A goal for time, is to have more time for me; to garden, to read, to self direct. This concept has been mulling around in my mind for a few days. One of the things that this held up in front of my face is that 4 days a week I spilt shift ½ the day gardening and ½ the day embroidering – that is not the most efficient use of my time, each of the 4 days there is a 1 hour round trip commute, and the change from one to another always takes longer than I think it will. At least for the next month or so, I am going to try to work two 5 hour shifts at the camp garden and then the one 3 hour shift at my private client, so I’ll only spilt shift on 3 days. I am also going to pick one of the home all day days as a no client appointment day. So it can be just work no interruptions. Today just happened to be one of those days and oh my did I get a lot done! Embroidery on 8 towels, one horse blanket, 2 polo shirts, 3 christmas stockings, and working on a jacket that is heavy embroidery – If I could produce at that level even one day a week, it would change my world. Freeing up time for marketing the business or gardening at my home, more Levi time what ever!

    Well done!

This is one of the reasons I don't like having classes at the university. It's so disruptive. There is no easy way to get to the university, so my travel time for any classes ends up being 1.5 hours. Next Wednesday, I'll be travelling 1.5 hours in order to attend a 1 hour class and then I do it all again on Thursday because they wanted a 2-hour lecture but somehow couldn't get 2 hours together on the same day. <<sigh>>

The only good thing about that is that I'll walk 1.5 hours each of those 2 days because it takes 1.5 hours whether I take the bus or walk, so I choose to walk.

But this is also why the system where a person spends 10 or 15 minutes doing something and then moves on to the next item doesn't work for me. It works for some people, but I take time to settle into a job. In 10 or 15 minutes I've only just got settled in and then it takes another 10 or 15 minutes to settle into the next thing and I don't get anything done. I need bigger blocks of time to do stuff.

Karen- Indeed she is. I adore her almost with a pain in my heart I love her so much. As you may remember I lost my second child at full term, a placental abruption that I only just survived. Baby Kate. She would be 42 this year in May. When I was told that my second grandchild was going to be a girl the tears came to my eyes. She is very socially acute and will likely end up in a people job. We are concerned about what kind of teenager she is going to become! :o Not an easy ride for the parents we think. :D
My favourite bit was when she said, "You have got first prize for your dragon because you were very worried about drawing it and didn't have any confidence and said you couldn't, but you kept going and tried your best so you did very well. You took a lot of trouble over the details."
The second favourite bit was the burping competition. >:)

Yes I do remember quite well about your Baby Kate! But I did not know or remember about your reaction when you found that Edie would be a girl! It makes so much sense to me that you would have reacted that way! When my almost 11-year-old granddaughter was born on my sister's birthday, my daughter-in-law said "she looks so much like you, Grammy" and my heart nearly burst thinking about my lost baby Joy who also looked like me, and my dear fragile sister, and now this new little girl who, like your Edie, is a pistol. We had a marvelous day today savoring her birthday lunch at Osaka, playing with the dogs, shopping, sipping Starbucks, and talking about girl stuff. I am tired, but my heart is full.

We did not have a burping contest nor did we have a drawing contest. I am going back to look at the first prize dragon.

SuziQ - Oh, I love beetroot, but it is the one vegetable DH doesn't like. He hates it. I think he was force fed pickled beetroot as a child. ;) I eat it less often than I would like, but do smuggle it in occasionally.

Edie has just left. I'm knackered!!!!! What a force field! I adore her, but it's full on.
First we did Art Competition and I won two first prizes. She was the judge. She told me "You tried very hard with the details".
Then we did Charades - for ages!
Then we played 5 Second Rule. What energy!
    Atta gurl!!!!
Looking forward to a relaxing evening. Oouuff!!!

Heather Is your prize-winning dragon the brown beast or the blue-ish one at the top of this photo?

Kim: You are amazing. You get so much done. I have always admired your gardening and embroidery businesses. :flowerforyou:

Mary: You and DH are a handsome couple. I hope you’re feeling enough better to go for a bike ride tomorrow. :star:

I ran errands and bought groceries today. I loaded up on raw almonds and unsweetened cranberries, plus found a wonder piece of Pacific NW Cod to cook for dinner. It was delicious.

