Took the Next Level class today. I’ve pretty well decided that I don’t want to take this class. Oh, it’s a good class. But it starts so late (9). I really prefer to get my workout in and then have the rest of the day to do whatever. Had to leave early and saw the launch. It never ceases to amaze me how long it takes for you to hear the sonic boom. Even tho I know that it’s coming, I’m still surprised by it. Then went to a crochet group, laid out in the sun, went to Daytona.
Speaking of Daytona, I pray that I didn’t just witness my first Daytona death. Crashes are one thing….a death is another. And if I did, may it be the last one I ever see.
Welcome everyone new!
Need to go take a shower, will be back. My eyes are really burning.

Yesterday I posted the profile of a man who is a catfisher. I know he is a catfisher because I reverse searched for his picture and found it in a dozen places with different names and a report that he had stolen Joe Cross the juicer's identification. Today I don't see my post. Hopefully everyone is careful if a man (him or someone else) reaches out to you if you don't know them.5

A goal for time, is to have more time for me; to garden, to read, to self direct. This concept has been mulling around in my mind for a few days. One of the things that this held up in front of my face is that 4 days a week I spilt shift ½ the day gardening and ½ the day embroidering – that is not the most efficient use of my time, each of the 4 days there is a 1 hour round trip commute, and the change from one to another always takes longer than I think it will. At least for the next month or so, I am going to try to work two 5 hour shifts at the camp garden and then the one 3 hour shift at my private client, so I’ll only spilt shift on 3 days. I am also going to pick one of the home all day days as a no client appointment day. So it can be just work no interruptions. Today just happened to be one of those days and oh my did I get a lot done! Embroidery on 8 towels, one horse blanket, 2 polo shirts, 3 christmas stockings, and working on a jacket that is heavy embroidery – If I could produce at that level even one day a week, it would change my world. Freeing up time for marketing the business or gardening at my home, more Levi time what ever!

Well done!
This is one of the reasons I don't like having classes at the university. It's so disruptive. There is no easy way to get to the university, so my travel time for any classes ends up being 1.5 hours. Next Wednesday, I'll be travelling 1.5 hours in order to attend a 1 hour class and then I do it all again on Thursday because they wanted a 2-hour lecture but somehow couldn't get 2 hours together on the same day. <<sigh>>
The only good thing about that is that I'll walk 1.5 hours each of those 2 days because it takes 1.5 hours whether I take the bus or walk, so I choose to walk.
But this is also why the system where a person spends 10 or 15 minutes doing something and then moves on to the next item doesn't work for me. It works for some people, but I take time to settle into a job. In 10 or 15 minutes I've only just got settled in and then it takes another 10 or 15 minutes to settle into the next thing and I don't get anything done. I need bigger blocks of time to do stuff.

Well, Jack Rauch of Rauch racing (who Newman drives for) made the statement that Newman was at the hospital under the care of a doctor. His injuries don't appear to be life threatening. Thank god! Guess the racetrack just didn't know so took steps assuming the worst. There was a repeat of the accident, which they didn't have when Earnhardt was killed. Weird, I know, but to me that is a good sign

cityjaneLondon wrote: »Karen- Indeed she is. I adore her almost with a pain in my heart I love her so much. As you may remember I lost my second child at full term, a placental abruption that I only just survived. Baby Kate. She would be 42 this year in May. When I was told that my second grandchild was going to be a girl the tears came to my eyes. She is very socially acute and will likely end up in a people job. We are concerned about what kind of teenager she is going to become! Not an easy ride for the parents we think.
My favourite bit was when she said, "You have got first prize for your dragon because you were very worried about drawing it and didn't have any confidence and said you couldn't, but you kept going and tried your best so you did very well. You took a lot of trouble over the details."
The second favourite bit was the burping competition.

Yes I do remember quite well about your Baby Kate! But I did not know or remember about your reaction when you found that Edie would be a girl! It makes so much sense to me that you would have reacted that way! When my almost 11-year-old granddaughter was born on my sister's birthday, my daughter-in-law said "she looks so much like you, Grammy" and my heart nearly burst thinking about my lost baby Joy who also looked like me, and my dear fragile sister, and now this new little girl who, like your Edie, is a pistol. We had a marvelous day today savoring her birthday lunch at Osaka, playing with the dogs, shopping, sipping Starbucks, and talking about girl stuff. I am tired, but my heart is full.
We did not have a burping contest nor did we have a drawing contest. I am going back to look at the first prize dragon.

Edie has just left. I'm knackered!!!!! What a force field! I adore her, but it's full on.
First we did Art Competition and I won two first prizes. She was the judge. She told me "You tried very hard with the details".
Then we did Charades - for ages!
Then we played 5 Second Rule. What energy!
Atta gurl!!!!
Looking forward to a relaxing evening. Oouuff!!!
The drawing competition and the very strict judge.

