Aubrey update- she had another heart cath yesterday. No evidence of the PVS being active. They had to blow open her stent. All is wonderful! Thank God! She still has neutropenia most likely from the chemo for the PVS. Boston Children's Hope's it will be another 6 mths before she may need another cath. Just wanted to share. They have to hang in boston until tomorrow. But resting comfortably at hotel .

I took Dan to work and went and got Homer and brought him over to my place... I took the day off to recover from travel. and I have a 3:30 pm drs appointment..
I am going to have a serious talk with the Dr about work.. I have been on antidepressants since I started working for this man and now have adivan added to the mix all because he is so demanding.. I mean my stomach is in complete knots when I go to work and am stressed to the hilt..Honestly I dont know how much more I can take..5 -
Allie - Why are you taking Dan to work? How did he get to work when you were gone. As for the Dr, based on what you've told us, don't expect any change. The more you tell him you are unhappy, the more he will turn up the fire to get you to quit. He doesn't want to have his unemployment rates affected.

Heather: I appreciate full disclosure from my doctor. When there is testing it sometimes takes a few days for results, but I need to know as soon as the results are available. My doctor is very good about promptly providing results. DH and I both go to this doctor. I hope your DH’s results are shared with him asap. :flowerforyou:
Kylia: Hugs for Aubrey and the whole family.
Alison: Are you going to an appointment with your personal physician? There may be useful advice offered by your physician. Have you been looking for work in another dentist’s office? DH & I have different dentists but both of them have happy staffs and excellent patient rapport.

Hello Ladies! ... I've been reading but too late to comment ...
Allie ... the photos are stunning ... I'll never travel to a place like that and enjoyed seeing it through your eyes!
Prayers for all of you dealing with difficult situations and Praises for those who are in happier places.
Vitamins ... I don't take any except a D3 supplement which is monitored by my doctor. I believe in eating the rainbow but I'm also looking into how to boost my gut biome. This seems to be the direction nutrition is heading.
Not sure who mentioned Coronavirus ... my husband tends to over-worry about situations... so we have a supply of things that he believes are necessary in the event of an emergency. Today he was worrying about our out-of-town son and wanted to order him face masks. Which I can assure you my son will not use unless we're at the end times. Price gouging is at work right now. He paid way, way too much for 50 disposable masks. Sigh. I'm a firm believer in common sense and hand washing. Still, the medical community is taking it seriously. We had appointments at the Cleveland Clinic yesterday for our older son and they were requesting information regarding travel/contagious disease exposure/etc. before confirming our appointments.
Buffalo is shut down due to a blizzard warning so both my husband and I are home from work today. I've spent the time cleaning out the refrigerator, using up items that are soon to expire. Making a shopping list for when the weather gets better. Tonight will be a mish-mash of leftovers for dinner! I have plenty in my freezer if food supplies were disrupted and added to it today with some baked goods that used up soon-to-expire buttermilk.

Allie,
Since it's a smallish practice are you protected by employment laws? Based upon what you have told the group your boss's personality is not one to take kindly to a "talk" regardless of who is included. He may be nice for a week or two but I have a feeling you better be prepared for worsening treatment or being fired/let go.
I was really hoping during your break you would have a mind shift and realize you need to make a change. I actually understand why you do not want to quit. It feels like a surrender. But I have learned that refusing to leave a bad situation is in itself a decision to continue to receive and accept the abuse. And, the abusers know this and continue their behavior and enforcing ideas such as "you will never find better", "you do not have the strength", "you are not worthy", etc.. Allie - you are worth so much more than what you are receiving at your workplace.
Sending positive thoughts the discussion is what is needed to make your boss a better human. Keep us posted.

New to the thread...I am back on MFP after several years off. Trying to get off the 130 plateau and back to 115 which I have not seen in many years! So far so good, as of last Monday I am down 2 lbs. Most of my activity comes from work, I am on my feet and walking constantly. Need to find the energy to get more after work so I can trick my body...LOL!!! Nice to meet & join all of you!

