Hello All: Good day today got my grocery shopping done for the week. Lots of walking tomorrow as DD and I are going to Ikea to pick up some things for the cabin. We are hoping to be done with it and start advertising in December and rent starting in January. we are targeting traveling nurses, PTs etc. My cousin who was a traveling nurse for quite some time says it is perfect. I'm not sure about that but I think it will be comfortable and should bring in some needed income.
Annie - Yay for 2 days without cookies!
KJ - Hope your day improved and you have a wonderful weekend.
Love the critter pictures!
Rebecca - That is the cutest picture of Athena, love it. Hope you are feeling happier soon.
Barbara - Congrats on the new pup. Looks like a good one.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA2 -

Hi OregonMom! My son lives out there and I LOVE it! Visiting in a few months [again] and cannot wait! BTW- spiders are amazing architects
I agree! I am a huge spider fan. Well, I don't mean a fan of huge spiders, but a huge fan of spider of all sizes.

You'd love Australia then!!
I don't mind spiders ... but I do have a couple rules: not in the bedroom and not on me!

Happy National Cappuccino Day!
"Traditionally prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed milk foam, a cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink. The word cappuccino comes from the Capuchin friars and is the diminutive form of cappuccio in Italian, meaning hood or something that covers the head. This popular coffee beverage got its name not from the hood on their habits but from the color of the hooded robes that the friars wore."
Karen - "The Source" was my first Michener book too. It was a pretty big place to start!
Viv - It looks like your kitchen is coming right along. I'll bet you're ready to have it finished.
Heather - Ooh, your chicken, lentil, spinach and pea curry sounds delicious! I'm going to keep an eye out for that recipe. So far my favorite thing to make in the instant pot is butter chicken but I've been sitting on a chicken tikka masala recipe I want to try.
Philip came to the gym with me today, and I really felt like I made the right decision about pushing my second workout to Friday. In fact, I think we're going to try to make our workouts Tuesdays and Fridays since that gives us more recovery time in between strength training and spaces the workouts better in the week.
It's cold out again... wish I had a cappuccino right now!

I taught a new dance to my line dance class today. When I told them we were doing something new, there was a lot of groaning and by the time I went over it and we danced it twice, there was applause and lots of people told me they liked the dance. We always have fun in class.
Jake went out for coffee with a friend this afternoon so I had some very rare and very much enjoyed time in the house by myself. I am always more tired on Friday afternoons because of getting up early to get in the two hours of dog walking before going to line dance class Thursday and Friday mornings. On Saturday mornings I feel a sense of great freedom because I can sleep a little later and walk as long as I want.

Hi everyone. Just did all my additions on my fitness pal and have gone over like 30 calories and that is WITHOUT dinner. Guess I will be drinking water until bed. Tomorrow is weigh in day. It seems like we get 4 pages every day from readers.6

Hi Gals,
Rebecca – the picture of Athena is priceless!
Janetr - sending hugs!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa – hope you feel better soon, and
Lisa and Cory – my thoughts are with you, for great memories, and peace for all.
Well so my goal was no baked goodies, chocolate or ice cream for a week, and it’s been 6 days, and I only had one small homemade cookie – that I savored. A few days were harder than others, but I think it was what I needed to prove to myself again, that I can do it. And I do think it has helped the yeast issues, although I think I need to do this for a month or more to be sure. So Sunday morning I am going to start logging again, and may pick up this frozen juice bar that I had found when I first started MFP that was not full of things I could not pronounce, yet was low enough in calories and yet creamy and sweet enough to fulfill the craving – however I do not remember the name so I’ll be reading boxes in the frozen dessert aisle

Michele - you mentioned Canadian Thanksgiving being in October and wondering if it got buried under Halloween. From what I see on TV about American Thanksgiving, Canadian doesn’t come close to comparing. In my immediate circle, family and friends, it is a nice turkey dinner and that is about it. I am a little envious of your Thanksgiving. In my house we never did much for Halloween so it didn’t get left out. I’m sure it does in some houses though. I love your Pigpen.
Heather and Lanette - I really enjoyed your lists of habits and things to do to stay healthier.
I need to log and weigh daily to keep myself aware of how I am doing. I think that’s the only thing that has helped me not gain all 25lbs back, I have gained back 15 at the peak and now closer to 10.
Allie - I need your email so I can send you my resume.
Lanette - lack of sunshine in my part of the world for the last 14 months has had a detrimental effect on everyone. We have had a terrible year weather wise. I am hoping this is a very short mild winter.
Lisa - sorry for the loss of Cory’s brother.
Rebecca - Athena is beautiful.
My new boss has ordered 160 Christmas ornaments from my husband and I to give as gifts for the staff. We have our work cut out for us to get these all done, but it will be worth it.

Over on calories by 250 hubby brought home McDonald’s y stayed home to watch a movie after JR cried got mad started shunning Daddy for going to work y to get more NyQuil.2yr olds mind is hard to change. When he said didn’t go to work came home for you. JR said I’m Mad 😠 shunned him again. So I hid the NyQuil said he didn’t even got mommy medicine!
JR said “Now that’s FUNNY 😄 !” Giggled played with Daddy said you get me fries 🍟 McDonald’s! No for mommy ! Hugged Daddy.
He just needed to know he was Daddy’s #1.
Of course Hubby got me something but a small child sized fries 🍟 is still 250cal! Uggghh I shouldn’t have.

First snow fall of the season and now it's 17 degrees. I did my daily walk even so. Spent the afternoon/evening feeding wood into the stove. It's so cozy and peaceful.