Hello ladies! I have been very busy. We visited the DGC in California and they gave us colds. I have been laid up since Valentine’s Day. Here is a picture before the cold hit!
We’re hoping to go for a bike ride tomorrow if we feel better.
Mary from Arizona/Minnesota9 -
Mary Lovely. Hope you feel better soon.1

Kim: You are amazing. You get so much done. I have always admired your gardening and embroidery businesses. :flowerforyou:
Mary: You and DH are a handsome couple. I hope you’re feeling enough better to go for a bike ride tomorrow.
I ran errands and bought groceries today. I loaded up on raw almonds and unsweetened cranberries, plus found a wonder piece of Pacific NW Cod to cook for dinner. It was delicious.
I had a great yoga class this morning at the sports club. DH has his chair yoga tomorrow morning and I plan to go with him. He hasn’t been feeling very well for the last while and I think he sits too much. Going to yoga will get him moving and help him feel better. I think I’ve mentioned that he does chair yoga. His teacher is a good one.

Karen - My dragon is at the end of the line, almost out of the picture. Green. There was a dragon competition, a dinosaur competition, a choice of rabbit, giraffe, etc competition and a fantasy room competition. I like Johnny's living room with all the different cakes and a big tv with football on. The brown beast is my T-Rex!
Your day out with your granddaughter sounds heavenly. We couldn't set foot out of doors because of Storm Dennis! One thing we hope is that the kids will still like us when they are teenagers. My friends all say that you don't see so much of them and it changes, but my ambition is to be a 'listening ear' to their troubles. They can't be worse than I was!
I have this fantasy of them stomping off from their parents' house and coming round to ours for some tea and sympathy.
May we live that long!
Singing today! The singing group is having a little tea and cake party afterwards to celebrate 8 years for the club. I'm taking a packet of pretzels. Might have a nibble of an especially delicious cake if there is one. Tea is always welcome.
Then we will resume our classical session a bit later.

Still catching up. Up to P39
Had another storm here - storm Dennis, not quite as fierce as Ciara thank goodness. Still a lot of flooding in the area causing problems for some. Luckily we are not close to any rivers, so we are fine.
Thanks for all your kind comments on my new kitchen and flooring. I wanted to wallpaper the wall between the bottom units and the wall cupboards, but every time I plan it something happens to scupper my plans. I'm quite nervous to do it as I've never wallpapered before, but it's only a small space so I should be able to manage - shouldn't I?
Yesterday I had to phone the doctor for mum (her sciatica is playing up again ) I also had to go to collect her prescription, today she has asked if I will flip her mattress and mentioned that her bed was "moving" when she sat on the edge of it. I have some double sided carpet tape that I'll use to try to secure the bed so it doesn't move, don't want her falling out of it!! Poor thing hasn't been well since Christmas, she still has a lingering cold that won't shift.
I'll get the wallpapering done soon, in the scheme of things it's not that important. I've come to the conclusion that being healthy is the most important thing, my SIL is not doing too well and I feel so bad for her and my nieces. What's that expression "life is too short to sweat the small stuff"
I am so thankful I am reasonably healthy, have good friends and this group (I think of all of you as friends) I want to make plenty of happy memories, as it could all change in an instant. No more putting things off until later (did that too much with my beloved hubby ) Need to enjoy life now!
Loving all the pictures of the grandchildren, they are so sweet. Also love the doggie pics, ours is costing us a fortune at the moment due to her allergies. She's on immunotherapy, had her first injection last week and is due another on Thursday. She's allergic to nearly every tree there is, quite a few grasses and weeds I hope this works, she is so itchy poor girl.
Better get on with some of my own chores before going to mums.
Have a good Tuesday - and make those happy memories
Love to all

I hope we never find out, too.
Like Heather, I always do what I want almost every day because, at the moment I can. It wasn't always the case.
I know that Life is finite. It hasn't always been a bed of roses, and fate can change things in a flash.

Heather-sorry to hear of daughter you lost. I can't imagine that. I did have a miscarriage in between my two boys (at around the 6 weeks mark). I am convinced to this day that was my girl. My husband especially always wanted a little girl. We were so excited when little Miss Layla came. It is too bad he didn't get to enjoy her more, but we have some nice pictures of us visiting with them and Papa playing with her a few months before he passed.
Viv in UK-I think you can do the wallpaper! When redoing my kitchen, I wanted to install the backsplash tile. A friend help me get it started, and I completed (cutting the tile and all). Think it turned out well.
Please ignore the wrinkled curtains (was just putting everything back together!). I find we can do most anything and it is very satisfying afterwards.
Off to start the workweek. Like most with a Monday holiday, it will technically be shorter, but it will seem longer!
Take care all,