Vitamins & minerals ... I take lots. Vit A, B, D, E, Zinc, Folic Acid, Calcium, Magnesium, Fish Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Garlic
Sometimes C, Glucosamine Valerian, Ginkgo Biloba, and a Stress multi.
Never Iron and Turmeric
Machka in Oz
Just in case anyone was concerned ...
I don't randomly take all those vitamins. Several medical specialists have strongly recommended different ones to me for different reasons.
Do they "work"? I've come across people who think vitamin, minerals etc. should give a person more energy and make them feel more healthy, and so on. But they don't usually work like that. At best, they might bring a person up to whatever is "normal" ... but we might not actually feel any different.
For example, I was diagnosed with MTHFR, a genetic disorder, combined with a high homocysteine level. That combination put me at risk for more clots and also for cardiovascular disease.
Studies show that a high does of Folic Acid plus B12 and magnesium can help lower a high homocysteine level. Therefore both my treating doctor in the hospital where I stayed for 2 weeks with DVT in 2009 and a blood specialist several months later recommended those three plus the B vitamins in general.
And my homocysteine level has dropped to normal so the Folic Acid, B12 and magnesium seem to have worked. I don't feel any different ... but if a normal homocysteine level means that my chances of cardiovascular disease is lowered ... great!

It seems that lately I’ve been getting a lot of friend requests from guys. Wonder why? Once I see that it’s a male, I just delete it.
Lisa – Levi is so cute. And that ear protection … priceless
SuziQ – you are right about sundowners coming out of the blue. When MIL was having it, she was fine when I’d go to visit her which was usually during the day when the kids were in school. She’d be sundowning when Vince would go to see her after he got off work. It was truly amazing how we would see a different person. Have you ever taken this ultimate challenge? I’m trying to decide if its something for me. I know that most days I exercise, but then there are days when I can’t (like the day we’ll be driving home from FL). But I also know that I get right back into exercise, even if I’m away from it for a few days. Who determines who is in the Winners Circle? It would seem that as much as possible, people should be on an even playing field. Does this mean that you HAVE to add in your exercise calories? What if you don’t but you go over calories by a handful?
Allie – how did Dan get to work while you were away? Couldn’t he do the same thing and not rely on you all the time? I agree with okie, telling the doctor how stressed you are is only going to make him do more to get you to quit.
Maggie – welcome (and welcome anyone else new). SuziQ is from southern FL too.
SuziQ or Irish Terry – about that accountability group, I have a few questions: How do you bookmark this group so that I remember to log in every day? I would think that everyone should be on the same page, so does that mean that I have to add in my exercise calories? What if I don't but then go over my calorie limit by a handful (which would have been adjusted had I entered my exercise calories). If you need to add in your exercise calories, where do you get the number of the amount of calories you should add in? I usually log at least one thing every day. What if I can't finish logging? Guess that's were the honor system comes in.
Went up to Daytona and had dinner with our friends. Very interesting place. It's on the beach where the Daytona 500 started. I didn't realize that originally they raced on the beach, made the turn, then raced on A1A (highway), made the turn and then went back on the beach. Lots of very interesting memorabilia. Did pretty good on the eating. Just water to drink, shrimp tacos, and a bite of Vince's chocolate lava cake and about 4 of his french fries. Came home and had a few M&M's. Now just having a cup of tea.
Pot luck tomorrow. I've made a tunnel of fudge cake to take. Hope it came out OK. I brought most of the dry ingredients with me. I just couldn't see buying a 5lb bag of flour for two cups, things like that. I did have to buy vanilla, but that's not a big thing. I did have to get spray non-stick, but I can leave that down here. But the only type of mixer I had was this small one that MIL had, just hope it was powerful enough. The batter looked OK.

