far too small. I just wonder whether mine was a rogue batch with a gun ho sprayer!
Anyway, it's good they are now paying attention after my emails.

Lordy, Mercy - some in May, relly high in June, July; read the first page then jumped to the end. Our sweet DnL (in Louisiana) got very sick on their way back home from the beach. Stopped at Convenient Care and told Will she needed to be taken to the ER at the hospital in Baton Rouge where they pumped her full of antibiotics to clear the infection up; they did surgery this AM and Will was waiting for her to get out of surgery and will call with more details. Last time Will talked to his Dad earlier this. He told him all he knew. Said it was a ruptured cyst on her one of her ovaries.
Trey and Jenn went on a cruise today with a couple that they're best couple friends. Looks like they might not have good weather, and they might not be able to get off the ship if there are riots in the ports where they are supposed to visit.
Louis and I and our fur babies are all doing great. I worked in my studio again today without A/C - Could not get to it to turn it on. We let Cracker in several times after she had been out to exercise. Tux just finds a cool spot on the carport.
Hi to all, keeping you in mind.

Thanks for the comments on my NSV ladies.
Do any of you remember the “pinch an inch” add campaign? I’m working towards that but not by eating Special K lol.
Funny how in 2010 a company promoting a sugary snack tried to disclaim the pinch an inch:
Seems like our bodies belong to add companies and conflicting info through media confuses everyone! No wonder the obesity rate worldwide is climbing!
RV Rita2 -
RV Rita - Lol we started Special K because it was better than what we were on lol 😂. I like the different flavors. Will call it SK while I type lol 😂.
Pinch an Inch I forgot how ridiculous commercials were ...oh they still are NVM lol
.My tummy more a pinch a few feet my butt too lol.Having kids have made my feet disappear permanently lol. Even after loosing 28.6 lbs so far the weight coming off everywhere but my tummy y butt. Lol maybe it’s genetics 🧬 going to blame genetics 🧬 let me float down that river of denial or is it the Nile. Yes that’s my stomach weird shape but it’s a stomach.
SK vanilla almond, cinnamon pecan, chocolatey Delight , Red Berries (strawberry) 140,150,160,170cal we got 1 of each calorie. Red Berries is the 140calorie but the others taste better. Amber Tx1 -
Katla - what a lovely surprise! I used to go to the demolition derby’s all the time when I was younger and before we moved to Alberta. What great memories.
Kate - Love the dress!
Rita - you look amazing! That must feel so nice! Hope you get things fixed soon though!

Barbara, welcome back! Does AHMOD stand for something? I can’t remember.
I’ve used my 3-qt Instant Pot every night since getting it. First night: corn on cob, excellent, best ever.
Second night: smoked sausage, cabbage, potato and onion. Ok. DH thought it was excellent. I prefer that dish stir fried in a skillet.
Third night: white rice. I liked it, although I’m not really supposed to be eating white rice. I thought it was better than rice cooker white rice. DH did not like it. He much prefers the rice cooker version. They are definitely different textures. I’m looking forward to trying brown rice in it.
Fourth night (tonight): quinoa with chopped celery, carrots, onions, and Kale. I liked it, but it needed something. I used chicken broth for the liquid. Although I only cooked it for 1 minute at high pressure then let it sit fir 10 minutes while the pressure released naturally, it seemed a little over cooked. DH refused to try it. I’ll eat the leftover for lunch over the next few days. It made quite a bit. It wasn’t bad, just not super yummy.
Have yet to try the hard boiled eggs. Maybe tomorrow.
I also made “ice cream” tonight by mixing frozen banana and strawberries in the food processor. It was good, cold, sweet, satisfying, but a far cry from ice cream. I’ll be trying some variations over the next week. I think I’ll like the versions with a little coconut milk better. If it keeps me out of Dave’s pub mix and candy, I’ll be happy.5