Hoping to get more active this weekend again ... the medication I was on for the spider bite was supposed to give me energy (that was a side effect), instead I just felt dizzy and blech by the time I got home from work.
It's done now and bite is fading.
I'm planning to spray the bedroom with bug spray on Saturday morning. We're going out for a couple hours so I figure that's a good time to do it. I don't like being there right after I've sprayed.
Machka in Oz
Turns out that the medication may have given me a little bit more energy. I was going to bed at about 1 am for the past 3 nights, and getting about 6:45 of sleep each night. Today is my first day off the medication and by about 3 pm, I was fighting sleep. I'm home now and ready to nap, but I'll stay up a bit. If I nap now, I won't sleep tonight.
And I want to work on my website.
M in Oz
I slept 12 hours last night!! Still draggy today.
That medication has been a roller coaster!
Hoping to feel a bit back to normal tomorrow.

Rebecca, oh my heart, that Athena...... What a beauty! Her daddy is going to have to keep a big stick by the front door to keep the boys away!
Lisa, so sorry to hear about Corey's brother passing. Hope you are feeling better soon!
Lanette, gorgeous photo of Ellie and Sophie!
That's all I can remember for now, still catching up too!
Eating plan has fell completely off the rails today, but tomorrow is another day!
Congrats to those celebrating, hugs to those needing them and welcome to the newbies!

Morning! I’m enjoying first cup of coffee and a catch up with you all
Rori sounds like a fun lunch with your neighbor. My DOS sister adores Cheesecake Factory—the portion sizes are nutso! When I go with her, I do the same thing—skinny menu and small plates—and we split a slice —she cannot resist that cheese cake
Barbie I love your description of your line class at first being reluctant to learn the new dance but afterwards felt so Excited. You are a great teacher encouraging them through their reluctance. Love it.
Should be a god prep day for me, treadmill time and cleaning day for me.

Slowly easing into the day. Went to bed early and got a good night's sleep-that stupid hour time change always messes with me. Planning on enjoying three day weekend. Youngest son and gf are coming over for the day to celebrate my birthday-we are simply hanging out and watching Ohio State at noon and LSU-Alabama at 3:30. May not sound like much to many, but we enjoy football and it will be nice to have the company. I'm making pork and sauerkraut for lunch (then Jake and I have left overs to start meal prep for the week), and we may do a dinner of pizza and wings if we are hungry for the later game. May make it tough on calories for the day, but I am in deficit for the week so I don't think it will sabotage me!
Have a good Saturday-want to get the laundry done and house cleaned up before I sit around like a sloth for the rest of the day!

Welcome ovrjoyd4u1940, changeisnoww!
Lanette, thankful it was just fleas and not allergies. Reminds me of the Corrie Ten Boom story read to us in church awhile ago... Ellie and Sophie
Carol, “loves” new playmate... hmm, not quite yet. Tolerates is about as strongly as I'd put it … but she lets the puppy sleep right next to her so that's a really good sign.
Flea “huge spider fan” [shudder] :noway:
Michele thanks. We've had both shelters and purebreds. Sometimes you just fall in love with a breed and want that kind of puppy. We love them all, the hardest rescues end up being the ones you miss most when they're gone, like Dixie, the Wheaten in my profile pic.
Rebecca that expression on Athena's face, what a little Lolita! Hope your son has a closetfull of BIG baseball bats.
Sue in WA say Hi to Ikea for me. I've never been near one, probably a good thing...
Tracey “lack of sunshine” for 14 months? It's a miracle you all haven't gone mad and invaded Los Angeles!
Shirley brava for getting your walk in despite the cold and snow! When the rains start here I'll try to channel you as well as Barbie.
There were more I wanted to respond to but I'm bushed.
Shadow updateShe brings us such joy and exhaustion. This am went to BB&B, Freddies and the Mini Pet Mart for puppy chow, while Joe puppy sat. Walked Tumble to the mailbox/pavement while Joe walked Shadow down the drive to the lane and back. Shadow's spay incision was a little open when we got her, they said she'd chewed off her stitches but was ok to go. While rubbing her tummy, noticed it didn't look right, deep red below the sides of the cut. Called in and was told the shelter vet would look at it when we brought her in on the 16th for her next vaccinations. Just didn't look or feel right. Called our vet, took her in on an “emergency walk in” basis. Was ready for whichever clinic vet was first available, was delighted when our regular vet Dr. Jessie popped in. We hugged and got teary, last time we'd seen each other was Aug 15 when she came to help Scooter over the bridge. She checked Shadow out, stapled her up, gave some antibiotics (which should also take care of the little discharge from her eyes) and pain meds, and scheduled us for a fourth round of vaccinations. She explained there is a lot of parvo around this year and lepto in the puddles on the beach and in the woods. No beach or dog group for Shadow and Joe til after final vaccinations take effect, early December. By the time I got back home was just too tired to make pot luck contribution for tonight's dance party so begged off. And I failed to walk her around the yard when we got home from the vet so she piddled in the house for the first time. So far our outside training scores are 10 successes (3 and 7) vs 1 oops, not too bad for the first 36 hours. Later last evening, Shadow actually got Tumble to chase her around the yard for quite awhile. Tumble was growly and barking but tail wagging and ears high and forward, clearly playing and not serious. She is going to be good for everyone's waistline here . . . including Tumble's!
Lighter, lovelies!

After a busy few days there were so many pages, so skim read. Typed up comments and then lost them! Feeling a little sluggish today. It's a grey day here, so I will have to turn on my inner 🌞 and smile
Had a slight blip on the scale over Halloween, but back on track. I am now at my lowest weight in 40 years, and about to enter the 140s. Maybe my wedding weight isn't such a pipe dream after all!
(((Hugs))) to those who need them

Hello beauties.
Some roses for all of you. The rose bush loves the fall weather in Florida. These pics were taken this week.
I am meeting a friend today. We are taking a flower arranging class. Hope to post more flowers for you all later on in the day.