I had a great yoga class this morning at the sports club. DH has his chair yoga tomorrow morning and I plan to go with him. He hasn’t been feeling very well for the last while and I think he sits too much. Going to yoga will get him moving and help him feel better. I think I’ve mentioned that he does chair yoga. His teacher is a good one.

Karen - My dragon is at the end of the line, almost out of the picture. Green. There was a dragon competition, a dinosaur competition, a choice of rabbit, giraffe, etc competition and a fantasy room competition. I like Johnny's living room with all the different cakes and a big tv with football on. :D The brown beast is my T-Rex!
Your day out with your granddaughter sounds heavenly. We couldn't set foot out of doors because of Storm Dennis! :# One thing we hope is that the kids will still like us when they are teenagers. My friends all say that you don't see so much of them and it changes, but my ambition is to be a 'listening ear' to their troubles. They can't be worse than I was!
I have this fantasy of them stomping off from their parents' house and coming round to ours for some tea and sympathy.
May we live that long! ;)

Singing today! The singing group is having a little tea and cake party afterwards to celebrate 8 years for the club. I'm taking a packet of pretzels. Might have a nibble of an especially delicious cake if there is one. Tea is always welcome.
Then we will resume our classical session a bit later.

Hello ladies! I have been very busy. We visited the DGC in California and they gave us colds. I have been laid up since Valentine’s Day. Here is a picture before the cold hit!

I hope we never find out, too.

Like Heather, I always do what I want almost every day because, at the moment I can. It wasn't always the case.

    Good Tuesday!

I would like to say I was productive yesterday at work.....I honestly am not sure what I did.....other than answering phones and waiting on customers. Busy was good. Nice weather and government holiday I am sure helped! I have invoices to total today, yay! Worked on household paperwork last night. Guest room looks better again.

Husband has dentist appointment this morning. He woke up Saturday with a tooth aching. With his family's dental history, I felt it best to get checked since it was still bothering him yesterday. Dinner out with friends tonight.

    Kim- Nice job!

Mary- Good looking couple! Hope you are feeling better today.

Hugs because I like them ;)
    Welcome to the new ladies!

Let your own strengths shine today!

Ginny- Lovely! I so want to do some changes to my kitchen including back splash, counter tops, and something with my cabinets. My husband is talking removing walls, so I have to think simple changes. Our master bath or driveway are larger priorities.

Heather Yes! I wondered if that was your dragon. In the picture I was first looking at it looked more blue. Thank you for posting that last photo where I can see the entire green dragon. Edie was a fair and thoughtful judge; she took into account several judging criteria. She's the bomb. I underestimated your artistic talent & thought perhaps your dinosaur, obviously an excellent rendition of a T-Rex, was your "dragon" - until I spotted the partially cut-off picture of the real dragon at the far end of the carpet. <3 Excellent art contest.

Today is my granddaughter's 11th birthday! This evening we will celebrate at her house with take-out from her favorite Chinese restaurant. We will be taking care of Lilliana today, then picking up the latest foster kitty from his neutering surgery, and taking him & ourselves to the birthday celebration.

Machka I hope I never find out, either. We do what we have to do. And you are doing a top notch job.

Yesterday I posted the profile of a man who is a catfisher. I know he is a catfisher because I reverse searched for his picture and found it in a dozen places with different names and a report that he had stolen Joe Cross the juicer's identification. Today I don't see my post. Hopefully everyone is careful if a man (him or someone else) reaches out to you if you don't know them.

Thanks again for heads up. I rarely accept friends on the friend section here. Mainly because I rarely use that portion of mfp. I agree I would be careful accepting some one like him. One thing is I do go to their profile if they won't let you see it or it is filled only with women to me that is also a red flag. So if you do decide to accept men as friends this is what I would do to make sure he is trying to be a legitimate friend. You can always unfriend someone you suspect is trying to misuse the friendship aspect of this site.