Heather: I hope your DH’s testing goes smoothly and doesn’t reveal anything scarey. :flowerforyou:
Barbara: I have three blueberry bushes. Two are the same cultivar, Sunshine Blue. The other is a bit smaller plant, and it is called Bountiful Blue. I bought them at a nearby nursery several years ago and they are happy where they are planted. I was told they were from the Southern Oregon coast, near Bandon. We live in a townhouse and they’re all planted in beds on the west side of the house. There is another townhouse on the other side of the walkway. I feel confident you would be able to grow them if you want. They all produced fruit the first year they were planted, but only a little. The amount of fruit has increased each year. I didn’t get them pruned last fall so this year may be a bit of a mess. We’ll see.
SuziQ: Thanks for the accountability challenge link.
JanetO: Keeping your head down with all the “excitement” at work seems like a very good idea. I hope things settle in for everyone at your workplace and you are not put in any stressful situations that result from the changes. :flowerforyou:
Pip: Donation is in the mail. You and Kirby are the best! Thank you for supporting MS research in such a powerful way. Not everyone is willing or able to participate in a bike marathon. You two are among heroes.

@exermom When you join UAC it appears in your groups on Community. If you want to bookmark it, click the favourites star ⭐️ at the top of the page, just like you do for this group. There is a new page for each day, so I just go to the main page and click on it each day.
There are 3 criteria for each day
1. Do at least 20 minutes of exercise each day
2. Stay under calorie goal (you decide what this is)
3. Track your calories
You don't have to add exercise calories, if you don't want to, but you do have to track every lick, bite and sip, which you can do on the MFP log. You get the number of calories for exercise in the MFP database. Click on <Exercise> on the MFP header and type in the type of exercise and the time you did it. You can also add your own exercises, if they're not listed.
You get 3 pass days per month. If you have had 3 or less pass days, you are in the Winners Circle.
It's a good challenge to be in because it helps you develop good habits.

Michele, I'm not sure that you need an accountability group. You have a vigorous daily exercise program and an eating plan that works for you. An accountability group is more useful to someone who is trying to build good habits. Once you become accountable to yourself, you may not need others to keep you going.

I made my own exercise entries but only listed about half the actual calories. So I eat half back.

Annie Deleware- I don’t add my exercise I just do it then eat 1200 cal if I go a little over or under I figure it will even out. I try to aim for my calorie goal as much as possible y get exercise in as much as possible with a toddler .
Of course I’m doing low impact stuff walking, exercise band, cleaning,y jump rope so don’t need much caloric intake for that

Just a quick check-in. Went to choir tonight even though I felt exhausted. Very cold here and snowing. Came out from choir and had to clean off car. Heavy snow and took it slow. One car was off the road. The hill up to my neighborhood was ok-but you couldn't really see the road.
DIL called-grandson got cast on today. Evidently he chose green. His sister tried to talk him into sparkles, but she was outvoted. DIL said doctor referred to chart from hospital and said "He's our guy that was crying and being hysterical!" Evidently Logan was a trooper thought the whole thing.
Heather UK-your medical system is different from ours (or at least from my doctors). I get complete copies of all of my blood work and have several years worth. I like to be able to track thyroid levels so I can gauge how cancer is doing. I have all of my x-ray reports, cat scans, etc. I started doing that before all of the records became computerized.
Off to get some sleep so I can leave for work a bit early. Glad tomorrow is Friday.
Take care all,

Amber ... interesting music video ... I can't hear, so I watched it with captions. Try reading a song's lyrics ... they hardly make sense in my opinion. Although some of the lyrics (and video) are crude, I understand what she's talking about. I've wondered how things would have been different if I'd been born a man.
While it looked like the "blizzard" was a bust earlier today ... the winds are picking up again. Hoping we don't lose power.

We do here in Australia as well.
Dr orders bloodwork and discusses with me what the bloodwork will check. I'll say something like, "Could we put Iron on that list?" or "Do you mind adding Electrolytes?" And that will usually prompt her to check all my vitamin and mineral levels.
I take the form to the lab and they fill up several vials of my blood and send it off to wherever.
A few days later, the results come back to my doctor and if there's something out of the normal range, she'll ring me and tell me and if it is serious she'll get me to book an appointment to come in and chat about it. If everything is normal or close to it, the next time I have an appointment, she'll go over it all with me.
And she prints out a copy and gives it to me.
Mostly everything is comfortably in the middle of the normal range. My iron level will usually be high normal or borderline high. If I'm heavier, my cholesterol will be borderline high. If I'm lighter, it will be normal.
But I've got copies of my bloodwork for the last 10 or so years.