For me there is a goal of losing weight, a finite amount of calories for success, maybe I can get a few more from exercise, but still a finite amount. A goal of paying off a bill, I can work more or cut expenses to free up money for that goal but still finite. A goal for time, is to have more time for me; to garden, to read, to self direct. This concept has been mulling around in my mind for a few days. My dear Kim, I always figured I was more likely to be a bad example than a good one! I'm so glad you found something in my words that you can use to better your days. Those of us who are able to arrange our schedules and not necessarily work to someone else's rigid time demands are fortunate indeed. Make sure to take that Levi time! Our families need us.
I'm settling into my new routine, writing for myself in the early mornings, elliptical and then shower, then writing, researching, and having meetings for work. Have almost got my IF nailed, eating between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Stopped at 3 pm yesterday. Trying to ooch that time back to 17/7, then 18/6, and so on. In other words, I'm still sneaking up on myself. It's become a thing.
For a late Valentine's day present, Corey grilled shrimp for an appetizer and steak and sweet potatoes on the grill for the main course this weekend--best meal I've had in absolutely ages, first steak I've tried in more than a year, and he made sure to have it ready by 3:30 on Sunday just for me. And if you haven't put a sweet potato on the grill, you should try it. The little bit of smoke and the caramelization from the heat make it taste better than any other way.
Happy Tuesday, people,
Hope it's lovely,

Good Tuesday!
I would like to say I was productive yesterday at work.....I honestly am not sure what I did.....other than answering phones and waiting on customers. Busy was good. Nice weather and government holiday I am sure helped! I have invoices to total today, yay! Worked on household paperwork last night. Guest room looks better again.
Husband has dentist appointment this morning. He woke up Saturday with a tooth aching. With his family's dental history, I felt it best to get checked since it was still bothering him yesterday. Dinner out with friends tonight.
Kim- Nice job!
Mary- Good looking couple! Hope you are feeling better today.
Hugs because I like them
Welcome to the new ladies!
Let your own strengths shine today!

Heather Yes! I wondered if that was your dragon. In the picture I was first looking at it looked more blue. Thank you for posting that last photo where I can see the entire green dragon. Edie was a fair and thoughtful judge; she took into account several judging criteria. She's the bomb. I underestimated your artistic talent & thought perhaps your dinosaur, obviously an excellent rendition of a T-Rex, was your "dragon" - until I spotted the partially cut-off picture of the real dragon at the far end of the carpet. Excellent art contest.
Today is my granddaughter's 11th birthday! This evening we will celebrate at her house with take-out from her favorite Chinese restaurant. We will be taking care of Lilliana today, then picking up the latest foster kitty from his neutering surgery, and taking him & ourselves to the birthday celebration.
Machka I hope I never find out, either. We do what we have to do. And you are doing a top notch job.

Really quick: I have been skimming and want to give a bunch of hugs, thumbs up, kudos to all of you ladies for the many things/events going on in your lives! Kim- LOVE the dinner party set up! Mary- You look fantastic! Hope you and our DH are feeling better, soon! Heather, Karen VA, Rebecca- Adoring all of the pics of the granddaughters! Barbie- I have never read GR's Happiness Project; if no one else has asked for it, I will take it. (If it has been claimed, all is well, because I am sure I can borrow it at the library) Machka and Rori- Special hugs to you! It is so hard being a full time caregiver and spectator as you watch your life become something you really never thought would happen (at least not so soon). I am getting glimmers of it as my hubby's RA worsens and it affects his mental state (although I am not sure if that is due to the RA or the meds (I suspect the meds). Heather- I love the idea of drawing your dream room. I have many "dream rooms". A bathroom I could vacation in. A kitchen I could make anything for many people in. Those are very likely to happen as my home/appliances age. I think the room that has popped into my head the most, would be an add on to the south side of my home. I would like an enclosed four season porch. I imagine it lush with plants ( in the spring it would have all of my vegetable and flower garden starters), a chair here and there. Approaching the southeast corner (where my bedroom is, there would be a resistance pool with a retractable wood cover (so it can be walked over), and around the southeast corner there would sit a hot tub on a deck that opens out into my backyard. lol Like I said, "dream room".
Love and hugs to all! Enjoying all of the pics and news from your lives. Meantime, keeping my nose to the grindstone. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)5 -

Thanks again for heads up. I rarely accept friends on the friend section here. Mainly because I rarely use that portion of mfp. I agree I would be careful accepting some one like him. One thing is I do go to their profile if they won't let you see it or it is filled only with women to me that is also a red flag. So if you do decide to accept men as friends this is what I would do to make sure he is trying to be a legitimate friend. You can always unfriend someone you suspect is trying to misuse the friendship aspect of this site.4
